I love the juxtaposition between Mefilas and Doom (one sees only surface level purpose as a kaiju does, the other sees deeper purposes)- and because of that the good (so far) comic accurate characterization of Doom. I love the conservation and sustainability aspect this chapter had surrounding the Ragon (which also served as a cool bit of world building for Peter’s perspective in seeing positive kaiju).

Alright done with Elseworlds Justice League, and Volume 3 is my clear favorite. It helps that nothing is as godawful as in 2, and heck the weak link Created Equal is basically a component Act of God. It’s not perfect and still has flaws like the artwork going off model sometimes, but none of the heroes derail into whinerbabies when placed into an unimaginable crisis and still act in character. It also has the wonderful Conjurors and Emerald Knights (with the latter beautifully done by one of my favorite Magic the Gathering artists), as well as the amazing dark humor World’s Funnest (more like Funniest) where Mr. Mxyzptlk and Bat-Mite make a grand tour of the DC franchise not just from the comics but also their animated stuff poking fun at everything as they cause widespread mayhem, all drawn by an all star lineup of artists including Alex Ross.
