Another issue is that the lighting in d2 is just colder
D1 lighting was warmer so white and offwhite could come across as cream. The harsh cold light in d2 makes the blue pop

Also I think because our armour in D2 is way more flamboyant in design that could effect shaders. Like we didn't have many glowing lights on armour that needed to shade. The glows actually came from shaders or later in the game chroma or ornament sets from AoT

This is why I like the D2 armour that still resembles actual armour to an extent. Because they usually do have some kinds of wear on them even with shaders.
Like on the plating and it's much more noticeable depending on shaders.
I don't mind bungie giving us all with other cool armour but imo I'll always prefer something that looks like it was designed to protect a guardian from damage

Yeah it definitely fits that vibe. Another thing I'd change but mainly because I'm a PvE player is using skull of dire ahamkara with the ornament for it. Looks more sinister and the exotic is very good now.
