after the recent update or whatever, GG software now will not entirely control the Alias Mic. example: if i use mute "button" on the microphone, Sonar will not be able to unmute it via mixer or key binding. But if mute "button" was not pressed on microphone, the software will mute the channel but will NOT control the mic's LED indicator lights.

Hey! I'm using a arctis nova pro and have some kind of nasty error since the last firmware update. Because it is showing that it requires an firmware update so I hook everything up and click on start, but then nothing happens. If I unplug and replug the DAC it works just fine. But since this error is comes up quite often, it feels quite annoying. Is there an possibility to reflash the newest firmware?

On his laptop, however, everything works except for the fact that the headset disconnects (as if the cable were sensitive).

For anyone else having issues (GG software haging, USB issues, mic not working etc). I had to uninstall GG, delete the existing folder in Program Files, and reinstall. If anyone knows how to prevent automatic updates that would be great; would be nice to avoid missing league practice sessions because of broken updates.

Hi Im sure this has been asked before and Im probably posting this in the wrong chat but I need help with my Arctic 9 Bluetooth headset. I purchased this pair roughly 6 months ago and within the past month it has begun to just randomly drop connection. It will play connecting and disconnecting tones randomly even while still connected or disconnected and sometimes it takes powering it back on multiple times to reconnect. I have already uninstalled and re-installed SteelSeries GG and tried using the physical reset button as well. If theres something I can do to fix the problem I would love to know. Thank you

Hello, since the last sonar my chatmix doesnt work anymore, i tried to reboot the pc and unplug the base, turn off and on the artics nova pro wireless again, checked the default device on windows/game/discord everything is fine but no more chatmix with the wheel it only move the volume or open the settings on the base :/

I have the same issue. My workaround is to adjust the channels using the Windows Mixer one by one. After restart, the values stay in place.

Dropped $600 on the Arena 9. Surround sound doesn't work. Can't enable spatial audio for the speaker in settings, GG software is no help. Why can't anything just work anymore?

Only reason I bought this system is for the rear speakers. I'm upgrading from the logitech speakers.. which are great.. never had a problem with them. The RGB lights screen mirror with my philips hue lights perfectly. Plug and play no problem.

Not using the headphones brother. When I buy something. It should work I shouldnt have to travel to narnia and back to get everything figured out. Especially for the price point.

It's obviously a surround sound setting in the software preventing the 5.1 audio from working.

The windows surround sound test does work with the rear speakers, the steelseries GG software for spacial audio testing does not work with the rear speakers and neither do any 5.1 audio testing videos on YT.

So they WORK but... the GG software is not enabling the spacial audio and also the entire spacial audio section in the GG software is completely grayed out and unusable.

I'd check "Engine" settings for your Headset first. Is "Mic Volume" at 100%? Is "Mic Sidetone" set to "off"? Next I would select the Microphone in Windows settings as my output device and test it using Windows native functionality. You probably want to exit GG completely while running this test so it cannot interfere.

Can you hear yourself clearly when using the Microphone test function? If not, you probably have a real issue with your microphone.

I'd exit GG and try to get my old known good headset to work first using the windows settings. If you exited GG completely, you will no longer have any Sonar devices that can cause any issues.

Can I get some help y'all? Was just playing CS, and out of nowhere, my mouse stops working whenever I press LMB. Thought it was just a USB / Port issue, so decided to just unplug and switch the port. Apparently that didn't work. I press LMB again, and I notice the fact that the mouse turns to blue and red on both sides, I hear the Windows USB disconnect sound, and I see that once I let go of LMB, the mouse comes back to life, and I hear the USB connect sound. Still, whenever I press LMB, it disconnects, shows the Red and Blu lights, and only comes back to life when LMB is released.

Hey, looking into getting a new headset, and time to find out if it's time to ditch Steel Series for good.
The 2 last headsets have been Steel Series, but that incessant, crazy, obnoxious beeping from hell every 10-60 seconds, when battery is below 20% or something, is a gamebreaker.
Any news on this being fixed, or does anyone know any workarounds? Seen people been asking about this since 2017, so I would assume it's time for me to do a brand change.

Edit: Wow, changing battery has always been annoying, as I generally have short nails, and just now realised you can simply spin it off, instead of using the small hole... That was 2 years of needless suffering 😭

i got a brand new headset when i plugged it in to my computer with the cords it came with it likes to only work through one ear and when i unplug and plug it back in it switches ears or it works in both but the volukme is supper quiet. i have the same headset and after trying to use the new one they are both buggy. listening to music on spotiufy soundfs super glitchy and messed up on both headsets now. the mic on the new headset is also extremely quiet no matter what i do to it. ive checked drivers turned up volume in everything i can and ive unjinstalled the software like 7 times i dont know what else to do

Have you checked your windows mixer settings and volume settings? That can be a cause. It may be worth turning up some of those settings. Does it happen with general use or just gaming?

Yeah that's one of the downfalls I think. It's directional pickup is super sensitive. So the diaphragm of the microphone has to directly face towards your mouth. I think it's a noise cancelling feature. Have you tilted the microphone to face more directly towards your mouth? I found this issue with my Nova 5

Analog audio devices are headsets/speakers that use the 3.5mm headphone jack as the primary way to connect to the PC or console.

Please note that analog headsets use your on-board audio drivers to run the headset. Due to this, analog headsets are not compatible with SteelSeries Engine and will not show up on the device list in Engine.

If you are having audio issues, here's a few steps to try:

• Reseat all cable connections to verify they are fully plugged in. The 3.5mm connection will require that the cable be plugged in fully for correct audio. Make sure all connections are clean and free of dirt. Additionally, please check that you have the correct end of the cable plugged into your PC, as some SteelSeries Nova headsets have unique cables that must have the correct end plugged into the headset.

• Verify that you are plugging the headset into the correct port. Some PCs may have split headphone and microphone audio jacks, so using a splitter for these devices is required to make the mic work. Check your PC's manual or specs to see which type of headphone port you have. Additionally, if you are on a desktop PC, it's recommended to use the rear audio ports on your motherboard for audio, rather than the ports on your PC case.

• Check for audio driver updates from your PC manufacturer. As analog headsets use your on-board audio drivers to run the headset, it's recommended to check for any driver updates or additional audio software that's provided by your manufacturer. These drivers or management programs may be required for your device to be detected by Windows.

Sonar can also be used with analog headsets. Please make sure your Sonar outputs are set to the on-board audio device that is driving the headset. These are usually named "Realtek" or "Intel" depending on your PC.

So, I just got an Arctis NOVA Pro Wireless headset, plugged the DAC in via usb, and immediately the headset works out of the box but it sounds absolutely awful as there's some kind of buzzing sound happening, even when theres no output with the volume up.

Things I've tried:

• plugging the line in in the DAC to line out in my computer
• plugging the line in in the DAC to line in my computer
• plugging the line out in the DAC to line out in my computer
• plugging the line out in the DAC to line in my computer
• plugging the line out in the DAC to mic port in my computer
• unplugging the aux totally, only use USB
• turning on bluetooth
• turning off ANC
• turning off sidetone
• uninstalling the driver
• installing sonar

The heaphone works fine if I plug the headphones in via aux directly in my computer and I turn off the DAC.

What is causing this buzzing sound? Is it possible to ditch the DAC completely and just connect via bluetooth or wireless dongle since the DAC is clearly the issue?

If it's a hissing noise it's normally caused by an electrical current. Have you plugged it into the front of your pc or directly to the motherboard?

A solution might he in downloading SteelSeries GG and use Sonar on your headset. You can add a noise gate which will eliminate any noise under a certain decibel threshold. You could tweak that until you hear no interference and hear the game. Although it isn't a good solution for competitive gaming as you will need the full scope of volume

Idk what you mean. I can do a wired connection from my computer directly to the headset via an aux cable, and theres no buzz in this case, but that also makes these headphones effectively wired.

I tried the wireless with the dac having both the aux plugged in and not plugged in, but both solutions have the buzzing sound (though plugging in the aux cable from the dac to my computer does change the sound a bit)

Its such a common issue there is no way that this hasn't been fixed yet.
Also its extremely annoying that if you mute your self on discord it still captures the mic from your output when you do a screenshare, like how did this even get through testing.
I wouldn't even be that mad if it was an issue for like a couple of weeks or months but this issues persists over years now.

I just underwent surgery that involved my esophagus and voice box to name a few. They took most of my stomach also. My voice is very rough and deep while it’s healing. I’m a twitch partner and hope to get back to streaming soon

Hello everyone, i just purchased an arctis 7x+ and i have no audio on Sonar - Gaming

the dongle is already set to usb and i plugged it into the port of the PC

I also changed the default audio settings in Sonar GG for game mode and everything to Arctis 7x

its crazy to see the amount of issues people are having and none of these were mentioned in the reviews which is why I ended up buying this product

If I answer a Discord call or start using voice chat during a game, all in-game sounds become muffled, as if both high and low frequencies are cut off, leaving only a rough fragment of the midrange. This issue occurs specifically with the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless. When I use my Shure SE215, the problem is not present. At first, I thought it was some setting, but I couldn't find a way to disable this annoying behavior of my SteelSeries headset. Searching on Google also didn’t help. However, it is always recommended to use the included USB dongle when gaming, as the dongle connection provides a higher quality and lower latency audio connection. This will also prevent the audio quality changing when loading a game or joining a call. Additionally, some SteelSeries GG features will only work over a USB dongle.

My arctis nova pro wireless doesn't play audio anymore but the mic works, I can hear the beeps when I use the dock station thing but nothing from my pc
I do however hear audio when it's connected on my phone through bluetooth just not from my pc
Restarting pc or headset doesn't help
Repairing doesn't help
It works on 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000hz (DVD Quality)
But it stopped working on 2 channel, 24 bit, 48000hz (StudioQuality)
Nvm Asus aura sync was messing up the audio entirely

yea this happened to me too, after the update. Windows is displaying output of audio but the docker (idk what the device is called, the one that carries the batteries) does not. Sonar is default device.

hmm any issues with GG? seems like I simply cant launch it at all, suddenly..today... it stays in processes for 3 secs and disappears (no vpn, not in processes, tried restarts, tried run as admin, not blocked by antivirus etc.. so I am just guessing the usual... and..new update messed it up? 🙂 I hate to reinstal and lose everything again,,,,

I'm getting it too. restarted my pc and everything. I sent them an email and attached all of my logs, error logs, event logs, pc information, and GUID. definitely not my first rodeo with contacting support regarding an issue with sonar.

Here what I do:
-Check all windows update then restart after install it
-Uninstall 3rd party app for speaker and headphone then restart
-Uninstall Steel Series GG and install it again after that
