so i have a new issue im about 2 seconds from snapping these headphones in half

i just did a firmware update and it turned the headphones off and on and now windows/gg wont detect the headset at all. its paired to the base stations ive tried re-pairing it, restarting my PC nothing

i feel ya, i got mine off recommendation and imma get that corsair one since its what my bf has. he said the only thing is that the mic makes you quiet, so you use the application to fix that. thats his only grievance with it, which is something you can alternate

i'm not even a gamer,i just use discord a LOT, and i've heard a lot of good things about mechanical keyboards, i got the red switches, basically it's a matter of i just want it really bad hahahaha

the funny thing is i now need a new keyboard because while i was trying to clean off my desk i dropped the one i currently have (old model logitech membrane keyboard) and now the space bar, left shift, and some of the letters are questionable. heh.

Yeah, getting a ticket and actually getting help fast on these issues besides trying the 'did you turn it off and on again' is very end user friendly, please update support that people that spend like $170+ currently have issues with their product due a buggy firmware... - ive updated my ticket but i really do dislike getting getting generalized even if I put in stuff like which firmware and hardware I am running to being told to unplug it, i know the protocol but man this is annoying - Is steelseries HW not able to go back in firmware? Usually whenever Windows 11 updates, I have to reinstall SteelSeries GG to resolve the issue where Sonar breaks after every forced Windows update. However, this update I reinstalled the SteelSeries application which shows Sonar as working with my headset (Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Playstation) connected, but no Audio is coming through after repairing and resetting the PC or reloading SteelSeries app as an Administrator. Headset and Audio DAC are working as I have it connected to another PC via headphone input and use Bluetooth at the same where all audio just works.

The only solution to get it working was to roll back to when Windows was it was first updated and it restored SteelSeries app (Basically I restored the application back to where Sonar is broken and haven't reinstalled) but now Sonar is stuck on a permanent "Turning Sonar on..." loading icon. This was done twice.. .

Is this a trending issue or have a known workaround for Sonar to work again?

@near gardentry this uninstall gg completely removing the steelseries directories left behind in c:/program files and c:/programdata do not reboot instead open a cmd with admin rights at the prompt type or copy and paste DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth let that run then download install ccleaner free copy scan registry and anly review and fix the steelseries or gg entries reboot install a fresh copy of gg

you can roll back firmware by downloading an old version of gg with the old firmware and plugging in the keyboard while holding the scroll wheel and media button. this should prompt an update when you open engine

Okay i never would have thought that i would be so disappointed in a Headset. I love the Arctis Nova Pro. But all of my friends are complaining, that i sound absolute rubbish when i speak in Discord. We tried everything. Disabled every Sound Settings in Discord, so it runs over Sonar. Sounds like rubbish. Disabled Sonar and let it run over Discord Sound Settings. Sounds like rubbish.

A Mic this bad is absolutely unacceptable for a 300 Dollar Headset. im speechless.

hello, i am new to this software, but im running into an issue where when i turn off my headset, the preset i made for the headset all reset on its own. all of these were swapped to my monitor sound instead once i turn of the headset. how can i prevent this from happening

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

Why is SteelSeriesGG absolutely dog shiz? everyday I have to manually switch input and output to both Steel Series devices, EVEN after I turned off the setting for GG Sonar to connect other devices with high prority in the place of absent devices that havent been found yet. So no other device should be connecting to my In & Out. On top of that when i have to switch Input and Output, the moment I click the Sonar tab on GG, i have this consistent issue with Sonar loading in an infinite circle over and over until I restart my PC and boot up Sonar again. this program has given me nothing but issues since I downloaded it.

anyone had GG just refuse to load? I just restarted my PC and two restarts now it's not loading. No messages in Event Viewer, it's not stuck in the background as nothing is in Task Manager at all. It was working before I restarted. Not sure if it got the new update or not today

Ok fixed it by manually downloading and installing from the website. This is why you need to give users back the ability to choose when to update instead of forcing updates. I think it was updating itself when I decided to restart the first time. The SteelseriesGG.exe listed itself somehow as version 64.0.0 when hovered over, but had a very old date. Now it still shows 64.0 .0 but with a June date

The active and reactive layers work perfectly fine and display the exact colours that I assigned on the GG Engine, however, the "Idle" layer only activates for my mouse and not my keyboard even though it has identical configurations and is perfectly connected. This update fixed the device select for sonar chat, before I couldn't use the chat bar and had to send all my chat items to another spot. Glad they fixed that, was getting tired having to turn music down in the app so I could turn up the chat volume.
