We are never going to make allies with the hive. Not all enemies need the redemption arc. Temporary alliances maybe like Luzaku but we'd never let them chill with us or anything
true
Look at the artifact we're getting
A tablet of ruin
There little hints that taken power will be used in some way
We technically are in a position to complete our regicide of the Hive pantheon
Tracking down Xivu is the hard part
For Savathun all we need to do is fulfill Immarus destiny as a stress ball
Sloane will also be teaching us how to harness the power of the taken

"path of resolve" as it's called
Taken power is not the same as commanding the Taken. We have already used Taken power since Gambit.
That's why drifter is coming along
Yes let me cope
Drifter and Sloane know a huge amount about the taken.
I wanna have taken minions
Even Mara Sov denied the potential claim she could have made over the Taken.
I doubt we will have one.
Too scared
As she should be.

Like what's the big deal if we don't then who
Toland? The shattered
We must take oryx mantle and become the navigator
We literally already denied it.
Can still happen
Back in D1, in fact.
Reckon that’s his title because he was tired a lot
is the shattered throne similarly tired
Dul Incaru probably is
She's been getting murdered every 3 weeks for 6 years
fair enough
So uhh
Oryxs voice.
Quite different from the last time we heard him speak. But fr though I guess he is more back than I thought. Not just as a ghost or something.
is xivu the sole reason taken are still sigmaing around?
unless the new season changes it with oryx
Also looks like we'll have more cutscenes involving other characters and us which is nice. I always love the cinematic stuff in the g.
They're aimless. They just gravitate to any kind of power because they need someone to guide them
ok
Iirc the original va remained anonymous and I wouldn’t be surprised for no return
Yeah that wouldn't be a surprise. Been a decade since oryx had a voice so I imagine the VA is off doing other things
and given the Echos got both dark and light...
but yeah
but was Oryx so tied to the witness that a memory of him lives in the echo?
or just the darkness i guess
Oryx is not in the echo. It's just the echo interacting with the dreadnaught which is oryxs throne world. So his spirit is still connected to that place
got cha
Oh I didn’t know that cool
makes sense the soul of a ascended hive who was also slain in their own throneworld is bound to it
So why didn’t the vanguard ever think of blowing up the dreadnaught lol
It would nuke half the solar system
oh yeah
Wait what?
its reactor was so powerful it could be used as a solar system wide nuke
Oh…
it is a paracusel ship of darkness and hive magic so yeah..
Back in D1 we stopped 2 cabal brothers from trying to blow it up for revenge because their commander had been taken
yee
That was such a fun strike
i wonder if we will find the wreak of the ship they used
Didn’t ever know what they were trying to do lmao
kek
You mean that one they crashed into it? I think it's possible
Bring back the class specific nightfall armor
The full story is oryx took their commander so the 2 brothers tried to hold the ships core hostage in exchange for oryx to return their leader. But what they didn't know is that they had already been taken and then killed by us during the campaign for the DLC.
So we had to stop them because if they caught wind of what happened they would probably attempt to detonate the ship
No their leader was.
does that mean their taken commander was perma killed by us while a taken?
Yes
If you remember it was during the final mission we killed a big taken Colossus when we had to prove we were worthy to face oryx.
got cha
Well apparently taken never truly “die”, they just get sent back to the ascendant plane
I can very much see bungie reusing the ogre and the cabal commander (as a centurion because I doubt they’d still have the taken colossus model)
it seems there is also some older lore however that says otherwise
so it is a bit wierd
but perhaps a retcon
If it’s older then it’s probably retcon
Remember the subminds used to be other warminds
Isn't eris str9nger than svathun atp? How is she struggling in this trailer?
she was stronger for a brief period
due to sword logic shenanigans
where she tricked and killed savathun
but then, instead of following the sword logic and going after xivu, she instead forced her out of her throne world, making xivu very mortal
which forced xivu to flee, weakening her a bit, and also because eris did this instead of going after xivu she also renounced her powers
Why wouldn't eris just keep them
she cant, she has to follow the sword logic to keep her powers from the sword logic
I feel like having a friendly hive God would be immensely useful
the sword logic is pretty fucking bad in the hands of an ally if your intent is not to just murder absolutely everything around you at all times
the entire plan was always this
I mean
Is that not what we've been trying to do since SOTW
Is murder things that pose an issue
My favorite part of lore is when traveller said its travelin time and traveled all over the universe
I mean yeah that's sorta what it does
Following the Sword Logic is immoral and posed a great risk to both Eris and Ahsa, who facilitated Eris’ powers in a similar way a worm parasite does to normal Hive
Besides, after everything the Hive did to Eris, becoming the strongest among them and then rejecting their power completely to mortalise their god is like the biggest power move of all time
So then I have another question, why did she soley use that power not to kill, but banish xivu arath?
Why not just like
If she had power enough to straight up perma-kill Xivu, doing so would have been following the Sword Logic
But also I still doubt that she could have done that
Also if she did kill Xivu, Xivu would have her Throne World to be able to return from
And when the witness said its witnessing time and witness everywhere
Killing Xivu would’ve also permanently corrupted Ahsa into a worm god and tied Eris to her as a tribute bearer
I think if anything, killing xivu is tough because she is literally the god of war, it's possible by killing her you could embody her and revive her
Possibly
There's a built in weakness we can exploit, might be taking effect already thanks to Eris
Xivu doesn't feed her worm, the worm eats her
True true
Cut off from her Throne World could have an effect on tribute flow
They’re not directly related
And I imagine the worm isn't too happy about Xivu running away and hiding in a corner for months
Tribute lines existed long before they discovered throne worlds
Now, losing her throne world MAY have shaken up the loyalty of his followers
But also that wouldn’t apply to her wrathborn so she probably has just been stockpiling them since she doesn’t have taken anymore
My guess is Xivu will eventually be forced out of hiding by her worm
Either she fights us, or she gets devoured
Her big act of cowardice may be backfiring hard
Yee
I used to think that we could have beaten Xivu Arath by doing something that wuld both decimate her army and be a major act of war
and what would have happened was that while Xivu would have gained a lot of power, she would have no means of maintaining herself afterward since her worm's appetite would continue to grow
and with a weakened army, she can't keep up resulting in her own worm deviuring her from within
How do you defeat something that feeds off conflict you dont play the game
yeah, that was certainly a pro move from Rasputin
my idea more so came from the downsides the bargain the Hive gods made with the Worm gods had
it was why Savathun went through such lengths to have us remove her worm
Yea there downsides to those worms just to be powerful
Savathun totally avoids the worms now and uses the light
I would say savathun is much more deadly than xivu
Her lucent brood too
in terms of outright power Xivu likely still reigns supreme
Yes but sometimes power alone doesn't win wars
And with xivu being mortal one mistake and she is no longer
Yea look @ savathun
this will force her to be crafty with her approach
I wouldn't underestimate savathun at all
definitely not
She is more than likely thinking way ahead of us
just pointing out that there's a reason why Savathun wanted us to deal with Xivu for her
And she doesn't even need to directly be there
She has her minions to carry out her schemes
Yes which was smart for savathun to do
It was to mutual benefit
but mostly to her
One thing that doesn't concern is we didn't really see em at all in the trailer
And with the strikes affecting voice acting
I'd think that later acts will involve them more
I'm hoping there not reduced in terms of them being involved
Yea this is what I'm hoping
and Bungie did say that while some voice lines won't have voices for them, they will still be there, just with no audio
- they wanna keep the story close and not spoil
Which is unfortunate
But can't be helped
also recall that the first trailer for each Episode usually only has stuff in the first act
Yes
so everything we saw in the Heresy launch trailer is probably going to all act 1 stuff
Byf did get Flack over blaming Bungie for it in his latest vid
But i am Hyped for Heresy
hmmm, that also means Barrow Dyad is going to be obtainable in act 1 given how it was featured in the trailer and reveal stream
I mean, would you rather they use AI voices?
Bungie doesn't control wether they went on strikes
Nah
this was probably the best way they could handle it
Subtitles is fine
Yeah
it sucks, but still better than the alternatives
I'm wondering what did he exactly blame?
How could of bungie did better
I always give bungie shit when theres fuck ups or bad seasons but this is out of there control
He said it was embrassing for Bungie/Sony to release a unfinished product
Defo an over reaction
His comments are full of people disagreeing with him
Yeah i Dont think he did his research into the strike
Bungie have not even said "Lol let's replace our voice actors with ai"
Yea he must live under a rock
If affected the whole industry
Tv shows movies and more
Not to mention Bungie have worked with some of their voice actors since destiny 1
even Bungie knows full well using ai is the LAST thing they would want to do in this scenario
Yeah
Mhmm
I do hope Byf will do some research and go "i was wrong i am sorry"
Oh?
The strikes were gonna happen way in advance
He said they should pay em more or some shit
Oh yeah
Bungie couldn't even really just simply use different VAs either
Its not even about just being paid more
would also look pretty bad
Its about ai
the only options that Bungie had here were to either keep the lines in without the voice acting, or remove the lines entirely
Protecting there likeness being used for ai is important
Ai has already stolen alot
Ye
They came up with the only suitable solution
Without doing other stuff that would make bungie look worse off
still true tho
I suppose one could argue that removing the lines entirely can potentially look bad
I remember reading the twid last week and I didn't really see it being a big deal
They can still tell the story well visually
Bungie usually does that well
And theres the usual lore stuff
Most ppl won't have the same reaction to it tbh
I actually didn't see it being mention much at all
Fair
Oof
Hey uh did we ever figure out what the fuck was up with the giant fucking portal in vespers host
that's a story for later
we know that the Corrupted Puppeteer had the assimilated Fallen build it likely using some Vex tech that was stored on the station
I have my own theory on what it could be related to
The puppeteer?
yeah
the final boss
a surviving Atraks-1 body that was taken over by the Corruption
Ah, ran it once, got the exotic I will never use first try, then just didn't do it again
So wait that wasn't atraks?
The fuck was it?
a surviving Atraks-1 body that was taken over by the Corruption
yeah, but not one we know much about
Is it sentient
we know it can assimilate other minds
Like does it do things of its own will or does it just sorta do stuff
well it was able to command the Fallen it assimilated to build the Anomaly
Well that doesn't really mean it's sentient
For all we know it was like
Instinctual
eh I mean, not like we know much about it anyway
it was rather methodical in how it took control over the Fallen
stalking them and gradually assimilating each of them
the Puppetter sent a signal through it and one came back
Did we get rid of it or is it like in a screeb somewhere
the Puppeteer is the center of the corruption
Do we know what the portal is supposed to do?
the Puppeteer was trying to send a signal through it which it did
so it seems like it was trying to communicate with something
or someone
Taniks the corrupted
now Astraea (Vesper Central) is in full control over the station and is keeping an eye on the Anomaly
Why haven't we tried like
Sending the drifter through it
ever heard of a guy named Joxer?
No
he was a Crucible regular who used to work for Drifter
then one day, Drifter approached him with a special job
He died horribly didn't he
to test out some fancy armor in a new Gambit mode he was cooking up
Oh
That's all I needed to kn9w
Joxer ended up being the only member of his team who survived
after that, he turned his life around
started associating himself more with the Vanguard
then, he would volunteer to try and fly a ship thriugh the big triangualr portal on the Traveler
this was before we found a way through it
I'm sure that went well for him
so when Joxer tried to fly through well...
so anyways, that was how we found out that we needed to find another way through the Traveler portal
He can walk it off
Why didn't joker just tell his ghost to stay away while he jumped din, died, then cane back
Or was this guy not a gaurdian
anyways, that's probably why Drifter doesn't want to tempt fate by going through random portals
he was a Guardian
You mean to tell me the drifter doesn't want to risk his life going through a random portal
and I don't think they were expecting whatever that was
I refuse to believe anything goes through his mind other than "it'd be funny"
there is a lot more to Drifter than you think
you should read "A Man With No Name"
really good Drifter-centered lore book
he's been through some dark times
if you look deeper into his character, you can see how broken he is
it seems like Heresy could be delving more into this aspect of his character
I hope we get more moonrat chemistry
this is more of a fanon view of his character really
oh we are
To be fair I'd day like 30% of his character is still that despite everything
the Bento Boxes already gave us some of this
not really
that's all for show
Saint
and Saint did it because of what Savathun did to Osiris
Which is fair
if even Savathun hesitates at the thought of fighting us just because we beat her once, imagine what she thinks about Saint
In her defense there wasn't really much she could do against saint 14 considering she was most definitely just being spawn killed
That and she was like confined in the murder cube where saint just fucken went at it
the fact that Saint was able to put her in that position in the first place though
I mean also tbf wasn't savathun dead for like a few canon years straight, and her power was drained bc of Eris
She didn’t have access to the power through the Sword Logic after her death and rebirth in the Light
Yeah so she was weak asf
But it was just sorta latently sitting within her until someone who could use it took it out
I mean when Savathûn died after Season of the Lost after we exorcised her worm
I definitely agree that saint 14 fucken worked for that but we can't act like he was so busted he went 60-0 against peak savathun or smth
She can’t use or benefit from the Sword Logic without her worm parasite
At that point it was just beating a dead horse both literally and figuratively
true, but I'd imagine getting beat to the ground while defenseless for over an hour straight would leave a much stronger impression than being beaten once by someone after a hard-fought battle
Atp I think it'd be more so trauma than like actual fear though
I Mena fuck savathun might actually relish in it cause she can be like "lmao you had to hit me at my lowest to kill me you fucken suck"
@dim minnow why did riven have a change of heart
Seems rather arbitrary for an ahamkara, especially her specifically
We helped return her clutch to safety
because her mate just so happened to be the only good Ahamkara
And she was probably reminded a lot of how her mate Taranis was
and of course, we made an accord with her
Why didn't we just like
Kill them immediately
Why would we?
They're ahamkara
They aren't exactly the kindest of entities
We could have raised them 😔
Consider nature vs nurture
Their father Taranis is an indication of how the Ahamkara could be
- Mara seems to want to keep them around
- We put in all that effort to help them in a fair exchange which Riven glady did her part of
- We're hoping that the whims take after their father, Taranis
But what if they like
Dont
Then Guardians are experienced Ahamkara killers
then it's gonna be the Great Hunt part 2
But we aren’t just going to genocide this species based on what they could be like
I find it hilarious that the scorn in warlords ruin could've easily done anything they wanted but they were too fucking stupid to do so
The whole point of Wish was mending the relationship between humanity and Ahamkara
Yee
I mean
Didn't we do that with the fallen for a while
And the cabal
We weren’t massacring the children of our enemies because they could grow up to be bad
They were actively attacking us first, and not close to being wiped out
By the mere act of killing servitors we were doing exactly that
the only thing we did to the Fallen that was questionable was Saint's Crusade
He had his reasons
considering what they have been doing to us
keep in mind that during his crusade he attacked independent Fallen settlements
I didn't say they were good reasons
But he had em
basically going after Fallen who were not associating with the ones who attacked us
colonize?
They came to our system to begin with..
Like how England thought they were making Africans not barbarians but instead of racism that's like what actually happened
Iirc the fallen didn't exactly have the Mos peaceful of lives
no, we did not
House Light came to us in good faith as refugees in exchange for Mithrax and his Splicers helping us to deal with the Endless Night
They were mostly already peaceful civilians
That reminds me actually
Why didn't we just like
Remove eramis from existence
In BL
I get she was technically a deciple but she was a fallen
Plot
In fact why didn't we just do that to like every fallen enemy we had
We needed her for future stories
Fallen are good at surviving
Oh yeah
Is there a reason why we haven't skinned the spider alive
She wasn’t
Zavala thinks he could turn to a helpful ally eventually
Eramis didn’t work for the Witness until Plunder
Cause he is our ally??? He helped us get revenge for Cayde
Ok yeah but like
though the Witness had been manipulating her before that
That guy?
Spider’s a bastard but he’s useful and helpful
He still a ally
that was more of a transactional thing, besides, Uldren and the Scorn were his enemy as well
Killing him in cold blood would do no good for human-Eliksni relations
Yeah like Quark from deep space 9
True
What the fuck was up with auldren and Crow anyways? I know crow is just uldren without his memories but like how did crow not just go back to being uldren after his encounter with savathun?
a few years can change a man
Cause he still had the personality of Crow
Uldren hated Guardians, but Crow had the perspective of being one along with not being burdened by Uldren's many faults
That actually reminds me
Have there been any gaurdians that just
Decided to be evil
Like if you wake up one day not remembering anything and you start a new life and then suddenly you regain them and then see you were kinda a asshole and current you may not vibe with that
Dredgen Yor, Jana-14, Sola, Callum (though this was for a good reason admittedly)
That's it?
Also isnt the drifter like
Fucking ancient
Imagine looking back on memories from an almost outside perspective with years of growth that has turned you into the very different person you are from those memories
This is that nurture factor again
Drifter ain't really evil
oh, we also have Warlords
many Guardians are
I mean is that guy necessarily evil
Idk anything abt him I just know his gun is seen as evil
there's a reason the Vanguard banned it
What was it
he hunted other Guardians with it
the weapon is a Guardian killer
the tallies you see on the weapon
I'm sure you can guess what those were for
So wait
The vanguard saw this guy
With this gun
And was like
"Yeah the guns the bad thing"
my theory is that he made Red Death and Crimson to replace his Ghost
well they knew full well the guy was a lunatic too
read the Red Death Reformed lore tab
the fact that it can kill Guardians alone is enough for it to be considered a threat
Every single firearm could kill a gaurdian
I don't think you need to kill the Ghost for it
Thorn could drain a Guardian of their Light, killing them for good without killing their Ghost
I'd imagine Red Death had a similar capability
given my theory that the guy created them to replace the functions of his Ghost
perhaps they are meant to take Light from other Guardians
Aren't all of the ITL guns illegal
yeah, but not because they are Guardian killers
Doesn't zavala literally sell one of them
some were just too meta in Crucible
Edge Transit was just too much of a common drop when it first came out in Forsaken
others like Hung Jury I'm not sure
Didn't stasis make itself nicer canonically
that's what ti seems like
Would this not imply that stasis is sentient
ehhh
I think it would be more accurate to say that Stasis is heavily influenced by its wielder
perhaps Stasis balancing itself in canon was due to Guardians as a whole gaining more control over Stasis
That’s not what Cowlick’s theory was
huh
I see
I kind of like to compare Stasis to a certain aspect of the Force from Star Wars
in that it can corrupt you if you let it corrupt you
Let's say they're right and Stasis has in some way changed itself. Why would Stasis weaken its effect against other Guardians? I'll tell you exactly why. Same reason a virus evolves a strain that won't kill its host. People were turning against Stasis, didn't like what it was doing to their Crucible. So Stasis made itself nicer. So we'd keep on using it. If Stasis was better than what the Traveler gave us we wouldn't be able to accept it as just another colorful species of whoopass. We might get scared of it.
This is probably because of darkness manipulation bullshit but I will choose to believe stasis just wants to be friends with the light
it should be noted that in-universe, this is just a theory
Elsie Bray has said before she has too constantly make sure Stasis doesn't corrupt her
Well tbf she's an exo doesn't darkness have weird bullshit with Exos specifically
and the Beyond Light campaign seemed to imply that Stasis had a direct impact on Eramis' judgement
not really in that regard
read Dust
the lore book
the last two pages have the most important info
What stops a gaudiran from just making all the super into one
Like what stops me from just removing a dude from existence cause I feel like it
—
I am.
I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I.
At first this is all the loop of dust can calculate. It is the hardest thing in the universe for the dust to make a loop at all, because, like a gust of wind or a river, it was only meant to move one way. For a mind to function, the end of one thought must alter the beginning of the ne...
Oh this guy went insane didn't he
Who is “this guy”?
The dude who wrote this in canon
Was?
we don't really know what happened to her
Oh that's real nice
depends what Savathun did to her
who?
Xûr I assume
Do we know anything about him besides "Here have some free shit"
Yeah autocorrect my hated
Xur is an agent of the Nine
Fair haha
Yeha but is there anything else
Like is he part of a species
he is said to be a Jovian
once human, like the Awoken, but were transformed
the Nine use Xur to reach out to Guardians
Did they like
Steal his mind or some shit
we aren't really sure
it seems like he is forced to their will
What's up with the horse
Where does it fall into this vaguely parasitic relationship between the nine and xur
Starhorse is a separate entity
the Dark Horse is not the Starhorse and is instead a reference to the Dark Horse Nebula
I'm sorry there's two horses
I was talking about star horse the fuck is the dark horse
it only appears in the room with the giant Emissary

Starhorse just runs the Dares of Eternity
yeah, he isn't relly relevant to the main story
he's just there
The fact that our is there implies the nine greatly value game shows and entertainment
This means that they can probably be bargained with
the Nine are reliant on us
if all life on Sol dies, they die too
they are trying to make it so they don't need to rely on us
four of them are trying to make their own worlds to rely on safely
the rest are trying to understand Light and Dark so they can use them to end their reliance on us
these ones are the ones who send Xur and the Emissary to us
Ok see now I gotta ask
basically they mainly want to watch Guardians do stuff
Oh my god it's a fucking antfarm
the House of Wolves dlc in D1 happened literally just because both Mara and the Nine wanted an excuse to watch Guardians do shit
Wait if mara can interact with them why doesn't she just like
Ask them to solve our problems
the Nine are not very efficient
Idc if they can't remove the witness I feel like having 9 paraversal entities to help kill it would be good
What the fuck do you mean they aren't efficient
Aren't they like
Gods
they have difficulty deciding on what to tell us and what to do
Of reality
they also don't really understand us too well
I feel like it ain't hard to comprehend we don't want to fucking die
the whole Skolas incident in D1 was an aexample of their games going too far
one of them also helped the Red Legion reach the Last City without we the Guardians detecting them
just so it can find out how to claim the Light
that was a huge disaster and almost ened in Sol's destruction
basically, be thankful the Nine don't get involved more
Why have we not killed these creatures at this point
they're sentient clouds of space dust tied to the gravitational wells of each planet in Sol
how tf do we even kill them
Bomb their planet lol
WE LIVE ON THEM TOO

Name 1 single piece of value we can obtain from the moon realistically
There'd hive
EVERYWHERE
no reason to kick a hornets nest when it is not needed
No reason to kick it when you can just remove it from existence
also, we physically don't even have the means to cause that level of destruction
I mean clearly clovis bray did didn't he propose that
he's full of himself
Fair
I feel like the giant fucking laser that we shot out of ghost that shattered the reality ending wall is probably capablr
like he says "blow up the Moon and replace it with something" ok, do you have a weapon that can do that as well as resources to build a repalcement for it?
I mean he's clovis I'm sure he probably did
He invented time travel didn't he
I mean shit the vex gollowed out an entire fucking planet
That’s not something we can do again
I feel like hundreds of thousands of nova bombs would to the trick
I'm just sayin it can't be that hard given what we've already seen entities do
Why not jsut Chuck the moon into the giant fucking portal
Not only would we figure out what the portal does but also solve the moon problem
What portal?
“Chuck the moon”?
Also that doesn’t solve the problem at all
I mean doesn’t earth still need the moon for gravitational things
The witness stole an entire planet didn't it it can't be that hard
We need the moon
lol
The Witness
Just build a new moon
None of us are anywhere near the power the Witness held
Why are we getting rid of our moon
Fucken Darth Vader did it just make a giant fucking stasis crystal
You severely overestimate Guardians
This is just silly now lmao
See you say that bit eris literally did that
Palpatine's court jester ain't in the Destiny universe
Yes exactly
Ez just become hive gods and control the hive on the moon
Wait if eris killed like whoever controls them would that have worked
Hypothetically would that have actually worked
THATS WHAT IM SAYIN!
Yeah!
We killed the witness it can't be that hard
This is free
Eris cast aside the power she gained from being a Hive God for a reason
I’m excited for new dungeon lore though
That is not how this works at all
Nah but seriously like if the vex can hollow put nessus why can't we just like nova bomb spam it
The cabal did good damage to nessus and they really weren't there that long
Destroying the moon would mess up earth tho
Wait
Ok hang on this is gonna sound really fucking stupid
What if
We use time travel right
Stay with me here
Nessus is not that big
We blow up the fucking moon
We can’t time travel
Them how tf did Elsie get here
How long does it take to get 14 season pass levels?
Elsie is in an unexplained time loop beyond her control
Circumstances that don't apply to us
The entire duration of shadowkeep
What
We don’t have the ability to do so, or the ability to replace it
Can we stop with these silly hypotheticals now
All I'm saying is if we blow up the moon hive go bye bye
And we're saying it isn't feasible
It ain't gotta be feasible I never said it would be efficient
But it would solve the hive problem
It’s not possible at all
Hive are on places other than the Moon too you know
Then we blow up those planets silly
This neophyte is messing with us he has to be
I feel like I've made that rather clear yeah
Neophyte?
Yeah hey wait a minute what did he call me
I’ve never heard that in my life lmao
Mf called me a shitty cultist I'm crying
Probably the first definition
Then I suggest you read #✅welcome-and-rules
Oh mb
@dim minnow what stops us from sending like 50 gaurdians at some guy rather than like 3
The Great Disaster
The what
Then those guys were shit gaurdians
Since then, operations are generally limited to small, precise strike teams
To minimise mass losses
Guardians are a finite army
Ig that makes sense but what about against like
The witness
Would it not make sense to be like "Well if we lose we all fucking die so"
We didn't even have a way to kill it until the end of TFS
And by that point, we sent everyone to kill it
Excision showed that many Guardians showed up to ensure the Witness was defeated
Yeah but why not do that for the raid, isn't the raid what even enabled us to be even remotely capable of victory
Not really
In every other rfivjt it makes sense but for the witness like
Everyone was gonna die anyways if we fucked up
Why not just full sent
We did. Everyone else was fighting the army of Dread, House Salvation, Hive, Taken, and Scorn.
Oh, and Sol Divisive Vex.
don't forget Shadow Legion
What are the 3 echos called
Echo of Command, Echo of Riis and Echo of Navigation
Echo of Command - Supposedly the memory of the Qugu, a race wiped out by the Hive. It allows its user to command the minds of others. After the Witness' defeat, it ended up in the Vex Network where Maya Sundaresh managed to claim it first. Currently it is still in her possession.
Echo of Riis - Memory of the Eliksni who suffered from the Whirlwind. In the hands of Fikrul, it allowed him to turn living Eliksni into Scorn. It also allowed a sort of mirror dimension known as the Revenant Plane to manifest. After Fikrul's death, the Echo chose Eramis to be its new wielder who left Sol to try and restore the Eliksni to their former glory.
Echo of Navigation - Its nature is not entirely known yet. Seems to be the memory of Oryx, the Taken King.
Echo of Rizz

So did anyone notice in the heresy trailer that when drifter is apparently ressed he's in what looks to be that same void the nine spoke to him in?
Like he's been ressed and is in a dream maybe?
how many echoes are there?
3
Is it ever mentioned how glimmer forging works to make ammo
Do you gotta stick it into a machine and program it into a bullet
Or ghost just transmats it into a bullet
Ghost transmats ammo to us
is that why our primary have endless ammo?
and i guess why we can seemingly carry a bunch of ammo
no, theres not a lore reason for that
in fact, going by that, we do not have infinite ammo.
saddd but fair XD
as per cayde
Infinite ammo is gameplay only. In universe though we have limited ammo
The better system imo
We used to have limited ammo on primaries
we still do
Real oldheads will remember we had to carry ammo synths that would generate ammo on a five minute timer
No we don't. All primary ammo is infinite now.
The days of no rally flags. So you didn't start with full super and stuff
So we probably in-universe do have a similar system of needing to pull the ammo into wherever we go with some not-instant but reliable way to replenish it on longer operations
oh right i misread it XD
my bad
Weapons that regenerate ammunition are generally considered special so we know they're special that way
That's what i thought too
The ammo feed system is shaped like an infinity symbol
i know lol
Then there is the sweet business and actium war rig combo.
||So eris just woke up in her own throne world at the end of the mission?||
|| im mad i forgot about toland. im curious what role he will play in this ||
|| im also curious where the drifter went, since he didnt get death barriered haha ||
||Probably why she was laughing||
||is Akka on the dreadnaught?||
||I seem to remember that Akka was carved out to make the dreadnaught||
||so Akka IS the dreadnaught?||
||do not tell me Eris died in the 1st mission||
||If she died, and just respawned on her throne world (she kept one...?) it would be 10/10 terrible of Bungie to instantly show us she respawned.. I mean what the hell.||
||did they really make a entirely new faction where the units have new abilites just for a season?||
||yes they did||
||i hope they reuse the dire for a future dlc patrol zone||
||I hope they keep them and this is the new taken||
||that would be nice||
||I like the new thrall and Minotaurs||
||I already hate the new taken vandals they can cloak XD but at least the taken goblins don't heal anymore||
||I always hated the teleporting thrall and the shielding goblins and vandals so anything is better than that lol||
||yeah lol||
||Uhh i found a recently dead looking cabal on the Dreadnaught||
||Armor pattern looks like it's from D1, maybe there's some survivors from the initial incursion?||
||could be if so damn impressive if they survived on the dreadnaught for that long, tho it could also be a object as part of the map itself||
||I think this guy is a big Witness fan||
Nah that's ridiculous, he would never be
XD
||The interior peels itself off x.x||
||Pretty sure the ending cutscene of the first part of heresy where eris dies and is somehow alive? Little theory is that since eris did infact become a hive god, and im no lore expert, but since the dreadnaughts throne world is empty, and eris didnt make one to my knowledge. Eris could have taken oryx's throne and is in the throne. We will embody vengence/navigation throughout the season and revive eris. In the trailer we hear oryx saying we seek his throne/his dreadnaught as well. Us becoming the navigator will allow us to revive eris.||
Major spoilers if my theory is correct
i can totally get on board with this theory
Pretty much
Yea the way she was laughing
Like it was planned
I haven’t played past the quest step where you enter the apartment, || is this similar to Mara Sov where she managed to die and be reborn in control of a throne world? ||
Seems likely
That’s gonna be interesting
Is there a lorebook or collection of tabs that goes into what it was like from Mara’s POV when everyone thought she was dead? I’ve read every pre-WQ awoken lorebook and haven’t found one
or maybe like an "ah of course" type of thing, like ironic
She in a pocket dimension basically
We can't reach her as of now
mara sov was basically in her throne world
I meant mara lore
I don’t even know if she “died” in d2 or d1
We will have to find a way to bring her back but rn we dont even know she is in a throne world
Mara was dead, she died in D1 in the taken king, but had a throne world called Eleusinia
Which is actually the shattered throne dungeon
just curious, how did the drifter revive in the cutscene? I didnt see a ghost
Also the tablet of ruin has a quote from the winnower
The world is not built on the laws they love ... not with peace but by victory at any means
Drifter is a lightbearer
whats that
Guardians are city-affiliated lightbearers
People that were resurrected by the traveler/a ghost
Ex: dark age warlords are lightbearers but not guardians because the city didn’t exist back then and they just ran around killing people and claiming land
so he doesn't need a ghost to revive or anything? he is immortal?
You do need a ghost
but he doesn't have one? or does he, I didn't see one when he revived. What's the difference between lightbearers and guardians? abilities, lifespan?
Lightbearer is just the word for a non guardian. Drifter doesn't defend the city like we do.
He isn't in any class either
He was brought back by a ghost and since then has just tried to survive
He has a ghost but theyve never shown his ghost
His is all sorts of messed up
Like his ghost actually killed someone, by itself
"The Drifter's Ghost is the nameless Ghost partnered to the Drifter. Though it typically keeps itself hidden, it is distinguishable by its red eye, inability to speak and a shell reinforced by the innards of five dead ghosts. This appearance is the result of extensive modifications it underwent during the Red War that granted it access into spectrums of Light beyond any other Guardians know of, and even into spectrums beyond the Light and into the Darkness, which lead to the creation of Motes of Dark, Gambit and The Derelict."
Is there a chance that eris teleported into her throne world upon death
I mean she is sort of hive god
I’m afraid I got it all mixed up but that would be cool
Showing eris still being alive this early was such a fumble wont lie
Prob the 100th time something like this was posted but the fumble kinda makes me sad we had something going here
It’s what we call long form storytelling
The season hasn’t even started yet, let them cook
Im not destroyed about it
Im still interested, just sometimes wished they put just a tiny bit of salt on the wound
Its more of an out of character thing like drifter is gonna play it as she is dead
So are we since we went to the apartment
It does feel a bit odd but it makes sense she would have a throne world
Because of season of the witch
Yeah that might be why
She also helped mara make a throne world, but im thinking its not eris's throne world but rather oryx's being taken over by eris accidently
I'm assuming she being alive on that second cutscene is her in her throne world but that laugh is kind of.... ominous
Hol' up
Perhaps the reason why the new stories feel so dull and bland (apart from the fact they fired like 50% of their writers) is because with the Final Shape we essentially defeated the Devil
When you defeat the ultimate evil any enemies that come afterward will feel like less of a threat
Working theory:
||Xivu Arath orders the murder of Eris Morn. Upon Eris Morns death, Xivu Arath at some point takes over her body. This was in an attempt to effectively use Eris Morns throne world as a replacement to her own, as Xivu Arath has been banished from her own.||
She was on Titan when it was taken
Season of the Deep goes into the whole shebang but basically she’s tuned in on the taken radio line without risk of becoming a mindless puppet
W
With a little bit of risk, if she ever loses control she could be fully taken but that won’t happen
but thats what we r learning to control right?
I think? I haven’t gotten past the first nether run yet
this activity is actually fun lol so many secret things in it
It’s so good
is this a spoiler free channel cuz WTF DID I JUST WITNESS IN THE FIRST MISSION?????
erm
eris got a groll she wanted for awhile thats y she was laughing
||nah im talking about her being stabbed by the subjugator???||
ya that happened too
he was shlumped
needed a break
||nah dude im about to crash out she better not be fkn dead||
she dead
thats heresy
the end
i got no clue all ik is im finding some crazy places on the dreadnought
I FOUND LORE
THIS WAS AT THE BOSS ROOM
HAS TO BE RELATED
dog
theres so much
theres little pedistals you can activate too
ive been to the nether once so i have no clue
ALSO the eliksni ships that are blown up
i currently have 2 randoms hostage while i explore 🙂
i did it solo🗣️
i have yet to figure out what this is
BRO WHAT IS GOING ON ON THE COOOOOMMMMMSSSS
we dropping like flies wtf
ngl they better keep this level of storytelling up for this whole episode, im already hooked and it hasnt even been 30 minutes
MF GIANT EYEBALLSS????????
ya they got aura lvls dont let it get too high
bro... wtf man ||why eris||
ORYX IS A DAUGGHTER????
ye originally named Auryx but went LGBTQ when she bacame a god
not a diss btw twas a joke
have you never read the books of sorrow?
i dont lore lol
Yup Oryx was Auryx, Savathun was Sathona, and Xivu Arath was Xi Ro
im just trying to find these stinky worms
you should watcha video on or read the Books of Sorrow, they are quite a great piece of literary art
some of my favorite reads of all time tbh
Oryx was Aurash actually
then Aurash became Auryx
and Auryx became Oryx
Aurash, Xi Ro, and Sathona were all female
when Aurash took the king morph, she became Auryx which also switched her to a male
and later down the line when Auryx gained the power to take, he became Oryx, the Taken King
then he became a corpse
and how he's nothing but a memory
have u collected all the wormie dudes?
Haven't logged in yet
eris morn apartment is the closest thing we are getting to guardian housing
Rip
And then uh idk haven't played far enough into the season yet but ghost maybe?
They gotta give Drifters VA a raise man
Pretty good intro to hersey ngl 👌
Is this spoiler free I was gonna spoils something but I wanna ask first or my thoughs
Thoughts
There is no spoiler rule in effect so ask away
I was gonna say idk if yall did hersey. but in one of the cinematic eris takes her blindfold off and her voice tone changed you think it would be xivu because swear her voice did not sound the same kinda sound like xivu
That was definitely Eris’ laughing so I’m not sure what you mean. It also definitely doesn’t sound like Xivu, who is always very loud and projects her voice
Someone correct me but isn't Eris just hanging out in her throne world now?
That's how I interpreted that scene
Unknown
Okay it wasn't said explicitly but that would make sense at least no?
Fair
In the meantime
Bro acted his ass off in that opening mission
Agreed
hmmm
what if it's Savathun

maybe it could be something caused by Eris stealing her power back in Witch
It might just be my mind then
So wait do we have taken ability how dose this work exactly or is it something else
What's it say
Don't tell me it spells out our ruin
On the tablet
That being?
The Winnower
It’s just scary to see The Winnower, especially because the last time they were “active” was granting Auryx the power to take
Might have to ask Byf, he’s just mentioned it a lot and how it’s slightly annoyed we keep disrupting the game
I'm not asking Byf
The Witness said something like “each child we save, you force to play the game”
But yeah it was a quip I've heard mention back in Final Shape that the Winnower was apparently quite angy at us
But eh we'll see
I just dunno how you even fight a cosmic entity lmao. The Winnower is the big boss, and it’s even further removed than the Witness was which begs to ask the question, why would it care?
||So....any idea if the Hidden swarm are on the Dreadnaught on Xivu's behalf Or because they are the remnants of Crota's brood and goes "Oi what u dread doing with our grandpa's ship >:("||
You thin she really dead
He is HIM for sure did you read the artifact lore
wut?
her body wouldnt just be left here for us to hold
Never mind did you play hersey ?
if weavers and attendants are psions reshaped by witness then who are subjugators?
The witness culled many species
genetic iterations of Rhulk's dna from a sampled presumably collected a long time ago
It could be a number of them
same deal with Nez and Tormentors
Or is that the grim I'm thinking of
Yes
i also doubt they're individual members of the original species
Those are unknown orgin
i also think they're just a collected dna sample that are engineered and mass produced
husks are implied to be acolyte corpses piloted by resonance worms
yes lol
I finished the seasonal stuff for this week. So far I'm loving it and this episode def started off pretty full on imo.
Can't wait to see more lore and story development
i wished we saw more of the hive in the nether acivety
Its more about the dread too
