...and I'd highly recommend snagging your Nova from Amazon. 3 year warranty for $34. At Best Buy, it's $120 for 2 years, and SS doesn't offer any extended warranty at all, and you're screwed if you have a problem outside of warranty. My APWs had the dreaded hinge snap 3 months out of warranty, and support told me I was shit out of luck. They don't repair them, at all. You can't even pay for a repair.

My personal worry is also bandwidth limitations, like will things cut out, static, when listening, under high gain circumstances (when learning guitar songs you gotta have it turned 🔊 up SLKDJF), will you here background noise. Idk I'm just worried it will sound halfassed I like quality and no hiss (although, the 1st gen dac with my hardware did have some hiss when turned up)

Your head size might be an issue. I dunno, cos wearing them... whilst they have a really nice bass to them. As soon as i press the sides in using my hands. the bass turns from nice, to amazing. Soooo wearing them normally, i can only have nice bass, not amazing bass unless i want to hold on to them with my hands. I kinda noticed this

The DAC in pure form, the output is 2CH 24 bit 48khz

The Sonar output is 8 channel 16 bit 48 khz

So yeah if you are using the Sonar output, even with the wired version, the Sonar output is still configured for only 16 bit

Both models basically limited to 16 bit if you're using Sonar software

Nah man honestly I’m just curious if I’d hear or notice a difference between them and the original pro wireless’. I’ve also heard the bass gets better/worse depending on if you…. “Press the earcup into your ear” but I don’t think that’s exactly true nor accurate lol.

Yeah that's called a seal. If you have a good seal you get better bass. Every headset with leather/plu/leatherette has this behavior. This material theoretically will have the max possible bass response because of having a seal

A mesh/sport fabric doesn't have the same kind of a behavior because even if you press down, you don't have a much better seal

Corsair Virtuoso has the same behavior, but a it's even more severe on that

I did confirm with measurements that Sonar On (with Flat EQ) measures the exact same as being off entirely.

I settled on being able to use it on 1 more device (albeit I don't own an xbox) versus the pc/ps4/ps5 model over the multi-device capability across both usb ports, sans xbox, found on the pc/ps4/ps5 model. So you get a single USB port that works on all your current platforms. The Xbox variant has a dedicated usb-c that only works on Xbox. If you buy the PC or PS version, it will have two standard USB ports which means you can have a PS5 and a PC connected at the same time, then just switch between the two sources

I have a Predator Helios 300 and it has 2 open memory slots 1 is a NVMe SSD and the other is a standard SSD that can be changed to a SATA SSD or SATA HDD. I really just want 1 TB to put games I don't play much and other junk files I don't use often but still need. My use case is this: I have a pc, ps5, and switch though the pcs are in one room and consoles in a completely separate. Since I already will have to move the game dac if switching from pc to console and using only the one usb-c port that accepts everything but xbox, i might as well get the xbox one which is universal.

That opens up the potential down the line of maybe getting an xbox or taking my headset to someones house who has xbox and not need an entirely different headset to use it wirelessly.

Though if one were to get the pc/ps5 version, you can still hook it up analog via the 3.5 mm jack like any other headset through the xbox controller.

Now if my pc and ps5 and other consoles were in the same room, maybe the pc/ps5 one would make sense for me to utilize the multi-device connection. But realistically, I won't. I'll be swapping wires anyway 🙂

One thing that is very much worth noting is that the Xbox version has a dedicated Xbox USB port. So that means you can only use that port for Xbox, where the other port supports PC/PS. The PC/PS version supports PC/PS on both ports

So with the PC/PS version you can plug in a PC and a PS5 for example. Or even two PS5. With the Xbox version you're forced to always use one port for Xbox

Hello everybody. I bought the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. I don't understand how to load EQ profiles on headphones via sonar and then view them while using the console.
Through Sonar I set profiles for Destiny 2. But once I move to PlayStation5 in the Dac menu I don't find that equalization, but always and only those stored in default.

Sonar is a virtual audio engine and only works on PC unfortunately. For console gaming you need to create a custom EQ on DAC by using the knob on the front, or via the GG Engine to make your tune there. It's not as good but you can get pretty close.

It’s mainly for long term support, as the PS version is guaranteed to work on PS forever, and they don’t make the same guarantee with the PC version. There’s also the licensing side of things. A PS version can be put next to the PlayStation stuff even if it’s the same unit. It increases product exposure in retail.

The Xbox version is the only unique one. One port works on Xbox. The other is shared with PC and PS.

@stark rampart since you're here - Me and @dusty urchin both got nova pro wireless headsets that weren't pre-synced to the dock. My instructions said to "look at the dock screen" for how to pair, but the pairing screen just said "Pairing". His said to hold the power button for 4 seconds, which didn't work either

I took a guess based on old steelseries headsets and held power for 6 seconds and thankfully that entered pairing mode. That said, you guys need to clarify your documentation on pairing mode. I won't say anything about the headset not being paired out of the box like the instructions say - that's likely a qc fluke, that happens, I get it. But if it becomes a problem - people coming in and asking constantly how to pair, well, now ya know why

One other thing - The ANC mics on the speakers of the headset, the ones that touch my upper ear on each side, really, really hurt. I know you guys aren't planning on offering thicker/different materials for ear cups, but I have a feeling that you're gonna have a lot of users complaining/returning these headphones because of the ear discomfort

What I did was take a pair of Comply grip earbud tips for my Sony XM4 earbuds, cut the rubber bit out, and put the memory foam tip over the ear mics. Still not perfect, but substantially less ear pain. You guys may want to look into developing your own ear tips included in the box/prefabbed on the unit for this headset. Just a suggestion because the mics genuinely hurt out of the box
