Lubing click jacket style MX switches is not the best idea. The lube interferes with how the click jacket is supposed to snap down quickly after passing the tactile bump on the leaf to create the audible click. The switches will lose their click for the most part & will inconsistently click occasionally. You may be able to lube certain parts of the switch but it won't make it quieter.

Once you claim a game key on the website, it's automatically yours. They're taken out of the rotation of being given once someone claims it. No need to use it immediately in order to make sure it's yours.

Look up independent reviews of the two or reviews that compare the two. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but obviously people are going to recommend the Arctis 5 if you ask in the SteelSeries discord and people will recommend the Blackshark in the Razer discord

But I've personally been using the Arctis 5 for 2 years now and I love them. Completely worth the price and has some great features + sound

I got the apex pro.
it is just amazing and IMO the omnipoint switches are totally worth it, they feel so much better than the other ones on my fingers.

Minimum actuation is sth that it will take some time to get used to it, but when you do you wont wanna return to other switches xD
also SSengine can provide you with multiple configs so you can use other profiles for family members who dare not to enjoy this 😂

Although I would like to say.... the tech at steelseries should really think about redesigning and or improving the wireless sets battery/charging dock. After a while the charging dock will give false readings on battery charge capacity etc....

When I tried to measure input lag on Apex Pro between pressing a key and seeing a character in notepad, it takes 30 ms, which I think is pretty long. Anybody knows why is it that? E.g. USB settings or something else? I am a bit puzzled as this keyboard had somewhere reported latency around 3 ms, which is 10x less than what I see.

I actually saw one of the plugins that really caught my eye, "Prismsync", and I set that up with my Apex and Rival three, so now everything shifts through colors and lights up when I press a key

There's also a discord plugin that makes your stuff light up whenever a specific event happens, although I don't like it too much as it turns off the rgb's afterwards. I'm not too sure it's supposed to do that 😅
