You can find an old standalone version of engine that installs without auto-updates enabled online. That works as long as you aren't using any of the newer products from like 2020 onwards because there are some things that just aren't compatible with the old Engine
But also you shouldn't be using Windows 7 anyways

Incase anyone have the same problem that i had, here is how i fixed it:
I got myself a Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless yesterday. and since then my Steelseries GG wont do anything with the Bass Enchancement in the settings there, its no different either its off or on full.
another thing is when i launch spotify to play a song my headset automatically just disconnects and i need to change windows settings to get the sound back.
(FIX) I found out about the problem.
It was because i had ProtonVPN downloaded and somewhat then my bass enchanter would not work.
After i uninstalled my VPN it worked. so it was nothing wrong with steelseries software. but would be nice if steelseries gg worked still while having VPN on computer.
I found the fix on reddit about a guy said that vpn can mess with your steelseries gg/audio drivers not saving and not working. So after uninstalling vpn software it worked for meblush

I think the engine should be separate from gg, kinda like riviatuner is seperate from MSI afterburner

how did we come to everything you plug into your pc needs some sort of software to run

software I only go into when something is wrong
otherwise it just chills in my background processes, not that is an issue, I'm just saying theres different softwares for literally everything
for example.. I have like 5-6 different ways I can capture my screen
but the only method I use is OBS
why do I have the other ways of capture you might ask, well, because it comes attached to some driver that a peripheral I have needs to run

I found out a fix for the static sound, in the steelseries gg just turn on volume limiter. That worked for me, hopefully for you to :) i dont know about the reconnecting tho sorry

heyo so i have been trying to update the firmware of my rival 650 and it updates and then when i reconnect it it just keeps asking to update the firmware, now this has caused so the mouse is unusable wirelessly, and i have went through every step, reinstalling the engine, using a older version, reseting the mouse, and yes even checked device manager and windows updates are all updated, any fix for this or do i need to contact support beacuse i have been trying to fix it for 5 days straight maybe and yes i have tried updating it on another computer π
