Hey, I have a problem where my boys can hear themselves and my voice on Discord when I stream the entire screen. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Due to a bug in Discord's screen capture, Discord may capture Sonar outputs as part of the desktop audio, which can lead to echoing when screen sharing.

This issue can be fixed by setting Discord's capture to only capture a specific app. Application capture will only play audio from the selected app, and will not erroneously capture Sonar audio.

Alternatively, if you'd still want to capture the full desktop, you can use Sonar's streamer mode to manually choose what audio to send over your mic, and mute the stream sharing audio. More information on how to do this is in the links below.

Good evening! Yesterday I purchased the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 (previously I used the 2019 Arctic 7 wireless headphones), and when I connect them via the radio channel, I notice a slight white noise or a high-pitched squeak in my right ear (I don't know how to describe it in words, but even when I turn down the volume on the headphones to zero, the noise remains). On my previous headphones, I only noticed white noise at maximum volume, but it was resolved by reducing the volume to 70%. via bluetooth connection this noise is a little quieter is the norm for these headphones can they synchronize through the right ear or is it a marriage can there be owners of Nova 7 here who can tell. Ok, well when you click to stream on discord there's a button that says share audio,so it can sometimes pick up your voice through game chat but d
I believe when your talking through the Mic it is either some how picking up the audio twice depending on what head set you have or perhaps just need a slight adjustment in steelseries gg to adjust it to only pick up your voice when it's speaking a bit louder so it doesn't pick up echo or anything.

I have the steel series nova 3p wireless it was working fine no issues i had taken out the dongle from pc took the mic out put it in box to bring everything to my house from another and now i have the dongle plugged in it Bluetooth connects to pc but it sounds distorted and crackling noise when listening to music or playing the game

I need help setting up my artic pro series headset to my OBS. For what ever reasoning it's not recording on my OBS when I switch my input from 1 to 2 on the control panel that came with the headset. It works for input 1 but not for input 2 on my OBS. The mic works but the headset speakers don't work in input 1 in OBS. But when the I switch it to input 2 the hear in game the game recording stope working and my mic stops working too.

Been in contact with support since discovering it, with no resolution. Curious if anyone has it working? I primarily use on my gaming PC and console, but the multiple sources were a key reason I justified the $600 purchase. Seems pretty clear the installed build isn't capable of running on the newer silicon macs, from the error?

the problem is that it isn't. I have software installed, I have Sonar enabled. Dac doesn't react to pressing the volume knob neither on the headset nor on the DAC. If I turn off the Sonar and turn it back on (which helped yesterday, but doesn't today) the sonar icon on the DAC shows up for a second and disappears.

It's an issue that's common in the Nova Pro and it's been on and off for like two years now

Anyone else having an issue with Sonar where the chat/game mix on the Nova 7 has no effect AND I can't select any other output anymore in Sonar? It only comes through my headset, where as yesterday (and years now) it will switch to my speakers when I tell it. Now it says Speakers but only does headset, and the chat mix dial does nothing.

Rebooted several times, unplugged the USB-C, tried multiple games and discord, same issue persists. Trying to navigate the official support but it's a nightmare.

UPDATE : It works now, after 6 reboots and a reinstall. I think the best option now is to get a new setup and skip Sonar from here out.

I bought a SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X Gen 2 yesterday.
The headset audio works perfectly, but the microphone is not working at all.

It doesn't record any audio in apps or software. For example, it doesn't work on WhatsApp Web, and also doesn't detect input in other applications.

I already checked all the microphone permissions in Windows, and everything seems to be enabled correctly.

Has anyone experienced this issue before or knows how to fix it?

I used to be able to move discord to chat channel, but lately I can only have it in master. I can still move my game sound to any channel. It seems to let me if I'm in a server call, but not a group chat call.

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

3. If you are having issues with step 2 or step 3 above, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

If you see the "Sonar did not allow this app to change outputs" error, then step 1 above did not work, and you may need to do step 2 or step 3 to route your audio.

common issue ! i had this too
first of, Kill the Software: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager. Look for SteelSeries GG, right-click it, and select End Task to make sure it's completely closed.
then Unplug Everything: Disconnect your headset's USB cable and the wireless dongle from your PC.
Power Cycle: Turn the headset OFF and then back ON again.
Reconnect: Plug the USB cable and the dongle back into your PC (try a different USB port if it was stuck before).
Retry: Start the SteelSeries GG software again. In most cases, the red banner "Update Available" should reappear at the top. Click it again to restart the process.

the EU thing is there since it's EU law that headsets can only get so loud, so that question controls the volume limiter. you should be able to change it, the setting is usually called Gain or Volume Limiter in the settings. pretty sure for the nova pro it's called Gain

Hello, I can’t seem to get any sound from my headset at all. I haven’t even used it yet just set it up. I haven’t the GG app and my headset is paired to the hub and it even recognises it on my pc to pick as a sound option but yet still not sound. I have made sure it is the default device for sound and communication and have tried both steelseries sonar and just the headphones option for it but still nothing. The only thing I can assume is that the hub has a battery bar and it’s always 0 by the looks of things ? I’ll attach a photo. Cheers

i'm experiencing the same. do you have nvidia gpu? mine stopped working directly after I updated my driver so I'm 95% sure the driver update broke the gg app (again... this also just happened the end of last year and was only fixed a month or two ago).
if this is your issue, rolling back to the last driver update should fix, i just reinstalled v591.86 and restarted and it's back to normal for me now

Do the Sonar only work via 2.4 G connection and not the Bluetooth connection?
I tried testing it that way and the app on PC doesn't recognize the Bluetooth.

sonar should work with bluetooth, but it'll have limited functionality (Engine won't recognize the device, chatmix wheel on the headset won't work, audio quality might be degraded if you also use the mic)

Has anyone been having issues after updating firmware on the Artics Nova 7? For context, I was prompted to update the GG app to 106.1 version. When I updated the app, I was asked to update the firmware of my hardware. I plugged it in and everything worked for a while. All of the sudden, my Headset doesn't connect to my dongle after the firmware update. So, I uninstalled the app and installed again and was prompted with the attached images. It seems like the software thinks my Nova 7 is GEN 2 (but I don't think its a Gen2 but the update made it think that is Gen2). Now, my headset only works via Bluetooth. Any tips on how can this be fixed?

Its just a program that has its own equaliser and some other sound features that work on every headset, just one of the many options to choose rly, afaik it used to be just 5-15$ for the full app, but you can use other options it wont matter rly

Maybe the settings got scrambled in an update, has happened to me a few times in the past.
Maybe you can check in Moments -> Settings -> Capture and sound -> double check chat device is correct.

I recently started using the Shure SM7B microphone and would like to set it as my default recording device under Sounds/Recording, instead of the SteelSeries headset. However, every time I restart my computer, the SteelSeries headset gets activated as the default device again.

Is there anything I can do to ensure that the Shure SM7B remains the default device and the SteelSeries headset is completely disabled after a restart?

I've just started using Sonar for AI noise cancellation and its EQ. However, when I share my screen, it captures my discord sounds and the viewers can hear themselves pretty clearly. How do I resolve this?

Due to a bug in Discord's screen capture, Discord may capture Sonar outputs as part of the desktop audio, which can lead to echoing when screen sharing.

This issue can be fixed by setting Discord's capture to only capture a specific app. Application capture will only play audio from the selected app, and will not erroneously capture Sonar audio.

Alternatively, if you'd still want to capture the full desktop, you can use Sonar's streamer mode to manually choose what audio to send over your mic, and mute the stream sharing audio. More information on how to do this is in the links below.

can anyone help me with sonar pls? I am going crazy trying to set it up. I have a soundbar and arctis nova 7. I have also a program called soundswitch which before i used it to switch between the soundbard and headset. Now for some reason all my controls are on sonar and when switching using soundboard nothing happens. This in itself is not a problem. The problem is that when I switch to the headset, my volume key on my keyboard only controls the game channel and not the chat channel volume. Baiscally I lost control over it. Before when I had soundswitch still working, my headset was set to 100% volume and I adjusted using the volume dial on the headset. If I try to do this again, when switching to the soundbar the volume stays at 100% and need to lower it every time which in turn lowers only the game channel volume and I am stuck again with no control over the chat channel volume. Anyone has an idea for a workaround?

if you uninstall then all settings will be gone, just installing again ontop of it should keep them

Hey, I’m having an issue with my Apex Pro keyboard. I set all the keys to white, but a few keys—like F10, F12, and the up arrow—keep showing as a different color, like yellow. Has anyone seen this or know how to fix it?

that usually means a dead led

try using pure red/green/blue colours and see if they turn off completely

My steel series arctis 7 I think is what it is, the LED for the power button stays on red. It no longer turns green when full charged.
