I wear the void, and through this empathy, I learn that only my will endures.
â
I have failed you, my Witness.
I taught the Ahslid to build a tower to heaven upon a foundation of sand. I hemmed for 10 long cycles over that final lesson in irrelevance, and in the end, my pupils exceeded my ability as a teacher. They tumbled. A sunset of atomic fi...
here's an interesting lore question for you guys
So rhulk brought them into a golden age, then they collapsed because they reached his limit for things to teach
who did this quote originate from?
"Existence is the struggle to exist"
Savathun
Sounds like her
Or oryx
Cuz thatâs kinda the hive ideology
âEverything must be forced to fight for the right to existâ
wrong, it originated from the Leviathan
++Existence is the struggle to existâ
âWhen the struggle seems lost++
++when the safe place crumblesâ
âeverything turns to the Deep to survive++
++I REJECT THE DEEP CLAIM++```
What is the leviathan, since i doubt a space freighter can consider ideology
the Fundament Leviathan
do we know if it was a proto worm or not
the one that was supposed to keep an eye on the Worm Gods
we have no idea what it truly is
well we know it has bones
So the thing the spaceship was modeled after?
We know it breathes and sighs too
the Leviathan ship is based off of these giant sand worms that consumed entire cities on Torobatl
dune
I see
I suppose that makes sense
So is the bow refering to the being or the freighter?
It was made by the cabal so i assume itâs the latter
the Leviathan's Breath bow?
Yea
I see
it was found by banshee during the red war right?
I think so, but before he found it, it was owned by the shadow
So the shadows are like cabal headhunters?
she was sent to assassinate ghaul
they just do what calus wants
this one specifically was an assassin
the shadow's name was Voyc, and she was Calus' huntmaster
the psions are really something huh
So theyâre cabal mercendaries in service of calus?
she was sent to kill Ghaul too
not exclusively cabal at all
calus wanted shadows from everything he could have
That was gonna be my next question
it's why he enslaved a race of sentient arc energy
What.
Shadows are kinda Calus' version of disciples
Voyc was dubbed, "the Shadow of the Wilds"
Since he was a massive Witness simp
Oh, so he always stanned the witness then?
Yes
he didn't even know the Witness existed until the Glykon incident though
That is the lore behind Calus
it's literally the only reason he did what he did after being exiled
fat, depression, Witness stan
Yeah that was my understanding
it was his misunderstanding too
though he did technically first meet it at the Black Edge
Also calus being calus
he just didn't get what the witness was
whether it was his own misconception or just a lie he thought it to be the darkness
looking at the Levi Breath lore tab, Voyc was no joke so it leads one to wonder how she failed to kill Ghaul in the first place
nah caiatl said it himself, he would've just wasted away on the levi if the witness never found him
He saw the witness as less of a leader and more of a highway back to his lost splendor?
no he literally just thought the witness was the darkness
Ghaul is a scary dude
no one gets the Witness
he figured that the Witness wasn't Darkness in the Glykon ordeal
i mean the speaker probably had a good idea, but like, you know.
in which he clearly dictates he felt lied to
I see
it stared back touches upon his thoughts
At the edge of the universe, we had found something. Noâwe had found a nothing. From the seat of my observation chamber, I stared into the perfect void. Only I, a god, could understand what I witnessed. It was a thing greater than myself. And if such a thing exists, then I, too, can become more.
Hold on, calus calls himself a god?
and then his conversation with Katabasis expands on it
"When the Darkness found me adrift in the cosmos, rejected by a people I had made, I thought to have found a confidant. Noâan idol. They promised to return to me, to uplift meâthat we may dance together among the stars and drink of their dying ecstasy 'til the end, as one. But their chilling little fleet came and went. It was luscious, and so many tasted so much. Yet I am empty. Nothing. Trapped in this limbo of their lie."
he just thought it was "The Darkness"â˘ď¸
I didnât know his vanity was so unlimited
it's calus
True
that's literally his entire character
Also being fake-generous
bungie spelled it out in the most basic way possible by showing him stealing his infant daughter's food
I hadnât seen that but thatâs funny
the lightfall cutscene
I donât rember
I mightâve skipped over it lol
I played through the dlc 3 times so idk how i would miss that
isn't Calus so emotionally crippled that even the Ahamkara bone he wished too wasn't very effective?
Dog or war beast?
war beast
i just mean it wasn't a literal labrador retriever, it was the creature we call war beasts
Yea
I calus just a sadist or is he that incompassionate that heâll gut his daughterâs hound (i presume to eat)
jealous
she wasn't fitting the perfect picture he had of her and was persuing her own interests
he didn't like that Caiatl loved the dog more than him
So heâs just a jealous manchild
and he wonders why that is the case
Heâs a sociopath
he just really wants to feel emotions, but has a lot of trouble doing so
because he sucks
I actually really like calus as a character
he wants to love Caiatl, but goes about it in the worst way possible
i just wish his boss fight was actually good
the concept art is amazing
flying around on a big chair, vomiting flaming wine, shooting lasers, turning into a grotesque fleshpile
but no
A being whoâs so deep in his sea of riches that he cannot see his family or his morality behind itâs waves.
Caiatl even gave him one last chance, but then she, in her own words, realized that "my father was full of shit"
The boss fight was ass
Idk how bungo could do a former raid boss (sorta) like that
not just greed, also gluttony, decadence, opulence, pleasure
âMy semblance matches my inner beautyâ
gold foot
but only one foot
true opulence
Heâs like⌠so clearly trying to mend his shattered mind with earthly pleasures and extreme feats of wealth, but canât see that nothing will ever be enough to fill the void.
Fashun
Doesnât calus like⌠treat his subjects really well though?
I rember him saying that in haunted
That he showered his allies in glory and wealth
fuck no
He only sacrificed the people that remained loyal to him
đż
to replace them with mindless clones
I'd consider it a mixed bag
So he was lying in haunted then?
the only "supporters" he had left in haunted were literally clones without higher brain function
they were programmed
either he treats them well, or not too well
Ohyea i forget that calus made heavy use of cloning
that's pretty much why the Witness went to him after they failed with Us and Mara
the ironic part about this is that Duality showed that Calus truly feels remorse for his actions
Why did calus want to control the hive with the crown again?
it's calus
he wants things
he wanted a Hive shadow
he literally just looks at people and goes "i want one of those"
Calus making Gahlran was by far the smartest thing he did
no it wasn't
again, enslaved a sentient race of arc energy
What takes it then
I mean, yeah it was smart to not wear the crown himself
Heâs addicted to the glory and woundnât have stopped no matter how awful it made him feel.
This is true
he had to basically beg on his hands and knees to get us to kill him before the entire leviathan was overrun with hive
but Gahlran just became a problem
if calus was legitimately smart he just wouldn't have put the crown on anyone
that we had to deal with
he knew fully well it was a trap
I never said he was smart I just said it was the smartest thing he did
I do not see how that is possible but
Eat the mountains, Drink the seas.
his solution was just "eh i can probably control the person who puts it on instead"
let's be real, just about anyone would know the crown was a trap
I mean hey we got a fun boss from it
and Calus felt bad about what he did to Gahlran
And my favourite raid weapon
in less than an hour from his birth he was driven mad and lost all sense of self
truly amazing
the guy was literally minutes old when he forced the crown on him
Wasnât gahlran just another mindless clone?
not mindless, but a clone yes
none of those clones were mindless
and again, Duality objective flavor text
âProgrammedâ is the word you used, so yeah forget i said mindless
Dualityâs name refers to calusâs vanity but also how his failures haunt him, the duality of calusâs mind, no?
Also, what is egregore in destiny?(as opposed to egregore in other fiction)
also, if you pull out your ghost to look at the flavor text of each objective, you get some insight into Calus' regrets
Collective Conciousness
live in ignorance
and purchase your happiness
THE UNENLIGHTENED MASSES
THEY CANNOT MAKE THE JUDGEMENT CALL
GIVE UP FREE WILL FOREVER
YOUR VOICES WON'T BE HEARD AT ALL
YEA
So things consumed by the egregore become a part of itâs collective hivemind?
Itâs like the vex in a way then.
it's something like that, but it also seems to be a means of linking minds
like how Calus was trying to link the Leviathan with the Moon Pyramid
or how we use egregore coral to link Sloane and Ahsa's minds
Which is why the egregore consumed that lightbearer in presage, no?
Ohh
I suppose so
I see
hmmm
I wonder if egregore originated from the Veil
since the Veil is a cosmic collective conciousness
When did egregore first come into play?
Presage
it was all over the Glykon
And the glykon was full of⌠were the scorn there nightmares?
though I don't think it was used by Calus to merge the captured Scorn minds
no, they were captured from the Tangled Shore
I see
Calus used the Crown of Sorrow to merge their minds
after his psions removed the dangerous Hive runes from it
I see
Maybe egregore is a product of nezarec?
It does seem focused on pain and the leviathan is consumed by nightmares
I'd argue that nightmares are a destructive form of Deepsight
The Leviathan attuned with the Pyramid
Is there a reason for the Leviathan still orbiting the moon?
We haven't bothered with it
Calus left it
everything's gone
things just a party ship as well
Itâs probably consumed by egregore and nightmares now
Mara's probably looking at it like: "It's free real estate"
Was the leviathan a thing before calus got exiled, or did he construct it somehow post-exile
I imagine it was just a cabal freighter that he modified
it was a pleasure barge turned prison
I see
Calus was imprisoned in the menagerie
it was sent to nowhere
crazy how the Leviathan is like 7 plants long, could be wrong
Why does a pleasure barge have the ability to chow down small planets?
he'd die alone in space
It EATS PLANETS
well yeah
- Nessus was a Centaur
- funny
I get the second one but wtf do you mean nessus was a centaur
Nessus is the size of LA
đż
Ok so up until now i did not know what nessus actually was
I assumed it was a moon or planet that the vex sipped up
Itâs an asteriod
Nessus is very small in real life
So it eats asteroid belts then?
I always imagined it was on the scale where it could just inhale a moon or small planet
Cuz the cabal kinda have the ability to make things of that scale
Do we know how long it takes for it to eat a planet?
Thatâs always confused me with the cabal
with the Leviathan, I think it would be a long-term thing
again, the Leviathan was never made to be a warship
They can build collosal machines and are an interstellar empire, and yet we donât have any scale afaik to how long it takes for those things to be built and how long their military campaigns are
Itâs a party cruiser yeah
Hmm,
Is the leviathan the only one of itâs kind, or do the cabal presumably have many more in their empire?
The cabal feels like they take a bunch of inspiration from the imperium of man in WH40K
just the one
They call their leader emperor or empress, and even have marines and psykers
As well as massive structures and war machines
I see
It was more like a private pleasure freighter for calus then?
reused i think
"was" was the key term here. Idk where that thing is now that he has the typhon imperator
Moon orbit
Yeah itâs chilling in the skybox of the moon now
what happens if bungie decides to be special and allows crota to block with his sword?
you take it up in the game discussion channel probably
I know powerscaling is a bit of a touchy subject but i want opinions.
Who wins in a 1v1
A Eliksni Capitan or a Sangheili Elite?
you would need to specify what rank of elite
let me phrase it differently then? What rank if Elite do you think would beat an Eliksni Captain in a 1v1?
I'd say that the average Eliksni captain could match for an Elite minor
though the extra arms and teleportation technology do give the captain an advantage
no way a normal captain is 9 feet tall
hold on, I'm looking up size comparisons
What rank Elite gets the invisibility tech?
regular specops I think
ok, so apparently the average elite would be between 7 foot 4 and 8 foot 6
while captains would be around 9 feet
at least that's what google is telling me
so captains already have a good size advantage
and the four arms
and the aforementioned teleportation tech
not sure how their weapons compare, but they both have energy shields
fallen shock blades can kill ghosts, so I'd say Fallen weaponry matches up
ok, so I think a regular Eliksni captain can take on a regular elite minor
the next regular rank up from minor would be a major which would be a much tougher opponent
it's stated that a single major can take on an entire squad of marines
so anything higher than a major can likely beat a captain
not sure how stealth tech holds up between universes
does Halo have transmat technology?
like on the scale we see Guardians/Eliksni use?
I do not believe so
At most we have some teleport tech in Halo
Most iconically used by Gravemind to teleport Arbiter and the Chief....
And the time Cortana dropped Chief upside down
I feel like thatâs a bit of a weird example
The gravemind
And cortana
The Forerunners had Teleportation tech but it was between fixed locations
your face is a fixed location
But yeah Destiny Transmat tech doesn't have an equivalent in Halo
so is your mother's residence

There is tech like this in some braytech labs
But transmat tech is usually way better
Yup
Clovis was making a gun that can shoot across the damn galaxy and his bitch of a granddaughter had to throw a hissy fit which is why we had to settle with a shitty NTTE catalyst instead
LOL
Wait what
Thatâs what NTTE was originally going to become?
the quest for the NTTE catalyst explains that Clovis was making a gun that can basically shoot anywhere, including very far distances
How do yall think Clovis would have developed/weaponized the Portal gun
Well shit it already does that in crucible
Mass produce it with 1000 disclaimers for money
"The mass driver's design is highly scalable. Were they able to compile the data and understand the design, House Salvation could use it to build weapon systems capable of firing across galaxies. This isn't just about refining a gun; it's about preventing a catastrophe." â âThe Exo Stranger
"My analysis of these schematics indicates that this mass driver integrated Vex technology, but I can only understand a fragment of what I'm looking at. But it⌠it looks like this weapon could skip its rounds forward in time." â âGhost
"I've been thinking about what these schematics imply: a mass driver capable of firing rounds greater than relativistic speeds? This wasn't meant to fight something on Europa, so⌠what was Clovis planning to aim it at?" â âGhost
"Part of me wonders if we're the first peopleâin this timelineâto ever manufacture something based on these schematics. What kind of catastrophe could a weapon of this nature have caused during the Collapse? Was it used against the Darkness? Or has it sat here all this time, unrealized?" âGhost
these are all the flavor texts of the NTTE catalyst quest
Damn
I feel like clovis just felt like itâd be an interesting venture
He likely didnât have a threat that would require it to be used.
he probably knew something bad was coming to Sol
I think itâs more like clovisâs demonstration of what level of weaponry could be possible with time travelling projectiles
I donât think clovis planned to run outside and shoot the pyramids with a pulse rifle
(Wouldnât work anyway but whatev)
He locked up Soteria because he didn't want to accept that. Imo it was a weapon to either kill the traveler, or ensure his eternal rule even after humanity leaves sol.
Why would you ever rebel when your god-emperor can crack your planet's core at a moment's notice?
because that worked real well for a certain fictional empire
The water and the wave
He did
Knowing Clovis he wouldnât have been content with being a disciple though
Probably intended to assassinate the witness if I had to guess
Quick question. Is eris and the drifter something? After season of the haunted theyve been getting closer and closer and now they seem like they're having something going on
They have a very close bond but thereâs nothing to suggest officially that theyâre in a relationship
I see alright
What do we know about the ammonites? Other than what we learned from the seasonal story
I mean drifter calls her his little ray of moonlight.
I believe the only thing preventing a actual romantic relationship is the trauma
Difficulty trusting
The drifter always has trust.

The brainrot has taken full hold
I read âtrustâ and iâm like âmm, trust as in the gambit handcannon that the drifter also usesâ
First race the Hive ever lost against
or were losing
in fighting the ammonites Auryx became Oryx
or that may have been a bit later
Hive timeline is confusing
later, since he didnt have much time to kill the worm god yet while genociding the ammonites
What are the aphelions actually?
The lost sector?
I think another name for one of clovises labs (I am definitely not spreading misinformations)
you definitely are

Some sort of creature some Awoken have met (and only one has survived an encounter with)
Ohhh
You're telling me the ahamkara wanted to come here?
As a species or as an individual?
species
Do we have any examples of Pilgrim Guard equipment other than the Mark in D1?
but also
Can Exos get high? do they have like.. designated USBs for that shit?
what
Damn. That sounds kinda sad.
Okay sooo
my hunter is definitely going to develop a program that is functionally similar to getting high for exos
and it will also degrade the happiness program of exos
Cool beans

Is that a murder drones pfp I spy?
Anyways
Any idea what next season could be? Any lore notes that could lead to it? Mainly asking what enemy faction will be
Yup. Serial Designation J. My favorite character. The sass she has makes me happy.
lol
Be mindful of rule 3
I
huh.
didn't know that was there
people are allergic to reading like 5 sentences when they join a server
I haven't spoken here in like a year
I'm allowed to forget
Yâall think atraks was slept on? Probably the first fallen exo
what do you think her name means
Oh yea, they had titles
Lore wise nessus doesn't have any use for the current game lore right? Nothing is happening there
Excluding Fishing, the last time we visited was Season Of Plunder
The time before that was when the Cabal Ascendancy arrived on Nessus in Season Of The Chosen
And the time before that... uhh Season Of Opulence? Idk
nessus is honestly just the location that bungie chooses when they need a random location
can't wait for the pale heart to have a completely empty area modeled after nessus
Yea before chosen it was opulence like so long
Nahhh
Too much time spent on it
Itll be unique
Until so time passes and it'll end up as the dreaming city
or the pale heart just won't have a nessus area
I'm half joking
but tbh i don't consider it too unlikely if they're going for callbacks to major story events
Hmm i hope its not true
When i started playing leviathan was on nessus and oh lord i have so much nostalgia towards nessus
Black exodus as well
Good times
i am so glad we aren't hanging out with crow anymore
I'm half expecting Nessus to be relevant in some capacity next season when we get the revamped Exodus Crash and Inverted Spire
Why?
Wait. Revamped exodus??????
Same. For some reason he is unlikable
Yes and Inverted Spire. Its why they've been taken out of the pool of possible Nightfalls and have a much reduced chance of appearing in Vanguard Ops
he is really one-note
not much depth
he's only a year old or something, so can't blame him, but its just not compelling to me
Oh my god yeeessss finally!!
Season of the Risen onwards is when he started to get on my nerves
Don't get too excited remember what they did to Lake of Shadows and Arms Dealer lmao
So i lost lore after the season of plunder. What happened to crow after that?
Crow doesnt do anything until Season Of Defiance
Ah shit youre right
I see. Why was zavala hella mad at him? Same with saladin
I saw that in a few nightfalls/vang playlist
i remember him like directly disobeying orders all the time
Ahhh that's why
Ye idk his addition to the game doesn't seem anything special
It just creates a couple story parts for a few seasons like haunted
omg traveler's dream music just came on in helm 𫢠the music of this game got so much nostalgia
Oh from 6 years ago damn
ATTENTION EVERYONE
So I had to start a couple of days ago and I donât know if this is a subject as a touchdown already, but I wanted to bring this to light if it was not
I always thought the spear like structure inside the tree of silver wings was a little bit too, on the nose for me, but the new laws surrounding the veil being a part of the Traveler with this mean that the veil is like one of the tree of silver wings and a Traveler was inside it??
I have a quick question. Wasn't there a mission where the guardian lost his light and we had to go find a fragment or whatever on earth in a forest and like do some stuff there to get it back? Which quest was that?
that was the Red War campaign
the base D2 story
Which is gone
FOREVER
Right right damn ive been playing for that long
I KNOW! FFS
the Red Legion ransacked the Last City and put a cage on the Traveler

Wonder what happened to the cabal scientist who made the cage
we then went into the EDZ to find a shard of the Traveler which was how we got our Light back
We fought that clapped mf Ghaul
Is the witness gonna be the final boss of the next raid?
Good times
Exactly yeap
We donât know, we know we âconfront himâ but thatâs all
there were some psions who stole a fragment of the cage from a Hakke warehouse
Why was it in a hakke warehouse?
Them not him
Donât care
Also another one. Which season had a quest with a huge ass taken tree?
they reverse-engineered it into smaller Ghost cages which can suppress the Light of individual Guardians
Not cause there gender neutral
But cause there quit literally a whole species in one body
white smoky hair n pronounce
Season of Arrivals, the Tree of Silver Wings
and the Tree wasn't Taken
Arrivals then, thatâs taken season
I didnt have the season pass back then so idk the season lore
But man i miss the old mars, titan, io, mercury like it was so much fun
Imma do it rn
Well itâs gone now, settle with other planets
I hope they bring some parts of them back with the 3 episodes
Well there gone now
Maybe in echos, pre vex Mercury would be nice
Yea that
(Gonna repost this
)
Like mercury for vex episode etc
Also
So we barely gonna get any new exotics now?
We get 2 per season
Thatâs more than the usual
I like how there are 3 acts per echo
Exotic khavastov I think
Idk exotic?
Exotic in d1 looked like the base
Im pretty sure it was a thing in d1
Maybe cosmodrome ornament
Ornament for a white rarity weapon đ
Yea the exotics coming too but an ornament to show itâs origins
Cause thatâs the cosmodrome style at the wall
Heresy interests me because we know what constitutes heresy to the hive
Necromancy
I wonder if there will be some Mars Hive trying to rez Xivu/Nokris/Crota
Or it could just be Nokris doing something funny
Since there's no official confirmation if he's dead since its unknown if he has his own Throne World or not
Nokris' VA in Season Of Arrivals was one of the best
Didn't we kill Nokris in Arrivals?
I forgot a word in my message lol
In an Ascendant Plane area too
Yea but that wasn't his Throne World
Or was that Savathun's Court?
That was Savathuns
Interesting
Mind space but more braud?
Hmm idk i cant create an idea for what it is in my head for some reason
Especially after we learned about the leviathan surviving in that space for a shit ton of time
you ever played gmod?
or seen someone mess around in the gmod sandbox
Ofc
okay so imagine that
but like
in its own seperate instance
everyone basically carves out a little place
where powerful beings can create their own personal worlds. These personal worlds follow a set of rules and offer protection for the creator's mind if they die.
Its also like your bed in Minecraft. You respawn there if you are killed outside of it
Remanifest is a better descriptor
Ohhhhh makes so much sense now
another important distinction is that they are not hive specific
actually nothing of hive's magic or rituals is specific to their race
In these "personal worlds" anyone can live or just specific beings?
youve played the witch queen campaign right?
Mhm
yes
its savathuns throne world
its not on mars
and what 2 factions do we fight in high numbers there
Scorn and hive
#đlore-discussion message you answered your own question then
[Message Link](#đlore-discussion message) to #đlore-discussion
In these "personal worlds" anyone can live or just specific beings?
So specific ones then
no
anything that can enter one
can stay there
we went to oryx's throne world during kings fall
thats where we kill him
we kill crota in his
Yeyeyeye im dum
Yea
Idk why i said specific
So the throne world is an ascendant plane?
its an individuals stake within the ascendant plane
their own personal property of sorts
in a vast darkness
litterally carved out
technically speaking if he had one i think it might be the ball himself?
either way he can't really be killed, as much as i'd like that
I wonder if and when we will talk to him this season
Like, we are proving him right
Whats the name of the scorn that we will focus on in the future episode in like 2 years from now?
fikrul?
Wish we would get a fallen story were they arenât being absolutely destroyed and thrown in the trash
plunder?
Eh didnât play that season because I just donât like the theme but what I mean is specifically the fallen hostile groups actually doing something themselves
Like for example
Stasis, barely got to use it and got absolutely destroyed just because our guardian was there at the right time
I just want the fallen to get a W on their own unaffected by outside help
Practically the weakest faction around
thats kinda their gimmick
they are basically an enemy on their knees
apart from house of light
they vibing hard
I just want them to get something
Even in gameplay ways
Want them to get something like how the hive got hive guardians or how the cabal got full updated designs and tormenters for lightfall
Yea, and only bosses use it briefly
Its just dumb because they get shafted in lore and in gameplay
i need clarification on the shay-reed-aisha thing
is there more stories with them?? I need to know if shay is forgiven, if she dies, how she dies! I can't tell if it's implied or not
Revenant and itâs in less than a year
Oh the scorn not the episode
Yeah that was already answered itâs Fikrul
Yea the name of the dude
But anyways the episode releases like summer next year
There is a lot of Aisha lore, a complete story in fact
GAHD damn
Well Aisha Shayura and Reed

tell me everything.
spill.
Of those 3 the only one who is dead is ||Reed||
Damn, the robot dies.
sucks for sure.
Okayyy so Shayura is a warlock, specifically a solar warlock, Aisha is a hunter, Reed is a titan
They all play trials together
Shayura doesn't like guardians using the darkness
Shayura goes insane and starts killing guardians who wield the darkness and random house light fallen across the system
She runs into a lucent hive and completely breaks down and turns herself in
They arrest her and put her into therapy
She is released after a while due to a shortage of guardians, under the supervision of aisha and reed
Reed, Shayura, and Aisha are the 3 OG guardians, with the classic drip from the D1 live action trailer days.
They are the 3 who's ships got sliced up by the witness in that LF cutscene, Reed is the only one who lost his ghost and thus permanently died.
That's kinda it at this point, super condensed version. There's a lot of other interactions, for example with Sloane post reed death. It's all in trials weapons, armor, sparrows, and ships
to the fashion
SHIIIT...
They were the three pilots, god damn.
It also hit heavy when I learned how Joxer went out.
Shayura and Aisha are both fine, but Reed-7 sadly ain't coming back
Joxer is also dead
who's next? Siegfried?
Trihn?
Gaelin-4?
sad we haven't heard from the latter 2 in a long time
I'm waiting to see if Aunor Mahal will bite the bullet, her zealous attitude and ruthlessness is only gonna give her a permadeath.
Wasn't there recent lore about her?
Saw somewhere that she killed some gaurdian on europa that was leaving there mission
Found it
oh wait
its just the same lore from solas scar
damn
just copied over
So correct me if Iâm wrong, Ahsa might allow herself to become a worm god? Or am I confused a bit on what happened this week.
Sheâs bonded with Eris
Like how the Hive gods tithe to Eir, Yul and Ir
Eris tithes to Ahsa
It's pretty much acknowledging we need massive boosts to catch up with Xivus power level
and Ahsa ironically has to do what her corrupted brethren did
and I like how Bungie built on Ahsa's character with this
A result of desperation
We donât have many options
Universe ends if we fail so may as well sacrifice yourself to stop it
from the looks of it, Ahsa doesn't see it as pure desperation
she sees it as a chance to fight for the good of everyone else
as fate
in essence, she doesn't feel like she has no other choice
she feels like she has to make this choice
seeing this season's story develop really has me wondering where it will go next
Theres gotta be a trick to the end of all this
Bungies repeating the fact that Xivu tends to win a straight fight a lot
well the endgame does involve us kicking Leviathan Eater's ass
..and a straight slugfest between Eris and Xivu seems.... rather bluntly straightforward for a Savathun plan
it doesn't seem like Eris' plan was part of Savathun's
Savathun knew Eris would do something, but I don't think she knew exactly what Eris would do
Put it this way
All this buildup for Xivu, and Eris will wipe her out offscreen without even a cutscene?... Doesnt seem likely
Xivu Arath probably won't die immediately
she'll just lose a lot of tribute resulting in her not being able to feed her worm
Thats what I'm wondering... if thats the trick
Cant win against Xivu in a straight fight, but can trap her and let the worm do the rest
that's how Eris wants it to end
And Xivus mind is so clouded by hurray new sister!..she would walk right into a trap
Xivu may be too much to handle, but her underlings aren't
it's how we took out Crota and Oryx
killing off each of Crota's disciples one by one
the Hand, Heart, Eyes, Fist, and Will
then we left Oryx weakened by dismantling his entire court
starting with Crota
Oryx's main weakness was that he relied on his line of tribute which was mainly supplied through his Court
and he knew this well
Yeah, thats the thing.. we havent really done any of that thus far. Jumping straight to the slugfest
Highest guy we killed was the High Celebrant
which given the wrathborn running amok... only slowed Xivu down a bit
killing Leviathan Eater though
its still alive đ
we have also definitely killed off plenty of Xivu's higher ranking officials
like the bosses we fight in Seraph
A... scorn, shrieker, and a endless recurring Knight?
I meant the bosses in the operation missions
the Scourge of the Helium Drinkers, Ammonites, Ecumene, etc.
Dont know.. feels like they would be the sorts to have throne worlds of their own
Crota was the only one of Oryx's court to have one
And then Omnighul managed to keep coming back within Crotas court
I'm still not sure how she even came back
and I wouldn't rely on D1 reprised strikes too much
And like said, that random knight whos been killed by us... how many times under Xivus watch? heh
they legit brought back Sekrion even after we ran an entire strike previously to prevent them from doing that
he does not have his own Throne
Xivu is just bringing him back for the hell of it
hell, he was already able to come back before he started serving Xivu
Yeah
Just feels like a straight fight will be a bit... anti-climatic?
All the build up for Xivu being undefeatable... and then Eris kills her?
Leviathan Eater getting killed off will definitely leave Xivu on a decline
Yeah, like i said
Think the trick is tricking Xivu into a trap, cutting off the tithe flow and letting the worm eat her alive
seems pretty clear that Xivu will more likely be left utterly defeated rather than killed off
and by utterly defeated, I mean left on the path of being wormfood
Ascendant Hive have the rite of resurrection isn't that how it goes?
As long as their God's throne remains intact or something
does resurrecting on the throne world defy sword logic?
maybe because you can die permanently if killed in the Throne world
They earned their existence
that too
Hive logic hypocritic in nature
and apparently Ascendant Hive are just Hive strong enough to be allowed to enter the Ascendant Plane
đż so if they have the means to return pre-death then that's fine with sword logic?
which would be why becoming lightbearers is heresy?
Ghost: The soul of a Hive is sleeping inside. The Disciples of Osiris believe Ascendant Hive can be reborn in our realm when the time is right and with the sacrifice of lesser Hive souls. I think this one is marked for sacrifice.
hmmmm
ok, so here's a theory
so Ascendant Hive are able to enter the Ascendant Plane, and from there, their mind is preserved there
đż sword logic is weird with the idea of resurrection
because of this, when they die, can be reborn physically and be brought back into our world
i see
since the Ascendant Plane seems to be the mental domain
while our world is the physical one
since darkness is the realm of the mental while light is that of the physical?
yes
which can be applied to the whole stack of coins analogy
where our world is the top coin, the Ascendant Plane is the bottom doll-coin
they never really stated this yet though, but the idea that the Ascendant Plane is tied to one's own will directly does imply it
There was also hints in the Defiance dialogue that something happened to the Ascendant Plane given the presence of Ley Lines
I guess the Witness went on a bit of a rampage
maybe we will learn more in the TFS CE
So theoretically the only way xivu can be defeated or otherwise killed is if we deprive her?
she seems to be too strong to fight directly right now
so we will have to do the same routine we did with Oryx
Eliminating her inner circle one by one
Cutting off her âtithe generatorsâ her champions, her s tier wrathborns yeah?
Iâm assuming
we have already taken out her High Celebrant
Issue with Xivu is fighting itself can make her draw tithes
and we killed off some of her older lackeys in Seraph
even then, she has to reach a point where she can't satisfy her worm's hunger enough
That was her plan in Seraph
No matter who was killed, would draw power from the mass casualties
the issue being her worm feeds off essentially anything that results in conflict or bloodshed, killing Rasputin only stopped what may be inevitable, genuinely seems like our options are limited to next to nothing
That's why I feel there's a trick to this.
Xivus judgement is impaired over Eris being her "new sister"
Hmm
Can use that to create a trap
Get her in a space where she can be "starved" and let her worm handle the rest
the important thing here though is that her worm's hunger increases the more she feeds it
without a good line of tribute, even following her nature alone won't sustain her
So sheâll only be able to feed off war and tithes for so long, in theory what if thereâs a way to essentially âoverloadâ or accelerate the process
?
Just a brainstorm
But cutting off tribute seems like it would be most likely to work
my original theory was that we would make a move that kills off a lot of her best soldiers
while she gains a lot of power from this act of war, it would only be a matter of time before the tribute loss catches up to her
I'm thinking more along the lines of screwing with the feeding..
Remember all the schemes Savathun made to try and "cheat" her worm?
That makes a lot of sense actually
She left a big timeloop over in Dreaming City..
We talking about worms?
why did felwinter get back handed?
Is this from his fight with Shaxx?
yes
Yes
This actually works by the way
Itâs been done in the past
The Ecumene literally just overkilled the hive every time they popped up, using nuclear missiles on an ant type thing
Well, Shaxx was a Warlord and Felwinter was an Iron Lord, so they fought I guess
Iâm tryna find the entry on Ishtar rn
Much war, but Xivu very nearly died. Only thing that saved her was oryx becoming oryx and learning how to take
SOME TIME DURING THE LATE DARK AGE.
Iron Lords Efrideet, Saladin, and Felwinter sat in a Warlock meditation chamber, around a massive oak table, in a keep on Felwinter Peak. A fire crackled in the corner out of the lips of a stone-lined hearth.
A hand-written letter in messy scrawl rested atop the table.
âWarlord Shaxx accepts my challenge,â Fel...
D1 stuff
What are the weird maggot things we see in the geometry of some hive locations
The worms?
Or worm larvae in particular
Didn't shaxx shit on felwinter in crucible or smthing
Not in the crucible
No it was a straight fight
Shaxx won
many times
To keep him busy Felwinter literally just kept 1v1ing Shaxx at Shaxxâs fort
âNo.â
âI call mine Felwinter Peak.â
âDo I look like I care?â```
Among other things he got decapitated by a single backhand

Felwinter did not snap into a slim jim
Shakespeare!
Some people like to theorise heâs actually Shakespeare but imo Shaxx should be black like his VA
Make him purple
He ainât an Awoken lmao
Grape
Shaxx is violently Scottish
Scottish?
Friendship with Shaxx ended
By law I cannot befriend a Scot
He asks for haggis in one of his lines iirc
However you spell that
I mean, that doesnât necessarily make him a Scot
His accent isnât Scottish is it?
"Arcite bring me that Haggis while I call this match"
"No those are bullets"
"Fine I'll get it myself"
He's Welsh
Does rahool have a class
people had that realization back in seraph
Tempest
So bros just there
He's there to represent the Cryptarchy and decrypt our engrams and such, yes
Byf please
Either, the weird writhing worm things in some hive growths
I think lightbearer abilities would we warcrimes if used in warfare
I mean, solar isnât much better than a flamethrower
Whaddaya want ye goblin
Void is⌠definitely something too
Croata
Oh you're actually asking
No I'm at work still sorry
Hm?
damnit
Got an interview thingy
Eris Morn lost her Light centuries ago. While she is a bad control group, this suggests that Lightless at least have an extended lifespan even without their Ghosts.
Interesting
Probably not
how eat ramen
With skill
Much skill
Munch skill
Crota was centuries ago? Ik timelines are difficult for d2 but that's surprising
the time between Erisâ fireteam failing to kill Crota and us killing Crota in D1 is a long time
Thatâs when the whole âthe great disasterâ also happened before they ventured down right?

oryx is trans
technically genderfluid but whoâs keeping track
Them, the Twitters
you
lore wise
there are between 35-38.5 million guardians alive
Efrideet once threw Saladin like a dart
forgot at what tho
Cow Thing and Doghives
And I leave to get milk once more
off a cliff into a fallen walker
cooool
DRIFT IS GUARDIAN
I thought he was just kinda in a similar situation to Xur
made immortal by the nine n shit
I mean it was solely because of drifterâs own decisions
Kitbash shell
I hate this article
Thatâs just not true at all
Drifterâs Ghost wanted to fix Drifterâs hunger but Drifter refused
Drifter did not trust or want to rely on the Light at all
can someone explain this awoken waking up and owing debt/being told debts paid but uno reverse card it isnt
What
Some of the Awoken believed they owed the universe for what they were âgivenâ and others did not. Those that felt that they didnât owe anything, stayed in their black hole city. Those that did, left with Mara
I think thatâs what weâre talking about
Ohh that yeah
Yeah Mara specifically fostered that first belief behind the scenes to ensure she had Awoken to join her back to Sol
When Alis Li discovered this she was pissed
what
Mara engineered the whole political dissent in the Distributary as part of her plan to return to the Solar System
Mara felt strongly they had to return and help
So she had to make sure she wasnât alone
bro didnt wanna play easy mode
I wish there was smth in lore about the drifters reaction to a ghost creating the link from the veil to the traveller
because he was always like "never trust your ghost"
Heck.. just have comment on all the Hive Ghosts
"You thought all those bad ghosts disappeared back in the Dark Ages? Brother your popping some of the same ones from back then."
technically speaking none of them would be the ones drifter encountered
Nah
Some of them were still aholes even without Guardians
whatâs a risenless ghost going to do to be an asshole
Just ask Player Ghost about Immaru, instantly recognizing his voice and being a bully
he was only ever able to be a bully to ghosts
because heâs a ghost
if a ghost went up to you during the dark age like that youâd just make him your new stress ball
Someone should tell Immaru that
Because exactly that happened this season while he was mouthing off to us... who killed Savathun solo lol
lore entries about our Ghost specifically are underutilized
I want to see how he knew Immaru
But if I killed him I wouldnât get the funny character moments anymore
So Iâd rather not
Heâs rather entertaining
That's a part that has been missed
Ghost would know what Immarus og name was and if he was decked in that shell the whole time
why does that need to be known
ghost shell changes are canon, and the defected ghosts obviously werenât all soulfire green and covered in chitin lol
So dug through the entry this week for lore book
Presumably referred to the Witness as a "wounded tyrant"
..
What hurt it?
Calus calling it out during Lightfall
Heh
The crazed space rhino hurt its pride that much?
I wouldnât say that considering that calus immediately backed down in seconds
still, it was enough to genuinely piss it off
I have question about what happened after the raid root of nightmares
there were small darkness prisms that were scattered around neomuna called "apogee" repeaters
what were they exactly?
I'm not sure they really explained them
maybe Quinn had a one-off line relating to them
something about archiving alien memories from the repeaters before they cycle
weird
Oh yea did we check this weeks veil entry? I missed out on this week and last week
they ain't doing Veil entries every week now
just the one on week one for this season
then we will get another one when the next season begins
what exactly is the vault of glass?
Hezen collective wanted to experiment with these âoraclesâ and so they made vog
Atheon is the manager
Gorgons are the pre design before oracles
Templar idk
anyway a gaggle of 6 idiots:
no 6 idiots
we are them
Oh

it couldve been 6 but its fair to assume 3 of them were wiped from time itself
3 short lightbearers waddle into the vault of glass.
Only 3 returned
It is kinda scary how vog literally erased 3 light bearers, including all mention of them (besides some stuff)
none returned
3 got wiped, what happened to OHHHHH
its conjecture whether or not the other 3 existed
Praedtyth time vault
Kabr and left over light
What happened to the third (wasnât she hidden?)
nothing states they did but that's sort of the point
ok correction
1 made it out
pahanin
but he was also killed by yor later so
Was probably thinking of the gos crew
Is devrim a guardian?
Hah no
just a guy bein' a man
A marcs man
Ahh okay okay
The only guardians we have as vendors are ikora, zavala, shaxx, saint, saladin and the drifter right?
And maybe future cayde
Maybe
Probably
Hopefully
Shaw Han
So I was watching a vid about like random facts abt d2 so shaky source for this, but they said devrim has a long lost husband mark and that's why he has a bounty with his name in it???? I'm sorry for the really weird question, just gotta know if it's canon
nah fuck that guy
it probably is canon
