I'm so behind on this year's lore đ
accepting darkness corrupted and changed them, like what happened with the hive
they werenât worms
and technically still arenât
worms donât have eyes or mouths
we just call them worms
cause like what else do you call this
funnily enough, Ahsa more closely resembles the worm parasites that the gods create
which is neat
Well the Worm Gods did that to themselves, and the Witness played on this fact to produce the Hive as we know them; the Darkness itself has no will, it is a paracausal force just like Light, any and all corruption through the Darkness is either through Hive Magic rituals or influence from the Witness. A key part of the Beyond Light and Lightfall expansion is learning how to control the Darkness without dependence on the Witness to regulate it for us. With Stasis, that came with exerting our own control over the power rather than delegating that control to the Witness through the Darkness Splinter; with Strand, it's realizing the true nature of Darkness and using it to manipulate one aspect of reality akin to what we do with Light subclasses - this time with the psychic fabric which connects and underlies all existence, the Weave
Ahsa acts like a Worm for Eris during Witch to empower Eris' Hive God form, and she notes how tempting and enticing it is to partake some of the tribute that we send to Eris. She also notes that indulging that desire is how the Worm Gods became the way they are and diverted from their original shared species.
â
Titan's methane oceans roiled. Saturn's crushing gravity caused massive tidal waves to surge across the moon's surface.
In the comforting blackness beneath the waves, the tides swelled and contracted like the breath of a great beast. Within that churn of elemental forces, the proto-worm Ahsa slumbered.
She was not "asleep" in any sense her ...
In my head I pictured her with legs
Like some sort of big watery dragon
I didn't know she was a worm
Wait is ahsa the titan worm we saw in the savathun strike
And occasionally at the surface
Of titans sea
Proto-worm to be specific
And yes, she's the one you saw peaking out as well as through the windows underneath the surface on the Arcology, back when it was a destination
So if you lose your light do you still age?
unknown
Rip
Too few examples provided to really say, and all have exceptions
Using the Ishtar multitool, here are the international translations/pronunciations of Shin Malphur's name:
æć«éȘ·驏ć°çŠăWÇ jiĂ o jĂčn·mÇ'Är fĂș.
äżșăŻă·ăłă»ăă«ăăĄăŒăOre wa Shin marufÄ.
ëŽ ìŽëŠì ì ë§ížë„Žë€. nae ileum-eun sin malpuleuda.
Checked on multiple loretabs; these are definitely his translated names.
Someone on Reddit said that Shin is a Chinese name and that the band of survivors Shin was originally with called his original Ghost "TiÄnshÇ" (Chinese for angel), but to my knowledge, there is no Mandarin word pronounced "shin." So Shin's name is either a Cantonese word or not Chinese at all. Probably the latter.
Googled "shin name" and Shin is a male name in Japanese and a female name in Korean. The katakana for Shin (the name) match Shin's name in the lore. It seems most likely that Shin Malphur is Japanese.
Conclusion: ???
Has anyone noticed how the trees of silver leaves look suspiciously like the âtailâ of the veil
No
Actually yes
The ways in which theyâre not exact is used as contrast between Light and Darkness, but this has been dismissed because a Tree of Silver Wings can take on both Light and Darkness
Also they should let Saint and Osiris retire, they've more than deserved and earned it
They probably will once the Witness is defeated
Seems like they will temporarily take the vanguard seats while Ikora and Zavala go into the Pale Heart
Is it safe to say that zavala is one of the awoken that left the distributury to the reef
What do you think killed him, and we see the cutscene he was in a ship with people
Pretty sure thatâs confirmed
Some Awoken apparently talk about recognising Zavala
Sauce?
That sounds interesting
I donât have it, this is just something I think Iâve heard somewhere
So what is the deal with the Rift Generator in the Strand? Like why do the Taken Defend it if a Guardian isn't present?
I could look in Ishtar or comb through idle dialogue or something in the DLV channel but itâs late and Iâm going beddy byes
Accept my friend request, before you sleep
@trim grotto I was always curious about this, if the witness and the darkness ships didn't arrive until the collapse, why was there a darkness ship in Europa for Clovis to find and the K1 Anomaly during the golden age way before the collapse
I know it was Petra mentioning that a techeun recognized him. Also, one of the D2 trailers shows Zavala being rezzed in a crashed ship in a desert which lines up with another Awoken guardian named Therin Vai
So it is most likely that he left the Reef and crashed on Earth. We also know that this was during the Dark Age
Why did some awoken leave the distributory to earth
Some wanted to reach out to their ancestors
And from what we know is it safe to say the closest thing to what the distributory looks like is the dreaming city
Maybe
Mara recognized that Earth was left on its own and needed to assistance with the unforeseen enemy
Mara herself wasn't keen on aiding humanity right away though
She would allow Awoken to leave for Earth, but they wouldn't be allowed back
What led Mara to engage the House of Wolves during the Battle of Six Fronts?
Twilight Gap, not Six Fronts
Were they not part of the same conflict?
Ah
Like, probably the lat Dark Age
While the latter was in the City Age
I also think Shaxx requested that Mara help if the Last Wish mark lore tab is anything to go off of
Idle Dialogue from Petra Venj in the Dreaming City (Patrol).
**
Petra: Did you know Sedia says she used to know Zavala before he died and became a Guardian? She says he hasnât changed much.

#Destiny2 #Forsaken #PetraVenj #DreamingCi...
What sparked a seemingly uncharacteristic act of altruism in Mara?
She's always wanted to help us really
Wasnât Six Fronts to help establish/protect an early Last City?
The Iron Lord's were still around though
Yeah that still would allow time to coincide with the early establishment of the City, the SIVA incident was to help with constructing the Last City wasnât it?
Weren't the Iron Lords around even after the City was Established?
Yeah, but not for veryblong
Well all of them died to SIVA except saladin
Oh did the SIVA incident happen much earlier than Rise of Iron?
And we are technically iron lords too
Like, a really long time prior
Siva that killed the iron lords was a different incident
so according to the new ship, Crow unintentionally wished for Cayde's return
Never played RoI, so I don't know much of the lore from that time in destiny.

It is a really good story, since it is a nice side narrative away from The light and dark stuff
I would love to play the old D1 story, but I don't have the means to. I still want like a Destiny Legacy game that's just like a Master Chief Collection for Destiny Campaigns.
Also does anyone know the answer to this, as I really wanna know this
You still can
It is only like 20 bucks
D1 servers are still up
I don't have any Systems on which to play it.
Ahh, PC player?
Yea.
Unfortunate, I hear they are trying to make it possible to emulate D1
A Destiny Legacy that features Simplified Loot a la D2 Y1 and remastered Destiny 1 Campaigns and Vaulted D2 Campaigns would be fun.
That would be great, maybe something after the final shape drops
Yeye.
But like a long time after
There wasn't a ship. The statue was there, Clarity Control. It had arrived twenty years prior, somehow.
It is never explained how the statue got there, or how the K1 anomaly got there
That's correct, but given how this all ties to Clovis Bray, there are theories that the Witness was attempting to poison humanity from the inside and/or create a new (failed) Disciple before actively invading after the end of the Vex-Exo War.
The statue was clearly sent by the Witness, for example.
Where there is Light there is Shadow, perhaps the presence of the statue is a direct result of the Light being used within the system.
Clarity Control. The mystery I was promised.
Analysis of the surrounding ice suggest it arrived on Europa no more than 20 years ago...still, well before I encountered the K1 artifact. How long have they planned my invitation?```
For a bit more context
Clovis was sent to Europa by the Witness speaking to him through the K1 Anomaly
The way is clear. The first step is yours to take.
Or you can beat your head against a wall until nothing remains but a bloody stump.
At least then youâd leave a stain behind.```
Apart from being brutal, it's why the theories suggest he was... to be... Disciple'd.
Shhh
objective morality be damned this entity can write bars
I heard dark age armor looked a bit militaristic, is this true?
And did the great ahamkara hunt take place during the dark ages?
I really need to know something about the lore
I need help figuring out a proper explanation for each season since every video of the are like 50 minutes each, I need to find a short and basic explanation of all the juicy details before final shape
I might just watch a 10 hour lore video
I missed way too much since beyond light
Lord this lore is confusing
why do characters like ikora and zavala never wear helmets in combat but saint and osiris (kind of) do
like is there a real lore reason or just "the characters were modeled that way"
you're in luck, several days ago I made a quick summary of each expansion and season before TFS
@plain vessel start from here
I swear there was an image of Micah surrounded by Ghosts in one of the grimoires (not the Cyrell one)
Does anyone have it or am I going crazy?
if you got any specific questions about stuff not covered, I can answer them for you
maybe in the most recent Grimoire anthology
city age
not particularly
it was just whatever people could get their hands on
Drifter level
drifter was actually fairly formally dressed I think
â
"For the breadth of my formative years, I had one goal: find myâwell, we all have our own word for themâmy chosen. And every moment thereafter was dedicated to keeping him alive, whether he liked it or not. They were turbulent times, before the Last City. Before humanity found hope for the future. I was prepared to kill for it. Die for it." âA...
Characters were modeled that way
RIP Joxer
a real one
as for why that happened, the Witness made it that way
damm
So what exactly happened on the Glykon, Crown of Sorrow shenanigans where everyone simply went insane and mutated into scorn or something?
No the scorn there were scorn taken from the tangled shore
They didn't stay dead is the issue
They didnât get their horns clipped duh
real and true
(But actuality they had a turmoil at the ship and that released them)
gotcha
Something something
Person says how when you kill the 2 orange bar abominations
So is it possible ryan gosling got rezed as a guardian
If so would he be a warlock or a hunter?
Looking at all the YouTube footage and thumbnails, a titan (and maybe warlock)
I think ryan would be a warlock
This is because i main warlock and heâs literally me.
(Bruh)
do you guys think the speaker's mask will have a nezarec type deal where we can hear the traveller when wearing it
That was my first thought but i doubt it
Speakerâs power was something intrinsic to him so i donât think his mask would confer that power to us
Itâll probably be a prismatic-focused exotic
Perhaps buffing transcendance
Hmmmmmmm
That's a good point honestly
I could see it haven't some functionality with Prismatic
Calus wanted to speak to the Darkness. He modified the Crown of Sorrow and experimented on Scorn, attempting to merge their minds into a gestalt being that he could speak to the Entity (now known as the Witness) through
The Glykon flew into the gravitational anomaly of (I believe) Mars, which of course was still missing at the time. This caused shit to go wrong, and the Scorn overran the ship, led by the gestalt being Calus had created - the Locus of Communion
Calus disappeared during all this
Imma be honest, literally my only complaint abt the epilogue cutscene is that cayde didn't just dome crow when he saw the ghost

I think you're missing the point then tbh
no no i completely get why they did it the way they did
i'll just be forever sad that cayde never got his revenge shot
Its not real revenge tho, Crow is not Uldren
Uldren already paid the price
Plus, we've avenged Cayde already by killing Uldren
Wanting Cayde to shoot Crow is just needlessly petty and edgy
Again, the whole reason why he didnât shoot Crow to begin with.
I think the cutscene is perfect for what it is
It was a big âoh fuckâ moment of realization.
A great full circle moment and teaser for TFS
I also love how small of a scale it is. Its the leadup into the grand finale but its about our characters rather than the fate of the universe. Great writing.
Destiny storytelling is at its best when its character driven imo
Yeah, what was up with the light pulses?
Probably ol trav reacting to whatever the witness is doing
They're visually identical to the types of Light pulses the Traveler's done before
Right
Yeah that cutscene
Fair enough
Something I did notice- I don't think cayde missed a single shot
everything landed exactly where wanted
he wasn't trying to kill crow, at least not until close range
Interesting perspective
and thennnn
awawa...
Destiny 2 Season of the Wish - Season of the Wish Finale Full Story Compilation - All Cutscenes, Cinematics, Quests & Dialogue. Just a quick compilation video showing all of the story from the ending of Season of the Wish, completing the final Closer to the Heart mission and Veiled Threats quest, getting the final radio message, and a cutscene ...
Those same pulses from where (presumably) the Witness is, and both times you can heart this, at least to me, distressed sound from it
Aww poor space orb
AND THEN BACK IN SEASON OF THE WITCH
first shot hits the rock to get crow's attention
next couple put pressure on him
crow ducks behind the rock, then tries to take some shots.
Cayde shoots his feet to get him to turn tf around and give cayde time to close the gap
Then the tripmine to flush crow out so he has a clean shot for the knife throw
Your Ghost said the Traveler's been quiet lately. That's not exactly true, I think he's sparing you the details.
The Witness is doing something terrible to it, I can sense it in my Light.
Listen, imagine your god spoke to you, and all it did was scream for help. Yeah, it's kind of like that.
~ Immaru, Altars of Summoning, Destiny 2: Season Of T...
Riiight, that quote
Horrifying stuff
AAAAAAAAA
Like could you imagine hearing the voice of an allpowerful unknowable being, yet its begging YOU for help?
real talk i would not be able to handle that
I'm really hoping that the voice we're hearing in the trailers isn't the traveler
i really would like if the traveler stayed unknowable
I think its the gardener
I mean
It's the end of the Light and Dark saga
If we don't actually see the Traveler/Gardener I will be honestly disappointed
Like
I've waited
A decade
OVER A DECADE
For this
i personally would love it if the traveler itself stayed silent- unable to communicate other than to impart its will onto the ghosts, and to cry for help
tho my case is a bit different
ive only been here about 3 years
The traveler has talked in destiny before with the new super mission in Forsaken, right?
also was riven supposed to sound so much like savathun
y'know tomorrow i'll tell you about all the times the big ball's spoken to us
The Traveler has been my favorite subject for the entire franchise
Theres the dream in red war
At one point I knew damn well most all the lore related to it

I lean towards thousands
And that's just since the Hive
Also, among the hierarchy of the disciples of the witness, did Rhulk or Nezarec "rank" higher?
Rhulk was the first Disciple
Other than that, I donât think itâs suggested that thereâs a rank system
She got the funny light instead
Excited for the (probably slim) possibility that we ally with Sav and her brood for TFS
The enemy of my enemy type thing
how would she get past the veil tho
ask the trailer team
mael
hallo bo
did u play mishun?
i just got home
play mishun
I heard dark age gear was kinda militaristic, is this true?
I swear Iâve heard this before
Also did the great ahamkara hunt take place during the dark age?
Something something scavenged
Something something rat man
City age
That rather depends on the context, people, and what you determine to be militaristic.
Gotcha
Is this Groundhog Day?
Early City Age.
Yea this is the EXACT SAME thing as earlier
The Iron Lords forged their own relic iron armour, which was often quite knight-esque
But a lot of Dark Ages equipment was whatever could be scavenged or stolen, rags and woven cloth
Gotcha
Damn i was trying to see if my hunter fashion was capable of matching up with a certain point of Destinyâs history xd
Militaristic but then theres just the ahamkaras spine
Guardians wear incredibly varied armour so
True lol
When you say militaristic, do you mean in a modern military sense? Practical?
i mean, once the portal's open it should stay open from what i understand
I've been wanting to ask, are there any Lightbearers that are children, teenage, anything out of the norm? Just wanna confirm
And I mean ANYTHING out of the norm
I wish to be omnipresent
Shiiiiin Maaaaalphur
He was resurrected as a literal baby. Unfortunately, the Ghost died some few months later.
do you have any other queries
WOMP
uh
Has anyone fucked up a bit
Screw it tell me of warlock isle
...the EAZ?
The fuckin pacifist guys
The pacifist colony in the outer system that Lady Efrideet joined?
Yea
..wha
Woah
Sounds like a sparrow thing uh
I've got the Cowthingâą, the embyro
What else
Ikora and her Warlocks took a huge ol' chunk of the EDZ
And levitated it for about three weeks straight
They've done this like four times now
WAT DA FAAQ
Whyyy????
Why would you do such buffoonery
To praise the sun dark souls style or something (that has to be an emote)
it is
Hey lore nerds
Whoâs your favorite character and why
Lucky Lavinia... Micah-10... That One Guy In The Original Tower Who Talks Nonsenseâąïž.
Because "Hey, Cryptarch like me!"
Because it's Micah-10, need I say more
Because he is hilarious
I'm checking WQ campaign again and
When Ikora and Zavala have that discussion, there have been instances like this before? Both of them keeping secrets or not counting on the other one
Ah, you'd have to remind me of the exact dialogue... but it may be referencing Ikora bringing in the House of Light to deal with the Endless Night without consultation of Commander Zavala or the Consensus.
The Guardian was unable to access the memory linked to the worm statue. Ikora asks them to return to Mars to discuss what happened.
**
Zavala: Ikora, why would you keep this from me? If I had known...
Ikora Rey: I didn't keep anything from you, Zavala... not intentionally. I couldn't fill you in on every minute detailâ
Zavala: When it comes...
And, thanks
It's also worth noting that at this time, Savathûn had only recently been revealed to have been masquerading as Osiris for the past year, stealing our secrets, and manipulating us from within - and leaving Osiris comatose for about a year.
Mael if you are on what do warlocks do to their robes again
They weave light into it or something along the lines of that right?
thatâs all guardians
Yeah but warlocks do something special to their robes
inherently your light imbues all your armor and weapons to give them extra utility
Weaving stuff into ut
every single guardian does this
you weave your light into your bullets, yes
thatâs the quote
and itâs all guardians
No I mean literally I think
I ended closer to the heart and damn
That cinematic was really cool, and with an actual good joke
Any idea of what happened at the end with that explosions?
Hadronic essence, used as an infusion in Warlock fieldweave. If you're thinking of a specific example though... The Protocol is contained in the patterns on the robe that, if scanned at the molecular level, describe a Turing-compatible virtual computer and program that, when executed on said computer, calculates the entire Protocol, exactly as it was determined in the Precipice of Flame.

Traveler light emissions
like the one at the end of the red war declaring its will, except this time
more like a cry for help
Damn
time to log in before i get spoiled
Witness isnât going to be around anymore, episodes will be about cleaning up the pieces
realistically
Yes
how do we kill it
Thatâs what defeat means
but also the witness will probably be Ina volatile state now
Anything could happen. It's undoubtedly the strongest enemy we've ever faced, but we're within the Traveler itself, so we've got... backup.
thereâs those trailer shots of a bunch of conjoined people reaching out
probably going to separate it or something
do you think the witness is going to go âoh weâre sorry weâll go into time out nowâ
itâs going bye bye
not wot i mean
sorry
im assuming we wont kill him in the raid at least
since theres a mission after it
they probs want the non raiders to experience it
It could be like Oryx. Campaign and Raid.
I mean I can live with that
We make them weak in the camping, then more weak in the raid and then a final but that would be strange
ah yes
the make the enemy weak route
always works
but yea ig we wont know wot we find durin the campaign until its out
I go to sleep at a reasonable time and miss so much discussion
Anyways that was a cool mission
If Nezarec and Rhulk are scared of the Witness, then it must be bad
This raid gonna be last wish part 2
I wonder if the Witness is hiding a Disciple in the Pale Heart
A lot of Pyramids followed in
Might be fighting a lot of disciples
There are definitely things we still don't know about
I also don't think this was the last time we'll see Nezarec.
To be clear, it isn't 1 Disciple per Pyramid.
He's cheated death before I think
Didnât mean it that way. They might just put a few disciples for us to fight in the campaign.
It's possible, but they'd be completely unknown.
This weeks finale mission made me wonder.
||Was that a total Vex simulation, or was it a taster of what the Witness can do in the Pale Heart?||
It's essentially the same situation as D1.
||The Witness gave the Vex of the Sol Divisive the tools they needed to once more recreate the Heart||, just like it did back then.
Ohhh!
||That was such an amazing callback||
I loved it
||I saw the giant door, and was like "no fucking way bro"||
Actual tears
đ
You can head back there in Garden of Salvation too so that's neat
It was an awesome call back. Pretty dope
Why can gaurdians destroy the hive ghosts with their bare hands. I thought ghosts were immortal except to a specific thing that I canât remember
Whatever the bullet was that destroyed caydes ghost
Was it light? I canât remember would make sense if it was
That is a common, yet inaccurate, misconception.
Ghost shells are made of metal and glass. They're destroyed fairly easily if caught unawares or put into particularly dangerous situations. Fallen Arc Spears, high explosive bombing runs, high caliber sniper shots, and more.
It was fairly common to see Ghosts get killed by Fallen in the Dark Ages, and Ada-1 has attested to using Izanagiâs Burden to break the Ghosts of impeding Warlords
Ghost innate paracausality can help keep them safe from this sort of threat, but as we ourselves are paracausal, we cut through this paracausal "barrier" by nature.
As for the bullet you recall, that was a Devourer round - designed after the original, Light-eating Thorn. It would have consumed the Light of Cayde-6 and killed him outright, if it functioned identically, even if Sundance survived. Instead, the Rifleman killed Sundance first.
alright
lore dispensed
sleep time
I mean if you wanna be technical, theyâre more immortal than ever
Aside from Darkness, just more training and learning how not to get themselves a Final Death
It's long been established that Ghosts are our weakness as well as our strength. The Dark Ages saw thousands of Lightbearers die. Hundreds died all at once in the Great Disaster.
Turns out male cabal have kangaroo pouches
yes
thatâs been known since before LF
itâs a very fun icebreaker
bring it up to your next lfg team
Any outher fun facts I should know?
Wonder if Trost Would share
doghives
the rabbit embryo being responsible for the awoken
Cayde shot a kid once
He shot a kid!?
Does moving from a human to exo body (Exo-0 -> Exo-1) involve a reset?
the transfer from human to exo is considered a reset
there is a mind wipe involved
human is technically your 0
||who exactly is speaking right here? is it the ghost or 1 of the 2 guardians?||
One time before the Collapse he was on Europa with another Exo and a kid Micah Abrams (who later became Micah-10, Ghost mother and member of the Six Coyotes) was in an area they were guarding
Cayde-1âs POV: Legacyâs Oath Helm (Titan)
Micahâs POV: Your Friend, Micah Abram: LETTER 5
A ghost
why did you spoiler tag
Itâs fine to post unspoilered, itâs been a decade
not everyone has played d1
itâs also a ghost fragment grimoire
none of those are plot related
thatâs just supplemental lore
Weekly resets and the month after Expansion releases are when spoilers are necessary
even then people completely ignored it for this weekâs update
its staying spoilered
in tfs rai people say we're gonna kill the witness, but are we gonna accually kill him or disband him to its precursors? the latter makes more sense but idk
I dunno
Kill him in the story mission that unlocks after the Raid
thatâs what the dlc is for
Probably
As much as weâre in the business of looking for the best in others the Witness is fairly unredeemable
Besides itâs less physical creature more weird mind gestalt that is more than the collective consciousnesses of the Precusors
Osiris and Saint are married; Saint feeds him candy corn and they write poetry to each other
There are Zavala action vitamin gummies and you need 2/3 Vanguard permission to view any information related to them
The first hunter vanguard, Tallulah Fairwind, died when she lost a game of cards to an Ahamkara, to the horror of the second hunter vanguard who was at her side, Caliban-8
Cayde reads Guardian-themed romance novels and Eva Levante the holiday grandma thinks his taste is shit
Immaru is a big fan of the crucible
Shaxx punched Iron Lord Felwinterâs head clean off his shoulders
Guardians are canonically loot goblins and dance a lot
Before she was an Iron Lord, Efrideet threw Lord Saladin to create the first thundercrash
Amanda teaching an Eliksni to swear led to a lynch mob and Guardian intervention

Cayde and Shaxx played dodgeball with some City kids
The existence of âOryx the Nightmare Daddyâ

One thing that carried over from his past life
I guess Immaru is a fan of guardians killing eachother
Where that one comes from? From the campaign or he talks about that on a book?
he talks about crucible a couple places

@eager trout
(note that they pick up 11 and 10 out of order)
so do we know exactly why cayde is back yet? has that particular bit been explained?
Read the lore of the ship
right, what's the name of the ship?
The one you got from the mission lemme go look
so i can go look it on ishtar
If that's not sufficient explanation then here's an alternative: the Pale Heart is forged on memories and, well, I don't think I need to explain why Crow would conjure Cayde.
Unforeseen Consequences
Here's the important bit
Basically Crow wished to Riven (who was pretending to be Mara) to be able to apologize to Cayde
Thatâs the wish that opened the portal?
Who is lakshmi-2?
she was the main representative for the Future War Cult
they were a faction dedicated to looking into the future and preparing for future conflicts while also being very sketchy and secretive
as for her backstory, she was an exo who arrived on Neptune via the Exodus Indigo
she was then killed by the radiation emitted from the Veil and her body would later be used to house a copy of Maya Sundaresh's mind
Ohhhh i see very interesting
Doesnt fwc have a small area in the tower?
Wheres that exactly?
then, after Maya died, Chioma Esi had the Cloud Strider Stargazer take Lakshmi with them to Earth where she was left
Oh wait maya from the ishtar logs right in neptune?
eventually, after witnessing several brutal battles like the fall of the knights of the Mumbai Push and the burning of London, she would be taken in by FWC
Tower Hangar
it is worth noting that the three factions, FWC, DO, and NM, are all gone
Got it nice okay new knowledge aqcuired
they left the Last City following Lakshmi's failed coup attempt that caused a Vex attack
Did the remaining followers split up after that?
either the faction itself fizzled out, or the remnants are with DO and NM
oh, and Lakshmi herself was killed in this Vex attack she inadverdantly caused
her plan was to kick the House of Light out of the city (they were just invited in at this time out of neccessity)
and I unironically think she was a pretty layered character
there was a lot that went into why she didn't want the House of Light in the Last City
- She had a bloody philosophy on war thinking that it was inevitable
- She witnessed the Burning of London, the first attack the Fallen launched against humanity after the Collapse
- She had a savior complex when she foresaw the Red War but no one listened to her
- She saw a potential future where the Fallen were at the center of an upcoming attack (she didn't realize that this attack was the very one she caused)
- Savathun was manipulating her into doing it
Huh
Well
Kinda yes not really but also yes
Itâs dominantly Mayaâs personality traits but Lakshmi-2 as we knew her was technically the result of a simular ritual that the Precusors performed to create the Witness
well, Maya/Lakshmi was stated to have started as basically a child
so over time it would be reasonable to assume that Lakshmi grew to be a different version of Maya through her own experiences
like her background as a soldier
It always Leeds back to savathun
Also why did she have crota bring in the vex?
as in the Books of Sorrow?
I'd wager it was because the incident convinced Oryx to put his Throne WOrld inside of the Dreadnaught
while it made it mobile and harder to invade, it did make him vulnerable when it did get invaded by us
You could have just put reason 5 alone and it would be perfectly understandable
Is Final Warning a weapon we made or did we just find it?
pls bring some bray characters back (the ones only mentioned in lore?)~
Well, there aren't a ton of relevant Brays. There's Alton, often forgotten about, and Willa, the only truly relevant option.
yea those ones
Alton exists to showcase that Clovis is a massive misogynist
he himself doesnât really do anything
would be funny if he was risen too though
neither he nor Ana have any idea
Elsie just wouldnât care either way
It was an old spectrometer that we fashioned into one
and if it is a quest exotic, then it is either something we made, or found through very specific means
examples of the former being Lumina, Malfeasance, Touch of Malice (D1)
examples of the latter being Dead Man's Tale, Vexcaliber, The Last Word
then there are some cases where we repair something we found like with Thorn and Ace of Spades
Rasputin and Felwinter might as well be Brays
Except they're both dead too lol
The other four were important to showing us how exactly Savathun was able to influence her towards those conclusions and convicted her beliefs, as they provide reasons for her biases
Lakshmi-2 was not wholly absolved of her involvement with the Vex being let in, she acted in her worse impulses to stir conflict against House Light
Savathun only preyed on what was already there, the distrust and paranoia that Lakshmi-2 allowed to fester within herself
how is it during this quest crow is helping us if during a previous quest we saw him get yeeted into the traveler?
Because the Seasonal quest ends with him entering the portal.
You're behind.
yea i figured im behind idk why the cutscene triggered so early for me than lol
It happened for everyone because the Season is about to end
And Final Shape is nearly here
So with Riven granting Crow his unexpected Wish, does that mean Cayde is a constant now? Because there's always some sort of downside to these wishes
Maybe Cayde can't leave the Pale Heart
It's possible, yes. That's the leading guess.
I am slightly scared for what's going to happen inside the Pale Heart, lol.
As long as the Witness doesn't drag out a memory of Oryx in Regicide or something on Legendary, I won't be fearing for my life lmao
It seems the Pale Heart reacts to the person? Like the Ascendant Plane?
So I wonder if aswell as the Tower being created, it'll manifest some really crazy stuff from the pastđ
Wdym a constant?
Bungie about to make us fight the 15th ogre boss with 100 ads and an incredibly annoying mechanic to get its shield down.
Ok, next we need to make a refrigerator into a Stasis rocket launcher
A constant being.
So like Crow is a constant, whereas a Shade of Oryx isn't, because it's a manifestation I guess
What....does that mean?
(We are infact getting a new ogre variant)
Like science lol
When something is a manifestation (nightmares, shades etc) it is not a constant being in the Universe, as it does not exist as we do.
Whereas a constant being or thing, is a permanent fixture in the Universe and abides by the laws of the Universe too.
So for example you're a constant being in the Universe, whereas a ghost isn't.
Why I asked if Cayde was, is because that means he's permanently back.
But he could also be unable to leave/or a temporary part of the Pale Heart due to Riven's wish
Science keeps sciencing
Question, has the Calus storyline finished. I have not played the latest expantion but very curious?
oooooh
at our own hands
was he another raid boss?
a campaign boss
end of lightfall campaign boss
was he powerful?, i loved him during the early days of destiny haha
i guess, i need to read more wiki haha
not really
calus was only notable because of the psion powers he got from his special wine
he didnât drink any during Lightfall so he just relied on brute strength mixed with darkness power
it didnât amount to much
so what's the prevailing theory on that voice we heard in the tfs trailer anyways
Probably that itâs the Traveler
Figured as much
Was curious to see if any other theories had come up abt it
If caydeâs gonna be a permenant being or if this is just a temporary copy of him, which it isnât. Itâs not that hard to grasp
donât think itâs going to be fake in any capacity but heâs definitely going to be limited
doesnât look like something he can just walk off
No Iâm aware, just spelling it out further for Eevee
I think had we not destroyed Calus, he would've been abandoned anyways
The Witness had no more use for him
Witness just needed a temporary foothold on neomuna and an army to get to the veil
Calus unfortunately, was only there to lure us in really. A shame
Nezarec on the other hand, sorta just vibed in the chaos that came with the invasion of Neomuna
basically just used as a distraction yeah
Witness didnât really need him for anything specific
maybe if things went perfectly Calus would be capturing the veil while nezarec reigned terror on them so they couldnât fight back?
not like it worked in the end
Calus regardless, would've been abandoned I think. Once the Veil had been captured, Calus outlives his usefulness to the Witness.
It also explains why the Witness doesn't even bother to interfere during the fight with Calus, as it's all going according to plan.
Calus was always going to die, so that the Veil could be activated. The Witness used our (emotional connection/actual connection with the Light) with our Ghost to achieve what it desired.
Nezarec just loves causing pain and suffering, even if it has no purpose lol. Some of his lore is actually so fuckedđ
I don't think Nezarec is gone though. He always comes back
he ourple guy
urple..
what would be left of the cabal if the shadow legion is defeated
Caiatlâs forces, and whatever Red Legion holdouts there might be.
oh interesting
Yeah besides that, there's not many other choices left lol
OH COME ON
You have all the other ogre bosses, you have practice
Anyways
Guardians make their own fate.
Join us for a behind the scenes look at The Final Shape in a two-part ViDoc series - Becoming Legend. Part 1 arrives on May 23 at 9am PDT.
đș https://bung.ie/tfs
GRAAAAAAH YES, GUARDIANS MAKE THEIR OWN FATE
Iâve always hated that helmet
Darkness's counterpart to the Traveler. Strong ties to the realm of the mind.
so like is it a perfect counterpart or does it just have similar powers?
idk if that makes sense
I'm not sure what you quantify as a "perfect" counterpart, but it's a... being... that is as closely tied to Darkness as the Traveler is to the Light. There are theories that they may become or may have once been whole, too.
oh ok gotcha
and by perfect i mean like
wario to mario
as the veil is to the traveler
Well. I suppose that's... not completely inaccurate, albeit an oversimplification. Neither is true or original however, they are... equals, in a way.
interesting
Wario is not perfect in any capacity
Wario is literally canonically invincible and indestructible
can anyone remind me, why are we collecting riven eggs? what is she going to do for us?
we needed her to give us safe passage through the portal to follow the witness
she agreed to make the wish without any twists, but wanted her eggs safe first
what exactly is the black heart? what is its purpose and whatâs the significance of it?
Originally, all we knew is that it was something of Darkness, the Sol Divisive Vex worshipped it and that it drained the Traveler
In Lightfall we found out the Black Heart was an attempted recreation of the Veil
oh right i forgot about that part
and thanks ^^
Okay lowkey, I love the little lore tidbit from the TWID where it draws a connection between Nezarec being entombed on the moon and increases in night terrors when the Moon is closest to Earth
Heâs just a silly guy
nezarec is basically "what if the term terrorist was literal"
Terrorist with a little heart at the end
His resume just says âTerrorist~đ€â and the rest is warping ink that spells and shapes out horrible things
From the vidoc trailer: What is this place? didn't play d1 but it looks like the ib thing
That looks like Saladbinâs big wheel thing
As that is also the big axe from RoI
And the wolves
guessing itâs part of the pale heart location
we already know thereâs the weird tower
the wolf statues are definitely black fleet
Mmmm, statue axe
Memory of the Iron Temple is my best bet
Help me solve an argument guys. If any of the Destiny enemy races could procreate with humans. Which one is the most likely?
My money is on fallen
Due to a single scene of the apple being calcified, I think you are wrong
note: I have not watched a second of the vidoc
Fuck
I want stuff
Cabal
Eliksni lay eggs
Maybe Vex, I'm unfamiliar with the Vex lore but maybe they scan your dna and incorporate some of that into a new Vex
Destiny player
Letâs not entertain that question
I'm in the middle of am argument
You may want to familiarise yourself with #â welcome-and-rules
It's hardly nsfw
It borders on it, so itâs better not to talk about it
There are most certainly children in this server and its an inappropriate topic to bring up
In my defense, people have literally talked about if guardians can get pregnant in this channel.
Thanks for the answer
on the topic of Cabal did you know they have kangaroo pouches
Do cabal consume their own version of ethers to grow large???
itâs some pride thing that releases a hormone for growth (my source? Some YouTube short from byf)
hmmm, I'm thinking of changing my nickname once more
Who do you not like?
Or will it be (donât ask how factions reproduce) or something like that
no, that bitch had the audacity to say she had better things to do than help me find Archie this week
Lmfaoooo
We not forgiving Petra
Is there a lore reason as to why it seems like every time we go into the Ascendant Plane we find the Taken?
Ascendant Plane is the world of Darkness
and Taken are created from a very Dark-aligned ability
Is there an inverse World of Light? Or is that just the Material Plane?
Darkness is of the Mental like Light is to the Physical, I need to pull up the quote from Osiris but thatâs how our understanding of the two forces has been broken down
think of our world as the world of Light
And the Ascendent Plane, with its Throneworlds molded by the mind of their owners, is apparent in its nature as a plane influenced by the minds of those in regular reality
As for why the Taken are so prevalent in the Ascendent Plane, eeeeehhh I would guess it has to do with them being manifestations of what their most optimal version of themself would be in accordance to the will that has Taken them
What is the deal with those Hive Knights that you tend to encounter within the Ascendant plane? The ones with the Axes.
This information comes from the grimoire cards in D1 for each Taken enemy type, seemingly in the perspective of Oryx/the Voice in the Deep taking note of what the individual is most useful at doing and thus reshaping them to better suit that purpose
Hmm, @jagged badge would you know?
I'm currently on my way to Caitil
it's just a special variant of an Ultra Knight
What's Yall's favorite Lore Tab? Mine's Chroma Rush.
Vex Mythoclast
and by Ultra Knight, I am referring to boss enemies that are large
Thatâs only the males
Mechabre
I'm so mad rn
quick guide as a reminder:
Elite - Orange bar
Major - Yellow bar, but regular size
Ultra - Yellow Bar, but large
though this variant did start with a strike boss from D1 named Alak-Hul, the Darkblade (yes, same guy we fight as the Ligthblade in WQ)
Fun Fact: Calus got so diva mad about Caitalâs mom not paying attention to him and instead focusing on their eldest child that he forcefully ripped the pouch housing all her siblings/sibling in protest, because heâs just that vain
The hell
male Cabal are the ones who nurse the young too
Were the siblings ok
probably not
Calus didn't become a Disciple for no reason. Dude was just striaght up an asshole.
The only reason we even liked him by any metric is because he gave us guns like dog treats.
Overly hedonistic and vain was his dealio yes
Any more interesting biological facts about the other races
Hive eat each other in the womb or some shit
The Eliksni can regrow limbs like Geckos can their tails.
The Hive have symbiotic/parasitic relationship with a Worm that is ingested and introduced to their body when they are thrall
Is there a Limit to it though? Why hasn't Variks' arm started to regrow?
He just doesn't feel like it I guess
Oh yea, also, in theory the Eliksni are kinda similar to Lobsters in regard to the fact that if they have enough Ether they can live forever and continue to grow.
These worms feed on the ontological concept of Death - literal or figurative, doesnât matter - and process it as Ascendent Power, though the Hive individual can take some of this power for themselves to become more powerful; another neat trick is that the Hive have also learned that you can tithe your accrued power to another Hive and itâs common to have broods and broods of underlings to create a stead system of tithe
Either the wounds were seared closed or something along those lines
normally when an Eliksni is docked, they are left with docking caps that prevent regrowth
as for Variks, he doesn't feel like he deserves to regrow them
No wonder they love the stuff
Yea, it's only just their main source of food.
Ether isnât food
it's an additional physical need alongside food and water
I was actually about to ask about that, I know that the Fallen want/need ether to survive, but I don't actually know what purpose it serves.
neccessary in their growth
think of it like this, any Eliksni smaller than a Captain is considered "malnourished" in Ether
I thought that Vandals were eating enough, and Captains were well fed.
no, Eido herself says that Captain size is supposed to be normal
Ah.
Can we just reroute like half of our ether supplies to the house of light to get them giant
of course, getting more Ether even as a captain can make you even bigger
like Ultra-sized
Our Ether Supplies are the House of Light's Ether.
without Riis, Eliksni rely on Servitors to transmute matter/energy into Ether
Riis being their homeworld
I dunno how big the Eliksni can get, but we know that Elykris used to be one of the biggest we knew of.
she is Scorn though, then again, that might not make a huge difference
And to clarify for this point, they donât become fat like Spider when they overconsume Ether, they moreso become like Archons, just literally grow bigger
hence why I say "ultra-sized"
Spider is⊠we dunno why Spider like that
Not a lot of exercise.
Either itâs consumption of non-Ether foods or heâs just, built like that
He just ate too much I guess
Again, not much information on how they process non-ether
judging by his appearance in flashbacks, he wasn't always that way
The Scorn Should remain the same size though, unless the Scorn can continue to grow after being resurrected, Elykris should have been that big before her Resurrection as a Scorn.
I mean
The Abominations and screebs are proof that they can experience âgrowthâ in a way not conventional to the regular Eliksni
I kinda miss having actual Scorn characters like the Barons.
Scorn probably operate on the same rules anyways, just that they require Dark Ether
the Knights of Fikrul were kind of similar
Quite literally you can staple a bunch more meaty bits onto a Scorn and just make em bigger that way
at least the first Knight had some character
I feel like Abominations and Skreebs imply that they have to be that big before their resurrection or Dark Ether will deform them.
raid boss that is this but Scorn
to be clear this was a Calus quote
to which the common conclusion is âfake as fuckâ
Unironically what the witness final boss might be
you know centaurs in fallout
Cabal are the only ones we don't have a clear explanation for in terms of how they have Ultras
I want wrathborn looking like those
I just accept the genetic engineering as an option
Oh yea, @tacit spindle by the list of things that Servitors can transmute into Ether includes people. :) This was a common practice for the House of Devils.
lore-wise, wrathborn are supposed to be mutated
yes
piles of skulls outside of their lair...
thatâs why I said that and compared them to the worst mutants in the fallout franchise, centaurs
You can see the stitching holding the Abominations together and Iâm sure thereâs some loretabs demonstrating that with subsequent revivals, a Scorn slowly becomes a Screeb
I wish we had those
Normal people and paracausal people?
both probably
the closest we have is the confirmation that the captain wrathborn wasnât actually a captain but a dreg who grew an additional set of limbs and just gained height
but thatâs not enough
we know they tore people out of cryo pods from the colony ship
I want a cabal walking on all fours with a mouth in its stomach
I want a vex growing a bunch of organic tentacles
Theoretically, both they just can't beat down a Lightbearer hard enough for a Servitor to be able to transmute them.
I want a hive to have two heads
Could a guardian be an infinite food source for the Eliksni
eating guardians doesnât really work
then there's the gladiator wrathborn with tendrils coming from its sides
drifter tried
How
it would have to just be very small bits of flesh on top of killing them another way
the only species wrathborn are currently are Fallen, Hive, and Cabal
at that point just get actual food
Oh right, Drifter. There probably isn't a thing in the Sol system that drifter HASN'T eaten.
nothing actually nutritious at that point
but I'm pretty sure we haven't even seen Wrathborn Cabal ingame yet
he hasnât eaten precursors
yet
yeah nah
just hive and fallen
Drifter wants the witness to lose, not because he cares about the Sol System, but because he wants to eat a part of the Witness.
and we know there are Wrathborn Cabal out there too
Vex wrathborn would probably be a big issue
pretty interesting that Bungie went the route where Drifter just abandoned his plans for Gambit
I wouldn't put it past Drifter to have eaten a small part of the Traveler.
if it can actually override their intrinsic multiplying patterns
dusklight shards are all over
could probably refine one to a powder and mix it into something
~~rule 3 ~~
Just eat it
Probably a metallic taste, with a little bit of hope sprinkled in
Dawning moment
before anyone brings it up, no, I do not and will never believe Fenchurch
it was 100% just a joking âoh yeah Iâve totally gone inside the traveler, smells like vanilla broâ
What about Mara destroying a Pyramid? Even he doubted himself and it was proven true
please let the Pale Heart smell like vanilla it would be so funny if it did
It would
It'd give me a giggle
I hope it smells like overbearing black licorice because of the witness interfering
just to spite you
Sjur Eido is supposed to be close to coming back
I want to see her break lore and come back
sheâs been close for years now
Iâm more interested in Micah making an appearance
I feel like the air in the Traveler would be full of so many scents that you'd get a headache.
please it would be so awesome
Muscles so statuesque it destroys the boundaries of rhyme and reason
I need trans rep that isnât the god king of the hive or nimbus
Who is Micah?
like weâre literally going inside the traveler why would the ghost mom not show up
Would they be trans rep?
as a mortal, the kid on eventide who wrote those letters to the traveler you get from collecting penguins
Who? Nimbus?
Yeah
Nonbinary is under transgender
itâs not your assigned gender
at birth
you transition
I want a bipolar guardian in Destiny. It be interesting
There have been THOUSANDS.
there was a completely delusional one who saw everything as a fantasy land
Yâknow Iâm not gonna lie, never considered that
guardian who collects lost ghosts and takes them around her patrols looking for their guardians
also part of the 6 coyotes iirc
The titan that killed crow at some point
that wasnât really bipolar that was just redditor
Damn
I'm pretty sure that like 60% of all Guardians at minimum are mentally unwell at all times.
unironically the tower seriously needs full time therapists
We do canonically break out into random dance
like at least a hundred
Do we include the refugee level new lights or like, these guys
the closest we have is confirmation that thereâs a widespread anti depressant made specifically to target existential immortal dread
thatâs really not painting a good picture
Stories of our colleagues dying is commonplace, both just revivable and Final deaths
who are those randoms fucks standing in front of the vanguard
did they really ever go âyeah Iâd rather be blocking the view of Zavalaâ
The worlds first members
Imagine being the worlds first to complete vanilla D1 campaign
Yuh
play for four hours and then have severe remorse
Phenomenal achievement
my hope would be shattered
I like how there are 2 ways to kill a ghost, The nearly divine power of an Paracausal being used to crush the shell made from pure light, and BIG GUN.
do you know how long it was between release and VoG
doesnât have to be big gun
just has to be enough fun (or any basic force)
it basically just means the glass and metal of a ghost will never be dented by random rocks or something
but like, a couple of dregs and their pistols made of literal garbage
that ghost is toast
A hydraulic press however, thatâs another story
putting a ghost in a hydraulic press is legit cruel and unusual punishment
I thought that you needed to either hit a Ghost really hard or have Paracausality to destroy a ghost, Mundane Fire Arms can't do it.
they can
(Wonder if gms have the more enemies to make lore sense,)
I see
not too difficult but enough to completely overrun slackers
because yknow tagline of vanilla was âbecome legendâ
and Ghaul directly said âI have become legendâ
Is there example of this? AFAIK the only example was the Marksman, but that was Retconned to him having a Darkness Infused bullet.
it wasnât retconned
Wonder just how many guardians were sacrificed during the 3 psiops battlegrounds
Fun fact Ada-1 picked off some lightbearersâ ghosts in the Dark Age with Izanagiâs
we just didnât have enough information
Normal guns and enemies have been killing ghosts for years
And Fallen blades are a common Ghost killer
do you know how many D1 missions revolved around picking up dead ghosts from fallen or hive
enough to have like 5 nickels
They were the collectibles for Grimoire cards
Wait till bro hears about the tangled shore currency
What do you think a Ghost tastes like?
Vanilla coomkie
Carmel
Chocalate
Probably what their shell is made of.
Tf is Turon
Mmmmm plantain and brown sugar egg roll
itâs not cannibalism if itâs robots
Put jackfruit or some ube and itâs amazing
Iâd eat ghosts if they tasted like turon
God Iâd be very disappointed if jackfruit is extinct in Destinyâs future
Ghosts are caramel filled chocolates
Eat your ghost
(Witness propaganda)
âJackfruit? Did they splice a guy named Jack into a plant?â
Those poor people donât know what delight theyâd be missing out on
Nuh uh
Still mad they didnât give us that armor, like cmon
We HAD the helmet
This games fashion economy would be 10x better if they just took a bunch of the starter loot from d1 and made it world drop armor
So how long till we get a working translator and people fluent in the new Dread language

I want Pilgrim Guard Armor
I don't care if the shoulders are asymmetrical. They are the best Titan Order
Depends, how long did warframes orokin take?
Given that Rasputin speaks in reversed Russian or something, are there any dialogue changes if you have Destiny set to Russian?
did they just changed the lore O_O?
Nezzy:
Created from Rhulkâs blueprint, Nezarec was the first Tormentor from which all others owe their lineage. Nezarec relishes in sowing fear and pain, feeding off the terror of sentient beings. He can induce nightmares across entire worlds.
Not at all? Where is this from?
Because Nezarec is his own distinct person, not at all related to Rhulk aside from both being Disciples of the Witness and somewhat sharing a coincidental likeness but not really
I though the same too
but new new info mean the lore just changed or we know nothing about Nezzy from the start
xD
I mean, him being explicitly a Tormentor was not confirmed
Hmmmmmmmm
I though Tormentor came from him
we just figured that Tormentors came form him
it didn't mena that Nezarec himself was exactly a Tormentor though
Y'know
we knew Rhulk was the one who annointed him into a Disciple
hmmm
This might not be a bad revelation
yeah it's not bad
And somewhat makes sense
but that part with him being made from Rhulk like that was new
just suprised
and Bungie just confirms here that Mithrax is fucking dying
like, no reveal at the start of a season/intro or whatever
just drops that info in a twab
so as far as we know, the whole Dread things could come from Rhulk O_O
Nezarec is clearly off his rockers and is along with the Witness' plans just for the fact that it allows him to cause the most misery. Perhaps the fact it was the Witness' copy of Rhulk explains this behavior, and why it only made the Tormentors once Calus - with an abundance of cloning technology and engineers - joined up with it.
maybe Nezarec originated from Uun
