Macros are saved onboard, and can even be recorded onboard. Although, if you're looking to use text macros for copy-pasting long blocks those do still require Engine.

in my opinion and experience, with keyboards there is no problem with latency (you're just transferring quite literally letters and not whole bunch of data over USB) unless you use some bad bluetooth one. Years ago I was still using old PS/2 that was almost as old as me, and latency was not a problem.
And regarding low actuating pressure - I have some mechanical keyboard with kailh red switches, and only thing bothering me is that sometimes in valorant/etc I accidentally jump with my left thumb cuz it's resting on the spacebar 😅
If I was going to buy my first proper keyboard, I would definitely go mechanical+whatever i look for, but latency is not on the list of criteria 🙂
