Hello, i have a steelseries keyboard with the oled, and so far haven't changed the logo because if i add an animation there it gets rid of the infos at the top (profile, actuation, caps lock etc)
I want to keep these but also play an animation at the bottom. I noticed if you draw it in the steelseries software it works. but if you import an animation from a file it gets rid of the top bar. How can i keep the infos but also have an animation?

Hello, every time I turn on the engine, i have to switch these outputs manually. Any suggestions, how can I save my time?

SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.

Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.

This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in Sonar. Simply click on your devices in the Mixer and open the Device Manager in Sonar.

You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same Device Manager menu. Simply drag and drop to set the order of devices.

Hey, I've got an issue with my Apec Pro Mini wireless. a few weeks back my profile changed after a windows update and it deleted all the changes I did to tyhe config and my onboard profiles and now I can't set the Tilde ~ to my dual bindings. The GG software also saysd that there's a firmware update for my kayboard, but when I hit Click to install, nothing happens.

GG Version is 110.0.0 (latest version) and the Keyboard's Firmware version is 2.24.0/3.24.0

Any idea how to fix either of these issues? I've already restarted and reinstalled the program several times and restarted my Pc twice and the issue wonh't clear up

Task manager says it's open, but I can't actually enter the app. Even if I kill the processes and open it again.

After the update to GG yesterday, and after restarting the PC, unplugging mykeyboard, etc, the Engine tab won't seem to load. Like, not only does it not recognize the keyboard, but the page itself never loads. Anything I should try short of reinstalling GG?

Hey, I ran into the same issue after the 110.0.0 update and spent some time digging into it. Here's what's actually going on:

The cause:
The 110.0.0 installer doesn't finish replacing files properly. It writes new files as .tmp alongside the old ones, but never completes the rename step — it just silently closes. I had 43 orphaned .tmp files left in C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\GG\. It also loses a config file called dbconf.yml that tells GG where its database is.

Without that file, GG either crashes on launch or opens with broken tabs (Engine won't load, Moments won't load, "oops something went wrong", etc).

I checked Windows Event Viewer to make sure it wasn't my antivirus or permissions blocking it — nothing. The installer even created a system restore point successfully, so it definitely had admin rights. It just didn't finish its own job.

How to fix:
Honestly, just reinstall. Download the installer from the official site, uninstall GG first this time, then install fresh. It's faster and simpler than trying to manually recover the broken files.

The irony is that the update prompt specifically said "You DO NOT need to uninstall the current version of GG" — and that's exactly what causes this mess.

Maybe it's the reason that you use your mic as a speaker, which is a paradox. You can't use a mic to outplay sounds. It's only needed to record sounds.

You can try two things:

1. If the device is chosen automatically from Windows, then you have to choose your standard mic manually in the settings.
2. If it's only a GG thing, then I'd say choose the mic you want to use, then when it says that the devices are mixed or something like that, then select "only change output" and click the box to ignore this for 30 days, so you won't be bothered by it. Then hit the blue box and there you go

At first I honestly had a bit of trouble with the Omni, because compared directly to the Nova Pro Wireless it initially felt a bit “tamer” and quieter. But that was also because I tested it right away at full volume while my ears were still adjusted to the more aggressive sound signature of the Wireless.

Then I spent some time tweaking things on PC with SteelSeries GG / Sonar and realized the trick was to listen at a slightly lower volume first and give myself a bit of time to adjust. After that, the sound suddenly came across completely differently, and now the Omni honestly sounds really strong — clean, punchy, and still very detailed.

I also enabled the audio enhancement on console, which adds even more impact. Sure, you could say you shouldn’t really have to do that with a headset in this price range, but once it’s properly set up, it really delivers.

On top of that, the Omni is noticeably more comfortable for me than the Nova Pro Wireless. The softer ear cushions and the improved noise cancelling make a huge difference during longer sessions.

Enable streamer mode and then you SHOULD be able to route your mic as the stream output and then you can also play music through your mic but that’s a thing in your actual settings

Can anybody help me? Whenever I go into Sonar now it says that my Arctis Nova Pro Wireless arent connected. It has a little logo that shows "no wireless" next to it and I have tried everything to get it connected. Side buttons are pretty hard to press, the amount of force that is needed is pretty even across all 12 buttons but button labeled as "8" require a little more pressure. this button is right under my thumb.

Hey guys, something weird happened recently.

i use the Arctis Pro for like 2 years now.
and for the time also GG sonar.
and then yday something happend, that i got like soundcrack. like i put divverent apps on the different sound channels and for some weird reason, its a crrzling sound that sounds like earrape.

What is causing this?
happened from one to the other day.

Edit: and it also happens when different apps get swapped betweekn the channels, like if software is fuzzing things up.
sadly i am at my witts end after few hrs of testing.

OMG solution:

in GG sonar, the AUX channel, is not allowed te be selcted ( Headphones arctis pro wireless chat )
that casues it.

After i swapped it back to wirelss game, all the weird sound interactions stopped.
Every channel can handle its app on its own again.

As always, its the stupid user causing the problems ahahahahhah _:D

SOLVED - Connecting Sonar & Voicemeeter Banana with Arctis Nova 5x PC only

I need help configuring sonar with VMB. I have a stream comp that I am using VMB to send the gaming audio/discord to from gaming computer.
However to use the 5x’s I need to use Sonar to use ChatMix. I can configure sonar to work with either transmitting gaming audio or discord. But the minute I select the other track to transmit to VMB it says something went wrong.

However, the Arctis Nova 5x only exposes one channel by default (without sonar), and additional channels ("Sonar - Gaming" and "Sonar - Chat") appear only after installing Sonar.

My understanding is that input sent to Sonar - Gaming is processed by Sonar and then sent to the Arctis Nova 7X. Therefore, I configured it so that game sounds are sent to Voicemeeter, which then sends them to Sonar - Gaming and Sonar - Chat. However, this setup resulted in a message from Sonar stating, "Something went wrong. Please check the device status or select another device," and it did not work.

I also tried the reverse configuration. I sent game sounds to Sonar - Gaming, and then had Sonar send the output to Voicemeeter. Finally, I attempted to send the output from Voicemeeter to the Arctis 5X. However, since the Arctis 5X only exposes one channel, it was impossible to separate game sounds from chat sounds. Thus, I concluded that this reverse setup is also not feasible.

I’m about to go insane as to why this won’t work. Please Does anyone have any guidance?

I had to enable streamer mode to allow Sonar to output to multiple sources (headset and VM) at the same time. Hopefully this helps anyone else in future

Best bet is to google your issue tbh. It's how I found out my Nova Pro Wireless' static sound issue is caused by interference from 2.4gHz wifi broadcasting. Which is most wifi by default. And there's no support or fix for it in the works, hasn't been since I got these a few years ago.

I am experiencing an issue with my SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless keyboard.

The RGB lighting on the keyboard is no longer working. The keyboard remains completely black, with no colors displayed.

When I open SteelSeries GG and go to Prism, I can select different color presets or choose custom colors, but the keyboard does not respond at all. None of the lighting effects are applied, and the RGB LEDs stay turned off.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the SteelSeries GG software, but the issue persists.

the earcup cushions are designed to seal the ear so that ANC works better, so messing with the cushions can lead to the sound profile changing. you can buy replacements from steelseries or go with a third party option like wicked cushions

Context is I have a Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and need sonar's EQ to make the mic not sound like a $2 earbud. The virtual cable I need to select for output in the sonar mixers for Game, Chat, and Mic are gone (again).
I have restarted, uninstalled the app fully (Ver 110.0.0), uninstalled the Sonar Virtual Drivers from Device Manager, disabled then eventually removed all Realtek, Sonic Studio, and Nvidia audio drivers and software to prevent conflicts, cleared the driver stores of all audio drivers and reinstalled them.
I don't have any crash logs but can pull them if told where to look.

Anyone have trouble with discord's attenuation while using sonar? I'm playing Diablo 4 and want to quiet the game when people are speaking. However, increasing the attenuation slider in discord is doing the exact opposite. The game volume doesn't change, and I can't hear the speaker at all.

I unmute the sound from the system tray and turn up the volume, but it automatically moves it back to 0 then mutes. SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni issue summary:

Headset hardware was working fine earlier today. After installing SteelSeries GG, running the firmware update, and then Windows Update/re-enumeration, Windows audio broke badly.

Symptoms:

• Physical headset still enumerates.
• GG can see the device and firmware versions.
• Windows volume for the headset snaps to 0.
• In Windows Sound settings, the volume value shows as -2147483648 / INT_MIN.
• Registry inspection shows the endpoint appears to have a 0,0 volume range, so Windows treats the only valid volume as zero/muted.
• Manually flipping mute state works temporarily, but opening Windows Sound settings causes it to clamp back to zero.
• Fresh device re-enumeration recreates the same bad settings.
• Reinstalling GG did not fix the physical endpoint, but did add the GG/Sonar virtual devices.

We tried:

• Uninstalling GG/Sonar.
• Removing headset devices.
• Rebooting/unplugging/replugging.
• Registry backup and endpoint inspection.
• Comparing against a known-good audio device.
• TrustedInstaller-level edits and device reset/re-enumeration.

Current theory:
The bad value is not just stale registry corruption. Windows appears to be regenerating the bad endpoint state from the device/driver/firmware descriptor path after re-enumeration. GG can talk to the hardware, but Windows’ USB audio endpoint reports or stores an impossible volume range, causing Sound settings to force mute/zero.

In plain English: the headset worked, then GG/firmware/Windows update touched it, and now Windows believes the headset has no valid volume range except zero.

I am experiencing an issue with my SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless keyboard.

The RGB lighting on the keyboard is no longer working. The keyboard remains completely black, with no colors displayed.

When I open SteelSeries GG and go to Prism, I can select different color presets or choose custom colors, but the keyboard does not respond at all. None of the lighting effects are applied, and the RGB LEDs stay turned off.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the SteelSeries GG software, but the issue persists.

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

3. If you are having issues with step 2 or step 3 above, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

If you see the "Sonar did not allow this app to change outputs" error, then step 1 above did not work, and you may need to do step 2 or step 3 to route your audio.

It looks like our account service is having some issues right now, so you may not be able to login to GG. We're looking into it.

You can skip login by clicking on "I don't have an account" and then going to "Skip this step for now". This'll skip the login and let you access Engine for any device changes or firmware updates. You will not be able to access Sonar or Moments until you are able to login. If you're already logged in, you should still be able to use Sonar and Moments.

Issue: Left and right audio channels are swapped (reversed) in Fortnite with my new Arctis headset.
What I already tried:

Turned Sonar completely off in SteelSeries GG → issue remains
Wore the headset backwards → same problem
Windows: Checked balance (L+R both 100%), disabled Spatial Audio / Windows Sonic, disabled all sound enhancements, tried different sample rates
Updated firmware (just finished)
In Fortnite: Set Spatial/3D Audio to Off, Output to Stereo/Headphones, selected Arctis device directly instead of Sonar
Tested with Creative 3D Audio Test Map (3623-6761-5536) and YouTube left/right stereo tests

The problem is very noticeable in Fortnite (footsteps and gunshots come from the wrong side). It’s less obvious in YouTube/Spotify.
Has anyone had this issue with Arctis Nova 7? Any driver fix or channel swap solution?

unfortunately you can't set the default in sonar. you can change it in windows, but sonar will just set it back to gaming the next time GG/Sonar starts up.

Analog audio devices are headsets/speakers that use the 3.5mm headphone jack as the primary way to connect to the PC or console.

Please note that analog headsets use your on-board audio drivers to run the headset. Due to this, analog headsets are not compatible with SteelSeries Engine and will not show up on the device list in Engine.

If you are having audio issues, here's a few steps to try:

• Reseat all cable connections to verify they are fully plugged in. The 3.5mm connection will require that the cable be plugged in fully for correct audio. Make sure all connections are clean and free of dirt. Additionally, please check that you have the correct end of the cable plugged into your PC, as some SteelSeries Nova headsets have unique cables that must have the correct end plugged into the headset.

• Verify that you are plugging the headset into the correct port. Some PCs may have split headphone and microphone audio jacks, so using a splitter for these devices is required to make the mic work. Check your PC's manual or specs to see which type of headphone port you have. Additionally, if you are on a desktop PC, it's recommended to use the rear audio ports on your motherboard for audio, rather than the ports on your PC case.

• Check for audio driver updates from your PC manufacturer. Sonar can also be used with analog headsets. Please make sure your Sonar outputs are set to the on-board audio device that is driving the headset. These are usually named "Realtek" or "Intel" depending on your PC.

Having issues with the Rival 3 Wireless DPI/CPI settings, specifically in relation to the GG Software. Currently, all of the CPI values I have entered into the GG software's CPI levels range from 17000 to 18000. However, when I use the mouse button 6 to cycle through these levels, my CPI is clearly nowhere near 17000 to 18000. It moves as if the CPI values are the default levels. I click save, nothing changes. I've turned it on and off multiple times. I unpackaged it some 30 minutes ago. It is slow as a brick.
