Unfortunately there's currently not a way to change the game detection logic. However, QuickSet should only load your configs when the app is focused in the foreground, so if you have the client open in the background, QuickSet should still switch back to the default Desktop configuration. Is it not doing that?

Currently there is no way to disable QuickSet, but if you do not need to use it, then it shouldn't do anything, as there would be no profiles to switch to. If you experimented with QuickSet and added profiles, you can just delete them until the default Desktop is the only item remaining.

yea works fine except when i have to relug it into my system when i change the actuation point, when the LEDs are broken on like 20 keys so i just turn the RGB off entirely, when the software asks me to do a firmware update and it doesnt work and i have to replug my keyboard ten times since it keeps flashing red, when some keys just lag behind because of the age, when i cant use rapid trigger since it also breaks my keyboard and i have to replug it again, when the little magnets from my wrist pad fall off (2 times btw, had to rebuy it and it still fell of) so they arent even glued onto the wrist rest and instead they just sit on my keyboard magnet and dont really ever align

Quick set seems to have stoped switch apps for me.

If I switch to any app that it's setup with a profile, it doesn't change to it. Helldivers, Grey zone, custom Discord keyboard layout, or even back to the default desktop one.

QuickSet is still in Early Access, and was originally designed for keyboards (and keyboard presets.) At this time we're still limiting the Early Access beta to Apex Pro keyboard users, but it will be opened to all users soon.

When I say "designed for keyboards" I generally mean the Engine specific actuation presets. Much of QuickSet is actually a refresh of the older Library system in Engine that would only work within Engine. This new addition of Sonar into QuickSet is the first time this system is able to affect a different app within GG, so we're still rolling it out slowly. There's still plenty of improvements and features to add before the beta opens to more users!

Engine is not going to go away anytime soon (otherwise we'd break a lot of old legacy devices, including devices over 10 years old!) but over time QuickSet may be the new Hub for your devices. It's still something we're exploring.

Understood. The ability to have Sonar presets switch according to game seems to be a frequently requested feature. I have my Rival 5, and some of my Nova Pro Wireless, settings set to switch automatically, but the one piece of the puzzle missing for me is Sonar. Heck, if I didn't play on a laptop I'd maybe even consider buying a new keyboard, just for that feature! So I will be eagerly awaiting it (hopefully) supporting my setup.

As far as I'm aware, the only way to opt in currently is to have connected an Apex Pro keyboard. It doesn't need to be plugged in all the time, but just once to allow the opt-in.

Small feedback: FFXIV wasnt being detected so i manually added the exe. While renaming the profile does work the profile itself is shown as "game" (because the folder for the exe is named game i guess)

In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:

1. Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

2. Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.

If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.

If you're comfortable with downloading a third party program to edit a GG file, there's a way to opt yourself into quickset even if you don't have the keyboard for the requirements

4. MAKE A COPY OF THE DATABASE AND SAVE IT SOMEWHERE. This is just in case something goes wrong with the following steps.
5. Open the database.db file in the editor
6. Locate the "Settings" table in the editor. (If you're using the editor mentioned in step 1, go to the "Browse Data" tab and use the dropdown to select Settings)
7. Click on the button to add a record. Make the key "loadoutsEligible" and the value "true"
8. Write your changes to the database and close the editor.
9. Open GG, and QuickSet should be available now in the list of apps```

Pretty neat to be able to assign a hotkey to switch to a specific audio profile, helps when I forget to turn on my FPS settings and I'm in the middle of a round of Valorant 👍🏾. I only wish I could assign a Meta Binding to be the hotkey

While you cannot directly assign a QuickSet shortcut action on the meta layer (because the setup for that would exclude non-SteelSeries keyboards from using the shortcuts), what you can do is to assign a key combination to the profile and then assign the same key combination to the meta key layer key you want (using Quick Record). That will trigger the shortcut when you hit the meta key combo

Just got an Aerox 5 and realized that if you modified the "Default" config the settings are always reset to the factory defaults on profile switch. For my headset I can edit the corresponding "Default" config and it is not reset to factory defaults. I just created a different "My Default" configuration which works as intended.

So in case anyone looks here:
Quickset profiles are not automatically switching, unless you go to quickset, click the + to add a new profile and then click "Scan for games", even if the games you are a playing are already showing in the Game Profiles section and you already having Quickset profiles for them.

There also isn't a way to remove Game Profiles from what I can see, for instance I uninstalled Battlefield 2042, it still shows there, and even says that it's installed, but I can't remove it.

You can delete "Custom Profiles" by going to the Quickset profile, clicking the 3 dots and clicking delete, but if you manually add a game using the "Add manually" button, there's no option to delete it. You can delete the "Quickset Profile" but the game will stay in the "Game Profiles" even if you uninstall the game.

Can delete the ones circles in red, can't delete the ones circled in green

And having to delete the "Custom profiles" by selecting in it "Quickset Profiles" isn't very user friendly.

Automatic profile switching doesn't work properly. It works sometimes but it doesn't most of the time. It wasn't like this when it first came out. I think the devs broke something somewhere which is a shame because it was the first time GG felt a bit less like bloatware.

All most of us want is a standalone engine app but no, we must install either a total memory hog that tries to be an even worse Razer Synapse or we have no way of knowing which profile we are on at any given time. Razer at least does functional RGB very well, they don't even have that.

Hello, i dont know if its issue on my side or in general but with new QuickSet when I change games and browser, quickset change profiles for each of them cuz I have set it that way, for a second I hear static noise in headset. not sure if its general issue or maybe just on my end. Quickset automatically switching profiles used to work for me but it's stopped working. I think the last update broke it. I had a profile for Helldivers 2 that would switch whenever I started the game and switch back to my default when I went back to desktop, but it doesn't autoswitch anymore. Now I have to manually change profiles if I want it to happen.

Hello, I have been dealing with the auto switch issue in QuickSet for quite some time. It refuses to work after fresh boot UNLESS I open the application, select QuickSet tab, select the + to "add a new quickset profile", then select "scan for games". This process enables the auto switch feature for me between games/desktop until I shutdown at the end of each night. Its def not consistent even after this, sometimes you will need to alt/tab out of a game and back in for it to recognize. Let me know how it goes for you.

so I just bought the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 headset and I'm having an issue.

At first, the mic had insane sensitivity that was picking up noise from across the house and my sound settings had zero effect on the mic. I realized there was an app I needed to install on my computer and that fixed it. However, that was a few days ago and I haven't been in voice chat since.

Tonight, I rejoined voice and turned my mic on, and it's doing the same thing. I'm hearing everything going on in the house. I haven't adjusted any of the settings in the app, I haven't done anything that would change anything, and now trying to figure out these settings and figure out how to fix it is doing nothing.

Can someone please help me, because this is driving me insane and making me regret buying htis headset big time

I'm using the mic preset "Balanced". I've tried both the clearcast AI noise cancellation and the regular noise reduction settings, nothing is helping.

Hello everyone! Just've set up my new Arctis nova 7 gen 2 and I have a question.
Is there any way to setup a fallback sound device without using Sonar (I can not use Sonar because it makes my keyboards mutlimedia buttons ignored)? Or somehow make the headphones device disabled as soon as I turn off them, to make OS take care of switching between devices.
How it works with Airpods for example, the sound switches to them as soon as you take them out of the case and switches back to my loudspeakers as soon as I put the pods to the case. Pretty handful.

How do you release a 100.00 version of your application and make no major feature improvements. Not fix any of the insane bugs that your software has and let them persist months and months after they have been reported. Your company is something else and this is why I sit in your reddit forms telling people not to buy your terrible products and to return them if they still can.

1: FIX the screen flicker problem that has persisted now for actual months. it is insane to me that every other application works perfectly fine without flickering and turning into a strobe light on my display. Somehow yours is the only one and It's not your devs fault my pasty white behind. Fix it its annoying as S*** and the 99% reason i keep this janky software off of my system. It is unbareable just like your support staff.
2: Fix your sonar application that doesn't obey headphone priority rules 100% of the time, Reduce your applications impact on startup there is no reason that it uses as much cpu time as it does to boot this terrible application.
3: just get rid of the giveaways you never do them and its literally just a scam where you keep in on there to try and keep people convinced to keep the app installed on the chance they will get free games so you can continue top harvest every one of your CUSTOMERS DATA. (Did you forget that we all actually paid you REAL MONEY for your "HARDWARE" AKA JANKWARE).
4: stop trying to record my screen BY DEFAULT when the application is installed. It feels so yucky and disgusting and makes me want to vomit everytime I put this god awful app back on my PC to install firmware or change my lighting what have you.
5: What ever happened to the system temp sensors I was supposed to be able to map to my OLED display. That i was promised was a feature of this keyboard. That you blatently advertised online and on the box and then I install the keyboard and what would ya know. You removed the feature. Why because you were using winring0 driver like everyone else because you were too cheap to have your own driver signed. Get with the program, the entirety of windows open source developers have moved to Pawn.io which wont give your drooling users a windows defender notification. Implement the feature I paid for. I am still extremely mad about this and literally thinking about it right now I am actively getting angry with your company again and may just spend my entire friday in your reddit sub convincing people to throw your products in the garbage, or better yet not buy in the first place, or even better than that, return theom from where they came. as its an all day thing that your new customers are in that reddit thread asking questions about your products from the community because you have no idea how to support your own product stack. Your company is terrible your software is terrible. Your hardware is mediocre at best and i hope you go out of business for taking advantage of your customers the way that you do. Specifically regarding QuickSet profiles as the feature came with my headset, so this is about audio and not keyboards:

I am able to create quickset profiles to change sonar settings for applications in the games channel on the mixer, but if I have applications set to the media channel, I am unable to link the media sonar settings to specific quickset profiles.

I would like to be able to use an audio profile so I have a hotkey to change between my music sonar EQ and my movie sonar EQ as they use the same application to play. I would also like to be able to switch to a completely raw profile on Game, Media, Aux, and Mic to see the differences quickly for making adjustments. I would be able to achieve this by running all my audio through the Game channel, but then I lose my audio separation.

Having the ability to link media sonar settings to the quickset profile in the same way that game sonar settings can be linked would solve this issue without forcing all audio sources to be on the same channel, but it doesn't appear to be supported by the software as far as I can tell; am I looking at this the wrong way or doing something wrong?

What engine profile presets for the APEX PRO are coming next?
I’d love to see some ARPG presets, or one for BL4.
Or maybe some more general game presets like ARPG, General Shooter, etc.?

Another idea: a kind of "build-your-own" preset generator?
Or even a small example collection of properly dithered black & white GIFs/images for the OLED display?

when will it be possible to rearrange the profiles so we can put the most used once into the front and we dont have to press on the "+5" symbol to chose the profile because it was added the most recent
because if it was added very recent the chance is very high you will use it now very often....

geez GG is slower in programming than scum game developers....

I saw the quickset on the application but got a little disappointed that it only gives option to set the game preset on sonar for my use it would have been nice if it turns on the streamer mode automatically and switches the mic preset because I'm using sonar streamer mode currently to set my inputs and outputs for my VR inputs and outputs then switch my mic profile to the one I use on my VR headset.

My use for quickset would have been
Open Game > Quickset changes sonar to streamer mode (I have different inputs and outputs there) > Quickset changes mic preset.

Can someone help me? I just want to set the Windows sound bar to lower all audio modes at the same time. When it freezes in gaming mode, I have to manually switch to the output device or media, since gaming takes precedence, and there's no way to organize the outputs through the software.

It's been too many AI conversations, missed items, store runs, wild goose chases for products and multiple all-nighters. I will list my equipment below. My biggest headache right now, beyond the OBS inputs, is how to best capture audio. I'm confused about the function of the base for the Steel Series Arctis Headset.

I would suggest you use the audio monitoring feature in OBS to be able to listen to game sounds, alerts etc. Use a minijack cable from the headphone out of the Alias to the line in on your Nova Pro wireless for sidetone (unless you don't care about hearing yourself)

The main challenge would be getting mic sound into the PS5, if that's needed?
