IMHO the average person doesn't really need or take advantage of hi res audio that the Pros give so i usually just recommend the lowest price wireless headset that meets your needs. the nova 5 is pretty good and it retails for $130, and if you want the BT or Chatmix features on the 7 then it's probably worth the extra

does anyone have any idea why my steelseries app makes my discord streams so laggy? i've upgraded my ram to see if that would solve my issue, but i'm still having a problem where if i have my steelseries app open when i go to stream a game to friends in discord, that my audio becomes super staticy and my game lags like crazy.

idk if it'll help you and anybody with the same issue but it worked for me:

1. Delete SteelSeries GG
2. Manually reset your headphones (different for every headset so check SS website on how to do it)
3. Install SteelSeries GG
4. Reboot your PC
5. Boot SteelSeries GG and set your Sonar settings
6. If the error still appears, try to manually reset your headset once again... Also turning your headset on/off and re-plugging Bluetooth adapter might help (if ur headset is wireless as mine)
7. Enjoy
   Hope it'll help at least somebody, but imho that's crazy how app devs could make an update without testing/bugfixing
   P.S. Sry if you didn't understand something, my english is pretty poor so you can ask me here/pm so I could re-phrase it...

Every PC seems to detect the Nova pro wireless headphones for charging in the usb port but the device is not detected for firmware updates in this port. @orchid pecan Mechanical Keyboards can be an absolute joy to type on and listen to. There's tons of different switches with different force, feel and sound. Get yourself a tester (for example: https://www.amazon.com/GATERON-Keyboard-Switches-Kangaroo-Mechanical/dp/B0D1QG4SMP).
Either you don't find one you like, or you've just potentially found yourself a very expensive and obscure little hobby.

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

great headset i love mine. make sure you have your live mic preview disabled on the headset settings AND on your operating system. on windows 10 its under your mic properties, just make sure you have listen to this device disabled @static bridge

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.
