The profile will only apply when the headset is powered with a data connection to whatever device it's being connected to. 3.5mm doesn't supply the power or data connection needed to read the profile from the onboard memory.
I believe that the headset will remember whatever the last profile set in the Engine was if it's connected wirelessly or via USB to another computer that doesn't have the engine software. Alternatively, if the headset has Bluetooth like the Arctis 9, it would remember the last profile set through Engine when connected wirelessly to a phone.

Yes. The speaker drivers are better on the Pros. I think the mic has a wider frequency response too but that doesn't matter much, especially using it in VoIP programs like Discord

Steel series Engine 3 does not ask me to login every time I want to adjust my keyboard config.
GG on the other hand demands I login in order to edit my keys / macros.

Any of the SteelSeries headsets that connect via 3.5mm analog won't have Engine support. So that's the Arctis 1, 3, and Prime headsets. All of the USB and wireless headsets do have engine support which are the Arctis 5, 7, 9, Pro, and Pro Wireless

If I had to guess, the white APW probably won't be restocked until next year. They've been doing limited drops of the black APW this year because of the worldwide chip shortage but I haven't seen any restocks of the white APW since last year. Hello, I bought the Arctis 7P for my PS5 to improve the gaming experience (Fortnite and WZ game), however, I do not hear the footsteps of the enemies as well as before. Hi guys. I just speak portuguse. sorry about the mistakes on the message, if there is. I have the Aerox 3 wirelless. After the last firmware update, my mouse is experiencing wireless disconnection. I have to plug the cable into the mouse for it to work wirelessly again. does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Update: The link on the website for SteelSeries Engine 3 just downloads the SteelSeries GG engine again. Wow, very cool! I am never buying another SteelSeries product if I have to use this bloatware.

ok so please forgive any rambling, but the apw (arctis pro wireless abrev, easier to type) has a battery saving feature that will kick in when the output volume (windows) is below a certain level, & will silence sounds, so you want to make sure all your windows sound settings are as high as you're comfortable having them, especially if multiple sources are playing at once, & you'll want to adjust the overall headset volume for whatever you're listening to
so i keep my windows sound levels pretty high, & mostly have the apw sound level pretty much directly in the middle, sometimes lower depending

if you've downloaded DTS in the engine, so the additional software blue banner that prompts up, youll want to make sure you dont have any other enchantments on, like windows sonic, so yeah
because what that ends up doing is processing the sounds twice if you have dts enabled

from what im aware of regarding the differences of the prime mice, the prime+ has more onboard memory so if you moved your mice from pc to pc often & not all of them have access to the steelseries software, it lets you customize it a bit more, whereas the prime wireless is likely better confined to one pc

Alright, here's a noteworthy difference: The Prime Wireless can only adjust CPI by 100 steps, not 50 like in the Prime+.
Just found that out while setting up my mouse.
Which is ever so slightly annoying as I have an 850/1850 CPI setup on my previous mice... lol

I ended up finding the software through a third party, did not come back here to mention it cause I kinda gave up and made my choice based on the whole experience, even if I can install the legacy software for my current HW I don't think having options is what the company want for its customers, they want to strong arm their way going forward and as such, its a dead brand as far as I'm concerned, at least what it was have died, whatever made me love this brand for over 10 years is gone
