exactly
these incidents involve the compelled Vex
I wonder if they will get an actual Collective name
like Sol Divisive and Virgo Prohibition
Dance Dance Revolution
Waltz Collective

How plausible is it to put The Fundamentals, communication device, sleep gas dispenser, scope, grappling hook, smokescreen, whatever is needed for software, and smart ammo into a sidearm?
Sounds like you're making the MIDA Multi and Mini Tools, but even more mini.
Omg

Still at work I'm afraid but hello Blue
Omg
hi
MIDA Micro-tool
I will say though, this may end up being a chunky gun
Eriana's Vow sized but purely through attachments
The scope and grappling hook are going to be attachments because there's no way to fit that inside of it
It's for a member of the Hidden
Btw, are the Hidden all Guardians, all normal people, or mixed?
Off the top of my head, I only know of Eris as a Lightless Hidden. But she was of course a Lightbearer, and was a Hidden then, too.
So I'd say just Guardians, without digging any deeper.
I assume ammo that can redirect itself mid flight
Low level tracking
Maybe nanotech ammo that adapts or something but that would require SIVA or something similar which is not legal
Isn't that just the Void stat buff from The Fundamentals?
Well there's always Neomuni tech, if your concept is modern.
The stat buffs were only added recently
Used to just be a flat element change
Recently as in
Maybe a year ago
Oh
Well, I don't think that matters much
Ok, the sidearm's main thing is applying a debuff (suppress, blind, or scorch)
But lorewise each element could be used for different things
Such as Arc being used as a taser, Solar to ignite fires and melt through things, and Void as whatever it does
Can Someone explain the witness to me I thought it was oryx who led the hive to earth empowered by the darkness leading humanity to the collapse but now it’s the witness and his dark fleet?
We never actually knew what caused the Collapse for a long time. Since... Well, for many years in D2 now, we knew it was the Black Fleet. The Hive are only tangentially related to this.
I’m confused wdym I thought that the hive lead their armies and destroyed human civilization because they were spurred on by the sword logic and the worm gods hunger. And thar they were chasing the traveler after destroying the fallen civilization who also followed the traveler?
The Hive were not the reason for the Collapse. While some were on the Moon during it, they did not lead the armies, and were not there en masse.
They also were only possibly there for the Whirlwind, with that theories being largely relegated to an interpretation of a single item description.
I’m confused then because is that not what byf said in his video? From my understanding the hive evolved into the osmium empire due to the word gods then they wanted to use their sword logic which led the to war. They chased the light since it was their anti thesis destroying the fallen which was a civilization under the light. Crota also inadvertently created the vex. Then the fallen chased after the traveler when it fled. Then the hive started attacking humanity and so did the fallen because they wanted to reclaim the traveler?
I have no idea what Byf said in his video.
However, there are some points you're misunderstanding somewhere along the line.
Is there somewhere I can read the whole lore I’m trying to catch up to shadowkeep so I can experience the current campaign properly
There is precious little evidence of the Hive being present at the Whirlwind: that being that we found an Eliksni Relic on the Dreadnaught and that's about it. Everything else, including the Eliksni themselves such as Variks, described the Black Fleet alone.
Similarly, we can say that Hive were on Luna as they were already there during the Collapse, but the Collapse was preformed by the Black Fleet, by and large.
Oryx never stepped foot in Sol until after his son died, and The Taken King DLC for D1 dropped
Ok then I’m wildly misunderstanding
I watched his old video then switched to the new one where destiny 1 lore began
Maybe he updated the story or something
Crota also didn't create the Vex
Savathûn tricked him into cutting into their dimensional layer, allowing them to invade Oryx's Throne World.
That’s what I meant by that
Can you explain the lore from the start for me or recommend somewhere I can read it?
They existed in our universe prior to this regardless
Well that's ten years of lore and I'm on my mobile in my car after finishing my shift so I can't explain it all
However, let's see...

If I just read the previous on destiny willl I be fine
Byf released a brand new 10 hour video - yes, literally - about Destiny lore from start to end
Never watched it myself, haven't seen his stuff for years
Previously On Destiny hasn't been updated since Witch Queen; but it does give easy to digest overviews of each season and expansion you may have missed. It's a good starting point pick.
Yea I just got up to the curse of Osiris looking at the description there’s more older lore timeline wise than his old video I think that’s what created the discrepancy
I don't really find byf stuff very digestible
he talks in circles a lot, and constantly makes the simplest lore books overly complicated for no reason and stretches it out from like a 8-9 minute watch to like 20-25 minutes
and doesn't really go into his points very often, and just says "this lore is cool because something something"
his intro is also kind of like rick kackis and takes forever to start the video
but he is still an amazing youtuber, and nice guy but I honestly recommened reading the lore yourself and coming here rather than watch his 30-40 minutes exposition dump, however a lot of his old vids are really good though
From my experience, he also tends to take his personal interpretations of vague portions of the lore as fact and states them as such, and has similar issues with his theories about how the story is going to unfold and then he gets angry when it doesn't go as he predicted.
So he's a decent source, just take everything he says with a grain of salt.
Well I just caught up to shadowkeep from reading the lore
The beginning of the current campaign starts after shadowkeep correct?
Basically, yes
Ugh...Going from TFS writing to what's going on in Echoes is painful.
@broken zephyr
So correct this if anything is wrong but way at the beginning of the story one of the first races the traveler blessed became possessed by greed and sought out the veil which taught them about the light and the darkness and lead them to believe the light was chaos and they needed to tame it through the use of the darkness. However the traveler fled after their attempt which caused them to unite their whole race into a singular being who wanted to create the universe in its own shape by combining the light and the dark. Following this the worm gods were created who served the witness and they eventually facilitated the creation of the hive whose founders were spurred on for revenge by their father’s assasination. Following the establishment of the osmium empire they followed the philosophy of the sword logic where the weak die to the strong. They began to hunt the light under the influence of the witness. They destroyed a civilization under the traveler who later became the fallen. The witness and his black fleet chased the traveler to earth where humanity was decimated in the battle between the light and the dark. The awoken were created from humans fleeing earth during this. As a last ditch effort the traveler created ghost empowering fallen human warriors as light bearers. Eventually humanity regrouped and founded the last city and the vanguard. Eventually you discover traces of hive in moon and kill Crota leading to oryx coming and you kill him. You also kill the fallen later who are empowered by siva. You also help the awoken by killing h the fallen that betrayed them. Then the cabal invade take over the last city and block the traveler light. Then later you beat their leader who tried to become a light god which caused the traveler to awake and kill him. Now that the traveler reawakened the black fleet seem to be back. And later the daughter of Crota tries to avenge him by utilizing nightmares. If there’s anything I missed or misinterpreted lemme know this should be all up to shadowkeep which is where the current campaign will start
Dunno
What's up
- I wouldn't say the Witness precursors were greedy, it was moreso a desire for purpose which they found with the Veil.
- I wouldn't call what the Hive became the Osmium Empire
- Killing Skolas came before Oryx showed up, but after Crota was killed.
- Crota had 4 daughters, and they were emboldened by Savathun to raise the Scarlet Keep. Though they have tried to harness Nightmare energy quite a bit.
you really are Orange now
I sure am, rejoice
very Brave
How Brave?
Savathun is oryx sister who fled with her brood right
fled as in?
Didn’t she like flee during the battle with the elicsne because she wanted to be distant from oryx or something
we have very little on what went on with the Eliksni
we don't even know what the Hive's involvement in the Whirlwind was
or if they had any at all
only evidence point to it is some King's Fall weapons
Btw how did uldren betray the awoken and why
in a second
And is mara sov really dead
Whirlwind refers to end of the golden age?
ok, so Savathun did leave Oryx behind at some point, I think it was after the Golden Amputation
Whirlwind is the Eliksni's equivalent to the Collapse
Ah ok
so first we have to go over the Battle of Saturn which occured at the start of The Taken King when Oryx arrived in Sol
What is the golden amputation? When oryx got the power of taken?
it was when Oryx wiped out a specific species
I think the Tashibethi
Ok
Also what’s with the awoken and their prison why don’t they kill these threats instead of just letting them sit there it’s happened time and time again
ok so it wasn't the Golden Amputation that led to Savathun leaving
it was when Oryx wiped out a civilization called the Harmony and destroyed the Gift Mast (a creation of the Traveler)
and she left so in her own words: "we may grow different"
and Xivu Arath left soon after because Oryx had grown too powerful for her to accept
the point of the Prison is to lock away strong enemies so someone else can get rid of them for them
think of cutthroat politics
😭
everyone wants to take each other out, but killing your enemy is a liability
it can leave you vulnerable to someone else
so why waste resources on killing these enemies when you can have someone else do it
could be another prisoner within
prisoners are often forced into gladitorial combat
Hmm sure ig 🤷
or it could be Guardians looking for rewards
So what were you talking about with uldren and the battle of Saturn
ok, so the Battle of Saturn was when Mara Sov took the Awoken Fleet to stop Oryx's Dreadnaught and the rest of his fleet in the rings of Saturn
this battle ended with Oryx using his superweapon which wiped out everything in a huge radius around the Dreadnaught
that is how his weapon worked
he takes out a small piece of his Throne World into our world(about the size of an egg) and the result is a devastatijng reaction
even though Uldren was in the battle, he managed to survive
his ship crashed on Mars where he would later be captured by the Fallen House of Kings
their Kell, Craask, would enlist Uldren tohelp him unite the houses
so Uldren would lead them on raids resulting in the deaths of many Awoken
the thing about Uldren at this point was that he got corrupted by Darkness energy
and Riven, who was partially Taken at this time, used this to manipulate Uldren and pretend to be his sister
Uldren believed he was working for his sister's benefit
and he started to think that all other Awoken lives were expendable because he believed Mara thought the same way
Mara is dead tho currently right
I'll get to that in a bit
because it's a pretty funny answer
so as I was saying
Uldren would then discover a dying Fikrul who was fatally wounded by Cayde-6
Uldren would make a subconcious wish to Riven to save Fikrul's life which resulted in Fikrul becoming the first Scorn
by Riven mixing some of Uldren's Darkness with Fikrul's Ether
so then Fikrul would return to the Kings and take them out
with Fikrul's help
eventually, Uldren would try and meet up with Petra thinking he could "save" her
Riven is the wish dragon that got turned into a taken by oryx right? And whose fikrul
only to find out that she is openly working with Guardians and other sort
so Uldren kind of lost faith in her
then he would go after some of the remaining Techeuns only to decide that he should turn himself in which is how he ended up in the Prison of Elders
Techeuns?
When Oryx activated his superweapon to wipe out the Awoken Fleet, the Techeuns who were with Mara tried to flee, but ended up accidentally leading Oryx to the Dreaming City where he ransacked it and took Riven, but made a wish in the process which is implied to have had a role in his downfall
Riven was the last known Ahamakra, who was kept imprisoned in the Dreaming City by Mara
poweful Awoken "witches" who serve Mara Sov
potentially strong enough to threaten a Guardian (like more than most enemies)
Fikrul as I said is the first Scorn
he was an Archon Priest who gained ideas that were heretical to the Fallen
so they kicked him out and he created the Scorn syndicate
then he would be mortally wounded by Cayde-6
right after that, Uldren would find him and unintentionally use Riven's magic to turn Fikrul into the first Scorn
you knwo what the Scorn are right?
and it should be mentioned that Fikrul is the main antagonist of the next episode, Revenant
so we will be seeing him in the near future
ok, now I think I can finally get to Mara Sov herself
so, she died at the Battle of Saturn
then she came back
then she died a second time between the events of Forsaken and Shadowkeep
Scorn is undying fallen
then she came back again and now she is still alive
more like Zombie fallen, but some of them have been shown to not stay dead
like Fikrul
who has been killed many times
Wait mara survived first time because she created a throne realm but it got corrupted by oryx
yes, she had a Throne World
it was an elaborate scheme to steal some of Oryx's power
she would be trapped on purpose
then she waited for us to kill Oryx
then she got some of his power
What a bitch
the second time she died Eris had to go through quite a bit of hoops to bring her back again
I mean, it was technically for our benefit
say what you want about Mara, but she has went out of her way to help us time and time again
She got cayde killed 🥺
no?
We had to clean her messes tho
she had very little to do with that
I thought using riven wishes had adverse effects which would affect those around
for Skolas we owed her a favor
yall could rhulk destroy tractor cannon
but none of those wishes had anything to do with Cayde
We also owed the awoken big time after they potentially saved the last city
I’m just saying lead uldren down that path and caused it
if you want a good person to blame, blame Variks
I mean technically they were humans they’re duty no?
I thought he was on our side
Yes but they could've chosen not to, and to save their own skin
Awoken used to be humans, but it really depends on how yuou see their creation
he?
who?
Variks
oh yeah
Didn’t he betray house of wolves
Mara chose to attack the house of wolves, who were on their way to attack the last city with other fallen, who barely held the line in the first place
well Variks' priority is really to the Eliksni
Variks had good intentions, but made some really bad choices.
he believed that Skolas' bitter hatred was not good for the Fallen, so he betrayed him
fun fact, Variks actually considered switching sides during the House of Wolves DLC
only for a brief moment though
as for how Variks killed Cayde
Variks was the one who caused the Prison of Elders prison break in the first place
What's the lore reason for us ignoring vanguard policy and keeping red death reprised
probably the equivalent to "fucks the Vanguard going to do?"
Oh fuck no uldren is a guardian now?
Arrest the guardian
Crow, specifically, aint uldren no more
different snake, same skin.
whats the specific lore behind tractor cannon
is it just a generic piece of ishtar equipment
Guardians when they're brought back dont remember anything of their past life, they're a entierly different person
with only one exception, they've all grown to be different people
Btw why do the cabal invade earth they don’t seem to be influenced by the darkness is it just that their leader wanted to control the light?
some good, some bad
Initially they're just conquerors who stumbled upon the sol system
Is the players history ever revealed
then the red legion, their main fleet, found out about the traveler and stuff
Intentionally left unknown to us
We're ment to be a "blank slate"
😭
🕳
why we barely speak, etc
I actually like it when the guardian talks
So we can add our own head-canon to it
Sad there isn’t much dialogue
So we keep crimson and red death cus we don't care Abt vanguard laws?
Theyre just a little shy
We never really did nah
Pretty sure half our exotic arsenal belongs in a locked vault instead of our Guardians hands
Especially the guns made out of or with actual gods infused to them
Ruinous Effigy is also probably breaking a shit ton of laws
the Vanguard seemed fine with letting us use it
The hell are they gonna do
Come here Zavala try to take my illegal gun away from me
Ill turn you into a purple orb
Lul
It's the same thing with Stasis at first
Vanguard didn't like it
But what were they gonna do?
But we the good guys
Even the good guys need good guns
Yea??
And some good guns are bad
There's tons of guardians
They can try
Surely we are arrestable
We are literally the chosen bro
🤔
Young wolf, Hero of the Red War, Avenger of Cayde, savior of Osiris (multiple times, negotiator (with Caiatl), Hero to the Eliksni, feared by the Vex
The list goes on
We're literally the single most powerful Guardian that exists.
House of Light* sorry
Probably
More powerful than ikora
Ikora doesnt really do much beside cheat herself two novabombs from time to time
Yeah shes been doing it since Red War but hasnt gotten banned yet
Shadowkeep is currently playable right
Yeah
Even Ikora. There's a lore tab from Witch where we talk with Savathun about the way into the Traveler. Ikora gets pissed off at her and threatens her, and Savathun just laughs because she didn't see Ikora as a threat. Then the Guardian reminds Savathun that they are in the room and she shuts up immediately.
Lmfao
Lul W
Guardian killed oryx so she probably pretty terrified
Guardian also killed her lol
—
The air still sizzled with dissipating soulfire as the Guardian and Ikora knelt beside Eris. An eruption of Light illuminated the thick smoke behind them, and Savathûn rose again, laughing.
"I suppose I had that coming," the towering god said as she rubbed her renewed throat. She slowly tilted her head.
"Something's different," she said caref...
That's the one
They can pry my funny balling weapon from my cold dead body
God I miss energy accelerant
I should add here that our strength doesn't come from just, raw power, ikora would absolutely wipe the floor with us
We're strong in the way we're adaptive, and really fucking good at fighting dirty
I mean really
No sand in the eye bullshit
I mean, it's been noted that our Guardian is 'abnormally powerful' in other lore tabs. There's no reason to think we're weaker than Ikora in terms of power
We're "beating something hundreds of times more powerful than us" good at fighting dirty
We have a usual talent
We miraculously know all the specific steps to navigate the most dangerous places in the solar system and the specific weaknesses of the mightiest foes in existence
Different, but important
Because iirc nobody has that except us, genuine talent
With the light and dark
Why don't we just lead the vanguard then
I mean, that translates to power, because it's been established that 'power levels' for Guardians don't actually exist. It's just a matter of ability.
Power =/= leadership capabilities
That doesn’t translate to leadership skills
I feel like we could lead
HAHAHA
Not in a million years
Dawg
We're a fucking decade old and not much more
That's old
Also our talents would be completely wasted at a desk
We're a new light by guardian standards
I mean, Crow is like 3
Piss fucking young for a guardian
New light yet we beat most of the vanguards enemies
Crow has the memories of the pretty experienced Uldren
Yeah, because we have a uncanny talent with the light and capability to fight dirtier than anyone in sol
We can’t beat anyone sitting at a desk filing papers and directing fireteams
True
We systematically starved a hive god almost to death, who had previously decimated civilization vastly more powerful, then beat him up

We didnt just square up and fight oryx, we first got him so weak he was in the process of starving to death
Then brought 5 other guardians
Then basically stole magic thermonuclear bombs
And detonated them in his face
Imagine if Goku was forced to take the position of President
True, but our Guardian isn't an idiot. They were the one to realize the pattern in Savathun's wings represented a wish, for example.
Average destiny lore
Then killed him with the worm gun
Yessir
oh yeah we're not stupid, the way we fight using cheap tricks and tactics over raw power requires not being stupid
a bumbling idiot cant do that
Luck
oh yeah we're also lucky
so i finally got the traveler collectibles for the khvostov quest tonight, and there is some real juicy traveler lore there
Thats what im saying
specifically the revelation that the traveler is not really a god
it seems like (if they're real) the only true gods in Destiny's universe are the gardener and the winnower
the traveler is just a being of immense power related to those two
They are really interesting
What Abt the worm gods
And the Gardener/Winnower stuff has basically been confirmed by the new ship lore
Well that depends how you define "god"
The powers of one the Traveler definitely has but it doesnt seem to think like one or even like the idea of being considered as such
those are probably "lesser gods" i'd say. the traveler falls into that category of lesser god too i think
but the traveler is not the capital G God we all previously thought it was
Worm gods deff have god like powers
the worm gods were subordinate to rhulk and the witness
So what's the witness
Most strike bosses have the "godlike power" of making themselves immune so really its kinda hard to define whats considered a god in Destiny
Is witness a god
The term gets thrown around quite a lot
the witness is another lowercase g god
It just comes down to personal interpretation
☠️
Worm Gods aren't really gods though. They are basically in the same class of being as Ahamkara, and they just got juiced up the Hive's constant tithing.
i mean i'm taking this from what zavala says, he says something like "the traveler is not a god like we all thought it was"
They* smh
Laaaaaaaame
it* smh
The Witness outright refers to themselves as "us" or "we"
I'm still going with the Traveler and the Veil being pieces of the Garden
"us"
Because it doesnt
They are quite literally an entire race merged into one being
Yeah, but everyone else calls it an 'it'.
i think there's a decent chance that the veil is gardener-aligned as well as the traveler
😭😭😭destiny lore wack
for the last time guardian, our pronouns are it/its, not because we're non-binary, but because we're literally billions of mfs
Yeah
I kinda doubt it. It's confirmed now that it was the Veil that spoke to Maya, and taught her the same 'salvation' rhetoric the Witness liked to use.
Its not even a debate really the witness is "they" in the most literal sense possible
Multiples
So it's definitely not friendly and seems more aligned with the Winnower.
Tenno vs guardians who would win?
Indeed.
!feed @sharp osprey
feeding hegemon11 51 units of ether
thank
Villians wiki says one of witnesses crimes is gaslighting lmfao
i just quote the legend stan lee himself
'Oh, no, not my sedimentary necrolite, fossilized in time.'
does ether do anything lol
I'm still curious about what exactly the Winnower is talking about here.
Lore accurate guardians vs lore accurate tennos?
Boring answer
True though
powerscaling is boring
It's kind of a pointless question
There is no "lore accurate" guardian
They win in the lore or they lose in the lore
Since their systems of power work on entirely different dynamics
Powerscaling outside of the established canon or crossovers is boring as hell
Tenno pull shit from the Void or whatever, while Guardians have Light and Darkness.
Which power wins?
No way of telling
people get too wrapped up in canon and lore accuracy that they forget that its a media franchise with power levels built around plot
but yes, kirby solos
Multiple timelines and in some we win and some we lose
We play in the one we win
Ez game
Technically speaking, it’s the same principle as writing fan fiction just with power
You can make an ant win against god if you so want it to be
The writer is in complete control of the story
Like if you wrote a fan fiction of Goku and Superman where Superman called Goku a slur and ran away crying despite being the writer it wouldn’t be accepted
I think bro likes goku
Similarly if you wrote a fan fiction of an ant beating god it would also not be accepted
Biggest issue is characters like Superman have no set power levels
The writers may decide these but you aren’t the writer so you can only guess
In some storylines, they can be fairly easily killed and aren't ultra powerful
Yea in Batman vs Superman Batman can beat him with kryptonite
Literally beats him with a kryptonite spear
all this to say that power levels are secondary to storytelling and should generally only be used in service of said plot
In others, they are basically immortal and can blow up planets just by flying away
Of course, but the person debating the powerscaling isn’t the writer so they can scrutinize it all they want
What if I am?
If I write the story im the writer
the only acceptable powerscaling is kirby being the most powerful fictional being
cuz it funny
That is true
So anyway back to d2 lore lmao
Who will help me manifest Variks back into the story for Episode 2
yeah, the micah-10 visions are sick
Isn't Variks already confirmed?
i think variks was shown in the ending montage
Pretty sure we saw him in the trailer
He is shown next to Spider looking at a projection of Fikrul yes
So my hopes are rising
I wonder if he'll finally bite it
bite what?
Death
oh
A universe without Variks is not one I am willing to let live
never heard that expression for death
bite the bullet
ye
never heard just "bite it" tho, whatever
variks is a destination vendor, he wont die
those guys werent destination vendors
Tower vendors they don’t count
They were vendors though
Also what did Amanda do I don’t even remember visiting her ever
unless they give elsie all of variks's stuff
She was for ships and sparrows
i need elsie to be relevant in the story again
That's probably what they'd do if they killed him off
Please
Considering her whole Vex thing
Im surprised they didn't use her for this season
Would've been so much better than listening to Failsafe
facts
Wrong?!
Yes but also no
Why are we biting?
Failsafe forever
Banned
Death
failsafe isnt as bad as nimbus now, come on
Negated even
Forever lost in the corridors of time
Maybe even, expulsions
Nah, she is. Both of them are cringe comic relief characters that fuck up the tone of the narrative.
We are sending this man into the Gorgon maze
May he be removed from this timeline
Sorry Ambient, your lore nerd card has been revoked
May he not know the path
Oh great machine please smite this heretic

failsafe has made me exhale out of my nose a few times, nimbus just made me crave sweet death
Oh yea, any update on the raid lore?
What aspect of it?
is herald really taniks
That too
Well is he
Nah, different models, just similar.
Shes an ai that after being left alone for hundreds of years and deep depression developed a 2nd personality but actively tries to hide her miserable state by appearing happy
Idk what youre on about man
Maybe d2 vanilla you can make the argument but they turned her around
Millennial plant girl living alone
?
What
What makes you think they havent always been one and the same thing
Shes a failsafe ai for an exodus ship of course shes programmed to be polite
If it’s for the better why complain
'She should at least reply, Failsafe figured. She sighed internally and routed power toward the dusty rack housing her array of socialization filters and etiquette protocols. She winced as currents crackled across the worn cables—! LOW POWER ALERT: 4% !—but soon an ancient platter drive whirred to life.
Failsafe initiated a response. "Hey," she dictated. "Yeah, if you want to help Guardians play dress-up, you can have some of my old stuff."
Her filter happily translated Failsafe's thoughts into a form it calculated was more acceptable to the recipient.
"Bonjour, Ada-unit!" the filter typed cheerfully. "Your dedication to Guardian aesthetics is quite commendable! Your request has been approved! ^_^"
I want some of the old stuff, failsafe where is my exodus fashion
There's a world of difference between having a split personality, and having one personality that basically gets censored by a program.
But either way
It's not her lore that I take issue with
Her character is just annoying to me
if failsafe was the more blunt failsafe all of the time she'd be a lot better
happy failsafe is kind of annoying
Nah she’s a girlfailure I love her
anywho, why has efrideet not been a part of the story since rise of iron
She showed up some in D2 didn't she?
not that i know of
there has been some lore entries referencing her doings since RoI i think
There was a sidearm loretab back in god knows when
We DO have an ingame model tho, think back in d1 for a cutscene (may have just been the armor set)
Wait from when?
Oh yeah
Drifters bar?
not sure, i think it just talks about her pacificist colony in the outer solar system
That's what I was thinking of I guess
The bar scene
Pacifist colony
That’s all I know
@dim minnow I call upon the lore man
Have we heard anything from Efrideet in recent times or is that sidearm loretab you once theorized could detail her death still on the table?
i was kind of hoping she'd be the iron banner handler again after saladin became a cabal but noooo
The old doubts came back when the Light went out.
But the iron in her bones, worn and rusted as it was, never buckled.
The Light was gone, but holding a sniper rifle still felt right.
She marched into the City beneath a refugee's hood, took up a roost in the building with the white rabbit, and killed 216 Cabal with 199 bullets.
She cried when the Traveler woke before her eyes.
At her hip a radio blinked to life. It had gone quiet when the Red Legion attacked. She answered it with trembling fingers.
"I know," she said. "I can see it. I can feel it."
"Even the stars are brighter now," said the voice over the radio. "The whole cosmos is ablaze."
She closed her eyes. "I can't wait to see it. I'm coming home. Efrideet out."
We now have cabal banner
Wait so, did she ever find her ghost? Or did she lose it?
Imma be real I completely forgot she actually existed idk
She never lost her Ghost
That's just talking about when Ghaul caged the Traveler
And everyone lost their Light
Whats Shayura up to these days btw
Havent kept up with her lore in a hot minute
Last thing I remember she was in rehab
isnt shayura the anti-darkness guardian
Yea we do have in game scene

^_^ Enjoy the Video!
Last lore we had on Shayura was from Wish
And she had lunch with Aisha and Sloane
And talked about Reed dying
So i was reading some of the seasonal (episodic?) armor lore
We need to get failsafe a fish
Oh my
Once again the Exo gets fridged smh
Who will help me
Maybe in the helm area. So far it’s just been plants and jewelry
What's funny is that out of the whole fireteam
His Ghost was the only one that got killed
Exactly
Bring back the fish tank honestly
Maybe one day
Like the Witness was basically going 'Fuck you in particular'
For now, plants and jewels
On a related note, what was the specimen we picked up for this week supposed to be?
It just looks like three motes connected together
Is it on the left side?
I think it's dead center in the back but I can't remember
Ah, not sure then, haven’t done it
I remember it's three white glowing pyramids connected by three yellow line
Forming a triangle
Ah damn
I'll see if I can find one
she was at least
Idk if she is still
Cayde, Saint (formerly), Felwinter, a bunch more I can’t think of right now, now Reed, if you’re an important Exo guardian count your days big Awoken/Human is coming for you
Ranking Felwinter next to normal ass Exo units is wild
Shhh
Fortunately, my Exo Guardian has the greatest power money can buy. Plot armor.
Looks like more jewelry?
It could be but I feel like it's something else
Which reminds me, why are we finding jewelry on nessus?
Real, paid maybe 100 to defeat the witness
Cayde? Dead
Saint? Dead
Both cheated back to life
Id say its less plot armor more plot res
Cayde redied
I think we’re making it, yknow you to have a connection with failsafe
Saint would simply headbutt the reaper
But atleast he made himself proud (man that radio message hits hart)
I kinda wish we'd gotten the original ending
Man I wouldn't complain
Not so Cayde could live
Fuckin love failsafe
What is he? Teddy Rosevelt?
Based
Just because we could rez our Ghost and basically be like 'Yeah, we're god'.
Can I make Failsafe a ring 🥺
Teddy 2: Electric Boogaloo
Likely,
'Sorry Zavala, Targe is in pieces, can't do anything about that.'
I feel like it's more impactful the way it was though
So like, dungeon meshi when they need to revive a person
Anyways Big Awoken controls 2/3rds of the Vanguard while Exo don’t have any
Oh I like the ending we got
Plus it kinda undermines any plot points if you're just permanently immortal
Doubt theres pieces left of the bro
I have a feeling the Witness got a rather strong grip
Definitely cool though
The witness uses a grip strength trainer confirmed
Who are the important Guardians/former guardians now anyways
Exo control them all from the shadows
I need fanart of the Witness with its 50 hands all training at the same time
The shadow government strikes again
I gotta commission that dude
Oh fuck you're right
Yk what
At least for once Bungie didn't spoil the main plot points with its marketing
Nice
Zavala - Awoken
Ikora - Human
Crow - Awoken
Osiris - Human
Saladin - Human
Eris - Human
Drifter - Human
Saint-14 - Exo
I still wish we'd gotten the scenes from the original reveal trailer
All these humans taking our jobs
Dude, remember when we all thought Zavala was dying before release? Even probably warned a person for them saying it during downtime
And the Awoken controlling the vanguard I tell you
Stranger - Exo
Not a guardian doesn’t count

Ana Bray?
Not an exo
I’d have to count Mara too then which balances it out
what
This was just superblack
Or were you just listing names
just listing names
Ah
im a shrimple man
Micah-10
best cutscene!!
Fair
Just rewatched the reveal trailer, completely agree
Think this was from early concept art? Of the witness pulling an Attack on Titan and becoming a wall?
Could be
I sanction that each reset an exo has in their name should counted as an individual
if we cant win we cheat
Speaking of concept art
Banshee-44 easy
Exo win
Someone post the early concept art of the witness for final shape
Rahool
Alex has the right opinion as usual
The Exo Union accepts this sanction
nah but imagine if it was red
I scrolled a bit through Artstation yesterday but I havent found early story art and shit like I did with Lightfall unfortunately
Euagh, would be disturbing
Bungie posted a bunch of stuff
Really? Holdon lemme see if I can find it
It should be officially released
And also scrapped concept art
Maybe it's because I wish lightfall was the same quality
I still don’t know what they were thinking when they designed the witness’s face
one scary mf 😭
i mean
the white smoke is cool too
ig
I found alternative variants of the key arts we got which look cool as hell
No salvation?
Yea it was stuff like this
Oh found the Reddit link
Only thing I dislike about the Witness design
Btw fellas
Is the unibrow
Lets move this up to #🏆destiny-media
Pain
@fast tapir cough
But also yes its in the corridor to where you first met Cayde
ah
Anyways
Same spot as the red war
Looking at r/Destinylore
Don’t anyways, I’m dragging you to media
The sheer amount of Winnower stuff is hilarious
One piece of ship lore
And the game changes
byf got them all riled up
Did Byf do a video about the ship?
he did a video about
Yeah so was that the winnower or the witness?
I know he did a Winnower video before it came out
a lot
That was the Winnower
Huh
Destiny 2's Lore and Story from The Final Shape has confirmed that the Winnower, the long mythologised true entity of Darkness, is real. The Witness confirmed that it is not the Winnower & that it was instead its "First Knife." The Winnower & The Gardener's Mythology can be better contextualised with this statement alone, and we perhaps now unde...
Yeah that one
ITS REAL ITS REAL
Based, I really preferred the Winnower to the Witness
That was from before the ship lore came out
surely!!
Mfw my light fades away
naw we had the ship before this im pretty sure
i mean it is in collections
It wasn't originally
Dude I remember reading the raid leaks
The lore tab was glitched and didn't show
Nacre is the ship
"after the witness imprisons the winnower in the campaign you free it"
"you kill the witness by helping the winnower damage it"
Indeed.
The Winnower is a goth girl with a pair of scissors that cuts off the Witnesses head
What would've happened if nobody completed the raid in 48 hours
Would the witness win
Dunno
No more destiny
We have to retreat to fortnite with the help of Starhorse

where is starhorse live fortnite event
Pretty sure Raid race isnt technically tied to contest mode so the first team probably still would have won
Or maybe bungie extends contest
its just dares of eternity
We shall never know
The Starhorse appears and one shots the witness then decrees that as punishment for failing it 5 exotic are randomly deleted from the game
Theyre gonna add the SCAR to destiny
Also
Honestly sick as hell
Shit you know what
Do we know what calibers we actually still have post collapse?
Speaking of the leaks, it was kind of hilarious watching the people who datamined TFS once the download was done spread all sorts of misinfo that pissed everyone in those subs and channels off.
Clearly 12.7 (.50 cal) still exists, otherwise banshee probably wouldn't know about it
Calibers? We have omelon suros and hakke
Real
Fuck at some point I'm just gonna do a deep dive on what caliber every gun in destiny is
Hand cannon moment
that would be awesome
They kept telling everyone there was no new information about the Traveler, that the Witness confirmed the Winnower didn't exist and that Unveiling was all lies and a bunch of other stuff. The meltdown was epic.
Some of them are at least obvious
There's a lot that are just straight up copies of real guns
I'm so glad they actually answered questions though. The confirmation of the Winnower alone makes sense of a lot of lore.
With the difference that all handcannons in destiny are technically a magazine
Liquid ammo
Genius idea
Cold heart lore my beloved
Better question is
Old Sterling for example is absolutely an AK variant, so it's probably either 7.62x39 or 5.45x39
Why don't we just transmat ammo into the chamber
The Winnower tied up so much lore so well in such a cool and unique way when I heard they retconned them I was legitimately pissed
Instead of doing manual reloads
Too small and too specific for transmat? Probably
And also some gameplay elements like reload
I want to believe that hand cannons are just 40mm beehive grenades but you only fire one round at a time
Tbh, that's where I thought they were going with things since Chosen, and especially after Lightfall
But they presumably saw the backlash and kept it
Shit I'm actually gonna make that a personal project
I'm gonna find the caliber of every (primary) gun in destiny
the only gun where you could possibly tell the ammo type is Malf and that one Last Word ornament Laconic I think
I feel like we can safely assume all light GLs are 40mm
Ooh true
Since their magazines actually show you the rounds in question
Or I could measure bore diameter and compare that to real world examples
When do we get a .600 Nitro Express Heavy Hand Cannon
We need a legendary auto rifle that can hold 100 rounds
"the blaster"
lol
0 stability, no stock and no ADS
Soon...
I kind of hope we get a Spartan laser-esque heavy weapon eventually
Well lightfall is lightfall, not surprised
Like a cross between a rocket launcher and LFR
I’m genuinely boggled we don’t have this yet, with the forerunner and the rest of the 30th anniversary stuff I thought it was a lock in eventually
I wish they added more to 30th anniversary tbh
But I get that it's just a fun celebration dlc
When I heard about the heavy trace rifle I thought that was what it would have been
I wonder if they'll do something special for the 10th
Forerunner should have a buffed version of explosive payload
Someone says star horse and 30th is canon now that the witness uses its treasure in one of the memory bits
Any popular D1 exotics we still don’t have yet
It's always been canon
Definitely hoping we’re getting ice breaker but what else

Supercell
I thought Xur said it wasn’t real?
What wasnt real?
Take your pic (personally, thagomizers)
zhalo my beloved
i would never take it off
people just say
use risk runner!!
No Land Beyond comes to mind
Zhalo could come back since Red Death did
thats what im sayin
Were the class exclusive guns any good I’ve only heard about the warlock one
Don’t we already have a chain lighting exotic thays zhalo like? Forgot name, gimme a sec
ace was good in pvp
tlaloc was okay in pve
fabian was garbage
Oh khovostov, they combined it with zhalo
Yk what
I'm honestly glad lightfall came before this, it only seems right to end the light and dark trilogy on the seventh year of Destiny 2
I mean bungie is no stranger to changing the guns functionalities
They could bring Zhalos back and change it in some way
THE NUMBER SEVEN
WOOOOOO
I just wish they hadn't fucked LF up so badly
I feel like riskrunner kinda usurps it though
And it hadn't take the game nearly dying for them to put out something decent
Of course I thought the same about red death but I was completely wrong
There was so much they could've done with LF
Literally a thriving metropolis
Y’all think first curse could be a pick? Would be same as last time (whatever it did)
But the civilians are all fucking holograms
At this point I feel like it'd be funnier if they didn't add it
Neomuna is just VR Chat the city
And the Cabal had murdered everyone
But they thought that was 'too dark' for Destiny
I've seen so many people expecting it to be a secret exotic
So they came up with the CloudArk
Like legitimately what the hell were they thinking how did any of that make it into the game
so rooms full of people sleeping in vr?
Catalyst
They said the same thing about Halo Reach and look how that went
Lol
Utterly insane
Indeed
You're calling the DLC 'Lightfall'!
I should use last word again
Light should fall!!!!
You compared it to Infinity War!
They are correct tho
Destiny hasnt really gone into many dark routes in the ingame narrative
You find that shit in the lore
Make it fucking Dark
Like the mf Gambit Prime lore
Last word + yeehaw scout rifle
Red War did have a lot of people die and that was Y1
Last word and the new vex scout?
They didnt really bring much attention to that tho
Ghost literally goes "damn they didnt make it" and moves on
It'd be a huge change of pace if they added some of that, though
A huge opportunity to really shake up the player
Exactly
Fors?
With the Iron Lords getting puppeted and making noises
Wait really? Just the iron lords dying?
Well that depends on what direction bungie wants to take things
Gotta wait and see
SIVA used their corpses
Hmmm
oh yeah
SIVAAAAAAA ❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️
So were they just plain dead or were they still conscious at all
No one knows
Siva mentioned, must post
They left it vague
Also
Imagine thinking you'll get a peaceful release but then your body gets puppeted by a bunch of nanomachines
lmao
Man I should play D1
Did they confirm felwinter was an exo in d1?
Cause all the zombies used similar models but were human or fleshy looking
(But there’s also this theory of flesh grafting)
It's $40 on Xbox though, they won't let me just buy the base game
I honestly can't remember
base game alone is not worth it
But I think they did
cant even patrol zones man
No clue tbh
I think most Felwinter lore came in D2
Wait
Timur’s Stormtrance tears through a gang of Dregs as Felwinter stumbles through the shifting sands behind him, miles inland of what remains of the Arabian Shores.
“Where are you taking me?” Felwinter rushes to Timur’s side, his eyes jumping focus, anticipating another attack.
“You seem far too obsessed with these ‘Warminds’.” Timur stops and s...
Yeah
Was felwinter helm ind1? We got the artifacts too
He was confirmed an Exo
Pretty sure it was
Ah weird, either bungie was lazy with assets or there’s confirmed skin grafting
No shit?
??
I mean that like damn
oh
Tone doesn't convey well through discord unfortunately
Why not both?
if only
Cause my lore
Well, ROI was made by the live team, which was like a few dozen people at the time
So they probably did take shortcuts here and there
Indie company DlC
Nah

Idk man, red war d2 honestly hit hard when it released (loved it)
SK?
red war was fun
Shadowkeep
Shadowkeep
Most people do
Red War was honestly what convinced me to keep playing destiny
My mind kept going to KF
And then I learned about the lore and now it's been a complete time sink
Red War had it's low points storywise
massive
But they did a great job installing a sense of scale
That red war origin story felt nice, now too bad we had to go to white weapons right after
Real
That scene where you road the tunnel into the Almighty, with the sun in the background and that music blarring...
Wooo
Journey is just so good
Vuvuzuela
And then the scene with the Traveler waking up
Walking around the cliff as you see the city being sieged with Journey picking up in the background?
And the first look at the Pyramids
Asher my beloved
He was my first sunshot
That too
They avenger credits us with that reveal
Sunshot Graviton Lance and Riskrunner
Destiny 2's most epic scene with you travelling through the tunnel in the almighty to the end game. The music is created well for this
Didn’t they do similar with one of the raid lairs later?
I really hope they bring back the red war mission playlist
Couldn't be bothered to
Atleast timeline the almighty mission, bungie pls
Journey got me through so many late night essays
PLEASE
Yes
I can help with this
wait what
Also the traveler shard subclass unlock missions were very epic
So many missions need to be timelined
D1 warmind pvp map, (like jav 4 but different)
Ghaul or almighty, you can only choose one
Man fuck you, thats too hard of a choice
Smh my head

Guardians make their own fate so both
Or neither
I would say they might bring some back eventually
But I think they'll just use Frontiers as the new 'starting point' for new players
Especially if it's about leaving Sol
Frontiers as a Mass Effect style rpg so I can romance Failsafe please
Real af
Been there done that
Luzaku my queen ❤️
Technically, we've been courting Dul Incaru for a while now
How so
To Hive, killing each other is love

And we've been constantly murdering her for like 7 years
What about
