Void is nothingness, strand is the connection inbetween everything. Stasis is not moving, heat is literally movement, but so is arc
Void isnât nothingness, itâs the invisible physical forces like gravity
Long ago, the 5 elements lived in piece, until the solar nation attacked
Closest thing i compare it to is singularity
Stasis is exerting your will over others and quite literally stopping all movement on an atomic level
The st- naming conventions prove a pattern and the pattern is incomplete. Rahool would love this puzzle
Absolute 0
Or you could just cite the Osiris explanation
Which is
Stasis is not related to actual freezing due to low temperature
Makes sense
Emptiness is not nothingness
When a molecule doesnt move its at abosolute 0
which is cold
When you attack something with it the air particles also stop moving, freeze
Stasis sharfs
Which happens when an object becomes cold
Cold is more akin to a lack of vibration energy
Stasis forces all movement including the movement of time to simply stop
The formation of crystals is the result
The temperature is more to a side effect
Yeah but cold things still move its only -273.5 C things that dont move
the only thing stasis can freeze is time and space to a stop
0 kelvin is just the coldest we achieved but isit the absolute limit?
Nothing can be moving less than not moving at all
Lol thats a good quote
Cowlickâs Stasis analysis is ever-useful
Stasis is more akin to cold or cryo instead of ice which is a result of when water becomes cold
The Stasis crystals aren't water ice. Obvious enough, but I thought I'd get it out of the way. The extraordinary property of Stasis is its ability to create ordered structures from chaosâit doesn't care what kind of matter is available; it just sucks entropy out of the system until it's got a crystal.
Absolute zero is just the lowest temperature theoretically possible
Stasis is literally the complete absence of all energy whatsoever
Time itself just stops
Colder than absolute zero
But then again i read somewhere that stasis crystal doesnât feel cold to touch
The point of paracausal power is that they go beyond established sciences and fundamental forces
I donât think thatâs true
Cowlick cites that as a theory
Makes sense
Lemme get the quote
Stasis isnât just the coldest, it actively removes everything
Is that not how Eramis survived being a stasis popsicle for years on end
Itâs not like she was getting dietary supplements
It was just a complete blur on her end
(Now, I am a little disappointed to discover that the super vacuum hypothesis is out. Quantum physics says it's impossible to know the exact energy state of a volume of space, and "zero" is an exact energy stateâso it's physically illegal for a volume of space to have zero energy when observed. That's why we get random virtual particles popping in out of the void; they're created and destroyed by the energy of emptiness. Some Warlocks thought that if you carried out the impossible task of sucking ALL the energy out of a volume of space-time, nulling out even the zero-point fluctuations and achieving a True Void, then you could achieve a physical regime where space and time themselves ceased to exist. Instead, you'd get a "space-time condensate," a superfluid vacuum capable of interacting with itself to generate structure. In this theory, the Stasis crystals were a cold so deep that they froze space-time itself! It had a certain elegance, but either the True Void does not exist, or it is not here attained, or I am just misinterpreting this data.)
I must admit I understand not a lot of the sciencey stuff here
It was the witnis who let her out yeah
But just contextually, it appears that Cowlick is dismissing that theory from being fact
?
@trim grotto whenever you have time can I see if you understand this better than I?
Hmmm
Potentially this is even something for the FAQ
So solar and arc are simple then
Just lighting and fire energy?
Wait no
Solar is like nuclear stuff
Bc sun
But osiris doesnât have control over stasis right? Only strand?
We havenât seen him use it, but itâs not unlike Osiris to have at least looked into it heavily
Ya cuz wiki doesnât say he has full access of all, just the light powers and strand
Wait so ikora uses void right? But she knows stasis and some others yes?
Zavala uses stasis
Cayde used to use solar
Ikora likely knows all the subclasses. Void is definitely her signature one though
Eris and elsie are stasis
Wait is saint 14 still a lightbearer
or no
Osiris is strand
I wonder
Yes
We see him use Sentinel Shield in Echoes
Oh yes
And cast Ward of Dawn in Excision
Interesting
But ikora hasnt in cutscenes or gameplay use any darkness power right
Ah, gotta go youtube that one
probably stasis
Either way they were using darkness together
I think ikora could wield prismatic though
Strand
She has mastery of all
We know from dialogue that Ikora taught Zavala Stasis, but we see in the cutscene that sheâs using Strand
Oh
And we can assume she knows arc and solar
So she litterally knows all
Why cant she use prismatic
Prismatic isnât just having access to the subclasses individually
Itâs using the power of the pale heard to blend them together
Its the power of the pale heart?
âThe line between light and dark is goneâ is how Ghost described it
Yeah?
Itâs the same pink as the portal
I thought it was just bridging the game between light and dark
No, itâs specifically blending it together
Just using a light melee and a dark grenade isnât prismatic
The actual transcendence power is what prismatic is
The pink stuff that actually mixes light and darkness directly
I might be actually dumb i just assumed the pink was the average of all the subclass colors but now that i think about it no it isnt đ
This is what the average of the colors would be according to chat gpt
Tanned
Yep
What am I even supposed to say to this
?

So erm, what class do you guys main?
Uh
trynna change the conversation
Targe
I personally main opiuchus
Warlock.
I only have 1 character so it's not really me "maining" something
Formerly Sundance, then Glint. But, have been on Targe and Ophiuchus lately.
im going to leave that extra space there
Sagira
Anyone here main geppetto?
Heâs dead and gone
He wasnât on the moon
Waiting for Rasputin to be revived and become the first SIVA subclass member

Sacrificed himself to stop Eramis from using the warsat network against us

Here
This is where rasputin made the sacrifice
That's ana bray.
The other exo is her sister elsie bray
Before Lightfall
This was a while ago now
Also Maya wasn't featured properly outside of lore and vague references until Episode Echoes
I didn't see Rasputin died in the YouTube video
Some lore tabs, the audio logs on Neomuna and MSund12 reference in that one strike
He was unplugged
He dead
No
That exo on the wall is Rasputin
The one ana refers to as red
The one she pulled the cord on
Ana is the human, Rasputin is the exo on the wall. The other exo who ana hugs is Elsie
Rasputin was deleted so that the warsats would be deactivated for good. So far none of Rasputins weapons can be used anymore
Now that he is gone
The giant black thingy that's going to shoot traveller?
Also isn't traveller capable of defending herself?
Yes those are warsats. Rasputins orbital laser system. Eramis was going to use them against the traveler so Rasputin sacrificed himself to stop her.
Not really. It's capable of short bursts of strength but won't all out fight back
As far as she is aware it is a theory she does not support
God dang it
The traveler has never been a being capable of destruction. It terraforms things and uses light more to push things back rather than destroy
@trim grotto where is the list of all events of D2 again?
Alright
Do you want the "short" version or the long version
I wanna watch from shadowkeep till final sheep includes season
is it more than just âx foundry takes names from y theme, such as z weaponâ
how long could it be
well the long version was written by a guy who studies linguistics haha
Cassoid = Latin Language and Roman Numerals = Mos Ganon V
Nadir = Scientific Term and 3-letter alpha code (two upper case, 1 lower case, MSc) = Baryon MSc
SUROS = Music-Related Term followed by "-##" = Sonata-48
Omolon = "Abyssal or Cthonic Entity" (per Destinypedia) followed by a space, the weapon type abbreviation and a number = Jigoku SR5
Hakke = Famous Ruler or Legendary Figure followed "-[letter upper case]" typically earlier letters in the alphabet for progressing rarity = Galahad-E
Veist = Vemonous creatures followed by "-#[weapon abbreviation in lower case]" = Jararaca-3sr
Daito = Geographical Places and Cities followed by "-[weapon abbreviation, upper case]#" = Cydonia-AR2
Crux/Lomar = Royal or Noble Name followed by a space, two-letter alpha code upper case / # = Baron RS/1
Tex Mechanica = Wild West themes followed by a space, designation, space, number = Maverick Mk. 32
As written by Eruke as a shorthand version
There is a link to a spreadsheet that contains the information of all the events throughout Destiny 2 somewhere in this channel.
Where is it again?
Depends which you mean. There's a recap written by Dova in the pins. Otherwise there's a few timeline sources I can refer to.
I wish we can pin what eris wrote earlier for a simple recap summary of things since the start of lore
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/timeline
Ishtar's is here for example
The Red War begins D2
You could ask Eris herself. She is a mod.
@jagged badge would you be so kind? I think it would greatly help any newcomers or people who wants a history lesson.
not this one
i remembered someone sending me it
but i forgot who
dis wan
she in theory could, but idk if she is as strong in the light as us, or however that goes
Strength in a Lightbearer's abilities isn't really measurable past a certain point. There's cases like Ana's Golden Gun leaving sunspots during Twilight Gap, and Crow-as a new light-having his knives made from Solar being described as "Crude", but in terms of a differing in power output, there isn't really a "Stronger", as far as I know.
Ikora has been ranked as a 5th sigma guardian when one of her hidden friends "measured" her power. So there is some form of power level to guardians
to be fair that same entry also critiqued the validity of such ranking
True but it does still show that guardians fall into some type of power measurement even if at the end of the day it might not mean anything at all
Guardians do hunt for power after all so I'm not surprised that some compare themselves to others or that a ranking system even exists
Not really, but for two different reasons.
Firstly: Saint-14 would have been killed by the Martyr Mind without our intervention. In our original past, he was. The same thing would have occurred were we not involved this time.
Secondly: Our actions bound the timelines together. Two pasts, one future.
Hmm? I don't follow?
Flip the image round to make the metaphor more apparent
i used copy paste from the internet and literally none of them are oriented that way on google images
Ohh
I'm glad this topic came up because I've been meaning to refresh on this
Wait wait wait
Hold up
Wait a minute
Something ain't right
Why is Osiris and saint timeline different?
Aren't we all in the same timeline beside clone saint?
she means that the timeline we're from and the one living saint was from became one
the two pasts are both as true as one another
Yeah i kinda seem to accept that
But why is this different?
Aren't we all in the same timeline?
Us Osiris original saint
The Saint we saved is not from the same timeline
Perhaps my labels are unclear
But I called the last part âRescued Saint timelineâ because the timelines merged after he was rescued
Turns out bottom is timeline after we abduct different saint
Before
Nice a branch
my amazing art skills
Yesssss
Marvel Endgame
From the one where Ancient one drew a line and branches
To explain it to Bruce Banner
Except that was an opposite case where she shows a branch coming off the timeline. This is a case of a branch coming on to the timeline
yes
well if my logic is correct, after we abduct saint, we make another branch.
One where saint isn't there
Another timeline where alternate saint isn't there
What about our analogy wasnât clear
at first it isn't very clear
Thereâs no branch off. We conjoin the timelines
now it is
incredibly important
Are we talking about echos side plot drama again?
no
This needs to be pinned too
Rmb there was some mad warlock woman who started killing all the stasis users condemning them as heretics then she got locked up or whatever, where is she anyway? I rmb she learned to accept the fact that darkness isnt an enemy just a fact of life.
Well she was one of the Guardians who attempted to fight the Witness at the start of Lightfall
Her, Aisha and Reed were in the ships the Witness just simply destroyed
Fortunately for her and Aisha, their Ghosts werenât sliced like Reedâs was
The ships in the cutscenes? Those werenât the fireteam that appears in the early days destiny trailer? I think those guys also appeared in the osiris cutscene where he simply stops time when the two fireteam was engaging the vex.
They were written in lore released during Lightfallâs year to have been the Trials fireteam
The fireteam in the trailers arenât a canon thing, considering in said trailers, theyâre taking the place of the Young Wolf in story beats
Ah i see.
Also they were just a random group of 3 humans in the trailers
This is a good resource, honestly
Oryxs flagship and throne world. It's an anomaly and if it were destroyed it would take saturn with it I believe.
We killed oryx so now it has just been drifting in Saturn's rings since then
The amount of lore on the dreadnought would fill a book. I'm just giving you the basics of what it is.
But there's things like the books of sorrow detailing it's creation and the prisoners it holds in it's depths.
The whole thing is an anomaly and shouldn't exist by logical means
damn
@trim grotto who is Vesper's host?
I'll get back to you on that
I want to do a fresh go-over of Vesper's Host lore to ensure I've got the best understanding
I can answer any other questions in the meantime however
is this Shayura?
yep
Day 19 of asking fun facts lore
Golden Age Häkke is the company that created the Graviton Lance
Yes. Any weapon produced by Häkke since... Witch Queen introduced the concept of Origin Traits.
Exotics aside, that is, since they already have their own unique traits and perks.
Most folks don't really use anything older except for Exotics. It's also why guns from older raids are being reprised to be craftable and have origin traits, such as the newly reprised loot from Garden of Salvation.
Zavala likes to knit blankets.
hakke would really need more heavy burst pulses then
They did also create Revision 0
...oh so that's why he was teaching caiatl?
Häkke in the Golden Age is rather different to Häkke in the City Age, mind you
Now Mael, I need u back in #âdestiny-questions
nay
for now, i sleep
as i have work tomorrow
fairwell
Yes. Also why we saw Saladin and Caiatl in the cutscene after excision
well to be fair knitting takes discipline
True
The lightblade escaped during witch queen when we fought them so I wonder if it's possible he could return to the dreadnought in heresy. Would kinda of fit the heretic theme having a light bearing hive in the dreadnought.
Maybe it could be a new strike inside his old cell.
Or hell even a new dungeon since we're still supposed to get 1 more out of the 3 episodes
Somehow Oryx returned... Wielding the Light this time
his body ain't there anymore, we have it
Thought it was still there but we had just collected tissue samples and locked down the area.
I wonder whats the newest gun company
Veist iirc
Was it made during the city age? Do we know the founder?
I donât know if we know the name but we know how the concept came into being
He watched a man die from a snake bite just outside the city walls
The snake in particular was also native to SA which is nice attention to detail
Hahaha. Dude saw a snake kill a man, proceeded to make more snakes to kill many things.
I'd assume shortly after we killed Simm the protective bubble would've collapsed
So locking the area down wouldn't be feasible long term
Is zavalla still the titan vanguard?
Yes
Ok
Thanks Mael â¤ď¸
Yeah, he may be lightless but he's far from helpless
Maybe heâll actually wear his helmet from now on
unironically, is there a lore entry about a guardian tryna dring omolon gun fluid?
i keep wondering what would happen
There is not. But you could look up ooblek and imagine drinking that while it's charged with various flavours of spicy energy.
Omolon fluid seems really responsive to movement, isn't oobleck something that doesn't flow easily when no pressure is applied to it?
Itâs the opposite
Ooblek is a liquid that essentially becomes solid once pressure is applied.
I'm taking a guess in that the liquid ammunition that Omolon uses may be similar. Or maybe not, who knows?
@trim grotto do you know if there's any lore on the whereabouts of the lightblade? Considering we're going back to the dreadnaught I think that means there's a pretty high chance they could return there.
Not that I am aware of
Ok then just wondering
Did the strike yesterday and when I saw the ghost fly off it got me thinking if they could reappear somewhere
I actually forgot about this happening. Maybe it was to facilitate an in-universe reason to repeat Lightblade? I think they stopped doing things like this by then though.
I read up earlier in this channel that most Vex are just workers that have tools that are capable of being used for combat and that we donât really know what a âwarrior vexâ is. But now I wanna know is Atheon just another one of these worker vex or??
There is no evidence that "warrior vex" as their own subtype exist.
All Vex are multitaskers. Vex weaponry is as much a weapon as a tool.
Atheon was a Vex who ran the equivalent of an experimental science lab. It was not a soldier.
Yeah, the idea that there are Vex frames built specifically for combat, came from Calus iirc. And, he isn't very trustworthy, as he is often hyperbolic.
Indeed. It was an offhanded comment at best, and did not suggest that they actually existed - just that he was aware that Vex were not produced solely with the idea of combat in mind, and we should fear that they may one day attempt this.
The closest example that comes to mind was the Martyr Mind that killed Saint-14, and even that was also used to drain his Light. Despite this, it was simply a large Minotaur in chassis.
Day 20 of asking fun facts lore
The Martyr Mind could definitely be seen as a non-combat specialist unit, with only the purpose to target Saint's Light specifically.
Saint-14 went on such bloody crusades against the Eliksni that they told fearful stories of him to their children as if he were the boogeyman or reaper.
Oooo
Baba yaga
I once heard
He killed a person many times
With a FUCKEN shield
Also worth mentioning that is he's good friends with the a Kell, now. His story as the "Saint" to the Eliksni was concluded in Season of the Splicer.
Heroes and villains are all a matter of perspective. Mithrax tells the Eliksni bedtime story of the monster known as "The Saint".

Floof is right. Saint is on strong terms with the Eliksni of House Light these days.
But this shows what they thought of him in the past.
Ah, I was just about to link this lmao

He's too fast
How many seasons are there?
There's too much
I wanna binge watch all the campaign and seasons
But I guess it's fucken 72 hours worth of time
Echoes would be 25, though the Season system wasn't quite as we know it back in the beginning.
Red War, Curse of Osiris, and Warmind are technically considered the first Seasons

I've watched red war
And it took me 3 hours
Just for a campaign
There's like 10 campaigns
And 25 seasons

I still remember my teammate one shotting Ghaul with a single Nova Bomb.
Very anti climactic.
Geppetto.
4 seasons a year. Like actual seasons.
This year they changed Seasons to Episodes. 3 a year, divided into 3 acts each.
I believe they're going back to Seasons next year.
What is confusing about that?
Episodes have acts. 3 acts an episode.
Like chapters in a story.
Why did Bungie suddenly want to change it?
We are in Act 2 of Episode Revenant right now
Episodes are longer, so they could have more content than a Season. In theory.
Episode Echoes launched shortly after Final Shape did.
Oh....
June 11th
Lost signal abberant?
Those are guns
In the episode echoes?
They are from Echoes, yes.
What was the first episode this year?
Echoes.
Revenant is the second?
Yes.
What
What?
We are in Act 2 of Revenant. We still have a 3rd Act before we get to Heresy.
Heresy will last a few months itself.
Is heresy the dreadnaught?
Do we have info on act 3?
The Dreadnaught will be involved, somehow. As will the Hive, and probably Xivu Arath.
Info on act 3?
Well, the current story will continue. Finding the Apothecary, fighting Fikrul, hopefully curing Misraaks.
During a previous season we collected relics of Nezzy to turn them into a nice tea that could wake Osiris from his coma
Turns out meddling around with these artifacts kinda gave him the big sick
Relics of nezarec?
Yes
What is his relic?
Remember when Savathun took over his body?
And then got imprisoned by Mara Sov and struck a deal to exorcise her worm
After we did that she gave Osiris back but he was in a deep coma
It did
How did mara sov imprison savathun?
Did she cast a spell?
Use techeuns?
Yes yes yes

Some small notes
1 by this time Crow had no recollection of his former life
2 we didnt actually know that Savathun was controlling Osiris at least the characters thought Osiris just kinda pulled the traitor move during season of Splicer
Also known as the boss of the Root of Nightmares Raid
Who is next to saint?
Us lol
Oh lol
I didn't know
Okay okay I kinda know roughly the timeline
But some parts are missing
So we killed crow first then Osiris gets possessed
After Forsaken there were a bunch of seasons like Gambit, Black Forge etc.
Then there was Shadowkeep with all the stuff on the moon and Eris, then a bunch of more seasons including Vex stuff and uh Rasputin shit and so on
Then came Beyond Light on Europa and the first season after that, season of the hunt is where Crow officially entered the picture
Osiris got possessed basically at that time aswell tho
During the opening of Season of the Hunt we are sent to the moon because Sagira (Osiris' ghost) got slain and we had to look for him, we find Osiris who by then was already possessed but we didnt know and Crow arrives aswell
After we free Osiris and then late wake him from his coma we spend one season (season of the seraph) helping Rasputin with some shit and right after that Lightfall kicks off which has Osiris travel to Neptune followed by us, Root of Nightmares started shortly after that expansion story concluded
Osiris was woke from his coma at the end of Season of Plunder. Season of the Seraph happened in between, and then in Lightfall we started to encounter Nezarec, haunting the CloudArk. Then we go to the Pyramid above Earth and find Nezarecâs body rebuilding, and eventually we fight him
He was mentioned various times before that
Nezarec's body rebuilding? Did we kill nezarec?
Theres literally an exotic armor piece with his name
Savathun did
Back during the collapse
The end of the golden age of humanity, when the Witness' forces first came to our solar system to grab the Traveler
Horrific event, shit ton of people died but the Traveler made its "sacrifice" as its called which birthed the ghosts
Why is it called sacrifice?
Nezarec's Sin exotic warlock helmet
Well for untold eons whenever the Darkness caught up to the Traveler it would just ditch the fuck outta there to the next planet
Its what happened to the Eliksni
In which event did we get the info that savathun killed nezarec?
I'm curious
Which season or campaign?
Traveler was there, everything was great, Witness forces showed up, Traveler got the hell out of there
uuuuuuuuuh
Some random ass lorebook prob
@trim grotto I call upon you
It was the inspiral lore book from RoN i believe
Damn really that late?
But this time the traveller chose not to run away instead birth the ghosts?
Correct
It believed in us and made guardians as a way to protect itself.
Though at the start guardians were instead called warlords and as we tried to rebuild there was a lot of fighting known as the dark ages
Btw Varo incase you want a condensed (but still very long) timelne of the Events from the earliest point in destiny history to today
It was sorta shown in the final shape cutscene
Hangon
Vision from the Traveler scene when the guardian enters the Pale Heart in Destiny 2 The Final Shape.
#destiny2 #thefinalshape #bungie
travel vision scene, vision from traveler, witness corrupting traveler, guardian prismatic scene, vision prismatic, astronaut prismatic cutscene, destiny 2 the final shape, destiny 2 cutscene, the final shape cu...
At 0:22 roughly
This could very well just be an artistic interpretation but thats all we got
Yeah
Like the story is traveller birth the ghosts at the very beginning
But yeah in regards to this
The final shape gave a lot of answers on the traveler as a whole.
While we get the video of that when TFS drop
Ishtar got a bigass timeline that gives a rough overview of basically everything
A lot lot of things about the Traveler and such are a mystery even to this day
The final shape we learned its thoughts, how the witness tortured it and how it was calling out to us.
That whale call sound is the traveler crying out.
Is this in timeline order from old to latest?
Yes
Ohh
It starts at the earliest point we know in destiny history
And goes on to the most recent aka this episode
Oh you hear a whale in that? I hear a raspy inhale
Like breathing in after being underwater or something
Yeah i hear something like a whales call. Except for that one bit in the campaign where it let out that scream.
Interesting
I kinda want us to able to talk to traveller
God that was quite an unsettling noise when I heard it
We indirectly talk to the traveler via our dreams kinda? Its odd
Wait what?
The traveller speaks through visions
Really? Where?
The vision of a white hawk is the traveler reaching out. If you see it, it means that the traveler is pointing you somewhere
The bird vision?
This cinematic presents a mysterious vision that will steer the Guardian's onward journey.
Part 6 - "The Red War: Adieu (edit)" can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgGNVHE1dOM&list=PLcwf9K9cOdz7m1ASW2RQ3Ze3b7h6W-HX4&index=6
With Destiny 2 Year One campaigns being 'vaulted' for the foreseeable future, this series seeks to primari...
This here
Ohh
Theyre usually very cryptic and shit but it is real
Everytime the white hawk appears it's the traveler
That's the form it seems to take in visions
Ergo sum
You sure? I thought it was the funny heavy trace
No that's for the big bang
Ergo sum details it's thoughts on things like being sealed during the red war
It was microcosm
Must be both then I guess because ergo sum definitely has some more thoughts from the traveler.
I didnt read Ergo sum yet gotta be honest
But Microcosm is basically the travelers thoughts as it teraforms mars
And ends when the first humans lay eyes on it right as the rain starts falling from that very first cutscene
Def give it a read. A bit cryptic but if you know the events of destiny you should be able to recognise what's been talked about
Its traveler shit, stuffs always cryptic as hell
True
Wait
uhuh

But whether they tell one continous story or a bunch of small stories depends on the lorebook in question
I thought a book was one page of scroll
Ghost Stories or Stolen Intel for example are just a collection of one page stories/reports
Something like Most Loyal (my beloved) is one story throughout various chapters
Is there a video on YouTube that summarizes each season with the visuals too?
Probably
No
What people do is compile all the missions and radio/helm conversations
Look up the destiny 2 archive on YouTube. Bungie I believe 2 years ago now starting putting out videos recapping older seasons
Theyâre never longer than an hour
Awww man
Ergo sum literally details everything from being discovered by precursors to giving you the sword
Witness sent nezzy at us with the veil
We get told from Savathunâs worm that a certain âtrickâ from the witch queen is the reason humanity and the traveler survived the collapse
Then in RoN Nezarec literally says a certain witch killed him and hid away the veil
Made it look like traveler killed itself rather than getting connected with veil
so the witness went "okay what the fuck?!" and reconsidered its choice for the end of the collapse to the end of red war
and because witness sensed the light wave that erupted when the traveler broke free, it went "so, it wasn't dead!"
I feel like the witness wouldnât have just done nothing for an ungodly amount of centuries if it truly believed the traveler died
The closest thing we have for confirmation is Unveiling describing the creation of ghosts as a final argument, and the âwinnowerâ wanting to prove it wrong
and the hive on moon too
Hive on the moon arrived before the traveler did, they werenât there for it
But considering that the hive was literally enslaved to witness, they could tell the witness that traveler is actually alive
They werenât directly linked to the witness until the black fleet became active again
That makes sense
Itâs debatable whether or not the âDeepâ Oryx communes to was even the witness
Hive were subservient to their own gods and religion first and foremost
And the traveler was âdeadâ to literally everyone until the end of red war, it wouldnât have made a difference
Since the darkness doesn't give a shit but likes to bestow powers and watch its effect on universe, so it might be winnower itself
Not dead. Asleep. The witness needed the traveler conscious and active to enact the final shape so when it was told by savathun that it had been the equivalent of knocked out it just waited on the edge of the galaxy until it awoke again.
It's purpose isn't to "kill" the traveler but to defeat it. It still needs the light from it. Not to extinguish it.
Whos is the vespers host and does he have a connection with vesper of radius?
No
Vespers host isn't a person
Vesper is the name of the station and ai on the station and the "host" is the fallen colony that has been corrupted
The station hosts this colony of corrupted fallen while they worship the anomaly and try to communicate through it.
For some unknown purpose
Vesper is also like, a word, hence why a exotic is also called vesper despite having zero correlation
Atraks discussion??
Personally, Iâm gonna believe warrior vex do exist because it makes the vex sound cooler
I think itâs cooler that they simply donât and remain as they do
Vex are just completely removed from our understanding of culture and community
They donât see what they do as war or combat and have literally no need for it
Possibly terrifying possibility is that vex have no combat units because they don't need any
And like? If warriors hex DID exist
Why would they never make an appearance at all so far
They cannot adapt to make warriors because they've never had to adapt that way
Everything weâve done with vex in the past few years wouldâve been the perfect scenario for them to deploy their âbest combat unitsâ
And no, wyverns arenât combat units
Walking, sentient drills
Probably
Their weapons are derived from thermal lances to further the tool referencing, and all wyvern bosses are in the same general management position that hydras and Minotaurs are in
Like the Override and Spire bosses
The vex bourgeoisie
True
I guess I just liked the idea that we havenât seen anything close to their strongest forces
I find it interesting that varikâs accent is just an act
It feels more than that
That was at midnight, friend

Day 21 of asking fun facts lore
Before Glint found and resurrected Crow, he was known by the Guardians as Pulled Pork. For... some reason.
Think it was the pink shell.
Now that I think of it, it would make sense that vex don't really have units specifically designed for combat, they mostly just turn other things into vex anyway and this would need more in terms of terraforming and such
Units specialized for combat would be a waste of resources in that case. Probably
Not like non-paracausal entities stand a chance against them anyway
Arenât harpies combat-designed?
What, with the shield wings and powerful weapons?
What other purpose do they serve?
is it? so glint was guardianless before?
Well, yeah. Every Ghost is Guardianless until they actually find their chosen.
I assume you mean Wyverns.
We have absolutely 0 lore on Wyverns.
"weapons" isn't really the term. Vex gear has often been described as more like worker tools. A goblins slap rifle is more like a tig welder or key than a weapon. And who's to say they don't see their explosive ordnance as just means to break down resources
Vex don't have weapons in the traditional sense. Everything is a tool.
Wyverns are the closest we have seen to combat vex but we have no confirmation that's actually what they're for.
Wha- thatâs crazy actually
Weird considering how long they've been in the game now
what about hydras
Hydras seem to be the equivalent to "bosses" with shields just being for protection. Like I could imagine having a hydra come on and start firing on a site to break down a planet
Like an excavator
hmm i se
see
do things like atheon have a category name or are they just a type of minotaur
No vex really has a category. Frames are built for specific tasks but they do have base blueprints so they'll take on a familiar shape depending on what they're needed for.
So yeah Atheon could just be a minotaur or something like the Templar is a hydra. It's all about what's the most efficient
i see so all âtypesâ of vex are tools apart from some that are guardians of sorts
The only anomaly among the vex we've see is panoptes who has a completely different look and is built for seeding planets
Kinda. Again it's all about what's the most efficient to them and some are just there to defend sites of interest.
Like fencing off a construction site
It's all they know. Turn everything into vex.
No emotion behind it or malice towards any other living species
interesting i just thought they were killer bots
Vex don't attack us because they hate us or anything it's more like trying to get rid of a weed. They aren't capable of that sort of thought. They just see something that's not supposed to be there and they want to remove it
Guardians and paracausal forces are a threat to their future so they seek to find anything that can remove it. Not out of hatred but just because it's not part of what they envision
Yeah oops
Would there ever be a witch queen part 2 or something like that where something happens with savathun?
Yeah itâs called Season of the Witch lmao
I mean season of the witch was to bring her back to life no?
Yeah that was the part two
WQ ended with Immaru escaping and us going âwell we have to deal with the witnessâ
Season of the Witch is us being forced to cooperate with Immaru to resurrect Savathun since she knows how to deal with the witness
And then Final Shapeâs post-campaign deals a lot with SavathĂťn too
So where is she now?
Living life
Hiding in her throne world
Hoping Saint doesnât come up with another excuse to go and kill her
I swear its always the same ten guys in here. Lore discussion must be the least visited part of this discord group
i mean, lore isnt typically something you need to constantly ask for help in game or have discussions about certain things that have happened in the game
whats the origin of still hunt? why does it have cayde's retribution?
Cayde made it
It seems to be based somewhat on the design of Eyasluna, which is the basis of Marksman Goldie, it shares the barrel and some other elements from Eyas and/or Hawkmoon
Also yeah it's not super trafficked but this deep into an Act where we got everything in Week 1, there's just not much to discuss
oh..
made it in the pale heart or before â ď¸
Pale Heart, presumably
I think Zavala mainly used Origin Story (or some other legendary Vanguard auto rifle)
Crow uses Hawkmoon
i saw zavala use a handcannon in the pale heart flashback things
the one where he was gonna shoot targe
that was centuries ago tho
damn it was that long?
Guardians are immortal
true but i didnt expect that to be centuries old
What's the story behind a veiled statue in GoS?
the Witness tends to use the Veiled statues as a means to grant power to those who it wants to seduce
not that kind of seduce
But who would want it in the GoS?
The minotaur boss?
Sanctified mind?
it was left there a long time ago by the Witness
I think it may have been how the Witness first made contact with the Sol Divisive
or how it left the Black Heart in the Black Garden
but it may also have been what it used to give the Kentarch 3 Darkness powers
since it seems like they took the same route we did in GoS
only difference is that there were some threats they did not encounter
while they had to deal with tethers and angelics, there were no mention of the Sol Inherent
the Veiled statues may not even be Dissenters outside of the Pale Heart
or maybe they are, they are just completely powerless
Apollo
idk
after Heresy
but Apollo will likely have little to do with TFS
since it is a new saga
whats the new saga gonna be?
and why is it called apollo?

Collectively the next part of Destiny is called Frontiers. Thatâs split into the two expansions next year, Apollo and then Behemoth
We have yet to see that. And also something to note is destiny wasn't called the light and darkness saga until witch queen. So no clue what this new saga might be called or what it'll entail. Vespers host and heresy are supposed to be our first look at the future but things probably won't be clear until Apollo arrives.
os there any exotic that has to do with firefighting
or any lore with firefighting
or putting out fires
Unfortunately no.
anything to do with extinguishing or fighting solar guardians atleast?
No as well unfortunately.

its i think either 2 possibilities

how dangerous are vex units in lore?
they can telefrag you
what does that mean?
Teleport into you and kill you
Like tf2
It also technically isnât teleportation, they just exit the natural state of time
Vex memes are also infectious
Very. Osiris had spent centuries citing them as our most dangerous enemy, and now that the Witness is gone, he has returned to doing so.
teleport inside your body or just right in fron tof you and hit you?
being captured by them is worse than being captured by the Hive
and the Hive don't even take prisoners normally so you know that if they want you alive you won't want to be
Inside
Your body just explodes from the inside because they replace the space youâre in
when did that happen?
The Vex are infinite, methodical. They are as a glacier, slowly crushing everything in their path.
They will kill you or painfully convert you. Your consciousness simulated and copied and subjected to every experience. Every planet, every being, converted into Vex.
Their goal for all to be Vex. All to be known. All to be simulated.
The Convergence. Their own Final Shape.
and Vex teleport by rewriting history
what vex unit did it?
and they will do anything to you in any way to figure out how you work and think
Itâs just normal physics reacting to their antics
Itâs not a unique power
Any vex âteleportsâ like that
a goblin just decided to teleport inside of a dreg and caused it to explode its body out?
[Message Link](#đlore-discussion message) to #đlore-discussion
The Vex are, so far, simply curious. But Vex curiosity always leads to Vex transformation [...]
The Vex will not rest until every star has been crushed into a black hole and every newborn cosmos filled with more Vex. And in the unending array of their enslaved cosmos, they will simulate all possible pasts, and fill those with Vex, so that all things that have ever lived or might ever live will experience infestation and consumption and torment by the silica nightmare.
And in those devoured simulations, the simulated Vex will use our flesh as hosts for yet more nested universes full of yet more nested copies of us eternally tormented by yet more Vex.
An infinite regression of pain and madness inflicted upon every possible version of us in every possible world. Not because they hate us, or fear us, or want to punish us. But because they are indifferent and curious, and they will do every possible thing to us in every possible way.```
yes
Look at Asher Mir. Slowly undergoing a painful, incurable transformation. Flesh to metal, blood to radiolarian fluid.
They have no concept of mercy or empathy.
or fear
Life means nothing to them because they may simply simulate it.
Sort of. That tomb of respect was discarded into a data vault of trash data in some Nessus archive once Saint-14 returned to life via the Sundial, for it was no longer our history.
makes sense
and now theres a vex collective with more individual intelligence and more tactics
the nessian schism
even though they can't fight paracasual things well, do they still fight off the Hive pretty well?
There's a whole bit in the Books of Sorrow about how Crota failed to handle the Vex within Oryx's own Throne World. Oryx himself had to return and banish them.
yeah
i guess its objective to say the vex will definitely give the hive alot of trouble
Perhaps not the Ascendant, but most of them, yes.
yeah
and the taken as well
are taken units able to infect others or does a king or queen have to do that?
Taken themselves can spread blight, but without a strong, central leader, Vex could overcome their influence
I see
do we know anything at all for how powerful vex weaponry is?
their exotic matter
we see that they con go right through people like Ikora
For some reason the coloring and theming of that cutscene made it seem like that hydra used a slap rifle against Ikora instead of a aeon maul
Aeon Maul/ Torch hammers are explosive
yeah i remember those hydras in the strike Glassway
and purple
indeed
yeah its just that the cutscene made it look red to me
im not saying it isnt aeon maul
I'm pretty sure it was either slap or line rifle
were the side guns shown?
looking at it now it has the sounds of an Aeon Maul
yep its an Aeon Maul
so the fact that it went straight through a guardian without exploding goes to show how powerful it is
or at least how hot
they cant predict a grenade right into their face tho đż
average vex hobgoblin seeing me miss my golden gun shot and hitting him instead
Vex can't simulate paracausality
I mean the point is that thereâs no way to predict if or when a guardian is going to fling a miniature sun
Or start making black holes or summon flaming hammers.
what does paracausal even mean?
How did fynch manage to survive but his guardian is dead?
Fynch is the one who killed him.
Parallel causality. A system of logic that is parallel to physics.
what
How?
Why?
I'm at the start of witch queen campaign
Iirc stuck one of his horns in him
Itâs not important to the plot at all
Will fynch tell us why later?
He never mentions it anywhere ingame
Wtf
The loretab âLucent Tales: Fynch IIâ is the only place itâs mentioned
Because it doesnât really matter
Itâs not important
Heâs far from the first ghost with a confirmed kill anyway
Because his Chosen - not a Guardian, only those affliated with the Last City are Guardians - was a horrible monster and Fynch feels awful for bringing him to life.
To clarify further, think of it this way:
Cause, logical physics, effect - Causal. This is how we live our day to day lives.
Cause, unknown connection, effect - paracausal. As an example, the fact that we can command a Solar flame is consistent, and not necessarily illogical, but it clearly isn't physics.
Effect, no cause - Acausal
ohhhh
is there a limit on how many ghosts the traveller can make? can the whole system have ghosts?
The Traveler has not made Ghosts since the singular event at the end of the Collapse.
It was a one time thing.
Correct. I mean, hey, ours only found us ten years ago.
And look at Crow: He was only resurrected, what... six years ago or so.
Humanity (and Exo and Awoken) were the only Lightbearers to ever exist until the Hive a few years ago.
whatd the eliksni even do with the light
Well, to repeat myself, they didn't have Ghosts. So their access to actual Light was very limited.
well yeah i know
thats why i asked
like what did the traveler even do for them
besides hover above their planet
The Traveler did for them what it did for us. It terraformed their worlds.
lowkey forgot about that part
did something happen between d1 closing and d2 opening?
Not a lot, no. Just some simple patrol runs. Run of the mill stuff.
our vault got nuked
Caused by The Red War, which was the opening of D2
how the og tower looks like nowaday
You used to be able to see it from the current Tower, before the parked the HELM on the wall nearby. One moment.
i miss it
is there any dreadnought mentions in the game
We're probably heading there next Episode. It has been drifting, dead and slowly collapsing, since Oryx died.
can't wait
At best it might be a temporary patrol space like the Haunted Leviathan, but it's possible we may only see it as the setting of seasonal activities
is vex milk edible
No.
Chemically, the Vex milk is an alkaline solution of dense salts in water. The salts range from sodium and calcium to lead and even (in barely detectable amounts) plutonium. Not good to drink.
Furthermore, it will forcibly begin to convert the flesh of your body into Vex.

where its from
best destiny dialogue
Classic Clovis Bray.
So since an Aeon Maul can go straight through a person without exploding on contact, does that speak highly of it's temperature?
If it is anything akin to a Torch Hammer, it is Firing projectiles of strange matter, the Hammer mauls targets with exotic particle decay and deadly radiation.
watching the cutscene, the projectiles it was shooting were not exploding on impact at all
though you did say the sound effects were akin to Aeon Maul
maybe a different firing mode?
or most likely an oversight
and the side gun models
bungie did it before in the Red War campaign cutscene where the guardians and the farm take back the city
its where the centurion fires it's bronto cannon at them but they dont explode
so perhaps thats just how bungie does cutscenes to save on special effects or to not make cutscenes too chaotic
because an aeon maul would just be constant explosions
im guessing particle decay isnt impressive?
wait nvm
so upon impact, the torch hammer splits your subatomic particles into multiple particles
so I'd imagine this would be good against armor or something
It'd be good against anything because that's a breakdown of atoms.
That's what radiation is
Atoms being broken down and them releasing dangerous energy
It just matters how quickly it breaks down things and I'm guessing based on the description that it does it pretty quick since it mauls targets on impact.
Day 23 of asking fun facts lore
Häkke was originally a Golden Age company. Turns out, they produced Graviton Lance.
Hmm deja Vu I guess
You've heard that one?
Crow says falling is the worst way for a guardian to die. Time to think on the way down.
Another fun fact.
Felwinter challenged Lord Shaxx to a duel. Felwinter drew a dawnblade and shaxx broke it with his bare hands before backhanding felwinter so hard his head left his shoulders
whos felwinter
The first guardians who protected humanity during the dark ages under a single banner.
When ghosts first began bringing people back some used their light to enslave people and small settlements and were known as warlords. The iron lords came together and vowed to protect humanity from them.
Yes
Just as humanity was trying to rebuild itself
Yes. He and lady efrideet are the only iron lords left now. The rest died to the expedition to secure Siva from Rasputin.
is rasputin evil?
No. But he will protect himself from intruders. He guarded humanity on his own terms and refused to be treated like a weapon that could be used.
Rasputin isn't with us anymore though as he sacrificed himself to stop Eramis using the warsats to attack the traveler
oh
Might want to watch this playlist
The Hive God of War moves to seize control Rasputinâs network of weaponized satellites. In her hands, she would turn its devastating power on the Last City. To stop her, the Vanguard has authorized special covert operations armed with the Warmindâs most advanced weaponry. Agents conducting these operations are known as Seraphs.
00:00 - Last ...
Do the vex have to study and take time to simulate and predict opponents, or do they do that instantly on the battlefield against non paracasual opponents
