yeah what's weird about that is that a lot of people are really REALLY struggling to get past the bots, and for a lot of these people English isn't their first language, that's why I've assembled a team of translators and why I've felt the need to help because people just end up getting told to refund their stuff and I think that's wrong....

@radiant gorge I just checked some internet info and apparently DAC works on usb 2.0 and cables provided are also 2.0, so I guess connecting it to 3.2 don’t make sense

from discord, and sonar is the issue.

reinstalling didnt fix it this time, does anyone know any good alternative audio software to sonar? and can it be sync'd with my headset's game/chat mixer dial?

I often have issues with sonar and I'm tired of fixing them. Lmk if anyone has a definitive fix for audio fading because of sonar.

Sonar is imho the biggest bs that has ever been created

Everyday i start my pc my output device got changed, my mic got changed and sometimes this crappy clearcast "AI" noise cancellation is activated (but I deactivated it) - even tho I changed my priority in the "backup device switch" (Whyever this setting is so hidden) 🙂

Any ETA when Steelseries will release a usable software?

the first thing you want to do is make sure all the devices you want are selected, then go to settings> scroll down> backup device switch, turn that all off

Once you've done this reboot your PC and you will see that you don't need to change the devices back anymore

when that's done I'll go through the audio with you

i think i found the issue. i was still having the issue, so while messing around i changed windows default mic to my raw mic. i changed it back to steelseries and its working. but i still had issues with the mic just not working. its strangely working again

Hi, I have an arctis pro wireless that Im using now but Im missing the optional power cable and the optical cable that comes with the headset. I tried to find both of these cables at a store near my work but I didnt manage to find any, exept for an optical cable that I bought but it didnt fit :/

Nahimic and GG are the same only differnce is that GG offers alot more customization

With analog usually it's easy to troubleshoot. Could be that the mute switch is enabled/defective, or bad cable, or your host (machine or console) has it muted

Quick test is to try the headset on a different device to see if the issue persists or not

Those sources have to be present/active when the reboot happens, otherwise it will fall back to the next available device. If something is off when you boot, it won't choose it.

So I use my own Sonar settings for sound quality.
Since yesterday every time I start my PC I do not have any Sound coming off my headphones unless I change the settings manually over and over again to "Headphones(Arctis Nova7)".
When I start the PC the setting is defaulted to "Realtek Digital Output"

Pretty sure your headset needs to be powered on prior to booting up. If the headset doesn't exist/isn't connected to Windows when Sonar runs, it won't select it because it's not present

Someone else can chime in on if Sonar better handles device defaults with something else, but that's what I've run into in the past

It would only be the right one. Make sure you have the correct input selected. Also make sure if you are using a single plug that it supports TRRS (game audio + mic). If the motherboard does not support it, you need to use the splitter than came with your Nova 1, and plug one into the headphone jack, and the other into the mic jack

Hey, I have some hard to explain problem with Nova Pro. When I'm using headset (either in ANc or not), there's this milisecond very subtle "tick" (like some static tick, sorry, really hard to explain) in left earpad I think. It's very quite, not regular, but enough noticeable to annoy me. Is this due to connection issue with the headset or some technical issue and I should return the headset? I read that interference from 2.4ghz might causing it? I have my router pretty close to me (1m in straight line, same as DAC, also 1m).

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.

Check your range settings, maybe it will help to change form speed to range?

I have arctis nova 7 headset and I use it with ps5. All sounds from my microphone are transmitted on Discord. Including noises and key sounds. Even if I lower the microphone level, my voice is very low. Is there any way to fix this? ??

im trying to route discord to be in the proper levelers in Sonar. but it is under the master leveler. everytime i drag it. it goes back to the master? anybody know how i can fix that

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

Is GG crashing for anyone else? Every time I walk away from my PC and my monitor turns off after a few minutes, GG crashes and relaunches repeatedly. I'm sure I'm messing something up and doing something wrong and that's why it's not working, but the fact is I haven't done anything which isn't normal usage, and I now cannot use my device. The fact is, that's a bad customer experience, and I, as a customer, or someone else as a less informed customer, is going to conclude that the company doesn't care, and not buy from steel series again. My support from Logitech on the other hand, has been excellent, my support from Dell has been unrivalled. It makes a difference.
