Like even if someone hasn't played destiny before they could 100% know on sight that this guy is the type of person to get mad at his team when he overextends and dies from his own mistake
This is me.
I think youāre just being lame and posting art without credit
Itās never my fault guys x
Aight moving on this is a dumb conversation
You know kev I completely believe you on that
š¤
Me when the random team mates donāt read my mind and push with me
Lore
This is lore
Actually shin malphur is an anime femboy my ubcle works for halo and he said so
My personal lore

This person pushes out straight bangers 24/7
Orin comics
Drifter comics
That one thanautonaut with the ever-bleeding hand
Wei Ning-Eriana-3 comics
my dads John Bungie bro get in line
Iām getting off
John bungie was let go
Damn
donāt worry Iāll get number 1 in the world and get his reputation back
Also yeah lore
Unironically
The people in his original town named his Ghost Tianshi/天使 (Chinese for angel) so they were likely at least Asian
Shin is a male Japanese name
And he straight up wrote messages for us in Japanese in the Lumina quest
what do we think of the political situation in the house of salvation currently ?
theyāre a bunch of braindead morons and Iām kind of sick of Eramis in total so I donāt really care
So how about that new expansion huh? I really liked the part right before [spoiler] where [person] went and [action]ed in the [place]
Libertarians
And what about the economic state of the last city?
I know who Iāll be voting
#VoteEvaLevante
Sheās not a politician
ong?

From Achilles Weaves a Coccoon we see that Namrask is specifically SELLING fabrics in the last city, so that rules out socialist and/or communist economic systems, as there would be no need to "sell" that which is collectively owned. So it's for sure some flavor of capitalism. However, considering the fact that humanity is in the process of recovering from an apocalypse, it would not shock me to learn that the city has programs in place to support less fortunate members of society, as opposed to the LA solution of criminalizing homelessness. You need as many hands on deck as possible, and starving hands don't help anyone.
What context do I need to understand Revelation? Shadowkeep CE? Reading it exploded my brain
are we canonacly solo for raids
playing beyodn light again and just noticed during the cutscene where drifter. elsie, and eris use stasis they have a neomuna silverfish in the end of the cutscene
is that ever explained?
make it up
your friends, life long companions, randomly picked
itās just always six
the friends we made along the way
They're intentionally left unknown
Same reason we're called the guardian
Our ghost name is ghost
loose plot thread that was never picked up again until neomuna was fully thought out
That we have no hints to our past
it wouldāve had more reasoning in BL but then Covid hit and a lot of things were scrapped
was the ziggurat a "gift" from the witness?
Why did Namrask go to Lakshmis grave?
Yes
Namrask became a better person and tried to atone
Lakshmi clung onto her hatred, although you can see where she was coming from considering she was there when Namrask burned down London
Namrask prolly feels guilty because he was a big part of the reason she hated Eliksni so much, leading to her death
what's the background of the pyramdi ship on europa?
The moon one belongs to nezarec iirc
the sun
bro
what happened to the two sweeper bots that Calus had during season of opulence?
The ergo sum lore tab is from the perspective of the traveller right?
sounds like it
How is Nimbus almost twice as tall as Osiris???
Dog Hive : )
Cloudstrider augments
What abilities can Psions have? (Such as the one in Vox Obscura, which can use Arc, Solar, and Void)
Does echoes act 1 start after the end of final shape? Before final shape? Or at the same time as final shape? Continuity wise
After
quests and the fact the Echoes stuff isn't out until reset tells us that it happens chronilogically after TFS finale
which was made much more clear than with Risen and Defiance
Thank you
Based on spoiler things a thing that happens post the Witness's death is going to be directly related to the events of Echos.
Did these launch with their respective dlc?
On the same date
yes
they were available from launch
undying and hunt started a week after, but the dates also didnāt really matter for them
Oh ok
actually it did for Undying
Undying started after WF GoS
the GoS completion was what led to the Vex invading the Moon
do y'all think we'll get to know even more of the traveller as the expansion/season progresses?
i'm still thinking about that voice-line in one of the trailers. "Be brave in dark places".
Did savathun have any lingering reaction from getting the shit kicked out of her by Saint over and over again or was she like "aight well that happened"
Probably not to mess with Saint.
Us killing her once was able to leave enough of an impress she immediately stopped gloating at the sight of us in a lore book
Crazy we aināt seen nothing of Xivu Arath and just like
Her army
Isnāt she on the cabal homeworld or some shit?
Wrathborn. Seraph with the singers mechanic that suppresses abilities and such until you killed the acolyte.
Sheās already moved on from that, but is still some ways away from us, most likely for tactical advantage and/or travel time takes a while - Cabal came to the system somewhat close to when she wrecked Torobatl and both races have space travel capabilities so thereās some other factor leading to her delay.
Like Eevee said, sheās vulnerable now that sheās been locked out of her Throneworld, so she should make some significant appearance sometime
No
There are still many unfinished narratives even with the Witnessā end, such as the Vex as a continued issue and whether they will be further developed as an adversary; the Hive, as we have completely annihilated a good majority of their pantheon and strongest leaders, with Xivu Arath as their last God and champion, as well as the continued existence of the Lucent Hive with Savathun still active and the Hidden Swarm on Luna; Fikrul, first Scorn, has been heading an effort to establish themselves as a genuine society after a number were influenced and/or created by the Witness and its resources, and we will eventually have to cross paths.
Very coincidentally these seem to be the themes of the upcoming Episodes - the replacement model for seasons
And the aphelion/aphelions ā¼ļø
rereading some old stuff from splicer, and god, shattered cipher still makes me sad. We never got a followup to Vriiksis's story, did we?
yknow what maybe amanda deserved to get blown up for getting an innocent eliksni killed
That is NOT the takeaway for that story
If anything they should have recognized that the Eliksni did not have a great understanding of human customs and terms and helped correct them
The escalation of overreaction is key in highlighting how the Endless Night was influencing others to act on their worse parts
yeah well that did not happen and they instead got merced then dissolved in acid which is kind of something that's weird to just gloss over
It was already covered in the end of the season
Like, by that point, it had been illustrated to Saint and the City that their fears and stigmas against the Eliksni - whilst with valid basis - was unfounded when House Light helped come to the defense of the Last City
I don't recall any kind of punishments towards the general people of the city who acted against the eliksni, it was the factions who had taken a lot of the flak
Thatās the whole narrative arc
(because 2/3 of the factions did create a lot of the hysteria)
Let the people stew in recognizing they were disgustingly awful for a moment. A small torment to itch in their mind and have to remind themselves āit was the Endless Nightā.
And again, Saint serving as the perfect example for this kinda sorta, heās very quick about making reparations but the implications from his legend as āThe Saintā being horrifying to the audience should also be applied to the Last City citizens and their own actions
Imagine remembering that time you hate crimed someone for a fairly small issue and having to live with that
personally I do not have any memories of something like that š
In due part because they, as leadership of the Last City, had abused their power to further an agenda that dispensed harmful rhetoric towards House Light. Any consequences faced by individuals has yet to be expounded upon, but I think Bungie is leaving it to playersā imagination because whilst simple, the whole season is themed around biases and discrimination
Thatās why Iām suggesting using imagination, it would be a shame for anyone here to actually have committed a hate crime
I find what you have said so so SO funny. Not because I'm laughing at you, but because I'm laughing at the people who aren't connecting the dots here. There are a lot of instances in Destiny where it actually represents something that is happening in the real world, and it's kinda funny sometimes to see those kinds of people play this game and not realize those takeaways for everyday life.

Real. My favorite one is the overarching narrative for the Light and Darkness Saga, in that the Witness and wherein related to it could be taken as representative of nihilistic thought that encourages acting on oneās worse instincts and to only look out for oneself. They also carry a heavy theme of the dangers of only recognizing the first main aspect of nihilism - that being the meaninglessness of existence - and why forcefully defining how life should be lived is not healthy. āGuardians make their own Fateā whilst like said by the dev team was an innocuous line, really defines what our side is fighting for: freedom to choose your own life and pursue your best idealized self.
Also something to be said of stillness being its solution to the pain of existence and how that parallels to nihilistic existentialism often driving individuals to give up and not make anything of themselves, not taking the opportunity to realize that without an inherent meaning to existence, they are free to set that meaning for themselves.
whats the name of mithirax daughter?
Can taken be perma killed then again we did kill Quira
If the witness was born of a civilisation betrayed by the traveler, and using the veil, then where does the veil come from?
And how did it go from the witnesses original homeworld to Neomuna
Same answer as where the Traveler came from

It was taken by the Black Fleet to Sol in order to establish the connection between it and the Traveler. Savathƻn stole it, and hid it on Neptune.
Next saga better be 'exposition and explanation'
Was savathun with the darkness up untill her original death?
I think Savathun offiacly betrayed the witness in season of arrivals
She begun plotting to use the light when oryx died
She betrayed the Witness and slew Nezarec in order to steal the Veil.
Was it the witness who originally converted the worms
Yes
Which them converted the 3 'hive' sisters?
Don't remember what the original race was called
š¦
Rhulk, technically.
Rhulk was originally part of another race too right
Damn how many races has the witness converted/ wiped out
Countless! Which is to say, we don't know. Perhaps we never shall, as it is an ancient being from a place far, far from Sol.
Likly in the millions
It caused the Whirlwind, yes. It is possible the Hive were also there, but yes.
So is it likely the fallen would also be wiped out / converted if they hadn't followed the traveler to sol
A fallen disciple would be awesome
Or is that just what the beyond light campaign was
That was essentially Eramis, though she failed in her task and so never actually became one.
Well, the Witness used the Veil to become stronger and amalgamate into what it is today, but it wields its own power.
Strand was unknown to the Witness before we used it in Lightfall.
Stasis was a power used by the Witness, however.
Stasis was given to / taught to us by the witnesses In an effort to get us to join right? Embrace salvation or whatever
Ye
Essentially, yes. Join us, succumb to corruption, look at the power I can give, so on so forth.
think of all the team wipes you could get with that cool new shatterdive, guardian..
House Salvation fell for that too
Well I mean, the witness wasn't necessarily lying
It promises it's own idea of salvation, and it did grant them power
Yeah
But many of house Salvation later became mindless vessels for the Witness like Wrathborne and scorn
What about taken
Was oryx the first granted the power to take by the witness?
That we know of
Did the Drifter hook up with Eris? (Scientific question)
Mabye

They've grown close.
As far as we know, yes, but there are Taken older than even Oryx himself.
Rhulk likly had command over taken before oryx
Are there any taken guardians
Apart from Sloane but she's kinda an anomaly
Not properly taken, and not under anyone's control
Unsure
Other than Sloane, no.
Damn oryx sleeping
If I were him there would be taken ghosts and guardians all over the place doing my bidding
Vex are just their own thing right?
Some worship the witness
Vex are their own thing, aside from the Sol Divisive, yes.
Uhhh, I dunno how to tell you this but uhh
What you mean the massive oryx looking fella in the taken king dlc was
oryx???
Who continues taking after oryx was delt with
Wut
Oh um
Savathun, the witness etc
Likely Xivu too
Naeem was the Lightbearer.
Did the Midnight Coup happend before or after the Collapse given how long lived the Cabal are
I don't think we can actually answer that. Hang on, let me check something.
š¤
Was the coup against calus?
Yes
Yes.
Gary
How long do cabal live.
one question at a time i need to delve into documents
Mabye it was before? Given the scout legions send to sol after the Collapse served Ghaul
Unknown, but potentially long. Calus is over a thousand years old.
Also, fun fact.
"Her ruling days were coming to a close. But the Praetorate, those canny slavemongers, they wanted her to remain on the throne so they could avoid the chaos of a succession. They put her on a ship modeled after a landwhale. Its mouth was a scoop, so it would never have to stop to refuel. They accelerated it to the edge of light and flew it in an endless procession around our worlds. So that the empress, fossilized in slow time, would never die. So that I would never assume the throne.ā
"What happened to the old empress?" I ask.
"Oh, she took her own life, I think. Who could go on living that way?ā```
Huh
Lmao
Ain't no way they used relativity to slow the aging of their puppet empress
It is likely before, but I can't find anything specific from a quick glance. I'll get back to you.
I have read too much lore the past few days and now desperately need this exotic:
Orinās Journey
War Hammer
I I I I I I I I I AM THE END OF ALL THINGS
Man season of the drifter lore is good
So what would have Oryx thought of the Witness's Final Shape?
probably that it would be too lame and uncool
Not a fan. Most of the Disciples or followers had different ideas of what the Final Shape was. To the Hive, it was whatever was strong enough to become immortal, that which could not be killed.
That was the idea, of course. Everyone was on board because they all thought the Witness was doing what they thought the Final Shape was.
Ironic that Calus, being one who knew fully well what the witness wanted, basically just thought it was uncreative
he never really wanted the final shape, he just wanted to be proven right about his morose outlook on life
he wanted to be āon the winning teamā but the moment that required him actually putting in effort he hated it
Can we discuss the dlc here without spoiler tags?
no
I haven't played The Final Shape yet and this is my prediction:
The Guardian finally sees the Witness: "It's Destiny time" charges towards him, applies debuff and wins
You cant even discuss tfs stuff here with spoiler tags.
Too bad, spoiler chat doesn't look like a place to discuss lore. Well maybe later then.
Spoiler chat is the place to discuss all spoilers, save for "is this roll good" on tfs guns
this includes tfs lore
Bug Receive The Prismatic
I'm really starting to get bored with your games and the extension bug
Or I do the first mission until I arrive where we have to interact with the tear
normally it's the E key on PC but I can't interact and that means I'm completely stuck
In addition I also tried to check the Destiny 2 game files from Steam and no problem.
I also deleted my characters and once again this did not solve the problem and when I joined a squad I did not receive the Prismatic
I'm starting to regret my purchase of this extension because it's a complete bug
Its fact that I pre-ordered this expansion for nothing and thank you for stealing Bungie that I did not take advantage of my purchase and finished this campaign
Bro is Jabba the Hutt
Several things wrong here. This is the lore channel. New content would go in spoiler channel. But also, we arenāt Bungie
Reporting bugs here is useless

Suspect someone of cheating?
š į“į“É“į“į“į“į“ ź°į“Źį“ š
NOTE: Per Bungie Do NOT post any information publicly regarding suspected cheating or you could be banned!
If you do it with a fireteam you have to do it again solo to get Prismatic, I think. If not, just wait for them to fix it.
You'd think the Cabal would be the type to brute force their way through everything, being a warmongering empire and all, but that's actually the Vex.
I have already sent my message on their forum but I don't think they will solve this problem because this is what it says
Are they stupid?
Prismatic Unlock Soft-Lock
It is possible to soft-lock yourself out of the Prismatic subclass within the old tower prismatic conflux.
If youve already unlocked it for a class, delete said class & try to unlock prismatic again you will not be able to as the prompt to interact with the conflux will be missing.
Buying the campaign skip will not fix this issue. Resetting the mission will not fix the issue. Pressing your binded transcend button will not fix the issue. Resetting the game will not fix the issue. Verifying the integrity of game files will not fix the issue.
THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE CURRENTLY
You will be completely soft-locked out of unlocking prismatic for that character & in turn be unable to progress the campaign.
This bug is repeatable and unfortunately easy to execute unknowingly.
Bungie is currently āinvestigatingā this issue, however I doubt weāll see a fix within this Tuesdays patch notes.
Bungie Help - After the raid completion/contest this should be one, if not, the biggest concern you have for the Final Shape DLC. Currently there is hundreds of players currently who cannot progress the campaign & are starting to refund their expansion due to this bug.
Thanks
the fact is that I bought this extension in a vacuum
None of this belongs in this channel dude
That sounds like a Reddit post from someone who's biased against Bungie and tries to paint them as apathic.
And what even is the bug?
This is a lore channel. We discuss the story and universe of the world. It is also a fan discord, it isn't connected to Bungie. Also, it's a new DLC, so they'll obviously have some kinks to iron out.
There is nothing we can do, we have no reason to read it, and it's in the wrong channel even if we did.
Also, this is about Prismatic, so it wouldn't belong outside of #1247252842465460225 anyway.
This also isnt a bungie discord
completley unofficial, no one here can do anything
No it's not a spoiler I have this problem on this game
Spoiler channel is for all new content. This is discussion of new content
We canāt help you here
This is a fan discord's lore channel. It doesn't matter whether you have a problem or not.
Damn, nobody thinks my gigantic brain prediction is correct
great welcome
What do you want from us lmao
We directed you to the appropriate channel already
What do you expect from us? You're in an irrelevant channel talking about a problem we can't fix.
Wait did you
Post a gameplay bug in the LORE DISCUSSION channel?
Just argue it's a part of the story š¤·š¾
Lol
When Stasis got its first major nerfs, there was a lore entry explaining exactly that this was to ensure more Guardians wanted to use it more
Hefned
Hefnd
Neat
Real, guardian lore
Broski really out here mad that he unlocked Prismatic on a class then deleted the class and broke the game. All choices made by dude, unforced by bungli
No u get it at the end of the mission I had that problem on my titan ( I only read like the first 4 sentences)
What's the lore reason for missiles falling down on europa, around cadmus ridge
Itās not missiles. I think the idea is itās debris from the Morningstar orbital station after it got blown up and dropped from orbit
Man I love this game's lore
I can just pick any exotic and proceed down a rabbit hole
Yep
I touched Malfeasance by accident
Then Drifter, Dredgen, Shin, ...
it just kinda kept going from there
Actually how we suggest people get into the lore, just saying you want to get into the story as a whole is a big task, but growing from a little entry and seeing how it sprawls out and webs to other entries and events gets the ball rolling
I also now have a exotic I want in the game that I'm very sad is not
I feel like there will be more
A lot more
Please Bungie, I just want Orin's Warhammer
Just this big fuckoff, gravity hammer lookin ass thing, with I I I I I I I I I AM THE END OF ALL THINGS written across it
I think sheās a Solar Titan, so the Burning Maul is your pick
Would be cool if there were an exotic āGlaiveā thatās a hammer and modifies your Burning Maul
yeah she crippled Xur with a solar hammer
or, well, not that word
permanently vertically challenged him
Is Zavala an awoken?
yeah
there were loads of awoken that just left to go join humanity
in addition to that, guardians are resurrected with no memories of their mortal lives
Was there a reason or did they just feel like it
any awoken who died and became a guardian wouldnāt have any direct connection to the awoken army, and would instead just go down to earth
all the awoken under Maraās rule left their little safe pocket dimension specifically to help humanity
some took it even further and went on their own, while others stayed to live under Maraās rule
so either genuine wanting to help or just loyalty to Mara
Awoken Guardians are loyal to the City and the Vanguard, not the Awoken
Some become loyal to the Awoken again like Orin from earlier, but yes strictly speaking a Lightbearer Awoken doesnāt automatically make them part of the Awoken communities outside of the Last City
Most likely dumb question. But was nezarec ever at any point a lightbearer?
No
Ty
Quick question. I just found out that The seasonal quests for Shadowkeep is not available any more š¦
does the final quests bridge the gap between next xpac?
Is destiny 2 about to end since the sword of the guardian dying event got released ?
no
it wasnāt much of an event, and destiny 2 isnāt ending, also that wasnāt a real sword on the grave
Bop
Can and how do Exoās taste food?
Golden age tech and uhhh, tongue nerves or something?
Well thank you for your help xD
Maybe might come back, they have been reprising old exotic quests like Whisper, Zero Hour, and what not
But Quests are generally side-narratives that are connected but not necessary to the main seasonal stories
For instance, the Malfeasance quest
Thank you! Oki I hope starting next xpac wont be confusing
i am trying to replay as much of story as I can
Technically rounded out the Gambit season, reestablished Drifterās paranoia and his specific trust in you, and a little bit of dabbling in the Darkness
Shadow is kind of a waste of an expansion, the only reason its still in the game is because its the first introduction to the black fleet
If youād like we have a summary of most expansions, and Ishtar Collective has a pretty comprehensive timeline of the Destiny universe
#šlore-discussion message
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/timeline/
Hush you
Im right
Still, yer too dour
Too sour even
thanks x
Both of you
I think i have finished Shadowkeep and it felt..
like it ended abruptly?
or wasnt an end
All it was some mysterious voice spoke to us
and thats it
dont know who they are , all they said is that they will be our salvation
Arrivals is important as caps off that expansion yearās story and leads into the next
The Seasonal Stories matter more than the exotic quests and such, and now Iām realizing that thatās what you meant earlier
No worries, yeah
All seasonal content was removed once the next expansion was released
I guess I need to find a good lore video online
Now Bungieās moving towards an Episode format
before I get to next xpac
Both the summaries in the pins and the timeline from Ishtar cover the seasonal stories and their major beats
I will see if I can find a lore video on each season
There is also the Destiny Lore Vault and Bungieās own compilations of dialogues and quest steps on Youtube
whilst The Final Shape is going on (or ig done now), where are The Nine and what are they up to?
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Theyāve been majorly absent since Arrivals, when they opened up the Prophecy dungeon to us
Which would be fair because trying to fuck about with our efforts to save existence would threaten their very own existence

"Destiny Lore Vault" is a channel designed primarily for archiving secondary sources to support and provide other community-fueled sites like Ishtar Collective and Destinypedia with sources. We have two main goals: we prioritize content that features alternative dialogue and content that will eventually become unavailable via the Destiny Content...
Us lorechat members are also available to help most lore questions too if you need
Is there a Lore Youtuber or some you could recomend?
The black garden lore sounds interesting
Byf is most peopleās go to, also Myelin
Ishtar Collective also has topic pages on specific places, events, individuals, and more
Meromorphic is also good if you want to listen to the lorebooks in their full form with all the details as audiobooks
yay ā¤ļø
I would also cautiously suggest Destinypedia, it is notorious for having the many markings of most mid-tier fan maintained wikis in that they are susceptible to errors, but otherwise a good way to source entries to further research topics in Destiny
You can use it, just make sure to search up the referenced entry in Ishtar or Destiny Lore Vault transcripts
Itās powerful enough to make beyond light
TFWiki or BioSector01, Destinypedia is not
(Boffum good wikis and TFWiki is very funny)
TO REITERATE, Destinypedia is some fuckery that you should never trust outright but it helps with finding related lore entries and references in a pinch sometimes

quick question, ive been trying to catch up on my lore but i must have missed this. how is the witch queen back?
i did skip out this section in byfs 10 hour lore video. so its my own fault

What is the veil??
She was resurrected in Season of the Witch
We needed her to tell us how to get through the portal to follow the Witness, but she would only come out if we dealt with Xivu. Eris was sorta tricky about this and in the finale of that season, she demanded Immaru resurrect SavathĆ»n just so she could immediately kill her and gain all of SavathĆ»nās stored power in tithes. Then she banished Xivu from her Throne and SavathĆ»n was resurrected again
thanks, and thank you for taking the time to answer!
Itās essentially the Darkness equivalent of the Traveler in a sense
The Witnessā species were blessed with Light but eventually they sought Darkness which lead them to the Veil
who is Aisha?
A Hunter who was/is on Shayuraās fireteam. Assuming you know who Shayura is
I think sheās a Hunter anyway
is she the one who started to perma kill guardians after they started to use stasis right ?
Actually no, that was Shayura, Aisha and Reed-7 tried to prevent her from doing so
I think they were talking about Shayura then
Thatās Shayura yeah. Fortunately she got some therapy since and she even went back out into the field to confront the Witness itselfā¦that unfortunately did not end so well
She, Aisha and Reed got sliced
And more unfortunately, Reedās Ghost also got sliced
Aisha and Shayuraās Ghosts survived to be able to rez the both of them
that's them?
The Witness shows itself to ancient Buddhists
Yeah
Might be an actual influence in the design process for the Witness, but there was no contact with the Pyramid forces until maybe centuries after our current time, more specifically the K1 Anomaly being discovered on Luna and it guiding Clovis to Europa where he found Clarity Control - one of those statues of a veiled lady in the Pyramid ships
If this is Final Shape content, wait til the 11th
Until then #1247252842465460225
Fineeeeee
Why would the Witness not slice all three Ghosts?

What can Psions do? (Apart from normal psionic things like telepathy and telekinesis)
They may simply have not been materialised at the time
They can inflict psionic visions unto people
That falls under telepathy
Does Golden Gun create a gun from Solar energy, or infuse Solar energy into a gun?
I'd imagine that's probably the next big thing alongside the backstory of the vex, although we might get answers to that this season so who knows.
Yes
It can be both
I think Shin Malphur puts his solar energy into a gun ?
There are more instances of guardians focusing their solar energy into guns, but they aren't called "Golden Guns". They're more described as being powered with the light, still just as powerful but just a distinction from Shin Malphur popularizing the term of a golden solar handcannon.
Ana did a Golden 18 Kelvins or whatever itās called
Oh yeah the sidearm
Titans when they learn they can make Golden Rocket Launcher:
Wow, once more the Exo gets fridged /s
They're the fluid that you see in their chests.
what is strand
Their origins are unknown iirc
the origin given to them in Unveiling is the most likely
even if the book itself is heavily allegorical, a lot of the info in it regarding the Vex lines up with other lore
Yeah ik that but how are they related to the darkness
What are the origins of strand
Thatās confusing to me
the Vex aren't linked to Darkness per say
Bro play lightfall
the Sol Divisive are a specific subcollective of Vex that worship the Witness and the Darkness by proxy
The Vex are the perfect practitioners of the Darkness's principles
Uhh i mean the guardian is kinda the origin of Strand. But Strand itself is just a physical representation of psychic energy
like everyone else
So they just do whatever the witness wants them to do
Strand is a byproduct of the Veil
well, our ability to harness strand is a byproduct of the Veil
ya
Arenāt they all just one being though like one hive mind
Strand is already present, but the Veil allowed us to see and interact with it on Neomuna which allowed us to harness Strand everywhere else
they aren;t actually
but they are easily confused for one
you see, each individual Vex operates so perfectly in line with the others that they give off the appearance of one
but there are cases where this isn;t the case
In simple terms, the Vex serve the Vex, but the witness isn't going to really turn down extra forces to help its goal.
for instance, Nessus Vex look down on Virgo Prohibition (Mars Vex) because they are ineffective at their job which is to repel the Cabal stationed there
bro that campaign was not memorable enough
Thatās dope af
Fair canāt blame you
and the majority of Vex are wary of the Sol Divisive
But the end goal of the vex is unclear then ?
oh also, the VEx aren;t really the milk either
the Vex are reductive patterns contained within the milk
They just formed an alliance because of similar goals then
WHY DOES IT ALWAYS SEMICOLON WHEN I WANT APOSTROPHE
Essentially yeah
I don't really see this one, it feels to me that the final shape described in unveiling and the one the witness works towards are completely different
We know so little about the vex damn
to be more accurate, the Sol Divisive believed that serving the Witness will get them closer to fulfilling the Vex goal
the ultimate goal of the Vex is to turn everything else into Vex
pretty much universal domination
New episode prob. gonna go over that so
Ah I see
Still would be cool to get deeper into their origin and such
and again, important to mention, the Sol Divisive are the only group of Vex that actually serve the Witness
Vex as the final shape is described as a hyper darwinist apex of existence that exists because its the only thing that deserves to exist but the final shape of the witness seems to be closer to just complete stasis of everything
Destiny 3 main threat being the vex would be cool
I think the idea of total domination of creating something in a specific image is the connection the Sol Divisive made
That's how I see it at least
I see
personally, I consider it more like the Sol Divisive want to attain paracausality
the main weakness the Vex have is that they cannot simulate paracausality
That too
Sol Divisive takes a different approach because paracausality is a hard counter to the Vex but they both have the same goal
That being making everything Vex and Vex simulation
there's also my favorite set of lroe excerpts regarding the Vex'
And what was the black heart then
[Message Link](#šlore-discussion message) to #šlore-discussion
The Vex are, so far, simply curious. But Vex curiosity always leads to Vex transformation [...]
The Vex will not rest until every star has been crushed into a black hole and every newborn cosmos filled with more Vex. And in the unending array of their enslaved cosmos, they will simulate all possible pasts, and fill those with Vex, so that all things that have ever lived or might ever live will experience infestation and consumption and torment by the silica nightmare.
And in those devoured simulations, the simulated Vex will use our flesh as hosts for yet more nested universes full of yet more nested copies of us eternally tormented by yet more Vex.
An infinite regression of pain and madness inflicted upon every possible version of us in every possible world. Not because they hate us, or fear us, or want to punish us. But because they are indifferent and curious, and they will do every possible thing to us in every possible way.```
a failed copy of the Veil
Basically yeah

the Hezen Corrective sought to use energy from the Black Heart to power the Vault of Glass
Dawg yāall are just making me ask more questions
lmaooo
they then wanted to use the Vault of Glass to essentially do what the Witness was trying to do with the Pale Heart
Vex are just milk creatures that have different goals based on their groups
I actually know way less than I thought and I already thought I know nothing
oh no, they all have the same goal
Just different approaches
they just do different things to try and reach/help to reach that goal
Ah that makes sense
But why is the failed veil a lump of darkness
And why are they praying to the failed thing and not the real one
because the Veil is the Dark equivalent to the Traveler
The veil is the opposite of the Traveler when talking about light and dark
the Witness didn't know where the real one was
at that time
YO REALLY ?
Yeah because Savathun hid it ?
the veil is the ultimate source of darkness in the universe
Damn when did they reveal that
the vex were given the opportunity to study it so they did, and the sol divisive then tried to copy it
well you see, the Witness didn't figure out its location until it subdued the Traveler at the start of Lightfall
it could never match up to the full power of the full, but it did hit two key markers
the very existence of the black heart was detrimental to the traveler, meaning there was some sort of link
and it also was a limitless reservoir of darkness they could use
and the Witness was secretly trying to figure out where the Veil was throughout the entirety of the WQ year
And savathun hid it on neomuna
But Savathicc hid it yeah
which was told to us in the raid
she just hid it on Neptune, where the Ishtar colony including Maya Sundaresh found it
Thatās actually a cool story why didnāt they tell it in the fucking dlc about the veil š
they built Neomuna around it while they studied it
then the Vex (not Sol Divisive) hid Neomuna
so they could try and learn about the Veil unhindered
Ah yeah she stole it from Nezarec right
yes
I thought Neomuna hid themselves because they didn't want to be found by the Warlords on Earth?
that too, but the Vex also helped in hiding the city
The vex helped ?
the Neomuni just wanted to make sure no records of Neptune colonies remained on Earth
indirectly, not a conscious act of them
- when they had their excursion into Oryxās Throneworld some long time ago, they discovered simulating entities to worship the worms around them allowed them to accrue a bit of Ascendent Energy
- they then applied this to the Black Heart and used it to power/construct the various ontological weapons they have built that have threatened existence as we know it, such as the Vault of Glass, which had the ability to rewrite history within its physical confines
more of a byproduct of the vex wanting to hide too
the Vex used simulation fuckery to make Neomuna hidden so they can, as I said, observe the Veil unhindered
Does Soteria factor into this?
Ah I see
a fragment of Soteria remained on the first colony ship to reach Neptune
it was the reason why the ship reached it in the first place
Yes, but did it being based on Ishtarās research of the Vex influence the surrounding Vex to help camouflage Neomuna?
And the veil is more of an object because you can just move it around it doesnāt have a will like the traveler ?
Uncertain as of now
So far the Traveler has shown to have individuality at some level and the Veil is kinda just a thing with roots
So the darkness isnāt even that dark itās just what you make of it
Pretty much
Didnāt they say it was like the manifestation of conscience
And light was your will ?
That's how Chioma Esi described it yes
She has spoken and appeared to others, so she is demonstrably sentient and a living being
Ya
Thatās why bungie said the light and dark saga is over cause it aint even about light and the dark doesnāt exist
the light and dark saga was about the struggle spurred on by the witness
Yeah its more just about the Veil and the Traveler atp
The light and dark were just blanket terms thrown around
itās not like weāll never have traveler or veil stories again
Bingo, THANK YOU. You have no idea how difficult it was trying to get this point across to some people
#šlore-discussion message
Groovy
So know we gotta figure out what the traveler and the veil really are and xivu and savathun are up to
The fallen are pretty much just chillin same with the cabal
Thank God we have moved on from the dark ages of Beyond Light theorizing
Uhhh if we're talking about house of light and Caital's army then yeah we cool
not if Aunor has anything to say about it
actually has she even been referenced in four years
Arenāt the scorn just mindless dark Ether infused fallen
yeah they kinda just silly
theyāre beginning to grow their own sense of individuality and culture
which is concerning for multiple reasons
means there's some kind of leader ?
especially with the fact some of them just get back up after being killed, with zero outside intervention
see scorn just silly
sure, Fikrul is still out there, but theyāre developing
silly little guys
they started having fight clubs in Lost
these were the same scorn that were stuck in the dreaming city loop for like three years
theyāve had no contact with the outside world
and they developed
they already are crabs
literally they are
Money money money
weāve just moved on from vague insectoid theming, thatās helmed by the hive now
fallen are literally crustacean adjacent
Arenāt they more like spiders
they will become the ultimate lifeform
Itās been mainly Fikrul whoās been doing this, isnāt that the implication of his involvement with the lore in the Warlord dungeon?
nothing about them is like spiders except for the guy who calls himself Spider because his helmet is shaped like a spider
And his body is kinda like a spider if you squint
Isnāt fikrul dead
no
heās just fat and sits in a chair
the chair has legs but they donāt even work
itās just a hammock
Basically comes back to life every time due to Uldrenās wish; the Strike where we kill him references this multiple times
Yeah I never got that
Big rotund body with a head, then six limbs kinda
I just thought they were yapping
what is there to miss
the description of the strike references him coming back from the dead
all of the dialogue is about him wanting revenge and that heāll keep coming back
Yeah but he never did nothing so I just assumed hes dead
Yeah Fikrul wanted to recruit the fallen that were from the House of Kings, who died in the castle.
again, the scorn in lost has zero outside world contact
Also yeah Fikrul tried to steal an egg during Season of the Wish
Fikrul has them ādevelopedā but theyāre all solely focused on his teachings
So the one we fought during that final shape mission was the real fikrul
they revere him as father, only seek to further his interests, and have no other reason for existing
no
Damn
Still wouldnāt Fikrulās camp be the bigger movement in recent events?
Also careful, no FS stuff til the 11th
ope

almost all the scorn weāve fought barring WR have been black fleet scorn
theyāve been left to their own devices and joined the witness willingly
theyāll keep going no matter what
Fikrul has no control over them
I think Fikrul might become that symbol for them though. I mean we still have Echoes to go through for the Scorn in the background to develop
heās not really letting them develop is the point
he keeps them stagnant with his incredibly skewed worldview and textbook definition insanity
the fact theyāre not mindless husks isnāt much of an achievement
isn't there a chance he develops too? im just spitballing
the purple-wearing black fleet scorn are actually becoming individual
yeah they have purple ripped clothing iirc
Never noticed that
heās still just hung up on Uldren
heās been waiting for him ever since forsaken actually
All the same to me š“
he promised to return and heās just waiting
itās all their armor too
ya
Yeah
That feels extremely counterintuitive to the entry for Buried Bloodline
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/buried-bloodline
Shallow graves give way to old vendettas and hungry claims.
ā
Fikrul stands on the bridge of a seized Ketch. Ravagers keep watch over a handful of Eliksni that remain to pilot the vessel. Five heavily armored Scorn kneel before Fikrul, their heads bowed in reverence. Fikrul steps forward.
"Dark rumors whisper from the Dreaming City. The Reef hu...
I am referencing buried bloodline
they are not developing
changing from non-mindless corpses is not the point
they are still just subservient puppets with no individuality
Fikrul is still hung up on Uldren and his mission to just keep raising scorn
there is no development happening
the scorn that have been with him the longest are capable of speech and naturally loyal, but thatās the extent of it
he is not leading them to a future filled with new developments
the scorn who joined the black fleet willingly, crafted their own special uniforms, and participate in ritual combat are developed
'"We serve only Scorn!" Fikrul raises his staff above his head. "We will bring them home. Open their minds, as I have for you. As I will for all Scorn!"'
they have their own aspirations and motivations
Respectfully I disagree, especially with the emphasis on recognizing the history which came before them.
'"Dark rumors whisper from the Dreaming City. The Reef hunts us. The Darkness claims us. And our father is not returning. But even without Uldren Sov, new Scorn still rise. Old Scorn still live, unseen." Fikrul waits for silence before looking beyond the five armored Scorn knights to the greater horde that gathers.'
And adding to it by increasing their numbers
yeah it seems like fikrul is done waiting for uldren
The connotation of the entry is Fikrul emphasizing that they should have pride in themselves as Scorn
thatās always been his motivation
he sees scorn as the natural evolution of Eliksni
So heās not even a bad guy no more they are just chilling
Bruh
and also kill all of humanity for killing his scorn and Uldren
probably just the traveler as well thatās the general trend
with how much he despises servitors I canāt imagine heās a fan of what theyāre all meant to represent
So heās just the angry generic whipe out all humans villain now
heās different because heās literally insane
judging by the fact one of the episodes is focusing on him heās not big bad material of course
but thereās more than enough to make a worthwhile narrative out of it
I see
just imagine how heād react at all to crowās very existence
prob just become more insane tbh
takes it as an insult to uldren
Iām exited for the reset
This final year of destiny is going to be real nostalgic looking back
not the final year
Was browsing through a sparrow to equip and I found this one: https://www.ishtar-collective.net/items/m3-d1-angelos
"I've spent years studying, just for a shot at saving someoneāat keeping them alive. Then you watch a Guardian get blown up and put back together without missing a word in their sentence." āUnknown Last City medical responder
It can still be viewed as him making something for Uldren to be proud of but itās much his own action
Sorrry late response
Wdym
Destiny will continue, it's just the end of this part of Destiny
Yeah but destiny 2
Very likley
but destiny as a franchise will still go
Obv
also no
You actually think they are going to just keep on doing destiny 2 once act 3 is over ?
Could be just them making sure they are keeping d3 a secret
I doubt it that they're working on D3
Considering Marathon and the other game they're making
Uhhh go to #1247252842465460225
Sorry
Ahhhh okay
I think itās more likely they continue with the Episodes and any other additional Destiny titles will be side games, like Reach or Spartan Assault/Strike for the Halo franchise
I would highly doubt they would make D3
my fav raid lore is vog
I have yet to EVER do a raid
VoG is a pretty good one to start with
If u can count to 7 u could do vog honestly
What's the cryo capsule where you get the anomalous object (Forerunner)?
A halo reference (anniversary be like that)
Which Eliksni rank is directly above Vandal?
Is Shayura still running around after she escaped during Splicer?
probably Captain
Ok, thanks
Itās a recreation of Master Chiefās cryopod
Would an information subclass be Light or Dark?
define information
The concept of information, what is theorized to be stored inside black holes
well, Void deals with gravity and such
and Void is classified as Light
so maybe a Light subclass
And the Darkness equivalent of information is memory
do you think the player guardian could beat saint-14 in a fist fight?
Saint has had dreams where he fought us
similar to the DSC dreams
I think he said he doesn;t always win
thatās wild
hold on
For the first few weeks, instead of battle, he faced single opponents in duels: Osiris, Marin, Zavala, Anaāeven the Guardian who rescued him from the Vex. No matter whom he fought, he would use all his energy and Light in the fight and lose every time. Flat on his back, he would look up at the tower and know that someone was watching from within.
keep in mind that these are merely dreams so they might not reflect reality
Maybe, but not in a headbutt fight
Is your guardian a titan
If yes, then I think we win
Otherwise we lose
is nez still alive?
not confirmed
however it is in the realm of possibility
does The Witness have a mouth?
We've never seen one. I imagine it could form one if it so desired.
How else would it eat cheese
are āthe architectsā a thing in lore?
the symbol when you get the death message from them is very similar to the shapes on the face of the dread
i dont have a screenshot cause im pretty sure the symbol changed with the final shape update from what i can tell
No. It mostly represented physics deaths, at least it used to. In Halo, the same mechanic was death by The Guardians. Obviously that wouldn't work here.
maybe im just stupid
thatnmakes sense
than ku !!

and how crossing the infinite forest equals to having infinite speed?
Do I have to watch all 22 minutes of this to answer your questions
As for the Infinite Forest, that sounds like incredibly stretched logic, but at a glance I'd suggest it's because we experienced time differently within it. That is to say, we spent more time within it than what passed without it.
I've skimmed through that dude video and saw that most of his feats are illogical non-sense from VSBattle
Any good way to read the lore for destiny?
Well, you've got 95% of the written stuff here on the Ishtar Collective.
https://www.ishtar-collective.net
I know what I will be reading for about 3 weeks
Thank you

You may also find this useful if you want to go by topic

Do characters class them as exotics or just armor to them
While Exotic Engrams do exist in lore, it's just armour.
The answer is yes, as it's still a notable target for others. Take the Red Legion. They had no connection to the Darkness, they still came for it and us.
#1247252842465460225 I forgot about the spoiler ban
Yes, which is why I was particular about my wording in response.
Red Legion are barely a blip on the map, they're either pirates/mercs, shadow legion clones, or caiatl's loyalists
Not even a blip tbh
Does Nessus even have Red Legion still?
Right, but they showed up in the first place and were the perfect example of what the Dead Orbit feared.
Lore wise, no. In game, yes.
Cause lightfall altered a lot of Red Legion to Shadow Legion so I was wondering cause I haven't gone to Nessus patrol zone since Witch Queen
Ah
But it would be a nice thing to change, yes
Those patrol zones suck, I miss Mars
what the heck is a mars
Hell I sorta miss Mercury purely for it's compact size
Bungie trying to remember they still have Red War, CoO, Warmind, Forsaken, Leviathan, Scourge and Menagerie in the vault
I'd sacrifice VoG, Prophecy, Crota, Dares and Battlegrounds for Leviathan, Menagerie, Mars strikes, Mercury strikes and Forsaken strikes
I miss dunking worms
Hell I wish we could just install a
and uninstall campaigns if Bungie is so pressed about space and loadtimes
Itās not that simple
I'd wish dragon for it to be.

'twas more about rewriting the code for the engine updates than space
Lalala can't hear your complex rational arguements, still want impossible to bring back dlc and maps
Jk
The eliksni are cool :3
has anyone decoded the dread's language? I remembered that Bungie mentioned in the ViDoc that what they say is translatable
Nope! We're working on it.
What a cooncedence, i was just looking at the eliksni language lmao
https://youtube.com/watch?v=aA9oSO-HLQw&si=M8JSWKimV4lI-HIZ
I am telling you the earliest fanmade video for destiny (before it was ever revealed) is extremely creepy
dude, #1247252842465460225
i am glad you recognise it as fan made
we have had people in here obsessing over it before haha
Fan made but still unsettling as hell lol
Gives me flashbacks to lore of the Bungie Halo games, especially the Halo 3 Terminals
I'm not surprised, the guys who made it were old school Bungie fans
Some even dating back to Marathon and PiD
are there any hints at a 3rd darkness subclass in the lore?
There wasn't for the last two.
I remember when everyone was putting those red subclass leaks out lmao
also another 9 question, are the 9 just like popcorn eating cosmic identities that watch the flow of things and give them lil nudges when it's not going in the direction they want?
I forgot the nine even existed
I'm not too deep into lore since the lore tabs confuse me lmao
Dunno where to start properly
Mostly they're selfishly seeking a way to define their existence and become physical and independant
i can help with that, in a very simple manner
Okayy
If you want to learn about the Nine, the lore book Dust is the way to go. I recommend the entire thing, but if you just want the specific description instead of the full context, then read this particular page from it.
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/the-nine
ā
I am.
I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I am I.
At first this is all the loop of dust can calculate. It is the hardest thing in the universe for the dust to make a loop at all, because, like a gust of wind or a river, it was only meant to move one way. For a mind to function, the end of one thought must alter the beginning of the ne...
I'm sure I can trust the lore gremlin
so is drifter bffs with the 9 or do they just like that he's different and gave him gambit?
I'll take a look, but I meant I want to learn the entire lore, but I'm not sure if there's a good point to start or if I should just randomly read through it lol
If only drifter could have made them kill the Witness lmao
The Final Shape just becomes a 2 minute cinematic
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/book-ecdysis
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/book-dust
Well here's this, then
Both of these are excellent reads - perhaps try Ecdysis first
Believe it or not, but they're not paracausal beings
And given what the Witness did to the Noesis, they may well have been killed if they intervened directly
also is there a short thing on what the veil actually is
like I don't feel it was ever properly explained, is it a dark matter traveller or something?
I suppose a simple way to explain it is as a... Darkness counterpart of the Traveler. It may, perhaps, have even been the other half of a whole with it.
Whereas the Traveler is an independent being that manipulates the physical world, the Veil is a *probably not sentient being that is deeply connected to the realm of the mind.
Osiris theorized it to be one half of a larger hole but nothing really supports it
Well there's the fact that they can be combined into one as per Ahsa
In full honesty, we mostly suggest that anyone getting into the lore just start with one thing that interests them and try to explore it within the lore. Trying to take on the task of understanding ALL the lore is daunting in of itself, but youāll naturally get there if you just pick a topic and read through it and find other related topics through your reading
Alright that's some handy advise, thank you!
hiya folks. I'm a returning player, haven't really played since Witch Queen. I'm excited to delwe back into the lore but as expansive as it is, I really need some help here. Is there some sort of timeline I could follow ? Akin to the one on the official website, just with actual depth of detail ? Or is there like a YT series I could binge through ? I know Byf is creator in that regard but he hardly uploads in a chronological order. And chronological order is what Im looking for ATM. Much obliged beforehand.
I hope with the next season we actually get more info on the vex
I can't wait for more vex shit

and if you ask something stupid like "What would vex milk taste like and what cookie paring would go well with it?" they'd probably still answer
I found vex milk at the store actually
tastes citrusy
sweet tho
Is this the newer one or the older one? He did release a vid the week leading to Final Shape release thatās 10 hours long
ez I'm an exo anyway B)
We also have a summary of the expansions and seasons up in the pins, done by our lovely Dovadah, as well as the Ishtar websiteās timeline
it's the 10 hour one
you've not said the cookie paring
I haven't tried those
I drank all the vex milk first
maybe some kind of citrus cookie
that would have been my next question, thank you
The Vex just aren't interesting enough right now though. I hope they develop Vex to become more individualized and allow them to develop personalities somehow, I think that would be neat
I mean we really don't know much abt them
I want more stuff like the vex's past
still don't know where they came from
or what they really are
We do actually have a taste. Sea Salt/Salt water. Sooo do with that what you will for best cookie pairing

God I canāt wait for the 11th the fucking Journey Ahead video VIBDICATES ME
I can, Iām going to a party today
who is Ceto? they are mentioned in the lore tab for Red Death Reformed.
So no info? Ceto is the lover of the guy who reassembled red death and infused solar in it, Ceto is dead and the guy wants revenge.
Yep thatās it
why are ppl saying maya sunderash is in echoes act 1
thought she died on neomuna in the ishtar days which was idk how long ago
Do you know of the 227?
Gonna have to wait for tomorrow to discuss
whoops my bad
To further explain, the 227 were 227 copies of Maya Sundaresh, Chioma Esi, and another guy who were being simulated in the Vex frame that the og three were researching. They were emancipated and went on excursions throughout the Vex Network to scout and report their discoveries back to the Ishtar Collective. You are correct in that the original Maya Sundaresh has long since passed, but those copies are still theorized to be around, in fact Vault of Glass lore suggests some of those copies were in there too
No pb, also canāt wait to discuss soon
Thereās also the random Ishtar monument found in starcrossed
i had no idea about any of that
do they have the same will/persknality
thatās why theyāre copies
if vex are good at one thing, itās replication
all those gosh darn predatory ai generation practices
They're extremely similar to each other but they started diverging the moment they were copied
227.59
You lose Maya.
You mourn. The thought of all the other Mayas out there doesn't help. They weren't the Maya you'd puzzled with over living basalt flowers, a world with seventeen moons, a continent that Shim had sworn up and down was sixteenth-century Australia and that Duane-McNiadh couldn't be dissuaded from calling Pangaea. You'd found a simulation with a city where you discovered a jewelry store, picked out a necklace, brought it home to her, and wished her a happy pseudo anniversary.
Maya didn't like bracelets, said they always fouled her work. Her hair had been getting shaggy again and was due for a trim. She could never decide whether or not to grow it out. She laughed at you lifting weights to maintain simulated muscle, but she spotted for you all the same.
There are other Mayas out there, layers of them, all the way up to the original, wherever she is. You hope they're doing well. But that doesn't stop you from missing this Maya, missing whatever arguments and discoveries you'd have shared in the rest of the lifetime you'd promised to one another.
Shim and Duane-McNiadh pull you up from beside Maya's marker. A basalt lily rests on top of it, petals thin enough to let light through.
You go on.
how dangerous is Maya Sunderash? like is she a threat to us?
Any amount of influence over the vex network is incredibly dangerous
The only reason vex arenāt constantly spilling out and invading is because they just view it as inordinate
The invasion of the last city during splicer was due to Quriaās lasting influence
anything forcing them into immediate action is very bad
apart from scorn and vex are there any factions that we havent teamed up with?
depends on what youād consider a faction
Taken as a whole, because yknow
Red and shadow legion
Any of the fallen houses besides light/judgment
all hive
actually probably races rather than factions
i thought we did at some point?
arcborn?
enslaved race of sentient arc energy in Calusā Levi
he had us use them as living batteries during his menagerie
they probably werenāt big fans
oh
Anyone seen the Episodes trailer?
Just asking first since I might spoil and I don't want to
Were Uldren and Jolyon a thing? They were, at the very least, close friends, but I was reading Gifts and Bargains and found this:
The prince and his partner (Second Gift, Gifts and Bargains)
A secret overheard in the palace between Uldren, Mara's brother, and Jolyon Till, his Rachis. It feels like raspberries and quartz. It smells like the Divalian Mists. A fine secret to share and never speak out loud. (Third Gift, Gifts and Bargains)
And frankly this is a weird ass feeling to have about your homie
This kindles a little bonfire of warmth in his gut. (Jolyon, The Forsaken Prince)
Unrelated: Gifts and Bargains is amazing holy hell. The language, the imagery, the insight it gives into Ahamkara life. The Starcrossed cutscene was great; this lorebook takes Taranis's and Riven's dynamic to a whole new level
Hey I got some Dredgen questions about the timeline.
When did the whole Dredgen yor killing shins mentor happen
Was shin risen as a baby? And did his ghost die?
When did Dredgen Yor become Dredgen Yor, dark age to d1 wise.
Did dredgen yor know of the shadows, and did they follow him directly.
And when were the shadows formed?
Mael the Shin expert has arrived
Early City Age
Yes
Yes, months later
Also early City Age
No, they came after his death
They were formed relatively recently, ironically by Shin Malphur himself as part of a ploy
Osiris without the hood and mask looks cursed
i forget that osiris looks like a deranged uncle whoās served prison time
maybe he should keep his headgear on
I mean, that's kinda accurate....
Any guess to who that is on the trailer cover?
Vex mommy
Maya
aka the person who cayde named sundance after
Huh
Maya āSundareshā
I see the resemblance but
idk if we can post TFS lore here
Not until tomorrow I think
iāll post in #1247252842465460225
Is she evil
I thought she was good
golden age researcher
something like that
Ironically, she actually turned into another Clovis after finding the Veil
Damnnn I never thought about that
That makes sense
Heard elsewhere it was a pop culture reference but this works
Not at all correct, Cayde wouldnāt have been that close to Maya
(None of that info is spoiler territory) Still wouldnāt make sense because Cayde wouldnāt remember anything from his time as a regular Exo. Also Maya was part of the Ishtar Collective, at best she collaborated once with Clovis on developing Soteria, there would be little connection to her and a low level security guard
itās new lore from TFS, so itās spoilery at the moment
Ace is also not Micah, Micahās a kid to a different couple
Not Caydeās kid
Again, why would there be a personal connection between him - a lowly security officer with a massive debt and shit aim - and the head researcher of the Ishtar Collective, who had married another lady?
Micah isnāt his literal kid, her parents were insane, he is like a father figure to her
Yes, he who almost shot him as a kid, which was also years before the Exo process and again, just the kid of some researchers whom he had very little interaction with aside, again, shooting at her in the loading bay because he didnāt know she (at the time little boy) was just sneaking around as kids do
But also considering this is dependent on information from Final Shape it should have stayed there
Because the ban doesnāt lift until tomorrow
Ehhh...
Meta question: I'm about to do a sidequest that has significant lore value. If I want to record and transcribe it for Ishtar Collective, how would I go about doing that?
Who even is Micah?
do people who love the lore so much help make the game lore accurate?
aka, people of this chat
nobody in this server has a direct connection to bungie in any capacity
Bungie has demonstrated they pay attention to the fans content as demonstrated with Eramisā name being use as well as that fiasco where they used a fanās work for the Witness backstory cutscene, but thatās not a guarantee
Chemical energy/reaction as a Light subclass, can it?
Solar
if anything Iād say those events have led bungie to make sure theyāre extra careful about whatās fan-created and whatās in-house
Literally just Solar
thatās what all the light subclasses are about
physical matter and forces interacting with material reality
The thermal energy released as a chemical reaction occurs, that is the same energy being utilized by Solar
how hard are strikes lore wise?
i remember them being like grandmaster nightfalls lorewise
hard enough but it also depends
I wouldnāt say so
o
GMs are absurdly challenging because thatās the point
theyāre not meant to be realistic
so more like Legend NFs?
lore-wise standard enemies can be put down by a couple shots but that would also include guardians
thereās no direct gameplay comparison
ah
if anything was remotely close, your ghost would just die to any enemy fire
thank you
Isn't Solar nuclear fusion?
It's more of a category. That can be involved.
Ok, but chemical reaction is still a different thing
