I know that the Arctis 7 starts beeping when it's on low battery. But just now it had a very loud and long beep. It then turned off. Why did this happen and what does it mean?

How low was the battery? That was probably just the indicator that it was completely out of juice and automatically shut down

There's probably something in the manual for the headset that says what each type of beep means. I'd start looking there. Also, have you ever let the headset completely die before? Again, how low was the battery when it made the long beep and turned off? If you can plug them in and they still charge fine then it's most likely nothing to worry about

I've been using the Arctis 5 for over a year now and usually bend them in the "no no" way that lots of people say leads to the hinges breaking (grabbing them by the ear cups to spread them out before putting them on my head) but I haven't had a single problem with the hinges squeaking or plastic cracking and they certainly haven't broken yet
