The newest versions of Nvidea game ready drivers are the culprit, somehow they break recording through moments, even manually asking to capture desktop shuts down almost immediately
Rolling back Nvidia driver to 581.80 (Nov 4) fixes it, but then you don't have DLSS 4.5

Best course of action is to report to both Steelseries and Nvidea and hope they iron it out since it's clearly a driver compatibility issue, but it effectively renders moments useless for recording

Nova 5 introduced the mobile app feature and came out after Nova 7 gen 1, which doesn’t have the required hardware to support the mobile app.

They’re working on bringing the mobile app to older headsets like Nova 7 gen 1 but there’s no timeline or guarantees

I have the artis nova 5 and no matter what I do, bluetooth, 2.4ghz pc, or phone, even bought a few extra pairs to make sure it isn't defective and I still somehow getting crackling audio and distortion on a specific song I'm trying to listen to on spotify. Changing the equalizer does nothing, changing the volume does nothing, sonar being on or off does nothing, Can't change the sample rate at all on windows, has no additional options so I haven't been able to test that but the song works fine on all my wired headphones. I understand there is no support staff here but they're not going to be particularly helpful and I already know this in advance.

Does anyone have ANY iota of a clue for a fix?

so I contacted support and they told me to try and uninstall the software and try re-installing it. It wipes ur configs and settings so do keep that in mind, but upon doing so the issue is resolved for me, so it might fix urs too possibly

Hi, I'm just getting into SteelSeries peripherals, and I wanted to replace my current Logitech Pro X (Wired) headphones. Their biggest problem for me is their weight (320 grams), which gives me headaches after a few hours (strangely enough, not my neck). I don't want to replace them so much for the sound because they sound pretty good; the only problem that's driving me to replace them is the weight. So I was looking for SteelSeries headphones that weren't too expensive, that were lightweight, and that sounded good, especially considering that I have an M Audio M Track Duo (sound card), so I'm looking for wired headphones. Although the fact that they're wired isn't really important, since I use the M Audio for other things as well.

If you open up SteelSeries GG App, then click Sonar on the left hand side. You will get this screen. Under Game/Chat/Mic click where it says 'Devices' for each, and set a default for whatever you want to playback your audio/use your mic. Once this is done, you shouldn't have the app change your default every time you boot up.

ah ur fine. Ye I managed to fix it after unintalling GG Software, via the uninstall exe. Then reinstalled it and ye it was all good past that. Do make note that u will loose ur settings and configs so, make sure to make a note on what all u have programmed and set up

Past that, I would put in a support ticket if it's still not resolved after u try this. Cause this is mainly what support told me to do

Cheers, hearing simply reinstalling worked for you made me try it once more - this time rebooting after uninstalling, and only after reboot reinstalling. That does appear to have fixed it 👍

Also closing literally every other application before installing (as is hinted on the installer 😅 )

I just got the Artics nova 5 headset for pc and my mic isnt working at all (headset is working though and it gets detected), and it doesnt detect in the steelseries gg app on Sonar, also everytime im on Steelseries gg it comes up that the device is not configured for Sonar, even though i press switch on both output and input it just pops up again

Many SteelSeries headsets come with Sidetone, which allow you to hear yourself through the headset’s mic for better clarity when talking.

For most headsets, the volume of the Sidetone can be lowered in SteelSeries Engine, which is part of GG. GG can be downloaded here: https://steelseries.com/gg Additionally, if your device has support in the Arctis Companion App, you can change this setting through the app on your phone.

I got a question about the nova pro wireless, did they butcher the chatmix feature that was built into the original arctis pro+gamedac? It was a built in feature into the dac that didnt require sonar.

reason why I ask is that my arctis pro is on the edge of its life because my cats would constantly yank the cable with their tail and send my headset flying off into the ground

I just dont like the idea of needing sonar for chatmix since I see so many people having issues with sonar all the time unless its user error.

Are we ever going to get something as awesome as the Apex 350?

The sheer amount of customizable buttons to the left because of the profile buttons, the extra buttons above the function keysand the media keys on the right, makes this the best keyboard ever. Also nice and quiet.

I couldn't game or use my computer without it but there is nothing similar like it on the market right now.

A new one with a oled display would be a instant but from me.

Ok so i moved the keyboard usb directly into the tower and the dac into the small USB hub, should have enough power and speed to not have any issue, its also a really good motherboard

The old dac only required one USB

if you would connect speakers to the same port, your PC would still see it as "Realtek Audio" device since its a port just for audio - no data

If you dont care for any sonar functions other than eq id either try to replicate the media profile in the engine settings if you got a ss engine or use peace apo 3rd party eq

Sonar was made for chatmix so multiple audio devices are made

Arctis nova pro wireless. i have a problem with my GG app, EVERY SINGLE TIME i have to go into gg and manually input my devices to get any sound. is there no way to save it so it loads automatic once i start my pc? :S

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in Sonar. Simply click on your devices in the Mixer and open the Device Manager in Sonar.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same Device Manager menu. Simply drag and drop to set the order of devices.
