there was only one warmind
There were subminds
Named differently
has she made an appearence?
In books and witch cutscene yes
This is the cutscene
Weāve also had voice lines from her since Seraph, as sheās been the main threat for that Season, Season of the Deep, and Witch
Oh yea those too
Destiny 2: Xivu Arath Speaks
Saturn's missing moon of Titan has returned, overrun with Taken and Hive searching for something at the bottom of its methane ocean. Guardians must follow them into the deep and beyond to uncover ancient secrets.
The Witness Has arrived, threatening the city, the Traveler and all of Sol. Aided by its newest discipl...
wait there's xivu lines in seraph?
Ye think so
No
Damn
We didnāt hear her ātil Deep
Yah my b
as a season of the seraph fan, i am disappointed in you
I still can't get over Saladin's absolutely half assed line delivery after Xivu's first line
"Noo..."
And yeah that's why it was such an OH SHIT moment when you're there in that intro mission and then suddenly someone's shouting at you and you realize who it is
Which just makes Saladin's subsequent line delivery funnier
I do not care
(But also my b!!!!!! I was gonna justify my mistake with it being the first time Xivu was presented a threat but then I remembered that was the whole point of Hunt and just didnāt type anything)
yeah that was amazing

so what could the "new darkness released" be? and what happens when the "witness" is no longer powerful
Could you clarify what you mean by "new Darkness released"?
As for the Witness, well, I imagine the Darkness will become free from its corruption and hold.
the leaks
Fuck yourself
unsent
Shitty thing to do, cāmon
Go away
Forgot decency?
Rules or not that's a shit thing to do
it won't happen again
i thought people knew cuz lucky made a video on it
lmao
and it got views
I donāt watch leaks
i thought yall saw
fair enough
"common decency" bro, calm down
i just aplogized
this is an appropriate response
Sis*
And no
Our response is warranted
and to the rest of yall, im sorry, ill remember to not ever talk about leak
sorry to offend anyone, or disturb or just have even the slightest negative effect on anyone's mood
even tho i unsent it, i cant really undo the reading part to whoever who read it
but for what it's worth, apologies
thankyou

What I miss
i talked abt a leak, unsent it
Inconsiderate person being inconsiderate
and got bashed for it
Bozo
i aplogized already sis
but yall aren't being good either
No rice Iām not going back to gator
Thatās just how this eris is
give someone a second chance after they actually fucking meant what they said when they apologized
genuinely speaking
to me personally, leaks dont effect me in any way, so i didn't take into consideration how others might be affected, im just a human, it was a leak, i forgot, a mistake was made
i genuinely feel bad bro
like idk man destiny 2 is like my favorite favorite game
and i didnt know
i just forgot
i havnt even played the damn game for almost 2 years now, i absolutely fan boy about it
i keep up to date abt lore, leaks anything, life's been extremely tough and kind of expensive (uni tuitions and shit) so i havnt been playing the game at alllll
anyways ill stop yapping, yes very womp womp of me
yall have a good day
Sorry you got exploded but it is something to reasonably be angry about; but I hope you have a good one and bring up any lore questions you might have
Wait how does Rice have an emote of one of your old pfps what
it was my mistake
Florida
What do you
Huh???!!?
Iām Floridian too what does
Is there a state server?
Thatād be sick
I wonāt
When cayde said his coming home ace was he talking about his gun or did hv a kid?
A kid.
Well, sort of.
Cayde's journal has stayed with him his entire life. All his lives, even prior to being a Guardian.
In it, he wrote of his Queen and his Ace. A lover and a child. But Cayde-6 doesn't remember them. Regardless, he... attached himself to the idea of them. Of who they were to him.
And by that idea, this pseudo relationship, he defined who he wanted to be.
That life with his Queen and his Ace was from when he was a Human in the Golden Age. Untold centuries ago. Lifetimes ago.
Ooh thatās actually interesting thxs maelstrom
i think you mean marl
Alright hereās the daily active lore question
How and when and if will spider sell the prison of elders back to the reef, he was chased off at some point after that so whoās running the prison now?
Thought he was selling it back to the awoken, there was a line drifter said in the warden strike
you sure that isnt about variks?
who was the warden for the prison up to that point iirc
yeah no i just checked there is no mention of spider having anything to do with the prison
apart from the bounties after the prison break during forsaken
Damn
honestly people just overestimate the importance of the PoE and expect it to be relevant
(it's not)
Tbf it has a pretty sick name for something so irrelevant
lots of old things are irrelevant
The idea was that Drifter would put together a crew for Spider, clear out the prison, and he'd sell it back to the Awoken.
Then we unknowingly did it for Drifter in Warden of Nothing.
guys
drifter's kinda taken the backseat
this season
any thoughts on what's going on about "keep playing the game" as the nine told him to do?
and what does he mean by "salvation" from playing "gambit" etc and all that
what'll happen
i used to remember
but ive forgotten things now
Name does not check out
U finna help me understand or not š?
No I just wanted to be an ass
Its okay
I'm a little rusty and I dont have a pc avaliable rn
We wonāt know unless thereās a Nine side story during one of the episodes they release with Final Shape, or if they do another episode after the first three around the Nine
Theyāve been very silent, tho thereās alibis for them trying to make moves in Sol as their original goal is to find a way to separate themselves from the system as their entire being is dependent on sentient life existing within the Sol System
Maybe theyāll make a push to grasp Paracausality so they can achieve their goal, and then their new founded independence goes to their head and they become the threat for an Episode or Expansion who knows
as i was reading ur paragraph, i do remember that they are dependent on existence or something
and it kinda added up
what if they do become, a threat, im guessing an expansion after episodes maybe
or what if they are more of a threat than the witness himself
man, stuff like this keeps me questioning "what's next"
but thanks for your insight

thanks G
what creature was this?
we have reason to believe it is the remains of a giant Hive worm
though we never see ones of that size ingame, we do get to see huge Hive worms chopped and encased in Rhulk's and the Witness' pyramids
Isn't Xita of similar size?
Xita is far larger.
Xita is the largest Worm we see I believe
Akka notwithstanding
though Akka could be a good contender
but we don't really get to see how large Akka really is
all we know is that the Dreadnaught was built around a piece of his corpse
Rhulk vs xivu arath?
We can't conclusively say. Not enough evidence or context.
Which goes for most [BLANK] vs [BLANK] scenarios
we would need to make a lot of assumptions that can go either way depending on how their abilities work
like would Xivu's presence overwhelm Rhulk and make him Wrathborn?
can Pervading Darkness affect Xivu Arath?
Pervading Darkness does seem to harm Cabal enemies (I've seen a psion die to it during the Tormentor boss fight in the Veil room)
but you know, gameplay vs lore
Randal
isnt the one in Vow bigger
That would be Xita
ah

she did what no one could ever

look at this shit, LIT
I mean that gif isnāt exactly a display of anything lmao
That glacier wall is Drifterās
i mean the hand twist rock thing
either ways, she's badass
did you just take that from destinypedia
what is this?
Also where does this fight take place?
This is the only part of the raid Iām doing so idk anything
well the point of the raid is killing crota
and you can only kill important hive in their throne world, where their soul survives after death in the regular world
and the big ball in the sky explodes and is called āoversoulā when it kills you
no, discord gif
His grandson. Elsie, Ana, and Willa's brother.
- The big broken spherical thing is called an Oversoul
Oryx brandished his sword. āSpeak the Royal Tongue, or Iāll pin you up for Eir to eat.ā
āIf we can separate our deaths from ourselves, and hide them, we will be hard to kill.ā
this excerpt above basically explains their purpose/what they are
- The Crota's End raid from the end of the first encounter takes place in Crota's Throne World
āSpeak the Royal Tongueā aka, Oryx is insecure about his daughters being smarter than him and saying things he doesnāt understand
Throne Worlds are domains within the Ascendant Plane shaped by powerful beings
in order to kill Crota for good we have to kill him in his Throne World
same thing aplied to Oryx
should note that Oryx's Throne World was stuffed inside of the Dreadnaught, so that is why simply killing Oryx in the Dreadnaught was enough
Is the Sparrow "Always On Time" still the fastest Sparrow (Ping or Dm)
Firstly, this is lore, not #ādestiny-questions. Secondly, no, they're all the same top speed. However, it does still have reduced enemy thread and more boost charge.
mb forgot to check the channel name before posting
thank for answering my question tho
XD
Daily lore question
Why was eris seen as the omen of bad things
Probably because that was kinda her deal for a while
She came back and started warning people about Crota. Then she started warning people about Oryx. And then she disappeared in the Red War, only to finally come back and immediately start warning about the Pyramids
Basically, because of her nature of preparing for these future threats, it just gives a general impression that when she shows up, sheās about to say some wild shit
Cool
I say this in the nicest way possible but she was literally a creepy witch hunched over in the corner constantly spouting about her magic rock that whispers to her
Also her association with Hive stuff would put off New Lights, though she's not totally as bad as Umun'Arath was
FINGERTIPS ON THE SURFACE OF MY MIIIND
does crota ever actually say anything?
Yea,
During his soul mission you can hear him faintly
I canāt hear anything from that
Listen to him again
sorry I canāt psychically osmose the things you experienced when you took a picture
real
Try harder
Is probably a stupid question but was Savathun using all her power in WQ final battle?
Because, I know our character killed gods and entities of enormous power but they were weakened but Savathun
She is just weak and we managed to kill a god or...?
I think it was because we shattered her focus/resolve
if I'm correct, at first during the fight we weren't able to do much damage to her until we revealed the truth about the creation of the Hive
We flabbergasted her to death
Also note that she was significantly weaker than her Hive God form when she became a Lightbearer, as she no longer had access to all of her tithe
To key into the tithe-Ascendent Power system, you need a worm, which Season of the Lost was all about removing Savathunās worm as it had gotten too greedy from the amount of imbaru tithe Sav provided it cosplaying in Osirisā body
Also the the centuries/millennia of tithe she had accrued
So basically we didn't killed a god and that "god" was weakened
any lore behind this thing near xur or is it just a thing in the game
2 questions
- Do civies of the last city come and watch crucible matches like itās a sporting event?
- If question 1 is true, do gunsmith companies sponsor guardians in the crucible if they make a big enough name for themselves? As in give them custom guns and armor?
Ghost: Hezen Protective. But I thought they were only deployed on Venus. Does this mean different Vex units have started traveling through gates? That's⦠not great.
Keep in mind this scan was from the Red War, years ago
Yes, and funny you should mention that
One sec
Ah I see
Anyway they could sponsor a Guardian if they wanted to, I'm sure
As long as they didn't push their boundaries
Thanks for the insight
Asking because I want to make a fan-comic about a fireteam, and one of them are good enough to the point that Halle started sponsoring them
Just trying to figure out what Hand cannon they would use. I feel like they would use something that is good on its own, but needs some serious skill to get the full use out of
Hakke is known for function over form. Their guns are simple but viciously efficient.
As a result, half of them are bricks of guns. As an example...
Pure Poetry. One of the Vanguard weapons, but it's a Hakke design. Huge, bulky, break-action.
They're not all break-action, mind you
Let's see if this will embed
No, fine, I'll download the damn picture
Thatās so funny ngl
which is why their armor department should never cook again
doesn't matter how reliable it is in lore, if it doesn't look good ingame, no one is gonna care
Deep Explorer sets absolutely slap though
Do we know what the whispers in the Europa stasis alter (at beyond) is saying? (Forgot itās old name)
I believe its called the Ziggurat
and I don't know for sure if we have an actual transcription on the whispers

It works for me
There isn't
Darkness whispers have been around since vanilla
They aren't actually words (despite what many claim to hear)
Nuh uh, I can hear them
Those whispers are trying to tell people about the 16th Wish

Wait is cuirass lore just a guardian and a cabal talking about the one time the cabal saw someone use thundercrash?
Aah... no. Not quite.
pretty sure itās part of a trilogy of lore tabs where the cabal saves the guardian from death but the vanguard rescue squad kills the cabal during extraction
I believe Curiass was one part of a three-part story
waltz
itās a fun story
the other two parts were in the other two exotic armor pieces released during that season

What's up with Drifter's unique taste in food?
He starved to death over and over and over and over and over again in the Dark Age

developed a bit of a complex
https://youtu.be/cciLt_d3Lo4?si=O_tkKkli6Sou_eRi
This is real dialogue from a real mission but with a fanmade cutscene. Enjoy.
The Drifter has a horrible life. I animated it.
Do you play Destiny 2? Then you should play Gambit.
That fan animation was genuinely impressive
That town was where he used a name you may have heard him called by - Germaine.
And that Iron Lord, Lord Dryden...
Germaine?
Germaine. Drifter has had many names.
Drifter sought out the Darkhorse of the Iron Lords. The one who took it upon himself to punish those who broke their Iron Decree.
Lord Felwinter.
Drifter owned a bar too back in the day
And Drifter pointed Lord Felwinter at Lord Dryden, who used the village of Eaton as a staging ground for an ambush... and caused it to burn to the ground.
such as āsad rat man who lives in basementā

As for Drifter's... eating habits. Well, this is also relevant.

He had been reduced to crawling. His Ghost cut serenely through the air above him.
"What the hell is wrong with me?" he demanded of the ground.
"You're dying from starvation," Ghost said flatly.
"I don't believe you," he sneered, as he dragged himself over some rocks.
"I could fix you," Ghost said.
Yeah, he never trusted his Ghost. Still doesn't.

So real

Whatās the y-goblet?
From what I could gather, it's a goblet through which Psions honored their ancestors as well as gave offerings
I'm pulling from Destinypedia but thankfully the part which covers the Y-goblet has numerous entries to reference, particularly the lore book Confessions
Specifically, the first paragraph of each entry begins with an offering to the y-goblet in order to pass that offering to one's ancestors for use in the afterlife
The subtitle History does a short rundown on what the practices suggest, though from brief scrolling through the ishtar entries, this is itself an assumption made by Destinypedia
https://www.destinypedia.com/Psion#History
Welcome! Actually really glad d-pedia came through with this one because it's such a simple but intriguing portion of Psion culture, especially considering the Y-goblet faith almost parallels Filipino mythology prior to the missionaries of Spain influencing the region
What's important to know about nezarec? I'm playing lightfall post-campaing and they are mentioning them every time and I'm very confused
would outbreak be any stronger lorewise if it wasnt a useable weapon in the gam
Lore wise it be about as strong as, I guess any siva splicer weapon?
Like the siva clouds in this scene
But not like them cause they werenāt programmed to do what the siva clouds did
Basically heās another powerful big bad and you kill him in Lightfallās raid, Root of Nightmares
He was the one the Lunar Pyramid belonged to, he also has (reportedly) great power over Light and Darkness (though we never get to really see the full extent of this as his boss battle in Root of Nightmares is him in a just grown body)
Going back to that first bit, he has extreme psychic powers which he almost exclusively uses to torment others
Lore question: how do Ghosts get their shells? do they just come out of the Traveller with a shell or do they pick up pieces of scrap and use that as their shell until their Guardian gives them a better one?
The default shell is the one they just had then they first were created.
Any other shells are generally created for them
hm. I wonder if the citizens of the last city have a festival or something where they make ghost shells for those who had their's shells damaged or just want a new shell
None that I'm aware of. They're usually done on more individual bases.
so, the old tower, ig we will only be seeing it in the traveler?
If by seeing you mean interacting with, as far as we know, yes.
But we can see the D1 Tower from the modern "Tower", such as it is.
Well, it's under repair. Though, it has been for years.
If we do, it'll be after the events of Final Shape.
are saint 14 and osiris a couple
Aye
I don't know why but I cannot stop seeing this and thinking "hop on destiny"
Like those fucking gif memes
Hop on Fortnite
hop on kirby's return to dreamland deluxe merry magololand checkerboard chase high speed intense
i pity you
It is a good game tho, Return to Dreamland is also good
Also going back to the Tower discussion, there are small adjustments to highways and roads which take maybe even a decade to complete, so I think itās perfectly reasonable for the og Tower to be taking so long to get fully repaired
There has got to be three construction companies who were hired to work on it, and twenty or so different concepts of what to do with the space left after the Towerās destruction
did savathun go inside osiris or smth
Savathun possessed Osiris after she found him āLost and Lightlessā after the incident with the High Celebrant on the Moon, so kinda?
Would you call using a computer being "inside it"?
she was physically inside of his skin
at the time of Lost when she revealed herself was the only time Osiris was āabsentā
oh
At the end the spider sold the prison of elders to the awoken? I just did the Warden Of Nothing strike and there was this dialogue talking about that

Nothing really came of it, there have been no updates to the status of the Prison of Elders considering the massive break-out and consistent escapees which had to be put down by wandering Guardians on the Reef
Bai catte
Gn lads
Pretty much.
Oh lore nerds, please indulge me
Are taken the Witness's army?
Well, the Witness was commanding them. Now they're aimless, as the Witness has abandoned them.
That's a shame, thanks for the clarification
Would be cool a scenario were they didn't bought it and the Drifter now uses it for its gambit
Gotta wonder what kind of energy drifter is handling, that he had to make the taken thingy to contain it
hence why malfeasance uses taken energy he and us built the HC together iirc?
season of the wish logo look like Sikhism (khalistan) logo for religion, anyone know ?
its just upsidedown
I highly doubt there's any correlation there
i just tought there might be similar bacground story somwhere
how many egg was in the story ?
let's see

then I think there was one for each week of the seasonal story
that's like what 6?
5?
i thought theres similarity about how the story begin
one of the Guru from Sikh religion had 6 kids
what if ???
one of the developer is indian sikh, and planted those symbol and input some of sikh history in it ?

If you're suggesting a connection, then no.
Destiny certainly has religious influences in some of its lore
But this aināt one of them
Those symbols are only incredibly vaguely similar
Alright itās that time again
Daily lore question
Who is Mraskilaasan (lord of wolves lore end)
Probably just a form of Mithrax if I had to guess
the captain in the lore tab is literally just Mithrax so
The Gentle Weavers. The House that became the House of Wolves.
Mraskilaasan. Gentle weavers.
I'd actually be interested to hear how the original story went, see if there's any parallels aside from kids and the symbol similarity
so, Mithrax's mother was called the kell of wolves, but also only controlled one ship. Do we know whether she was the original kell of weavers and lost contact with the rest of her house during the whirlwind and the long drift, or if her ketch thought they were the only survivors of the house of weavers and made her kell as she was the leader of that group?
The House of Wolves were extensive enough that we've spent a whole expansion with the same titular name wiping out the house after its then Kell Skolas declared independence from Mara's service and the House rebelled across the Reef, so it doesn't seem likely that they were limited to only one Ketch
As for if she was the original Kell of Wolves who fled the Whirlwind, we don't know for sure. Eramis and Variks could suggest that yes, Inaaks could have been the original Kell from before the Whirlwind (we'd be damned if we knew the first Kell of the Gentle Weavers as we barely have any information on Riis' culture prior to the Whirlwind) however there's nothing to really confirm nor deny that claim. She could have easily just have been the most recently appointed Kell of Wolves during the Long Drift
also, we know that riis was devastated by the whirlwind, but not like, kabloomy'd, did any lore books tell us the fate of the eliksni colonies if any actually survived the whirlwind and the hive or is that not been revealed yet?
or do we already know that all the pre whirlwind colonies were similarly devastated by the hive and that any eliksni presence left in their home system and neighboring systems is resettled later?
It is kabloomy'd to the extent that it would not be worth the effort to return
Consider that the Hive and the Witness' forces have wiped out entire civilizations, so either of which's visitation upon the planet would essentially doom it
There also isn't any definitive evidence that the Hive were actually involved, merely light implication.
The Hive have not been mentioned or implied to be involved with the Whirlwind since Taken King
The only evidence is only the fact that Chelchis - Kell of Stone - is mentioned in the name of one of the Kingsfall weapons, right?
Pretty much
And also that his perspective is given for how it's like to be Taken, aside from Quria
I think
Taken? No.
Or I might be getting it mixed with Quria and their simulation of Aurash
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/items/broken-crown
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/items/doom-of-chelchis-5
The implications, respectively
Ye aight, literally just Chelchis, Chad of Chads, the Kell of Stone, facing off against Oryx/the Witness/whatever the Maw is referencing whilst the Eliksni escape
Oh I wonder how Ishtar's going about with weapons pulled from D1 expansions into D2, Doom of Chelchis just has this banner but I imagine it's awkward to source both directly from the API
do we know what the hive does to worlds they conquer?
like do they colonize and settle it and that they have a string of worlds under their control from fundament to sol, or do they just wipe out whoever lives there and move on?
They might do all sorts of stuff with em
Just settle there as a base for breeding more worms or do experiments
Maybe theyll turn it into a warmoon
Also an option
For sure they kill any native life on the planet, the Book of Sorrows insinuates as much with how many civilizations blessed by the Traveler they have wholesale slaughtered
Plus the infectious nature of which they grow their structures, which is sure to compete with native life
At least I think itās infectious, there are enough moments where Hive-grown structured prove themselves to be an issue - a good example being the room with Cayde trying to press all the buttons and the Guardian has to unclog the tech panel things of Hive growths
God Warmoons are such a cool aspect of destiny that Bungie has literally never used in the game
I mean yeah their scale would only really make sense in an expansion
||do we have to use spoiler marks here?||
No
You did read the rules, didn't ya?
We got spoiler chats upon releases of dlc for a short period
Ok

Yes, yes, and yes
Well, sort of. I'll elaborate.
The Thorn we use in D2 is one that we produced ourselves. We made it, cursed it, and wield it. It is a controlled, harnessed version of the original Light-engulfing Thorn.
One day, we found the actual Thorn. A burnt out blackened husk of what it once was. We began to work on it, cleansing it of corruption, eventually reverting it back into Rose. From there, we blessed it, and turned it into Lumina.
Lumina is the actual real Thorn, purified.
Any Rose that we use now, therefore, is a replica of the original, which is now Lumina.
Ok, that all makes sense. Do you believe that necrochasm is the form the inferno (dredgen yorās auto rifle) took?
No, I don't.
It is said the Necrochasm was born in the twilight after Crotaās sword first cracked the Moon. That a lost Guardianās weapon was altered by the Hive in an attempt to fuse their own dark understanding with humanityās mastery of war.
Rose's transformation into Thorn began prior to the Great Disaster, for starters. Secondly, if the story is true, then this weapon was that from a Guardian killed during the aformentioned Great Disaster, and stolen by the Hive. Enkaar, the Anointed, the very same Hive weapon master who tried to create another Weapon of Sorrow back in the Season of the Forge.
Alright. So with the weapons of sorrow, were they all made from old weapons? What happened to inferno? Does lumina have a trio like thorn?
Weapons of Sorrow are, by their vague-yet-specific definition, human weapons transformed by the Hive.
We do not know what happened to the Inferno. Rezyl Azzir abandoned it on the Moon during his battle that eventually led to his corruption.
And I'm not sure what you mean by "trio"
Sorry I meant like how thereās 3 weapons of sorrow, is there a group with lumina in it?
The colloquial is "Weapons of Hope" but there's no official definition for this category. One could argue that the Traveler's Chosen and Hawkmoon are similar enough, though.
I decided to get a bit more in depth. Let's look at some of the individual pieces
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/legend-rezyl-azzir-the-triumphant-fall
He gave a shrug and shake, turned and hammered the stock hard into the side of one creatureās temple. Its skull splintered and the stock lodged deep in the wet, chalky mass beneath the bone. He made a fleeting effort to break the rifle free, but had to let it fall away as the rush of demons increased.
So! First, the Inferno was abandoned in that fated cave which Rezyl Azzir battled in.
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/necrochasm
It is said the Necrochasm was born in the twilight after Crotaās sword first cracked the Moon. That a lost Guardianās weapon was altered by the Hive in an attempt to fuse their own dark understanding with humanityās mastery of war.
If this tale is true, then Necrochasm was born in the wake of the Great Disaster.
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/necrochasm
Enkaar, the Anointed
The Necrochasm was created by Enkaar, the Anointed. The very same Hive weapon smith we defeated when we summoned Last Word to our side in that shadowed duel below the dust of the Forsaken Shore.
So - Rezyl lost Inferno before the Great Disaster.
Necrochasm, however - or at least Husk of the Pit - was, according to the tale, created directly following the Great Disaster, from a weapon from a lost Guardian.
Now, I'll admit, there's no hard evidence here. It could be Inferno. But given the timing, the logical conclusion is that it was most likely a completely random auto rifle from some poor lost soul, a casualty of the Great Disaster.
Ok wow. I think inferno may have been some sort of early ammit, as we see a lot of autos with that frame so it couldāve been a common weapon at the time
Iām probably wrong but just putting it out there
You're gonna have to follow up on that one
Do you have an image of Inferno's frame, or are you referring to Husk of the Pit/Necrochasm?
Iāll do some research and DM you later. Iām gonna get some sleep now
Referring to what the inferno auto rifle was
Adios
Right, but we haven't seen Inferno.
I will look through every auto
We cannot reasonably state what it may have been unless comparing Husk of the Pit/Necrochasm, which is unlikely to be the end-result of Inferno regardless
It's a shot in the dark, in other words
A dark below
Interesting
Would it be connected to drifter and gambit because dredgen?
probably not
while Drifter was a part of the Shadows of Yor briefly, that group mainly used Thorn replicas
also, at this point, Drifter had left the group behind long ago
him giving out the Dredgen titles through Gambit was just a way to piss off and lure out the "edgelord" types so they can be picked off by Shin or the Praxics
not just that, he called himself dredgen hope of all things
Lumina's creation was mainly our own doing
though Shin did guide us a little bit, it was mostly us figuring it out
Iāll have the last word in this conversation.
however, there was one step in the Lumina quest that required you to do something in gambit
The thorny side of lumina
as the saying goes, every rose has its lumina
That was purposefully done in coordination with Shin staging the killing of essentially the vice president of the Dredgen Yor fan club; it gave new meaning to the title of Dredgen so its former meaning would be forgotten
Callum Sol was the one that got vaporized yes
Speaking of which, I really hate gambit is malfeasance worth it? (Iām on titan so no lucky pants)
Malfeasance Iām pretty sure has its quest take you through the Dreaming City, but I literally havenāt progressed the quest in forever because it used to be the best thrallway farm; you might find a better answer in #ādestiny-questions
Im about to say something spicy
Cayde gets killed by Uldren. Uldren becomes Crow and a Gaurdian
We see Cayde inside the Traveller in the Beyond Light trailer
Final Shape.
^ whoops
If Cayde meets Crow somehow. There will definitely be a conversation
So much for saying something spicy.
I'm not sure I'd say that was spicy, no. It's almost a given, really.
I froze wondering about spoiler territory.
Its a live service game so any news is pretty much late news but
When it comes to this server, there's generally no spoilers except for major releases, where a new channel is opened up. Only lasts... a week or so.
Yikes
Its week 10. Crows fate in the story had more ceremony than Halloway. The only real question is how will we see the story progress
I mean did you ever talk to Holliday? Like ever?
Yes.
Spicy
āOooo what if Cayde and Crow talked because Uldren killed Caydeā
It canāt be spoiler territory because Final Shape hasnāt been released yet
If tfs cayde is lore accurate
We're gonna have to save crows life
Mmm I donāt think so
Lore cayde is fucking ruthless
if crow thought everyone had something against him, just he waits until he meets lore Cayde
the children yearn for lore-6 exposure š
Lore Cayde shot at a child in his pre-guardian life he doesnāt get to rag on anyone elseās mortal existence
every meme about it is with the cropped audio
I made it from scratch (now in a glorious 1080p video)
trip to belize moment
nice
Yeah because he was blind as shit not realizing the reason an intruder is small could possibly be because they're a child
He's not actively seeking children to slaughter, "Lore" Cayde is the same doofus you know but also you see the depression he's hiding behind his comedy
he also as a guardian killed a friendly... archon i believe?
he's had multiple cases of just being rutheless
he's not evil, no
thats different
but he's not particularly shy from violence
Majority of the Guardian population committed warcrimes, just saying yall blowing it out of proportion the interaction he and Crow will have
and sure, the archon was friendly, but still a fallen archon
other guardians being better or worse changes nothing how cayde himself is
im not saying he'll just outright kill-kill crow
my personal theory is that he'll kill crow, realize he's a guardian, maybe slow down a bit then
how is he able to shoot inches away from their head if he doesnāt see how tall they are
assuming he isnt a cayde made entierly out of crows perception of cayde of course
given what we know about the whole thing its... possible i guess
but thats a rather far fetch from me
It's a Christmas miracle! Animated by @LankyMF go get 'im.
Also da song is on streaming services, yummy!
Wait I should time stamp it
Iām not watching that out of principle
What
oh god you did
Am I missing something here
What do yall mean we were just citing Cayde shooting at a child
also for the record my statement was literally about why I didnāt think crow and cayde would have some big epic deathmatch meeting
theyāve both made their own mistakes and I honestly donāt think bungie would open the sagaās final dlc with two characters fighting for essentially no reason
if weāre getting a more mature take on Caydeās character he wouldnāt be pissy about being killed in a way thatās entirely his own fault
I'd think he and Crow could have a depressed chuckle about how Uldren was manipulated into killing Cayde
exactly
though I wish bungie would at least establish what the deal with Ana is on her adopting her old identity
compared to crow sheās basically just pretending
crow and cayde could definetly leave a opportunity to improve on both of the characters
Sometimes accepting a preestablished identity is easier that making a new one, that's the vibe I got from Ana trying to be the same as she was before
THat or just, discovering the same things from her old life and also enjoying them regardless of starting over
she wouldnt have been "making" a new one if she didnt try what shes doing now
it would be her taking the identity shes been forcibly given now
I mean I get sheās always called herself Ana Bray because she was rezzed with an id card on her, she always knew that
but while crow has been on a whole journey about discovering Uldren, Ana and everyone around her just decided āyes you are THE Ana bray so nothing is different nowā
I donāt think Elsie and Ana have had one conversation about her being dead at one point
She has that big deal about researching about her past life in a time where it was still fairly scrutinized, essentially doing the old fashion version of what Crow went through
Which is curious that I can't recall any interaction between Ana and Crow because it feels like they'd have a lot to share; only reason I can see they don't talk to each other is because they're both so focused on Getting Stuff Done as a part of their personality that they don't really sit down and talk
I mean for two years Anaās entire character was āI am bringing Rasputin backā so
Ye exactly
I just wish they did something more
Donāt worry I got you
Ana
Iām bringing Rasputin back AGAIN
And this time he is blue
Holliday barely gets a cutscene to let you know she died. If i wasnt playing that season i wouldnāt even know who she was
Her interactions with the players generally happened before Beyond Light.
Why does some of Mars look weird?
When Beyond Light launched, the Black Fleet stole four of our celestial bodies. Mars, Mercury, Titan, and Io. In their place was black anomalous voids that held the same gravitational pull as that which they replaced.
During this time, the Witness was scouring Mars and Titan (and probably Mercury and Io) with time rifts, possibly powered by The Relic inside The Enclave.
It was searching for evidence of The Veil, which it eventually found with the Spire of the Watcher.
The "weird" that you see are remnant time windows left over from when Savathƻn, somehow, forced Mars to return to real space before the Witness was finished with it.
How did a whole race become the witness?
Ahsa explains it best
using darkness pretty much
"Before you can confront The Witness, you must understand it."

weird that this was just a random cutscene
Not too random. The entire season was building up to it.
A proto-worm
Ahsa refused to become what became of the Worm Gods we know
i thought it was a leviathan
Nope
Ahsa matches conventional descriptions of Leviathan - the mythological creature - which is what people use to make a connection to the Leviathan from the origins of the Hive God siblings, as well as some wording referencing the Leviathan jailing them in-spite of some sort of connection I believe
Devrim moment
Just a proto-Worm. We've never explicitly heard of a second creature like the Fundament Leviathan, and no creature matches its description.
The main connecting thread between Ahsa and the Leviathan is that they're both big, live in "water", and have (very distinct) connections to the Worm Gods.
Personally, I see no true connection.
This deserves to be pinned
comically small wings
huh, looks like a sea anemone
rad, thanks
I swear, thereās some tabs from Ahsaās perspective on the Worm Gods being betrayed by the proto-worms or something to that effect, do you recall anything like that?
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/siochains-scuba-shell
I'd venture that you're misremembering the contents of this entry
For Ghosts who are acclimated to the pressures of the job, and the depths.
ā
Ahsa settled from a long journey within an undersea cavern, pocketed by air. SĆochĆ”in surveyed the mix of ancient rig foundations and natural stone. It seemed quiet enough, and Sloane needed rest. No Hive barnacles grew there. Ahsa had swam far from the largest concentr...
Wherein the Proto Worms are offered gifts of Darkness, and the beginnings of the Worm Gods are seen as a result.
Mmm yeah, I remember reading a lot of conflicting interpretations, that sounds about right
You guys excited for bungee to have some real bullshit way to tie everything together
At the end of the dlc cayde-6 looks at you after youāve killed the witness and says āmaybe the final shape was the friends we made along the wayā

destiny players will experience a single bad story and doompost for every upcoming content drop
This really was your Destiny 2 Final shape (2024)
What is the lore behind this?

no

What about this?
You can stop
Wait i made one for nezzy yesterday
Good for you
you posted this before no? It was deemed NSFW apparently?
So you just decided to say that again
i thought i recognised you from somewhere

@sick yew
Whats this now
@sick yew
thanks

@turbid furnace Please keep to actual lore in this channel alright? And ontop of that please do not discuss actions that have been taken such as warnings and or strikes
š
Anyways
No anyways (this channel shall forever be dead)
itās dead until I say the magic words
āIs the Witness the Winnowerā
nah itās actually āthe traveler is evilā
Is Coldheart strand

Thanks
coldheart should be solar actually
Wait who is is Reed again?
who is you again
Yes
Member of the fireteam with Aisha and Shayura
also dead yes?
Yeah
I love dead titans
He regrets dying probs
⦠he died his Final Death in the opening cutscene of Lightfallās campaign
huh?
uhhh
His ghost was out when the Witness did itās slicing thing, which is why Shayura and Aisha are mourning his loss in their more recent lore
Theirs werenāt which is why they were able to Rez
oh yeah that guy
thought you were referring to the guy in deep and got real confused
That one was Joxer, also a Titan and he used to be a Gambit regular
He has a couple other stuff that happens, similar to the Trials trio, but otherwise yeah thatās all thatās important I believe
i cant imagine how the drifter feels after losing his only gambit player
he still has me
guys can nyone explain what race are tormentors like what creatures are they?
They are created from some of Nezarecās tissue and Calusā cloning technology supposedly; all we get on the matter is Calusā voiceline during the Lightfall campaign about them being a collaborative effort between him and the Witness
This is also supported by the fact the relics we gathered in Season of Plunder were cut up pieces of Nezarecās body when they first entered the Sol System
This is the Datamined Nezarec Cutscene For Season 18 (Season of the Plunder)

Nezarecās corpse had been housed within the Lunar Pyramid, which the Fallen came upon and realized held immense power - when we collect them in the Season we find large readings of Darkness within them, which Misraaks is able to distill into a cure to reawaken Osiris
As the threat of Xivu Arath looms, Mithrax has taken time to study the secrets of Nezarec's relics.

Itās also important to note that Nezarec has multiple tombs as hinted by the Delicate Tomb seasonal exoticās lore tab, and he is able to speak to us after his death in the Root of Nightmares raid, suggesting he is able to change corporeal vessels and his true form is incorporeal
thats absolutely so messedup but cool
this part especially
witness was basically playing mad scientist type shit
well, it's made up of the butchered remains of an entire civilization as part of a mass suicide/murder ritual
Calus was, Witness just needed stronger bodies to throw in our way
Though I guess the Taken demonstrate that itās equally capable of fucking around with a living beingās structure to make it more effective at killing
Thought at that point theyāre essentially ghouls made of Ascendent Energy vaguely in the same shape as their former body
witness is literally just "we can fix you"
irreparably turns you into an eldritch mutt
i do still love all the grimoire cards for the individual taken units
they literally all boil down to "here's why you're a piece of shit but now you're better so go stan this evil moth man"
There's something very funny I can say about conservatives considering all the Trans Oryx jokes
However, rule 2

random question, but I got into D2 after Lightfall came out. Is there any content I can play that has Lakshmi-2?
haven't played in a few months
Nope
why does the first result have to be the one that switches to "he knows"
darn. I just learned Avasarala's actress was in D2, and had to see which character it was

Well, thing is
that bitch dead as hell man
yeah, figured that was the case
She tried to outcast the House of Light, riled up the entire city into a frenzy, and tried to stage a coup
And then got shot by a Vex as she tried to toss the Eliksni through a Vex portal
wait, is her body lying somewhere in the game?
Sheās got a cool voice though fr
Not anymore
It was like 3 years ago
not anymore, but you were able to see it back when it happened
Oh my God it was 3 years ago
though for some reason I have a lot of trouble remembering how to spell Shohreh Aghdashloo

though the main reason I asked "playable content", was because I wasn't sure exactly when she died, and if she might be in an expansion that was still in the game
I remember hearing her voice in some ads for an Assassin's Creed game I think
she's in Arcane
She died in Season of the Splicer, and Seasonal content is removed at the launch of the following expansion
though I mostly know her from The Expanse
So Defiance, Deep, Witch, and Wish, will all be removed when FS drops
the Faction Leaders were hardly touched upon throughout D2
I should probably get around to playing Witch and Wish. I haven't played for some time >.>
You've got until June to experience them before they're removed
mm'kay, time to forget about them until it's too late
has crow made any appearance?
Yes
What do you mean?
like was he shown in any cutscene or does he stay in the abyss like xivu arath
da fuq
Yes, he was in this season. (Spoiler ahead) ||He was sent through the portal, into the Traveler.||
i feel like yall telling me the witness is crowā ļø

Crow has been a major character in multiple seasons since Season of the Hunt
Not to mention his past life Uldren has been around since Destiny 1
And we know basically everything about his life from lore
i dont know anything about him
oh he's uldren?
Was, yes
uldren was killed right?
We killed Uldren in Forsaken, and later a Ghost resurrected him
Guardians are born without their memories of who they were, so Crow was essentially a blank slate. He got to grow through different experiences into a different person
is that the old uldren or crow?
Interestingly, Crow did receive Uldrenās memories again through SavathĆ»n, but they donāt just turn him back into his past life, as he has all these new experienced and such that shaped him differently
oh nice
and is eris a guardian?
He was initially incredibly ashamed of Uldren, but learned to grow and accept the good and bad. He talks fondly of certain memories of Uldrenās, and seeks the responsibility of fixing what Uldren broke
actually
Technically kinda? She was a Lightbearer, and thus a Guardian, but she lost her Light centuries ago in the Hellmouth. However she still defends the Last City and still calls herself Hunter so
tell me about eris
hellmouth?
The Hive burrowed into the moon and created an endless sea of caverns and structures that they operate out of
Erisā fireteam delved into the Hellmouth to attempt to assassinate Crota, but one by one they were lost
Erisā Ghost sacrificed herself as the Hive were tracking Erisā Light. A Lightless Eris wished on her Ahamkara bone to discover the way out
The wish helped her, but the monkeyās paw of the wish stole her sight
So she stole the eyes of an Acolyte
kind of similar to osiris's story
ig
A little bit yeah
a wierd question but do guardians not age or something?
u mentioned eris lost her light centuries ago
Lightbearers donāt age, however I believe itās kinda unknown whether this effect extends to Lightless Guardians
Perhaps Erisā situation is because of Hive magic? We donāt really know
Itās also worth mentioning that humans have extended lifespans thanks to the Traveler
Heās literally introduced in a Cutscene, at the tail end of Season of Arrivals and the first one of Season of the Hunt, and one of his most important character moments was when he jumped in the way of Zavalaās assassin in Season of the Chosen, boyās been at work
crow wasnāt in arrivals whatsoever
his first ingame appearance was Hunt, youāre thinking of the seraph ending
He appeared in a cutscene 5 years ago
Blind eris jumpin an ecolyte and winning
My girl
Eris is bae
Blind Lightless Guardian vs Lethal Alien Creature probably armed, that acolyte was humiliated
And talking about you said about Lightless guardians, that means we maybe can see Osiris die in the future?
And with that, Lightless guardians are just normal humans/exo/awoken again?
Kinda
Okey now I have more respect for Osiris, and damn
Eris a regular human using hive magic and darkness powers
Itās worth noting that Osiris was capable of perceiving the concentrations of the Weave like we were, yet Nimbus and the rest of the Neomuni were not. So perhaps thereās some sort of lingering effect?
Also as I said we donāt know if their ageing continues to be halted or perhaps slowed
Yep, If it actually affects them I guess we would have to wait more years, Osiris has been Lightless just some years or...?
He lost his Light 4 years ago, however he was impersonated by Savathƻn for a whole year afterwards, and then in a coma for another year basically
Itās also important that Osiris, Eris, and Shin Malphur are the only Lightless Guardians we have any real information on; Osiris has only been Lightless for four years so we canāt really depend on his current experience to inform us on Lightless Guardians, and as Eris has mentioned, Eris practices Hive Magic which means she has a potential additional variable.
And Shin
Shinās fucking weird
Rezzed as a baby during the Collapse/Dark Age, he grew up into adulthood and was active during Forsaken/Shadowkeep, so he could prove that Lightless guardians still retain some of that immortality but at the same time he is 1) only one single Lightless guardian, which doesnāt provide enough samples to allow us to make any substantial claims, and 2) he had only been a Lightless guardian all his life, he has never had a previous life, so he canāt be representative of Guardians who lived their own life, died, and then rezzed
thats effed up
there's so much going on
In fairness thatās the bread and butter of Destiny, having a ton of shit going on and having stuff fall into place sequentially
true
its like "you know ull have questions, but hey, they'll get answered"
ironic but also, there's no other way
im thinking too hard right now i need to stop
Realest lore moment, mind racing and you need to forcibly shut down
Nowhere near the Collapse
Shin was late Dark Age/City Age
Thanks I wasn't sure if I was just assuming Collapse from the refugees being rushed down by Eliksni

The Witness is an interesting entity
I really love its design
Yeah itās starting to grow on me
I genuinely hope Final Shape cements it as an interesting and terrifying villain in its own right too
Because it is a little bland currently
I like how the witness is mysterious
Like we donāt know much
Is The Witness gonna be a raid boss?
Yes
it HAS to be hard
but
it probably wont be
they can do some real wacky stuff with this raid
To who
probably not
we have almost never gotten a major story protagonist as a raid boss other than oryx
i'm fairly certain they outright said it will be
and oryx we only got after killing him once
ooh
Wouldnāt feel right as a campaign boss honestly
Itās both
I hope the raid is challenging in some type of way
did my boy calus dirty
6 years of build up
6 years
Imo I did not like his design
for him to be a campaign boss in the most mid campaign of the game]
I think Calus was done fine in Lightfall
he wasn't really built up to be a boss
90% of his experience with us, he was a dying bag of pale flesh
Heās a pathetic character who got a fittingly pathetic end, clawing at purpose and meaning and never finding it
He spent all that time and energy pursuing joining the Witness. Pursuing Disciplehood. But when he got it, he was unsatisfied
The only thing that finally roused Calus in the end was getting to fight us properly like a true Cabal
can someone what happened to rasputin again
Didnāt he sacrifice himself in Seraph or something like that?
Correct
Eramis and Xivu sought to use his arsenal against the Last City/the Traveler
Ah ok
So he sacrificed himself to destroy all his WARSATs and make it so no one could use him and his arsenal against humanity
also because Rasputin knew that he couldn't just use it against them since it would make Xivu Arath stronger
We did him dirty twice before, when he was parading a robot puppet of himself and again when he tried to harness the power of the Lunar Pyramidās Nightmares, goomba stomp the narcissist bad
What is above Thrall in the hive
probably anything else
except for maybe Cursed Thrall
a Thrall will either develop into an acolyte or will be transformed into an ogre
assuming they aren't put through the torturpus process of becoming an ogre and instead grow into an acolyte, they can either develop further into a Knight or Wizard
of course there are some alternative instances like how Enkarr, a renowned Hive weaponsmith, was an acolyte
Who is the Osmium King exactly?
Proto-Hive! Now referred to as Krill due to circumstances that make me go
He was the father of the siblings Xivu, Sav, and Oryx. Or as they were at the time, Xi Ro, Sathona, and Aurash.
Oh so is that material in Savathun's throne world somehow related to them?
Something Osmium?
Proto-Hive only lived for ten years on average. Senility has claimed my lord the Osmium King. He is ten, and mad. The study of ancient text consumes him. Today he raves about moons above the storm. Tomorrow he will wander the halls, speaking to his familiar, a dead white worm from the deep sea. He keeps it in glass, and he tends to it, and he neglects the duties of a king.
The Osmium King ruled the Osmium Court, the home and kingdom of this particular group of Proto-Hive.
In other words, it's related to Fundament - or rather, that particular land on Fundament.
The Osmium King went mad, whispering to a Worm-spawn which whispered to him in return.
The same Savathƻn acquired, and used to find the Worm Gods.
Wait so Proto-hive? Is there like a certain distinction between him and his daughters?
Other than lifespan?
Hive weren't Hive before the Worm parasites got involved.
They were Proto-Hive, or "Krill".
The siblings were the same, before they dived deep into the oceans and found the Worm Gods.
Thank you
What/who is he?
The skull? The remains of a ahamkara, in simpler terms they are trickster genies, but shape-shifting dragons
Wow uke, you really are in all the chats!
That's either Huginn or Muninn. An Ahamkara pair who knew Sjur Eido. When Sjur "died", she was found with their remains.
Is that Caiatl next to Calus?
Presumably, given the context, yes.
Go to the Moon and look up.
Who is this in the picture
nobody important
at all
it's literally just an old painting in an old european town
do you know how many portraits there are in the world
We do not know.
Itās me
kind of unrelated but you know those old stories about this painting of a crying boy that people would always find untouched in burned down houses, so they started believing it was a curse
when it just turned out all the paintings were fire resistant and just fell down onto the floor before they could be burned
that and it was just an incredibly popular painting so everybody had it, and nobody was smart about fire safety back then so everybody was burning down their houses
i thought all female cabal had tusks
are they grown when they get older
Mmmmm Lightfall Collectorās Edition (probably found in pins)
Dova or anyone who read the LF CE, does Caital section elaborate on the development cycle of Cabal or is there only the barracks beau part and also how males carry the baby to term?
The Deep is another moniker for the Witness, it was the Voice in the Darkness that for a majority of Destinyās history has been the cause for most corruption via the Darkness
Which is important as Darkness itself isnāt inherently corruptive in nature, it was mostly just the Witness pushing its will through the Darkness that made it so corruptive in the past
Beyond Light and Lightfall further explore this with the new subclasses as both are Darkness derived and demonstrate that the Darkness is not inherently evil
okay but how are the worms god related to the witness?
and when oryx kills his worm god what happens to the others
Wdym āhis worm godā?
Thereās more than 3 Worm Gods, and to my knowledge the Hive Gods didnāt have patron Worm Gods
The Deep title does refer to how the Worm Gods were imprisoned deep in the oceans of Fundament, they themselves being coerced and bribed into carrying out its plan to make the Hive into what they are today
didnt the hive siblings make a pact with the worm gods for power?
thats why oryx was destroying worlds to feed his worm
All Hive have a normal worm
