I made two .bat files in SteelSeries folder found in programdata folder, one had the following runas.exe /user:DESKTOP-DTKSRK9\Admin /savecred C:\ProgramData\SteelSeries\SteelSeries.bat while the other opened the exe cd %programfiles%\SteelSeries\GG\ start SteelSeriesGG.exe -dataPath="C:\ProgramData\SteelSeries\GG" -dbEnv=production exit I also added the following string value in the registry C:\ProgramData\SteelSeries\RunSteelSeriesAs.bat at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run this is the fix for standed users running ggsteelseries as administrator allowing a standed user to still have the cpu temps in the keyboard screen

means every time the steelseries exe opens you dont need to enter your admin password only press yes on a box that comes up at start up, you will need to disable auto start up in the program if you use the above fix for stranded users being able to use the monitor software in the keyboard screen

using a separate mic as tmaxnt suggests is a valid point too tho, I recently picked up a HyperX QuadCast S and the difference is night and day. Among other headphones and headsets the mic on SteelSeries is pretty good but it's nothing compared to a proper mic.

If the audio jack on the computer is the problem (and a different cable doesn't help) then you can always opt for a USB DAC, you could get the GameDAC and an adapter if these are in stock, or Creative Labs sells some good external sound cards for around the same price. You would get the equivalent of an upgrade to the Arctis 5 by doing that.

I would actually recommend the Arctis 9 over the Pro Wireless, although the specs maybe don't look as good on paper I've heard a lot less complaints about people having issues with the 9 than on the Pros, and the Pros are much older in terms of when they were released.

You have a couple options, either play around with the software yourself and have fun learning what each customization setting does, or look up a tutorial for creating RGB effects on the Apex Pro online

there's 3 methods for surround, 2 of which are advertised by SS, and I don't remember which one the 7 uses. The first one is entirely through Windows Surround, it's used by the Arctis 3 and a few of the others that have no Engine interface. The second one is enabled through Engine and is specific to the headset, if you have the option you'll see it in the config page. Yours may be like this. The 3rd option is another piece of software like Nahimic that does the same thing as Windows Surround but better and more configurable.

In general, the surround sound stuff runs in the background, processing the audio before it's played through the output. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's on or not because games already have their own methods of mimicking surround sound to begin with, it's more noticeable in films or music. If you can't tell the difference it's because the source audio is already configured to have virtual surround and it's just a redundant setting

The tildes and accents such as Γ© Γ¬ Γ± etc? You need to have your keyboard set to the correct language. If you have the American layout, set it to ENG-INTL and then you should be able to type these characters using key combos. for the forward accent, use the ` symbol followed by the letter, for the backward accent use ' for Γ± use the ~ followed by n, for the umlaut use ", etc. There are more but I don't know them.

Sounds like a bug
