If it's a warranty claim, then yeah, it has to be like this. If it didn't, you could just scam the support team into getting two or more of the same product. It also prevents the broken product from being repaired and resold

I would say that most problems with minijack headsets like that stem from not understanding combojack and awful sound cards

It very much relies on whatever you plug it into when it's a minijack headset so they can't really have much info on that when it's outside of their control

previous headset was the same set up, never had an issue with it, have it set as my default audio device, mic works but for some reason audio does not

Analog audio devices are headsets/speakers that use the 3.5mm headphone jack as the primary way to connect to the PC or console.

Please note that analog headsets use your on-board audio drivers to run the headset. Due to this, analog headsets are not compatible with SteelSeries Engine and will not show up on the device list in Engine.

If you are having audio issues, here's a few steps to try:

After a few years with steelseries I'm now switching them out. Having to restart the software 3-4 times for it to recognize the headset and after that having to take out the hardware from my computer several times to get it to connect again, it's just some BS.
And after a few weeks it suddenly recognizes the hardware only to last untill a update on the steelseries software or windows update and its all back too the same procedure. And my hubby have the same problem.

Hello, I'd like to share an interesting issue I experienced with my Nova 9 wireless today. My headphones suddenly shut off after a hissing sound. The dongle failed to connect. Furthermore, when I press the power button, the red light flashes for a second. I've never experienced this before. Hi. I've recently bought Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, and when the headset is connected to pc via 2.4 GHz, the sound quality is noticeably worse than when it's connected through Bluetooth to my phone. Sound is "muffled" and there is basically no bass and low tones. Is this a common problem and is there a solution for it? I will also add that they were fine out of the box and started acting out after a few weeks of using them.

have you installed gg software on your pc?

if you did that i absolutely recommend to disable the sonar feature because it makes the sound quality trash instead you can find an equalizer setting online that actually sounds good and apply to your headset's eq settings

I did install it, turned sonar off, fidgeted with EQ settings and uninstalled GG. Nothing seems to fix this issue - 2.4ghz just sounds bad. It was fine for first few months but then when I was using headset is started to emit sound like when you turn it on but continues so I removed battery to reset it and problems started from that moment...

you can redo all of the proccess then install all of the updates (software and firmware of the headset) if it doesn't solve the issue you can send it to the warranty and rma then you can return or replace the headset

those dont really fight, but my samsung buds 2 pro fight a lot with sonar or voicemeeter

here is your issue:
if you have something like this - the base or ps5 will try to ping if this source is still in contact, making it disconnect from pc
My recommendation - just unplug your ps5 when you dont use it and plug when you do

• you can set up "backup device" in sonar so it goes back when it deteces the old device as your mean (By going into device manager when selecting a device, its at the bottom)
  -# as a bottom line i want to say that i dont guarrantee the problem being solved that way, and im helping more as an experienced user of this product, rather then all-knowing employee

bc there is something then that "steals" your device from time to time, so has to be that, or either put into low priority usb port at your PC, or cannot draw more power to support it

odd question why does my steelseries aerox 5 wireless show that there is a firmware update only when plugged in via the cable they gave, and not while it's on via bluetooth or dangle?

p.s also only while it's plug to my pc via the fan that has extra usb ports... if i plug in directly no firmware update needed.

the firmware update starts at step 3 which makes no sense...

They have holes in them and still weigh like 68 74 grams.
They have RGB lights that add weight for no reason besides "looks cool". There are programmable thumb buttons that add more weight and are almost never used by competitive players. There are design features in the shapes themselves that seem to serve little purpose besides making the shell not smooth.
Also the batteries are another point where weight could be saved.
Now I don't wanna throw shade here, I own easily 10 SteelSeries mice.
I won't name it, but today you can get a 45 gram Kinzu shaped wireless mouse with a smooth shell, top of the line sensor and no holes for less than the Aerox 5 Wireless.

Again just sharing my objective critique here and hope for the best future SteelSeries mice.
