i figured out why my steelseries nova pro wireless pc version game sounds are so silent and discord so loud.. it was simple fix.. i just had to adjust "chatmix" from external device which charges battery 😄

3 weeks wasted what could have been awesome gameplay time xD

Stopped using the software, causes way too many issues when you're using multiple devices. Causes too many conflicts with drivers that eventually requires you to uninstall software, clear all drivers and re-install. Headset works better without it.

If it is for audio playback you can install EQ-APO and get nearly unlimited PEQ/GEQ and even plugins working. If it is for recording you can also add some noise suppression with specific plugins in there and it works across all of windows, even hdmi outputs 7.1ch with per channel correction even for a sub.

id use dts sound unbound from the microsoft store if you are using it for gaming to get really good 7.1 audio, i can explain easily how it works as independent channels without more than 2 actual drivers. id use EQ-APO if thats the only hiccup as you can basically do anything you want, plus preamp, and virtual 7.1 that is really good.

you can spend 10k on speakers and they can sound bad depending on the room they are in. family had a high end audio store physical location.

let me put it this way. i had an oppo bdp 105 bluray player which had a phenomenal almost hotrodded in OEM form, for analog outputs, i ran it direct into amps. i used eq-apo and a measurement mic with room eq wizard and adjusted every speaker in my place i had 7.1ch at the time. everything through windows was EQ'd on every channel even the subwoofer. yeah you probably cant in sonar, youd need eq-apo

bottom option is probably going to be easiest for you unless you have exact PEQ already figured out

yeah its marked as unsaved so its not active, it needs to be the default file in its default location from teh first one opened in EQ-APO

C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config\config.txt

save that file and open it in notepad and then copy it to that config.txt

then hit the open icon in EQ-APO and open the config.txt, can edit from there and it should be active.

sounds like an uninstall eq-apo and delete any folders in the appdata folders for roaming/local/and so on then install again because it should start by default with a config file open, and saved in that location or something similar because we have different versions.

hmmmmm.. you can hear changes now or does it need a restart? is that without any EQ, that is bizarre. the file you were messing with that has some EQ points if you have that from a sec ago, open it in notepad or if you have it in eqapo somehow, you can control+A to select all, then control+C and then move to the config file and control+v to paste

they take this, a dummy with ear canals and ear shapes, speakers that have flat frequency response (accurate as heck), and then whatever the dummy microphone picks up for 7.1, it applies a filter for each direction of that 7.1 and applies it per actual 7.1 from a game.

it changes it but barely, and for gaming, i cant go without it. the dolby one i dont like as footsteps are tinny sounding but dts is superb. you can hear stuff behind you, in some games that have height sound, you can hear above and below

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

what are you talking about 20$ external mic's are the worst. I use the Alias Pro and it is a good mic. best mic's you can get are from Rode but there you will pay a Lot of Money.

The mic on the wired Nova headsets is an improvement over the old Arctis mics. If you have a wired Nova headset, you will hear an improvement in the overall quality with the Nova Pro Wired. But any wired mic will sound significantly better than the Nova Pro Wireless mic

I have both. Bought the Nano to be a travel mic but gave it to my gf awhile back. The Nano is able to record higher quality audio than the Yeti (24 bit vs 16 bit) so it is technically "better"

If you're having trouble getting the sound you want out of it, try using it with Sonar. It'll let you set up a custom EQ (and has some good presets already) that'll help you get the sound you're looking for out of it. I use it on my Yeti and it sounds a lot better than the default sound profile

Headset mics can definitely be decent. The Nova series mic is generally "fine" but a dedicated USB mic will always offer better quality than even a Nova Pro Wired

it seems like SS Apex 7 red will be my main keyboard from now. I took it to test whether the switches and build would fit me, keeping my main kb akko pc75b plus as a backup I'd go back to if I wanted to return it.
It's not possible since I had a break in and the Akko keyboard was one of the things thieves stole 🙃

Good thing I'm getting used to Apex 7 red, although I was hoping if i really liked it i could return it and get the one with Omni switches

analog devices like the nova 1 are dependant on how the system's audio drivers work. some audio drivers do jack detection, some don't and just have the audio jack active at all times
