My chatmix wheel doesn't work at all ATM on my Arctis 7+. I can see the dial in the app responding to me changing it on the physical headset, but it doesn't actually do anything.
This started recently, as well as ALL gaming sound not working until I change my system output device off of steelseries-gaming and back... each time I launch the app

exceptionally annoying --- any ideas?

If I change just the playback level of chat it changes everything.

how do I make steelseries sonar always use my headphones as output whenever they're available?

i know i can select it, but its very annoying to select it every time i reconnect my headphones which is daily even multiple times

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

hey all im new here! i have an issue with my steel series arctis nova pros

when i turned off my pc last night the screen on the base station (i have the wireless ones) went blank. when i turned my pc on this morning the screen didnt come on nothing happening. i tried plugging it into my ps5 and same issue its like the base station is totally dead. If i plug in an aux in and out too the headphones it has a really high pitched noise that doesnt change regardless of distance too the base which makes me thing like maybe an earth issue or something? which is odd because for the most part except for putting batteries in and out it doesnt move at all. Has anyone had anything similar and did you manage to fix it? or any suggestions they were a gift some im not able to warranty it :/

I've had mine a few weeks now and it's so unpredictable. It's never shown in the Engine. I have all the pc settings to use the nova by default for all sound. Just wanna ask here. So i have one faulty battery for artics nova pro wireless. I contacted support they dont want to ship battery (shipping for batteries is disabled in EU for unknown reason). is anybody else having so many darn problems with the software combined with arctis 5? I keep getting mic sidetone when I first start up, even though I have it disabled. Steelseries sonar keeps cutting audio every 5 seconds when I use it, and when I don't use it my chatmix doesn't work because only the chat chanel gives audio. game chanel is just silent. I hate it and the support tickets aren't doing anything about it

the arctis 5 predates sonar so features like chatmix should work without sonar being on. if you can't get it working without sonar, there might be a hardware issue to look into.

when i use steel series sonar, it sets the default output device of my PC to gaming regardless of whether im watching a movie or listening to music

that's just how sonar works. something needs to be the default output, so sonar opts for "game" to be the default so you don't have to fuss about in windows when in a full screen game

you can set the outputs of other apps in sonar's routing or in windows

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

I believe so. Look into using Sonar for streaming, it can combine your mic and an audio channel in Sonar

this problem is called "crosstalk" and generally means there's a physical issue, either with the headset or the ports on your PC

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.
