I mean think about it in a business sense. You don't create a limitless amount of stock because you risk putting yourself in a position where you have to sell off surplus in order to make it back to the profit line. Instead you produce x amount, sell your stock, and based off of how many units you sold in a given period of time and the current demand for said product, you can then gauge how many to produce.
