Gyro doesn't want to accept this, he doesn't want to accept that things are predetermined.

Then there's the napkin philosophy; the big dog who starts it all is the one who leads history onwards. On a basic surface, both Valentine and Gyro share the same concept: things are not predetermined, and individuals can change the course of history by taking matters into their own hands (just that Valentine is obviously much more violent and immoral when it comes to bringing about this goal).

Marco's death, alongside every other nail in the coffin for Gyro's and Valentine's philosophies throughout SBR, shows that the philosophy of Gyro/FV are ones that aren't correct. Nothing that happens to Marco correlates with what Gyro has done. The revolt isn't related to the SBR, and neither did it affect the illness which Marco died from.

The entire race actually emphasises on the philosophy of predetermined history. It was failed from the start due to Pocoloco's luck. In High Voltage, the fight (besides to keep slowing down Diego) was meaningless, as Lucy was the one who killed him off in the end. The only goals achieved were those by Johnny — standing up both physically and spiritually.
