I think the only reason they don't go Type C and detachable is they'll get people using cheap USB 1.0 and 2.0 "type C" cables that are only really for charging things and then they'll complain about it not working right.

true. but back when the Apex Pro was released it was still relatively new (as far as I remember), and even though it's fairly standard now it probably would cost them a decent bit to retool their manufacturing for a revised version. New colors are easy, but new circuitry and possibly a new backplate to accomodate it (plus a new cable to manufacture) is a bit more difficult to implement. My top dollar says they're waiting to release a completely new keyboard with the next generation of cutting-edge innovation, and they'll incorporate a bunch of the community feedback there, rather than just refreshing an already fairly old design with only marginal improvements.

Idk, HD audio and external DACs are fairly niche so I think they might move more in the direction of the Arctis 9 with everything integrated into the headset itself. Noise cancelling would be a nice addition if you ask me. Although I think they might be getting back into the earbud space rather than making more headsets right now.

I switch between 250 ish and 650 depending on what I'm doing. I'm a designer so the 250 is useful for precise movements, but then I use huge screens so the faster speed is better for general use.

That's great if you want to work in asset creation for games (the actual world/prop/character building). I've learned a teeny bit about it and it's honestly an awesome skill to have, because you can also use it for 3D animation and design, which are used nearly everywhere and opens up a lot of opportunities

Eh, it's just a matter of practice. I sucked at design and drawing when I started, and after barely half a year of doing it I couldn't believe how easy it felt compared to before. And even now I'm still improving.
All I can say is if it interests you, keep doing it and eventually you'll be a pro and someone might even pay you to do it

There's always going to be a certain amount of hiss with wireless headsets, it's just the way they are. You can mitigate it though by setting your system volume in Windows to 100 and using the volume wheel on the headset itself and or the base station to adjust the volume to your preferred level

Arctis 3 uses a 3.5mm analog connection and doesn't have Engine support so any software changes like surround sound have to be enabled through Windows.
The Arctis 5 uses a USB connection and comes with a chat mix dial and 2 audio outputs for playing game audio and chat audio through separate channels and the chat mix lets you balance the audio between them easier with the dial. Arctis 5 also has Engine support so you can change the EQ and RGB through the SteelSeries GG app on your PC

If I crank it down to 1.2k it still feels fine, but anything lower than 1k (like 800 or less) feels too slow to me now lol
Although I will admit, for me at least, it heavily relies on screen size. If my screen is smaller, 800-1.2k would be perfect.

My Arctis 7 wireless suddenly has white noise on higher volume (starting from 80%) When the chat/game volume scroll is at the middle and I move it up for game volume, it doesn't really go up and when I scroll it down it does lower, until only voice chat audio is heard.
