Anybody have any issues with the Arctic pros breaking and cracking above the headphone?

I love the headset and warranty process but I’m afraid to dedicate more time into another pro headwear

As far as I know it's a manufacturing tolerance issue like the side grips on the Rival 600/650, some people will get unlucky and get a headset with weak joints. I have a pair of Arctis 5s that I've been using daily for over a year now and the hinge is completely fine

Though I have heard that the "best practice" for handling Arctis headphones is to grab above the ear cup if you need to stretch them out slightly to get them onto your head rather than stretching from the ear cup where the joints are more likely to break

I'm losing my mind over steel series customer support

I RMA my headset two months ago, right before they tell me they don't have stock to replace it

I constantly ask if I can pay the difference for a different headset they have in stock, and they constantly tell me that it's against their policy

I ask again today and they came up with the great idea of letting me pay the difference!! But the headset I want is out of stock

They could have let me get a different headset from the start and everyone would be happy but instead they've ruined my sanity and lost yet another customer

Things are out of stock everywhere for pretty much everything. Not really SteelSeries fault for that, and if your agent said something is against their policy it's possible they checked with their managers and asked about it so they changed the policy. Things like that happen.

Where I work we have stock problems loads, more so now with shipping issues, customers will get annoyed that we can't do anything about it and we can only do so much. Sometimes with managers permission we can allow discounts on similar products but managers only usually give in after being complained at 5 or 6 times so sometimes policy is just policy until it's pushed and pushed. Which is annoying, I can see why, but retail has taught me not to be angry at customer support as much cause 9 times out of 10 they have little control over anything haha

Most of the time polices are just passed down from corporate overlords who really couldn't care about any one customer, they just have to make sure their support and warranty stuff complies with governmental laws and regulations and that's it

Until last year the only steelseries item I owned was the headset, I have the Apex Pro, Rival 600 and the Arctis Pro Wireless oh and the QCK Prism cloth XL

I'm now all steelseries kitted out and I love it hahaha

I just really wish all the RGB stuff in my PC was compatible with SteelSeries engine because I love one of the preset color shift gradients on the QcK that I set for the rest of my peripherals but I can't make specific gradients for my PC components since the color shift option on all of them goes through the whole RGB spectrum and the one I have for my SteelSeries gear just does the blues and purples

Right now I've just settled for making each RGB zone a different shade of blue or purple and set a fade effect to it which looks fine all things considered

Way i've always seen it is, if a frequency hits 20,000hz on a 40,000hz headset it would handle those frequencies better because of the larger margin in comparison to something that is maxed at 20,000

not that it makes much of a difference to me cause like @keen pine said, the difference is probably not noticeable at all during everyday use

Well, I have the pro+dac and the headset wheel on the left cup works independently from the DAC and windows volume. I imagine it will. Lemme double check for you!

Well nobody ever specifies it, which sucks, cause some wireless headsets have dials that control windows volume instead of their own, which sucks

And if it is like that theeen, I will hear white noise, so uhh
