my arctis nova pro's first edition, after being out of warranty since last september , this year couple of months ago i noticed mic wire plastic covering was damaged and missing and i was getting static and crackle ./i wondered about how to fix it so on the off chance i contacted steelseries support asking exactly that./ the response left me in disbelief, they made me jump thru some hoops before asking me to destroy to receive a replacement . if i hadn't contacted to ask if they new a way to fix i would never have gotten a new headset. whatever anyone says about there support being horrible is wrong as they will help if they can and this supports always contact support

This is the cable that came with it. I got three cables. I got the USB-c, I got the one for the earphone jack for wired use and I got the one so I can put my dongle into my xbox for it's intended use

I’m seeking assistance with my Arctis Nova 7 WoW Edition headset dongle. For some reason, my PC doesn’t recognize it.

I’ve already tried:

Reinstalling the drivers

Using all available USB ports

Unfortunately, none of these steps worked. Interestingly, when I plug the dongle into my laptop, it works without any issues.

Do you have any recommendations on how to resolve this?

It has to be plugged in, but I'm confused by this. You said your PC doesn't recognise it unless it's plugged in, but it needs to be plugged in to work. Are you able to rephrase?

Could also be the switch on the dongle if it's meant for console and pc🥰

Really depends on your use case. Nova Pro Wireless has active noise cancellation with Transparency mode. The GameDAC that comes with it provides a variety of options to toggle through. You can also hot swap your battery as it charges in the GameDAC and will automatically turn on if you change them within a few seconds.

Both the wireless dongle and the keyboard itself needs to be connected to update, it's not required to use USB-C for either. You should be able to use the keyboard without updating though

What are the best windows sound settings for Sonar? I have multiple sound sources as most people do. Periodically the steelseries software will not have a sound source selected. Settings can be a little bit of a hassle without a PC but you can do most of it

You won't be getting all of the custom EQs without Sonar on a PC

The newer headsets with mobile app support are better for console only use imo

Just gonna say how much I appreciate the SteelSeries Arctis 7 Wireless

Maybe its not the best in terms of audio but in terms of features this headset has features that i would actually miss.

The original Arctis lineup of headphones have a SharePort which allows you to connect the headphone to another audio output device via a male to male 3.5mm cable.

I love this feature because I occasionally get tired of wearing the headphone, I connect my IEMs to it and still enjoy low latency wireless audio and I'm not bound to my PC because of a cable and i can just wear the headphone around my neck or something.

This feature also allows me to connect my headphone to a speaker via the same cable all the way at my bed and I don't have to suffer the range and latency issues that Bluetooth hits me with.

Then there's the next feature that i really love about the headphone, well the transmitter actually. The 2.4GHz transmitter has a Line In port.

This allows me to also feed external audio into the transmitter for it to be transmitted wirelessly to my headphone. My studio monitor speakers just died but i want to play my guitar without being bound by a cable.

The solution? Connect my audio interface's headphone out to the line in of the transmitter and i immediately have wireless low latency audio of my DAW so that i can enjoy playing my guitar.

I've noticed that the original Arctis lineup of headphones have slowly started becoming less and less available and i feel as though its been discontinued considering i cant even find the 7 wireless on SteelSeries's website. The newer Arctis Nova series headphones are actually trash in comparison to the Arctis Wireless series.

I get what you mean on the SharePort but I suspect that not many people used it so that's why they got rid of it. Nova Pro wireless has both a line in and line out.

Hi guys I have that issue does any one else faced something like that? When I try to adjust the volume using the Sonar app in streamer mode, the volume doesn't change until I change the app's output. For example, if I want my Spotify to play a little louder after adjusting the volume, I have to drag the Spotify app from the AUX output to the media output and back again for it to work. If you're using Corsair cables with a Corsair PSU it's probably fine. And I doubt your rig is hitting anywhere close to 1000 watts. You just wouldn't want to use some random cables on a PSU pulling a lot of power. That's a fire hazard waiting to happen

Yeah Shadow play only captures the default Windows output. Which is "Sonar - Game" when Sonar is enabled. Unfortunately there's no way to mix the channels

Yeah ive been using shadowplay with sonar for years now

Streamer mode helps that i can select what channels i want shadowplay to not record cus by default it records everything

Usually disable media channel for recording cus i listen to music while i play and dont want that in the clips

Its just an issue that you cant select your audio device through nvidia itself

But thats where windows audio mixer helps out

I don't think Streamer mode was a thing last time I actually used Shadowplay. I had another laptop with an Nvidia card that was my main computer several years ago but haven't really used Shadowplay since then

I never tried it with sonar. Without sonar volume goes up and down like usual, I can also turn on windows spatial (when lghub is not installed)

u have 2 routes, u can adjust volume in sonar or in windows settings, like in windows game bar etc

im guessing the headset doesnt have its own volume setting so thats making this an issue?
