Sonar keeps loading infinitely. Restarting pc doesn't help. disabling nahimic doesn't help. Downloading latest windows updates doesn't help. Reinstalling GG doesn't help. Starting GG with administrator rights doesn't help.

So im out of options. Looks to me this is 100% a sonar software thing as many people online have this problem and haven't found a solution.

Hello, I am running to an issue with steel series gg. Every time i start up my game in this case FFXIV the game gets automatically put into the “Gaming” audio channel
I usually manually move it over to “Media” to allow nvidia shadow play record its audio. Other times i forget and my gameplay clip ends up being dead silent.

Issue- after every restart FFXIV moves back from media to gaming automatically

Is there a way to put FFXIV into media and keep it there without having to manually drag the program over each and every time I turn my pc back on?

Hello hello, hope everyone is fine.
I have a nova pro and since yesterday out of the blue... The wheel to adjust the mix gaming/chat isnt doing naything anymore. It's working but i can see in the GG app that both gaming and chat are on the same "arctis nova pro wireless" output device so turning the wheel doesnt have any effect. The app kinda selected that on its own as before it was 2 seperate output steel series sonar gaming and steel series sonar chat.

Surprisingly i can still see those 2 ouputs in my windows device but they dont show up anymore in the GG app so both gaming and chat has the same output and cant be mixed anymore.

Anyone would know how to help with that ?

if you close GG, are you able to get audio to your headset? sonar isn't required for the headset to work, so it should be able to work without it

sonar works as an extra layer on top of windows audio, so if it's not working in windows, it's not going to work in sonar

You can't unfortunately. I've heard you can highjack the volume wheel by using AutoHotKey and trigger keyboard shortcuts that can control Sonar but I haven't gotten around to testing it yet

Analog audio devices are headsets/speakers that use the 3.5mm headphone jack as the primary way to connect to the PC or console.

Please note that analog headsets use your on-board audio drivers to run the headset. Due to this, analog headsets are not compatible with SteelSeries Engine and will not show up on the device list in Engine.

• Reseat all cable connections to verify they are fully plugged in. The 3.5mm connection will require that the cable be plugged in fully for correct audio. Make sure all connections are clean and free of dirt. • Verify that you are plugging the headset into the correct port. Some PCs may have split headphone and microphone audio jacks, so using a splitter for these devices is required to make the mic work. Additionally, if you are on a desktop PC, it's recommended to use the rear audio ports on your motherboard for audio, rather than the ports on your PC case.

• Check for audio driver updates from your PC manufacturer. As analog headsets use your on-board audio drivers to run the headset, it's recommended to check for any driver updates or additional audio software that's provided by your manufacturer. These drivers or management programs may be required for your device to be detected by Windows.

Sonar can also be used with analog headsets. Please make sure your Sonar outputs are set to the on-board audio device that is driving the headset. These are usually named "Realtek" or "Intel" depending on your PC.

the first thing might be something related to to either your clipping software or a natural delay
on my OBS i have an offset of -140ms since i think this is the range that it converts the audio

and the volume problem - double check windows - for me it was once that the sonar mic was to 40% even when in sonar it was set to 100%

Hi guys, I have a MSI Raider GE78 HX 14VIG. I remember I turned of the "mystic light" (rgb color effects on the bottom of the laptop) and also the backlighting of the keys has been turned off. Now I went to steelseries and selected a backlighting type but it doesn't seem to be working. Keyboard backlights are off.

I don't think so, the mic captures as it's output to Windows. You can try turning it down in Windows (or Sonar, if you use that) but keep in mind that it'll affect EVERY app that uses the mic.

alternatively you can just turn the mic sound down in the clip editor after the fact, assuming the mic isn't full on clipping

I left my steel series nova heatset charging over night, I unplugged them this morning. Usually the LED light goes off then I switch them on and all is good. But this morning my LED light stayed green, but I cant hear no audio. It wont let me switch the headset on or off and the software says its not connected.

Problem description:
Sometimes, after an unknown key combination, the keyboard enters a mode where:

Pressing ESC acts like Win + D (minimizes all windows / shows desktop)

Pressing TAB switches between open applications (Alt + Tab / Task View behavior)

For anyone trying to update the firmware on a new Arctis Nova 7p Gen 2 on a Mac running OS 26.2 or later . . . . . It took me a while to figure out how to update the firmware for this device. This is what worked for me:

1. Download the GG software from the Arcis Nova website. (version 102.0.0)
2. Plug in the wireless USB C dongle to your Mac
3. Using a separate USB C cable, plug the headset into your Mac.

What didn't work for me was just performing steps 1 & 3 above and leaving the wireless dongle plugged in to my PS5.

I hope this helps someone.

Bought the artic nova 1 as a budget headset, looked at reviews said mic and audio was good, audio is very good but mic is awful in discord and in fiveM people say my mic sounds really quite and crackling going in and out of me speaking, iv checked loads of settings and cant seem to fix this

anyone got issues with charging dock? from SS (arctis nova pro wireless) on charging dock it might say that the battery is full but it actually isnt and when i put that battery it will show on GG that its 25% and then i keep it charging and on the charging dock that specific battery will show as 1bar in there, but when i put it back to charge itll state 50% charging.

That sounds like you got sonar streamer mode on which blocks the usage of normal windows volume slider

In streamer mode routed through discord when playing Spotify, Spotify will pause itself after a few seconds. Super annoying when trying to play music through the mic with friends. Only happens when routed through discord. Discord input is SS Streamer and Output is SS Game. If I put the Discord input to SS Microphone there is no issue.

Heyjoo everyone, following problem: im using a streamdock for easy access, also used it to switch between headphones and boxes. It worked fine with swapping the audio to headset and back, windows also notices the audio switching. But now, if i try to switch the lanes, the sonar app dont recognize the swap of the audio lane so it keeps pushing any sound to the headset even after windows noticed that the audio should be via boxes. Only got the problem with browser, not spotify. Spotify gets pushed into the "apps to be assigned" yet this workeds... but no the browser

Many SteelSeries headsets come with Sidetone, which allow you to hear yourself through the headset’s mic for better clarity when talking.

Hi everyone,I’m using a SteelSeries Arctis Nova 9 with the Sonar application. I’m having a specific issue with Discord screen sharing.When I share my entire screen (Screen 1) instead of a specific application, the viewers hear their own voices back (echo) and they also hear my voice twice. This only happens when I stream the whole screen; it works fine when I stream a specific game or window.I am using Sonar with the recommended settings (Game/Chat/Microphone channels separated). It seems like the system audio or the 'Chat' output is being bled into the stream's audio feed when Screen 1 is selected.Does anyone know a specific fix for this in Sonar or Discord settings to prevent this loopback?

I’m having a persistent issue with Sonar after recently formatting my PC and doing a fresh Windows installation.Even though my Windows default playback device is set to 'SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming' and I can see the green volume bars moving in the Windows Sound Control Panel, I get absolutely no sound in my headset through the Game channel.I’ve checked the following:The physical ChatMix dial is set to the middle.The playback device inside the Sonar Mixer (Game column) is correctly set to 'Arctis 9 Game'.I have tried restarting my PC multiple times; it worked once after a reboot but stopped working again shortly after.It seems like the audio routing between Sonar and my headset is breaking specifically on the Game channel, while Chat and Media channels work fine. If you have a PC you need to adjust the EQ setting via the Steelseries GG app. Theres tutorials on YouTube to help figure out what EQ you like

hi, no matter what I choose I cannot select a device for the chat channel in sonar, when I had "use the same device on all output channels" enabled in device manager, it would change the game one properly so I know the menu is responding, but no matter what I pick it doesnt do anything for chat

Hi, Im having issue with my steel series artic 7. Last night it stopped working completely. Not charging, no light off the headset at all. Today there is an firmware update which im trying to download but the head isnt connecting to the PC. Tired different USB port, different USB-A to micro -USB cable and nothing. I also tried checking and rewriting the email, but got the same error. I tried deactivating the antivirus and VPN and retrying, but got the same error. I have had this problem for more than two months. I update the app every time.
