A 3.5mm jack can't transmit data like a USB plug which is why the 3 doesn't have engine support since the PC can't read information from the headset. It's just sending an analog audio signal through to the speakers themselves

now sonar adds in extra audio sources. think of sonar as a digital audio interface

sonar gaming and sonar chat for your playback options and sonar mic( i dont use this playback device at all, it may have some use similar for sidetone function but someone may have a better answer than me)

now if you picture the interface more like a box that has wires that run to it and wires that run from it, you can get a better understanding of what it does

in windows sound settings you want to set sonar gaming as your default for audio and set sonar chat as your default for communication, this way under all your different settings for games and discord and such, it will only ever need to be set to default windows config

then

inside of sonar you will set your audio sources.
this is how you tell sonar what items you want to have for playback for gaming, and what you want for your communication
set this to your arctis 7+ and then it allows the chat dial to be emulated inside of sonar (mixer)

guys.. I have 1hell of a bug since today it seems like... the steelseries moments option says : "this clip has corrupted video effects data. to view this clip, any applied effects need to be removed " as soon as I open a clip.
but first of all my clips dont have any applied effects and whenever I click that and press the video it just pops-up again no matter what I do..
and since I've over 700+ clips already I really dont wanna lose them because of a bug lol.

hey guys. Just bought a new Arctis Pro Wireless and I found a strange bug. So my mic light is not working now. It used to work for about 5 min and after I changed smthing in GG it stopped. I know that its have a setting where you can adjust your mic light but I have it turn on to 100% and it still not working. I have tried to reinstall the GG software and also reconnect the headset but it seems like it does not help 😦
