Update> Succeeded in updating my drivers.
Restarted my PC, plugged Type-C to Type-A cable to the back panel USB 3.0 (was in front panel 2.0) and ran GG as an admin

theres another thing though, i can clearly listen to what my mic is picking up lol

and the only way for that not to happen is for me to mute the mic with the mic button (listen to this device is not on)

you can go into the fallback settings to remove it as an option from the list

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

Anyone have thoughts of ear pad replacements for your headset? This SteelSeries is the longest headset I have ever had. I'll be wearing eyeglasses intermittently, so preferring traditional foam over gel pads (do they just feel cool for a minute, then heat up to your temp.?)
Brainwaves offers more materials like leather and other PU, but then some change the sound.
WickedCushions has my model ear pads but folks reporting that although the ear pads are larger, in doing so decreased the inner opening for larger ears clearance. Any recommendations? High priority is comfort, second durability. <$50

Every time I turn on my desktop I have to reinstaller the GG engine otherwikse Sonar doesn't laujnch and it is super annoying. everytime you plug a new thing to your computer that is able to emit sounds, sonar automatically turns every outputs on it (which is super annoying). Without Sonar you can not have nice sound quality / tunable quality.

Steelseries engine was pretty good 4/5 yrs ago but now it is a rly bad software with plenty of useless features and forced to have an account

(not that this is my personnal thoughts and maybe you'll not have these issues ^^)

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

So just bought the arctis nova 5... audio quality is from the 80's when mic is activated in windows, when i deactivate the mic the audio is fine. but obviously the mic doesnt work for me together with the audio. What is this im trying to set it up for hours now.. in short: Mic + Audio activated = trash audio and only mono. Mic deactivated + Audio in 96k and seround sound = mic doesnt work. Sonar doesnt detect the mic also when I want to use the quality settings

I got a question. My partner and I both had an Arctis 1 Wireless, and it was great for a while, but one day the connections on both of our headsets went to crap with stuttering, disconnections, and audible glitches, even when sitting next to the receiver - obviously a problem with interference.

My partner picked up a new headset - a corsair HS80 - and has no connectivity problems since. I've been looking at new headsets too, but always come back to Steelseries because these cans are just so comfortable to me, and have been thinking about getting the 7X or 5X.

My question is, does the Nova 5X/Nova 7X have better wireless connectivity than tha Arctis 1 Wireless? Or does it perform about the same?

it's a pretty basic mouse so it's alright. you probably don't need the accessories

the mouse does already come with PTFE feet (i'm pretty sure) so there's no need to buy new ones unless you really want the ceramic ones

and the grips are just personal preference, so it's something that you should try the mouse first before figuring out if you wanna buy it

Every time I start my computer, I have to change the output in the sound settings to "Headphones (Arctis Nova Pro Wireless)." Then, I need to go into SteelSeries GG → Sonar and switch the playback device to "Headphones (Arctis Nova Pro Wireless)."

Is there a way to fix this so I don't have to do it every time I start my computer?

I've been running them for like 2 years now and when I first got them I thought the same but you have to do a little bit of tuning in the .GG sonar page or just even use the pre set configurations and once you do that they are by far the best headset I've owned

Hi, ive been a longtime user of Steelseries products ( arctis pro wireless, nova pro wireless ) but keep having connectivity issues with sonar i believe, where i have to disconnect the base station and reconnect it because the sound drops dead and the headset makes a loud static crunching noise ( and no other audio is heard untill i do so). customer support just says its nothing they can fix and i just have to deal with it but its really screwing with my mind. i did do a full system reset of my PC, reinstalled both windows and sonar, but to no effect. anyone else had something similair? losing all audio mid game can be very annoying when trying to communicate or listen for footsteps mid FPS. never had anything like this with my arctis pro wireless... -- Nova pro wireless

The software messed up my system... its funny that you have a discord link but sonar and discord doesnt work together. Your software changes my rgb lights in the pc (mainly the fans). Very sus what the software have access to.

Sonar actually does work with Discord. No idea how your RGB lights is being affected by GG. They probably aren't 🤷

I have not yet, but a temporary solution is to turn the sonar software to streamer mode, I'm going to try and look into the issue again tonight

I think the issue started because of the new software update they had so I may play around with that, maybe a file got corrupted

They are great, I have used astros for years and theyre a semi open back design so I couldnt do a closed back setup. I went with Byerdynamic 1990 Pro's. Fixed the issue I was having. I still use the sonar software for EQ'ing them and it sounds fantastic
