So is it possible that the whole Ahmkara extinction is limited to our solar system? That is if they really come from outside the sol system
Granted the advancements could be provided by some of the worst people. See Clovis Bray
I don't know much about clovis bray, but was she the one who made exo?
Or was it the ishtar initiative?
He is the creator of the exo
He.
Also made Rasputin, warsats, etc
Europa was his private colony where he did it to keep prying eyes away
Since everything he did was objectively evil and anyone with any amount of morals who found out would be sickened
Idk why but I always imagine Clovis like the woman scientist of halo that basically created master chief
She was also a bastard
Before his son was born, he meticulously went and altered his genetics to remove all the genes that heād inherit from his mother
Kidnapped children to dope them
Is it confirmed or a fan theory?
He then called the obvious life complications due to it a ārare diseaseā
literally just true
Have you played beyond light?
Hard confirmed
I do, but tbh I was giving less attention to the whole clovis story
How do you forget about the giant robot head
I was more curious about the fact that it was finally possible to see where exo were made
I think that one is one of the mission I didn't play yet
Not sure tho
People forget the most obvious things, or don't play the whole content and act like they seen everything
Or simply they didn't play all of it and didn't act like I knew everything
Had that happen in this very channel before lol
Fair enou
Not you Luctor
Anyway, so from that head we see a resemblance to Banshee, that's what you mean?
Was talking references in the ghost hunts or questioning why we haven't crushed Immaru
That would also explain the amount of resets. It is normal if he is the oldest exo
The process of uploading a mind to an exo body results in the loss of memory
Who is immanuel? I guess not the guardian rogue
Actually
Those resets were the number of times he got killed getting off Europa
Actually heās one of the youngest Exos
Because Clovis knew this as the creator of exos and also just like his massive narcissism, he made a contingency
Hmmm.. but then is there like a database with clovis' mind?
As his mind was being uploaded to his exo body, it would also be copied and become the mainframe for a massive managerial ai
Yep
That's the giant exo head. Personality to match
It would act as Clovis in his stead before he properly adjusted to his exo self and got back to business
Managerial AI?
Ok
really itās just a big computer in an exo-looking shell
So.. we have 2 clovis? But the "original" is the banshee?
Like cave johnson
the ai is a copy
not the original
Yep, that's why I said banshee
Banshee is the actual man himself
Or what's left of him.
I really need to check all seasons' story
Cause beside Exo stranger, how tf we got back Saint?
All those reformats and a willing memory loss-name change did a number on Banshee
There are like a lots of old/historical characters coming back
Oh.
That was all us using vex tech to go back in time
Was an event that made Saint idolize us
Osiris made a machine powered by darkness to try and save Saint from his fate in the infinite forest
We find him, but at the wrong time in the past, which starts his whole paradox situation
Okay, but.. we were able to go back to our original timeline? Did Exo stranger never mention about helping her timeline ?
I thought that she didn't ask cause she can only go to the past
Also a demonstration of how dumb Osrisis actually is because he couldn't connect the dots even with Saints idol standing right in front of him.
Theyāre not concurrent timelines
We are all from the same timeline
The loop Elsie is in just resets everything
back to a fixed point
Which loop?
Elsieās loop
Her deathloop
Sheās not using a Time Machine to go back in time
She's the Exo Stranger
Sheās in a Groundhog Day situation
She died in her timeline?
But didn't she come from the future?
Something makes Elsie revert back in time every time she dies
Have you really never heard of Groundhog Day?
The future for her, present for us
Oh
Everything gets set back to a set point in time, Elsie herself included
Weāre further past where Elsie ever got to now iirc
Wait what?
She just retains the memories of these loops
Fr?
She dies , goes back to a fixed point, tries to avoid what caused our loss
I believe so
It would always end before or just as Beyond Light starts
We averted the main point she dies with the Witness death.
Either due to some disaster or the point where guardians get access to stasis
So it's all unknown now
Wdym
the main point was just guardians succumbing to darkness in general
Yea she doesn't know what next now
Itās been āunknownā since BL
That was the turning point
That was when the dark future happened for her
Ana becomes evil was a big part of our loss to evil isnāt it she avoids that by caring for her
Guardians got access to stasis without any guidance and all hell broke loose
this time around Elsie did a lot of specific things to avert it
I mean, I didn't think much about when she came from, but I always thought that at one point she was going to ask for us for her help in her timeline. That sucks
There's some implications that we avert some events she saw before.
Like the "Bombardment" probably being the events portrayed in Seraph
Mainly setting us up to be a big hero rather than some random new light who didnāt do anything
Sheās the one who told us to go to the black garden to kill the heart, which was never done
We helped Ana explore her past with companions
We helped Eris overcome the trauma of her lost fireteam
I was hoping to have like an interaction with our corrupted guardian in her loop
We killed a lot of guys, etc etc
youāre missing the point
Hm?
the loop is closed off
Yep
Sheās not being picked up and brought somewhere else
Itās the same timeline every time
She just has the chance to change how it goes
you seriously have never heard of Groundhog Day?
Well we donāt actually know if itās her death specifically
For all we know she just died and then canāt experience anything until the actual criteria gets met again and sheās sent back
Not much
Yeah
Evidence points to it though
It's basically ur re living the same shit ever day
I saw edge of tomorrow
I kinda donāt think the existence of the universe is hinging on her existence though
Sheās just the person responsible for overlooking it
There's a entry where she manages to convince Ikora to deal with Eris early.. in Elsies own words
"We are all dead in a week."
Like if Elsie just gets shot I donāt think we automatically lose centuries off of it
Lol
The big point is Elsie herself doesn't know what's causing it
So basically she also interacted with us and said "no time to explain" cause she had tons to things to deal with to not fuck things up?
Imagine you wake up, walk down the street, get hit by a car, you wake up again, you realise the same car is coming down the street, so you stop, thatās Elsieās entire life so far, constantly reaching a point of loss, and trying to avoid that in the next loop
^^
Any idea of the amount of times it happened?
In Groundhog Day?
Dozens at least
Hard to know how many times
Iām not sure in the specifics, but I assume itās mentioned vaguely, there are an array of specifics she wanted to avoid thatās been listed earlier, such as guardians falling to dark with the stasis, ana being corrupted to evil, etc
Not as many as bill murray had probably
Summary. Phil relives the same day approximately 12,400 times in Groundhog Day, equating to almost 34 years. Groundhog Day director Harold Ramis initially believed Phil was trapped for 10 years, but later went back on his stance.
now, actual time spent experiencing the loops? Elsie clears easily
But times sheās been looped, probably not
The actual cause for Elsies deathloop is still unexplained
it revolves around things going to shit and the traveler blowing up
Yep
Even she doesn't know exactly, but it happens
?
real
Feel like I saw a teacher at the grocery store
It me!
is it you tho? the name colour looks different
Is that not just what my name colour looks like on the Cryptarchy?
i think theres an imposter eris

When impsoster is sous
yes yes something like that idk
If the witnessā hold prevented people from entering the traveler until the raid team broke it, how did the raid team get inside?
Same way we got in probably
I thought only The Guardian went in along with Zavala and Ikora
The portal was open by the end of the campaign and our allies were able to move freely through it
yeah i was about to say
The raid was about preventing the Final Shape and allowing the Traveler to empower us again
mara brought the helm in during the last mission
But why was the cutscene saying the raid team broke the witnessā hold on the traveler to let everyone in?
It didnāt say that
It says the fireteam shattered the Witnessā hold on the Travelerās Light. That part is true. Nothing to do with letting people in
It was about stopping it from using the Light to enact the Final Shape
And also making it so the Traveler could gift us again with those swords of Light to unmake the Witness for good
I thought itās hold was preventing people from using the portal
No
As was pointed out, our allies entered the portal before that, and we spent days going in and out freely preparing for the Final Shape
Mara did
Before she was fighting against the Witness but I assume as the Witness drew nearer to the Final Shape it couldnāt concentrate on fighting the portal and reshaping all of reality
Fair enough
RM: "Into the final turn! Marcus Ren leading by four lengths!"
HB: "That's four less than the last time he won 15 in a row. Think he has the flu?"
RM: "It doesn't look like he has anything but victory on his mind! One quick turn back to check behind him and⦠uh, that'sā¦"
HB: "Did he drop his lucky coin?"
RM: "Ren looking down at the track and WHOA! What was that?!"
Who are RM and HB?
Linking the tab may be of help
Marcus Ren's record is unassailable. It would take decades for anyone to catch him.
ā

RM: "It doesn't look like he has anything but victory on his mind! One quick turn back to check behind him and⦠uh...
this fight was quite something
But I guess in scheme of things
Savathun did try to save traveler
maybe thats why it chose her
Well
OH SHIT Mara wants to join with the worm š®
What? Where is this from?
Yeah Witch Queen ending!
Traveller chose her because she died probably , like a sacrifice sort of let me think about this so I can be more clear
Think about what the speaker said to gary
The Traveler allowed Savathƻn to be resurrected but her resurrection was actually planned between her and Immaru
They knew each other beforehand
i havent played since witch, is there a video i could watch to catch up or something to just quickly catch me up?

I dunno about videos myself but Dova made these summaries
oh amazing, thank you
Remember when dova started these he completely skipped over taken king
That was pretty funny
How long were these up again?
By the way what is it savathun wants ?
Her own security above all else
She did not genuinely care for the traveler out of good will and it didnāt reward her in any sort of way
Youād have to be more specific
I mean I personally know about strand ,stasis and whatever the darkness forces use , then there is also Egremore? Idk what's that but it's something to do with darkness
Itās kinda like the darkness version of trees of silver wings
itās a type of fungus that forms when thereās corruptive darkness in an area that has the right properties, essentially
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8QkXPllF20UGHM why didnt I have this in my run today?
Veteran dialogue tied to what campaigns your character has completed
Oryx and the taken would be taken king
Sagira Osiris would be season of Hunt/Lost
Crota would be dark below
I WANTED TO SAY WHEN HE POSTED THEM SO BAD BUT I WAS WORRIED IF HE DID OR DIDNT WORK ON IT BECAUSE THEY WERE EDITED
Also Dova you still havenāt put the Taken King stuff
One of the new lucent hive lines in gambit implies the drifter ate a ghost. I'll leave you with that info

Straight from the lore vault itself
Thatās wild
Knowing the drifter it's a 50/50
But then that kinda implies heās crushed a regular ghost too
I mean yeah
Dark ages sucked for everybody
Crushing a ghost was basically commendable back then
Thatās fair
You know drifterās ghost has a body count

True, and while I do think it'd be hilarious if he did, he's probably referring to crushing
Explain
How many assists are just him letting the drifter starve?
ā
"For the breadth of my formative years, I had one goal: find myāwell, we all have our own word for themāmy chosen. And every moment thereafter was dedicated to keeping him alive, whether he liked it or not. They were turbulent times, before the Last City. Before humanity found hope for the future. I was prepared to kill for it. Die for it." āA...
The body of an armored man lay sprawled over the smoldering open-air cockpit, his helmet punctured by a small hole about the size of... the drone.
Flung itself as a projectile and literally brained a guy
As for ours, he commandeered a tank and shot scorn with it during forsaken
And also in excision if we count that.
Also off topic question, did clarity control stop the exos from becoming just machines or was it the radiolarium?
True.
by 'becoming just machines' do you mean 'succumbing to DER' or
Clarity changed Radiolarian Fluid into Alkahest, which stabilised the Exominds and stopped them from succumbing to billboarding, a form of braindeath.
because that is like, a very generous way of putting it š
No so basically before clarity exos they had uploaded soon began falling into patterns like how machines did, byf described as how if A is equal to B it will eventually go back to A, so that's why Clarity was needed to stop B from becoming A
Ah okay, TFS has me questioning every statue now lol.
The statues enacted the will of the Witness until it was preoccupied with the Traveler. I wouldn't question it too much.
That's fine with me, I thought that ones outside the traveler were just speakers for the witness to control others.
I'm about to start the 3rd grimore which I believe has the DSC and exo stuff.
Right but it is located in Kazakhstan, and in the game it is in Russia
the statues specifically stated that they were bound to the Witness and were powerless to stand against it
they probably couldn't have really done anything no matter how much they wanted to
America merged with Canada and Mexico to become the North American Empire, borders of countries are vague and different than as they are currently
anyone know who "the call" is about and who is on the sides of the pistol
Exactly
@dim minnow taken king summary for the D1 rundown
The lore is about Osiris and Saint-14. The figure depicted? Pretty sure it's just A Warlockā¢ļø.
The Great Disaster - the first Vault of Glass fireteam - The fall of Dredgen Yor - The showdown at Dwindler's Ridge
What happened in what order? Yor killed Pahanin, which means the showdown happened after VoG, but did the Great Disaster happen before or after the Yor-Malphur saga?
Who was Hunter Vanguard at the start and end of each of these events? Caliban? Aparajita? Kauko? Andal Brask?
Roughly many years ago were these events?
Oryx has arrived seeking an answer for the death of his son. Looking to halt his advance, the Awoken Queen brought her fleet to intercept Oryx's within the rings of Saturn only to be obliterated. With the precious time Mara Sov bought us, we managed to infiltrate the Taken King's ship and disable its superweapon, the same one used to leave the Awoken armada in ruin. Then we would delve even deeper into the dark by gaining the means to step into Oryx's domain where we challenged him. While we were victorious, he turned his own power unto himself in order to escape. While we prepared to face him for the last time, we took to dismantling the remainder of his court one-by-one until the time came where we dethroned the king. His throne was laid bare before us ready to be claimed, but we refused thus disproving the Sword Logic once again.

what does hive worm taste like
has anyone actually eaten a hive worm before
drifter the type of person to do that
Honestly I don't know if he has
Either he or Eris would know though
has anyone actually tried any of the other races?
like i wonder if a guardian has killed a cabal and tried it
It's pretty much just Drifter doing this stuff

i remember that, there was one with caiatl too and failsafe
pretty much talking about how theyāre the same when it comes to being nice to people
what artist is the pyramid inside imagery based off of? i know the rhulk pyramid environmental art where you see worms segmented in slices of material is literally just the destiny version of one of this artist's sculptures but im not sure who they were
Is there a list of literally every character ever
Example: Nameless Risen with the red Ghost in The Black Armory Papers: Entry 108, 109, 110 who killed Yuki Satou
Other than Endermahe's timeline (possibly missing some but it's the most thorough compilation I've seen)
Wtf are Osiris' cubes
When did armor for each class start having identical lore?
Ex: Great Hunt class items are about Young Wolf's wish for the bond, Eris's wish for the cloak, and Mara and Shaxx for the mark, but the class items for this season have identical lore about Failsafe's interest in fishing
it was some time ago
Bungie don't really do separate armor set lore unless it's for certain sets
like raid armor
although, the Salvation's Edge armor only has lore in the class items and they are all the same
I have a list of every named character. Does that help?
Yeah š
huh, so that's what the Cryptarchy looks like
You go over there yet?
no I haven't joined it
if you're going to post something stupid like that, at least be original
I already saw that on r/dcj a while ago

Is song of flame the same thing as radiance from d1?
it's function seems pretty different
If not is song just an evolution?
maybe?
Also lore wise guardians were able to self rez?
Or was that just a in game mechanic
For fun*
Radiance is a special type of self-rez
but in terms of respawning, yeah
so long as you had a Ghost or weren't in a Darkness zone
Hm
So lore wise can we as the guardian still use all the stuff we did in d1?
Ie: blade dancer, etc
maybe, I think I saw an entry of someone using Radiance in D2
ok, so there was a Warlock from the Firefright lore tab who used Radiance
it even specifies that they are a Sunsinger
No itād be broken in the current sandbox for D2
Which I think was a complaint from D2 which led to its exclusion from D2
Aww dang it
Bladedancer's Super (Kinda) and Ward of Dawn are already in the game anyways
Gimme a sec
WHOOPDEYDOO
Nvm I canāt find shit
@trim grotto here your challenge for the day
Explain the cubes
Oooheeheehoo
Osiris wrote his Lost Prophecies on these six-sided tablets, and hid within them a secret for the Guardian whose deeds he foresaw.
He's a goblin and likes being a braggart
Also he used them to access the Infinite Forest pathways
There
Nah the cubes are obviously just an advanced fidget toy for Osirisā ADHD
Ofc
As to why he had to write the prophecies in iambic couplets? Simple: vanity.
Theyāre actually DnD cubes
do you mean
a die
dem fancy number cubes
We got the shapes from the nine on there
Think we did something rude, (I forgot what, what did you just do to get this line?)
That or uhhh, fallen being fallen
I listened to the messages from failsafe in the helm
so uh, might be a bit of an elementary question, but is there any reason as to why specific individuals are chosen by the traveler to become guardians?
like is there a certain worthiness you attain in your first life that the traveler recognizes?
Nope, no idea, itās just been anyone the ghosts feel tied to
And even then, the ghost can leave said person (like in ghost stories)
haha sorry i'm not free to chat on voice right now
Oh I meant for the question!
There is the Guardian ethos, but other than that, we don't have a hard set of rules. The ethos is more of a guideline than rules anyway.
aaah
no clue! i haven't caught up to that yet, haha
Sharks
devotion, bravery, sacrifice, death
would it be wrong to assume that those chosen by the traveler displayed those attributes in their first lives?
Yes, because Shin Malphur exists.
Also... let me check something
I know what that means: āFive is not enough. Everyone here is going to die.ā
I could run. Same fantasy I've been nursing for years: rappel down from the eastern tallwalk, make for the coast. Conar says that tunnel I can see from the tallwalkāit's full of Fallen. Open spaces like the road are safer. With this information I could probably make it ten whole kilometers from the village before I'm killed.
That's four more than I could have otherwise. Maybe it's worth a shot.
āDiary of Himura Shinobu```
Himura Shinobu. She died shortly after this entry, and was subsequently resurrected and joined the Hunters who became known as the Six Coyotes.
Not a very heroic death.
there's also the fact that we now know definitively that the traveler is not really that omniscient, so it likely doesnt individually know about the past lives of every person it rezzes
i've said it before, but the micah visions as part of the khvostov quest do a great job of characterizing the traveler, and showing how scared and vulnerable it is
its a very interesting way to write a godlike entity
We're a godlike entity to ants, the traveller is the same to us
It doesn't see itself as a god tho, and often in FS we got entries about the traveller being completely lost on what "its subjects" need/want from it
Be it the eliksni or us, or other races we don't know about
yeah, like that one where people start worshipping it and it doesn't know what to do with that
who is Ikoraās ghost?
Ophiuchus
After the snake?
I just made the connection you are yg
can we date failsafe
i hope
Do all the Scorn Barons have a unique model?
Like, the forsaken ones?
Its most likely similar to fallen designs where most of the time it tends to be some reused assets with unique parts to make them appear different
Hey lore gods I got some stuff I wanna ask about the lucent hive
So following the theory that in order to be come a guardian you need to to show devotion bravery and sacrifice how would savathun show thoes traits?
Boooo, get a better perspective on the narrative's theme, the whole point is that power is not a right, it's a responsibility, once which comes with protecting those who cannot protect themselves, either from others or from their own self
It's not necessarily a guideline, there are a handful of exceptions which show a trend of the Guardian Creed not being true, such as Cayde's past life and Uldren somewhat, Mael has even provided an example in the form of Shinobu who went on the join the Six Coyotes after initially ditching them prior to rez #šlore-discussion message
Man if only the game hammered this information down every single goddamn expansion and arguably every season
Including every d1 dlc and the main campaign
Not like it does that, a lot, to this day. Oh well!
Imagine being so starved for a power fantasy you miss the messaging of responsibility inherent to the game
If people paid attention they wouldn't think that the grave we see is representative of how we die
Same with the sword
But alas.
That's just completely unrelated to the topic at hand
To ants we may seem like gods but we're far from it. Same applies to the traveller.. it may seem like it is a godly being but it is just as afraid of dying as we are
Ants usually donāt have enough force to kill a god
Guardians can regularly be killed by run of the mill dregs
Explosive shanks
Again, just completely unrelated to the topic at hand
In what way
We were talking about the traveller being seen as a god by humans and other civilisations but it's anything but.
It's just more powerful than us so the analogy of humans to ants is the same as the traveller to humans
Tell me how itās unrelated to a misinterpretation of the Travelerās inaction and the perspective she has
Take a chill pill my guy
Because itās very fucking clear she cares about the individual beings she encounters
I never said it didn't

Seriously calm the fuck down please
Iām not usually one to agree with Tox, but you did take it out of context.
Thatās not what they were talking about at the time.
Merely just noting on the differences of perspectives between the Traveler and those that view it.
Does anyone have a link to the loretab where it's stated that Cayde can wield Arc
I think it was an emote
It doesnāt need to be stated
Anyone can run anything
Doesnāt mean theyāre good at it though, which is why the standard for most is just minmaxing
Can Titans pop a golden gun?
Yes
Classes arenāt even a real thing
They are quite literally just societal constructs
Itās not like you get a seminar upon rez dictating what you are
People just conformed to what came naturally
Some warlocks can be foolhardy and some hunters can be studious, and some titans can be careful and precise
Itās really just personal preference
Waiting for us to get crows cloak, mf has a goddamn poncho but is classified as a cloak
Care to explain how itās a poncho at all
Look at literally every character model of crow
I see something that barely covers his shoulders and then a separate piece of cloth exclusively at the back goes down to his ankles
So I donāt see a poncho
Hence my question
The thing with the bird is a separate garment
its still really cool though
It is pretty cool.
The cloakās hood is pulled through the head hole with the actual cloak left underneath
Except thats literally false because of caydes gift
We see his in game model in the last cutscene of the campaign
ye but i wanna see him during gameplay
Crows gonna be apart of episode 2
would you care to show it
You know either way it doesnāt make it a poncho in any capacity
you must be great at parties
I know š
I'm compiling a list of explicit multi-subclass incidents to rebuke people that say Lightbearers are locked to one subclass in the lore
Just bring up Ikora and Osiris and call it a day
Me when I donāt have a valid argument.
You got a permit for that argument there?
Need more Hunter examples
so far have Efrideet's Solar in A Man with No Name and Arc in Remembrance class items
Literally just anything concerning darkness really
Whatever I found it
Arcstrider's Patience
"It may look like funāand trust me, it isābut don't drop that thing. You might hurt yourself." āCayde-6
If people can accept wielding two powers of completely different origin, why would they argue against powers from the exact same one
people be stubborn
IIRC, theoretically anyone could learn anything but itās like Crow said, you never see a Warlock wielding a Golden Gun.
Guardian classes are basically learning disciplines, and like⦠Sure, a boxer could learn how to fence, but I imagine they would have an easier time learning Kung Fu. I think itās just a matter of differing schools of training- As with Blink, we know abilities can transfer between classes as Light is only limited by oneās imagination and experience.
Itād just be easier for a Warlock to learn a different way to unleash raw elemental power, than say finessing into a finer instrument like Hunters do.
Yeah they're more of "Guardian cultural artifacts based on distinct interpretations of the Light" like Chalco Yong says
Easier to fit into one but they're not hard rules
So, possible, but most probably wouldnāt put the effort into it. Given how the vast majority of Lightbearers struggle even with basic subclasses.
All of this is to say, Shaw Han using a golden gun to make his allies radiant makes him a hipster
funny swarm lore tab
fuck i wish we didnt have to imagine what this stuff looked like
Heās never once shown actual effort into his yas build
Which leads me to believe heās just running it for the roll
And therefore he shouldnāt be allowed to argue anything about buildcrafting
His fashion sucks
maybe he wants to try to look good
people in the tower are just ashamed of him?
tbf
he is a hunter NOT dressed in all black
so thats a massive W
His fireteam members probably faked their deaths to get away from him
Only explanation for how theyād die to an Omnigul cosplayer
source: vfordii
Canon because hunters stole blink from warlocks
and then pretended they came up with it
They were real for that
wheres the lore tab about the titans mad at rift
or was it well
it was something
is it the phoenix lore tab?
It was well
As looping back to the earlier conversation, still not a poncho. And when he moves in-game, you can more readily see that the cloak goes under his... shoulder cape thing.
Well they referenced his haircut ingame and immediately killed the joke by giving him a new one which I think is funny
Felt like it was directly referencing Caydeās bad writing in Y1
I just realized that Crow is practically wearing the same outfit, just in Hunter Vanguard flavor.
Though, this does feel like a very Crow thing to do.
Iām just glad my characters arenāt awoken
Ending cutscene would definitely be ruined if it was just Ikora surrounded by the blue man group
half poncho
distress
Voldemort
may i ask what this fallen looking thing is over in the cosmodrome?
man
ive seen people say it could be the wrath of the machine raid entrance but i personally dont really see it
SURE its a weird looking ball with spikes
BUT
they are way too long and wide
maybe because its a weird distance thing i dunno
ive done enough OOBing in that raid to know that silly spiky ball when i see it
you know whatās something ive wondered for a while
how both different Rhulk and Nezarec seem from the Witnessā ideals on the Final Shape
Really, their motives on being Disciples of the Witness is really odd
Yes
Their are like part of the letās call āwitness gangā but they have different views and now with the witness dead they could do something thatās a cool plot to follow up
Darkness seems to be much more common In destiny lore than light and I am sure it would be considering that it is there just for whoever wants to use it
Ye, Darkness is taken but Light is given
Pretty sure that's a Splinter Mine model that's somehow been mixed into the skybox
And then we go on to see Hunters shooting Well's out of GG's.
Genuine question though...
Do you guys think Bungie will go down the route of there being guardians with the mindset of "The Witness was right" and having them be an enemy for an episode or expansion?
I'm not a fan of the idea personally, though I am conflicted with it in the case of human enemies being a thing.
Tbf I think its near impossible to have that happen, I mean, the final shape quite literally happened for a moment
And people did feel it
I donāt think anyone is agreeing with it at that point
Iām sure there are humans who donāt agree with the Tower or the Vanguard, but they are in no position to fight against us
I was talking to my son last night after he finished the campaign and we got to talking about the possibility of Saint-14 becoming the new Titan vanguard now that Zavala is mortal.
Vanguard isnāt really a position thatās meant to have to do anything with your current powers or abilities
Plus Zavala is awoken so itās not like heāll be grow too old anytime soon
I mean thats kinda what the Future War Cult was planning back in Splicer
What will Frontiers expansion be? š¤ I hope it'll be BrayTech or dead orbit comeback
To put it simply
No one has any idea besides bungie
Including the part of putting Saint into the Titan Vanguard position
We have to fight Big Awoken controlling the vanguard
But apart from the fact that Saint has no intentions of returning as Titan Vanguard hes also kinda of planning to get the hell out with Osiris
They just wanna grab some Exodus ships and dip
Which is what could be the plot of Frontiers
Bungie probably doesn't know either.
the entire plot of Frontiers is just The Guardian learning how to become a mechanic so they can repair the exodus ships
Ship mechanics would be cool
rn they're just a cash cow
Time to carry giant wrenches around again.
Eh I doubt that
Despite Frontiers being a mere placeholder Bungie works very much in advance
Wouldnt surprise me if theyre already laying the groundwork of Episode 3 at this point and the Writers do be brainstorming for whats after
You know that does make me wonder...
What if we just take control of the Dreadnaught?
Have the factions made an appearance since splicer? Faction lore/political drama would be cool
Maybe
thats what IVE BEEN SAYING
but my brother is doubting the idea instantly
Nah they all got kicked out and thats the last we've heard from them
We could straight up make it into the Helm 2.0.
fr
Bungie made a massive document includes arach jalaal finding a place called distrubitary (Awoken pocket universe)
The Guardian controlling the dreadnaught will be the coolest thing to happen in this game
Wait huh
When where?
uh oh
We will have big big modified hive ship to play with, turn it into planet destroying machine

Considering its technically a throne world I find it hard to believe anyone can actually control the thing post Oryx death
Witch queen lore??
Huh
Wasnt aware of that
PLEASE LET US HAVE THAT
holy shit
He found the distributary???
He's human right
Did he make it inside?
Can you link me that document?
did this actually fly over everyones heads or what
Absolutely
yeah
tho in all fairness I havent kept up with the lesser lore bits in a good while
Finding the distributary is huge
Never heard of it
@white girder you got a link or anything mr?
I donāt think itās real
Ok so a few things
Itās not a āmassive documentā
Itās just one of those blog post lore tabs they used to drop
He also didnāt find the distributary
yeah i just found the blog post transcript on ishtar
He just theorized that it could be related to the big rings in the sky of the dreaming city (literally anybody with a hippocampus could probably guess)
Ah
i like him
shoot him.
Poetically
BUT HE IS CUTE
If gardener is the traveller , winnower is the veil , if winnower is not the veil ,the gardener is not the traveller
not technically
The witness calls the traveler gardener, that is confirmed
What it calls the winnower is whatās being questioned which then leads to further questions
What
Think about it this way , using unveiling , both gardener and winnower made themselves into a rule in the game and both light and dark exist and are linked to traveller and veil , so there is no reason why veil and winnower would not have a relationship similar to traveller and gardener @ember storm
can someone give me a real quick desc on who the sanctified mind is and why it was the final boss the garden of slavation
he seemed so random and still is
Yo. So I got this question thatās been bothering me throughout TFS. I absolutely love every aspect of the story and dlc but I havenāt been catching up too much of the witness lore from light fall and previous seasons(I came back from witch queen). So I wanted to ask.
If the Witness is so powerful, why didnāt he just outright kill all of the guardians and just take the traveler and complete the final shape?
Not true! It randomly speaks if you've got it on while exploring the Throne World, and if you do Preservation
During the events of the Final Shape, its power was focused on controlling the Traveler.
Prior to that, it's because it wanted us to suffer. To lose hope and faith in the Traveler. After all, if not for the power of an already dead Wish Dragon and Crow's unique connection, we'd have never made it inside.
Ohh so when we fought it most of its power was focused on subduing the traveler allowing use to be able to stand a chance against it?
Correct! Gotta focus up if you're gonna try and control the most powerful entity of Light to ever exist.
Thanks man this answer makes a lot of sense. I was so confused cose I remember in the first cinematic he legit just flicked his finger and wiped out a fleet but now I notice when the traveler shot itās terraforming beam he got distracted and focused on it
Or like
When he flicked his finger
Then focused solely on the beam
Cose the beam shot before the flicking lol
ooh neat! ā¤ļø
Was the transmission crisis/Shirazi's experiments an early form of SIVA? Or just nanotech in general? Timeline indicates the transmission crisis happened around Rise of Iron, was this mentioned in-game?
Nvm found this writeup
It was the event that happened before the SIVA outbreak in the Cosmodrome. During the events of Destiny, the Fallen were searching the Cosmodrome for SIVA, a nanomite that could be programmed to do anything the user required. The Fallen discovered SIVAās origin and broke into the Clovis Bray facility on Mars. In doing this, they released highly contagious test SIVA mites. The test mites were made by Clovis Bray during the Golden Age in an attempt to aid deep space colonisation. However, the experiments were unethical and often ended up with unwanted side effects.
Guardians roaming around Mars started to have mites floating around their heads that made them happy and joyous. The Vanguard were concerned that their Guardians were becoming infected and wished to block the infection from entering the City. They contacted the Owl Sector, a group of civilians that worked with the Vanguard to prevent issues like this. The Owl Sector worked hard to discover what the mites were and how to quarantine the Guardians from the city. During their research, they discovered that the mite was harmful to civilians and were worried that Guardians may infect the entire city. They initially struggled to keep Guardians away from the tower, but eventually managed to find an antidote to the infection and ācureā the Guardians of their disease.
After this, Saladin took it upon himself to discover how this all happened due to SIVA killing all his Iron Lord companions. He discovered that the Fallen had found SIVA and were using it to enhance their own bodies so that they could ascend. This is where the Rise of Iron campaign takes place where The Guardians defeats the Fallen and stops the SIVA within the Cosmodrome becoming a problem.
So it was an early version of SIVA
an ARG with infected streamers damn that sounds awesome
Does anyone have footage of the transmission crisis when it was live?
im sure there are some videos out there
but what i really liked was the little map they had for the infected
god i wish they could do something like that again
The narrator in Ghost Fragment: Clovis Bray 2 is Clovis Bray right?
These spires soar like birds into the dusty pink sky. I marvel at this, my new home. The planet Iāve dreamed of since I was a boy with a telescope, peering at that warm red light, hope of our overcrowded planet.
What Iāve been working on will solve all those problems. Developed in these laboratories built to my specifications, by my handpicked t...
There is a non-zero chance that the first trans Exo was someone Clovis Bray forced into a different body just to see what happens
Doesn't read like it, no
Itās Brovis Clay
I thought it was an underling but idk who else it could be
Thought it was the siva dev's pov
Willa is the siva dev
I think the narrator is Dr. Shirazi
the person who worked on the precursor to SIVA
I think this is after Shirazi tried to blow the whistle
āYouāll be able to expand soon,ā she said. āInto the space currently occupied by the Shirazi Lab.ā
āAre they relocating?ā I said.
āMoving on to other opportunities.ā
hmmm, could be an unknown researcher who helped develop SIVA itself then
Are all exotic rifles and armors the only ones or are there multiple copies???
Itās weird
The thorn exotic is a copy of the original (mass produced)
But the Lumina exotic is the original thorn but purified
(Not mass produced canonically)
Coldheart is definitely mass produced tho, omolon peak engineering
link? wdym
he wants to, i bet the queen knows it, he can just ask lol
watch, history of factions and why they removed it video, the youtuber talked about future of dead orbit, FWC just needed a new leader, dunno about new monarchy.
he is tho
New Monarchy organised the attempted coup of the Vanguard and Consensus.
With the other's help
ironic
since New Monarchy was known for stopping a previous one

Bypass Authority Berriole of Owl Sector breaks into Dr Shirazi's files during the Transmission Crisis and this happens when she leaves:
On my way out, I looked again at the tracks I followed into that room. Clawed. Fallen, I'd say, but there are no Fallen on Mars. Odd.
Closing mission and coming home.
Are these the SIVA splicers?
Report of Bypass Authority Berriole, OS-I6 1, for Owl Sector records, assigned to incident TRANSMISSION.
I have been tasked with returning to the Dust Palace on Mars, which as far as we know is the only link between the Guardians first affected by these overrides. Appropriate contamination equipment has been requisitioned, although specs are for...
Did Ikora have a sordid history with Shun Li? There are weird implications about their dynamic in Brilliance 3.2 and Cayde pokes fun at it in Splendor 2.6*
*Zavala responds by mentioning "that frame of [Cayde's]," which makes him back off immediately. Uh... what is he doing with that frame?
Edit: Ikora and Shun are 100% bitter exes lol. "Korrie," the worrying, the instant increase in resources when he gets sick.
New question:
They raised Earth children on alien planets. You might have been one of them.
IR: Sometimes I regret disclosing my history to you.
Her history? Do we have any info on who Ikora was before she was Risen?
we were investigating something the Witness was trying to do with the Scorn in the Pale Heart
Is the Transmission Crisis the source of the āSIVAAAAAā meme? It doesnāt appear that the mites innately cause maniacal happiness, but because Guardians are weird and act the way we players do, they liked the colorful mites and gleefully spread it to each other. And from what Iām reading, players fuckin loved this event.
I think the meme is more so people desperately hoping for Bungie to bring SIVA back into the story, so they freak out when the possibility of its return is seen or referenced
So im curious btw. Why didnt the witness do its wavy finger thingy and just cut us into bits like how it did for the trailer at very beginning cutscene of lightfall
probably because it was too busy wrangling the Traveler
also maybe the power we gain in the Pale Heart prevents it
Did their fondness for SIVA come from Transmission or was RoI/SIVA that good on its own? Or both?
I'd say the expansion itself since the transmission thing was just a brief event and was technically not about SIVA
Fomo strikes again
That is fine, my love for SIVA is borne out of Felwinter lore, and the end result is the same
I had a similar conclusion. Ghost talks about our new power alot.
Buuuuuuut problem, at the end of the campaign, we are forced to retreat and we get away really fast so fair enough, but zavala is with the rest of the vanguard not getting turned into pizza so idk. Probably because we were killing the people inside of the witness weakening it.
So i have a lore question, is there lore behind all the Ahamkara exotics? Like the hunter warlock and the newly Titan one?
Well do they have a loretab? Yes? Then they have lore
But if youre asking about the ahamkara exotics in general its just guardians putting the bones of Ahamkara on their armor which we know still have wish magic in them
Okay more clear, Whoās Ganneth? Whoās bones are on each exotic if it explains that, whoās Ol-Amral
There im out lmfao
Havent actually looked at the tabs yet
I should do that again tbh
Exotic loretabs are usually either interesting or very funny
Tricksleeves my beloved introducing us to Carl the Titan
Best bouncer in sol
Ganneth seems to be a wish dragon hunter, not a Hunter (class) but a Guardian that hunted down the Ahamkara during the Great Hunt. Ol-Amral seems to be a vender/shopkeeper/etc who seems to have been scammed by Ganneth.
This is the first mention of either of these characters, just looks like a one-off story
So taking the story into consideration, and the name of the exotic, the exotic itself might have been those āfakeā bones which might have actually been Ahamkara bones
Kinda weird how the vanguard never outlawed the posession or usage of Ahamkara bones
Yeah itās a little wacky, youād think theyād get rid of them considering it does the same as the things they were hunting
The great hunt clearly showed the dangers of wish magic
So yeah pretty funky that you have a bunch of guardians just carrying those bones around
Or Shaxx having one hang above his head
Or Eris holding onto a hers yeah
Then again, if there was a ban on them Eris wouldnāt exist rn
So maybe thatās like the only reason?
Vanguard favorism smh smh
Mara pulled some strings so that the Awoken wouldnt get in trouble when it came out that they kept a living one for themselves
The thing is that the bones are a diluted form of it (afaik)
Like whatever Ahamkara is in Young Ahamkara's Spine just gives you grenades for some reason
I mean there you just open the debate whether exotic perks are canon or not which entirely depends on the exotic
Some do, some dont
Maybe the hunter who made the armor really fucking liked grenade and wished for more and thats how they got their effect
Or its not related to the ingame at all
Some exotic armor actually canonically does how it works ingame, others seems to have inherited some aspect of how the guardian who used said armor acted and even others have no corelation at all
Stompes for example I believe canonically work like they do ingame
Something such as Nighthawk or point contact braces are infused by the light in a way that reflects how their previous owner used them
And the ones that just do random shit like eternal warrior
Wonder if Clovis ever worked with/on ahamkara, (excluding the YAS ornament)
Yeah the in-game to lore exotic/legendary armor/weapons explanations tend to just throw consistency out the window
Which makes total sense tbh
A game like destiny has to make a clear cut between lore and gameplay
Well thatās the thing, it does that really well. No examples come to mind, but there are definitely some cases where the lore doesnāt have anything to do with whatever armor/weapon youāre looking at.
They are intertwined pretty well yeah
And even when they arent the overall gameplay still workes close enough with the lore
Raids are probably the best example
Basically no encounter mechanics are really canon but the raid overall still tells the same events
And others, like Riiswalker are tangible examples of what the lore tab is talking about (Riiswalker doesnāt have a lore tab ? iirc but the quote talks about the gun itself).
Like it literally mentions the gun itself
Pretty sure Riiswalker has a loretab
All the Eliksni themed IB guns had some which usually tell little stories of the Eliksni getting used to living in the city
Or was that the armor?
Cant remember
Ok it does yeah have a lore tab
Yeah thought so
Anyways, the inconsistency of making the loot relevant to the lore tab is kinda weird to me
Well not every gun has a story worth telling
Sometimes they instead tell a different tale through the loretabs
Or wdym with this
Thatās what I mean, otherwise personally it feels like when looking at the gun/armor it doesnāt have much of a story to tell as compared to something like Thorn.
Well that's cause Thorn is an exotic
Also thorn shoots projectiles 2x the size of the cylinder
Ignoring that itās an exotic, Iām talking about the backstory of whatever equipment Iām using
Or lack thereof
Are you the Australian?
Legendary gear is rarely "unique" in the way that there aren't many of them thus its usually used to tell stories related to the time it came out in aka seasonal storylines
Exotic gear (besides a few exceptions) are unique and just exist once and are also special in some way thus giving them a backstory worth elaborating on
Most exotic weapons are custom made or infused with light in some way that makes them special
Armor I already went over earlier but same case there
Yeah no exactly, I understand. I wish there were more lore connections to whatever Iām using, barring the rarity. I wanna make that connection from lore to the game, and say āYeah Iām actually using this sick ass thing from the loreā. Clearly if they can do that for a few legendary weapons, I feel like they can do that for seasonal weapons at least but maybe thatās asking for too much.
It goes against the lore tho
Legendary weapons are usually mass produced
We talking about the Thorn and Lumina situation again?
There are notable exceptions such as perfect paradox a legendary that has big lore tied to it
Damn
Did it send twice?
My point exactly
Hi
Yea lol
Hi (who let you out of genchat)
Yes
Good going discord
Gen chat?! Off topic is my home
But that would take away from legendaries being legendaries and exotics being exotics
For now
Wha
Which is why I think seasonal weapons should be the exception here. Forget about world drops, only these
*and raids/dungeons
Strictly lore
I don't really see the personal need for legendaries all getting their own dedicated stories
Honestly the case we discussed earlier where the eliksni themed IB guns tell stories about how life in the city is are much nicer
Seasonal legendaries are a perfect way to sprinkle in little lore bits about what's happening overall
Since lorebooks usually tell a set longer story
Can't really tell a special story about a warlock robe that just isn't special
It doesnāt need an entire story. Obviously with stuff like Last Word, Thorn, and Lumina you have an entire story that could literally be a TV series. But I think stuff like Riiswalker is a great example of what I mean. Anything simple as an NPC acknowledging the gun itself is great, and exotics still get to keep their fantasy.
I understand where youre coming from but eh you can only really do that like once or twice before it becomes boring cause yeah while Riiswalker looks cool and the Eliksni who forged it knows their stuff thats kinda just that
It might get boring yeah, but the recent way weapons/armor have been feeling lately, at least to me, donāt hold the same feeling of wonder/importance anymore
Theyāre kinda just
A gun
Or piece of armor
Okay this might sound outlandish
But
Thats what they are lmfao
A gun
A helmet
A pair of boots
Seasonal moment?
mhm
Oof
š I know, but theyāre starting to feel less and less important?
I dunno how to word this
Undervalued? Missed opportunity?
They never really were important in the first place is my point
If you go back the Seraph weapons for example are just that
Guns that Rasputin made
The Eliksni themed IB guns were "special" because they were something new design wise
But thats about it
Okay yeah that right there, guns Rasputin made
Generally speaking legendary weapons have never been special
What about the new guns tho?
Vex themed guns?
Yeah
Guns that were partly infused by Vex stuff
Same case
Gun but themed differently
Gun but Rasputin
Gun but Vex
Gun but Awoken
The list goes on but they are all just normal guns that shoot bullets
Nothing more
Thatās what Iām talking about theyāre just guns with the seasonal theme slapped on, which yes are cool, but they donāt feel like they have a reason for being that way
The reason being thats who we work with or whos important during said season
If its an ally its implied they gave us those guns in exchange for our help
If its Vex like this season we probably just found them somewhere
But thatās what I wanna read is what Iām saying š
Like I donāt wanna read about Zavala knitting on my Vex themed Scout Rifle
You want to read about how Rasputin throws a gun into our face and goes "yes go kill some shit"
I do
Zavala knitting is peak lore im not even joking
(Yeah that lore tab is cute)
A guardian walks through the Exodus crash site on Nessus, they look around and see something under a broken piece of wreckage
They inspect it closer and after a ghost scan its a old world scout rifle that over the hundreds of years has been infected with Radiolaria
The Guardian picks it up and goes on their way
Kinda boring innit
Caitl knitting moment

Eris
I mean I think thatās something interesting, but everyoneās favorite part of lore is always going to be subjective. I just wish for more lore connections to the guns I use, even if it might be a general acquirement of a themed gun. š¤·āāļø
Please, why are there already emotes of the inkblots
:( u
ād me
Thats alright everyone likes their lore different
I just tried to make an example of how your idea could probably get rather stale kind of quickly
Doesnt mean you cant like it
Yeah I can completely see how it can get stale, but the simultaneous connections of certain guns and complete disassociations of others has always struck me as inconsistent
Would certainly get stale tho fs
My favorite loretab is still the Salvagers Salvo one because it quite literally made me canon to the destiny universe
Thats not even a joke
Go read it
I am in there
I exist

there I am
Its me
Sadly im a follower of the Future War Cult
That kinda sucks
Considering how they turned out
Yeah what exactly happened to them, I know it wasnāt anything good
I stopped playing around that time
Well Lakshmi turned the Xenophobia dial to 11 and really went against the decision of House Light living in the last city
In her "defense" she was partly corrupted by Savathun but still
She went as far as planning to overthrow the Vanguard together with the other 2 factions and in the end opened a Vex portal in the Eliksni quarter which marked the (afaik) first and only time that the Vex set foot inside the last city
She died there at the hands of the Vex and the factions were exiled form the last city
Tbf the factions have been irrelevant for the longest time so Bungie probably just wanted them out of the picture which I understand
Yeah my thoughts exactly
An interesting thing you also get from the Salvager Salvo loretab
Maier was investigating a HƤkke warehouse which stored parts of the Travelers cage from Red War aka light suppression tech
Back then it was and kinda still is theorised that the FWC was considering to start a civil war/uprising against Guardians themselves
Note that Salvagers Salvo came out the season before splicer so the whole thing was a sort of teaser of whats to come
Okay but did Dead Orbit help FWC
Yes
NOOO
The 3 factions aka FWC, Dead Orbit and New Monarchy worked together on the plan to overthrow the Vanguard
Apparently they were at least mentioned again in some bungie.net post but I doubt we'll properly have them back in the ingame narrative
Technically, no. They were, however, complicit with the coup, and let New Monarchy come with them when the coup failed.
š
So are the Taken creations of the Witness or Winnower?
Witness is described as their true master
So who did Oryx speak to in the books of sorrow to gain the power to Take?
Was it the Witness?
Itās worth noting that previously, the āoldest and most dangerousā taken were characterized with yellow eyes, a trait exclusive to some bosses
Iām pretty sure all taken in the pale heart have yellow eyes
So yeah
Not sure why they made that change
Maybe to signify that these taken are just powerful because their juiced up in the pale heart?
Theyāre all exclusively the witnessā taken
Nobody else has any amount of control of them, they are its personal creations
Also Iām surprised we didnāt have more taken bosses
I hope one episode is us hunting down the other 2 factions
Like come here and face my wrath
To be honest, why bother?
Which factions?
Also why bother what?
Hunt down the other two factions. I assume he means New Monarchy and either Future War Cult or Dead Orbit.
Nah their followers were exiled like the other two
Whether they are still a thing no one knows
Well if they ever add an enemy human faction, we know who we gotta eradicate then
Half of the FWC abandoned it before Lakshmi died anyway, and live in the City
Well there's also DO and NM
Oh, I forgot about that. I wonder if they ran into the black fleet.
Cuz I'd assume they left our system in the same direction they were coming from
They couldnt handle how based she was
Actual terrorist
Bungie did a good job at making me hate her
I remember that whole season every time I'd get any FWC loot I'd just scrap by default
They keep saying that Lakshmi was manipulated by Savathun but ngl that kind of xenophobia dont come out of nowhere
She was definitely a hater even beforehand
Interesting if you consider this was that first and only time that the Vex ever even set foot in the last city or even earth itself I believe
I thought the Vex were on the Cosmodrome back in D1?
Really?
@trim grottofact check that rq homie
I mean I briefly played d1 years ago, but I vaguely remember them being there
To my knowledge earth is super off limits for the Vex cause yk Traveler and light and shit
The only reason they started the endless night in the first place was because Quria initiated it who was taken and controlled by Savathun
Pretty sure if youd bring an Vex to the last city id shit itself because of all the light
?
As we know from that one Red War adventure they already get scared shitless if theres even a Guardian around them
Is it wrong that I want to see a full scale Vex invasion?
Literally go to Nessus lol
Of the Last City
How fucking dare you
All I want is to see the Vex being a major threat for once
And not in a season too
That is a fair thing tho
Im happy enough theyre at least the main focus of a season for once
But writing the Vex is super hard because they work so much better in concept than ingame
This might change with whats bungie got in store for them this season
But as of right now you cant write a compelling Vex villain
I hope so, seems like they're experimenting here with that Vex entity on the cover of this episodes art. We still don't know who or what they are.
True
But the issue is that if you make the Vex more "human" you take away from what makes them scary
The whole idea of the Vex is them being a collective
Their untold numbers and complete lack of emotions or direction besides the goal of total consumption is what makes them scary
They dont care about time
Everything thats happened since D1 is like the blink of an eye for their timescale
Doesnāt mean they just drop dead
vex were invading the city in droves during splicer after the endless night was gone
I didnt say theyd die but shit themselves
Yeah they donāt do that
Theyāre absolutely fine
And the ācanāt simulate paracausalityā is also a tad inaccurate
They can simulate it and replicate it on a basic level
They were doing it while invading oryxās throne world
Then how come theyve never even looked our way
Actually trying to learn how it works scientifically is where theyāre dead in the water
they can run a simulation where a warlock unleashes the absolute power of the sun with a flick of the wrist
and the only result is going to be the warlock killing everything
they understand paracausality enough to know its a wasted ventured trying all out war
