It's RNG. No, the game is not bugged for you, or broken, it's simply bad luck.

• Bungie does not publish drop rates.
• We don't know how many estimated runs it will take for a specific item to drop.
• We do not know how much drop-rate-boosting triumphs contribute either, since we don't know the base drop rate.
• Runs are all separate environments. A 1/3 chance does not mean you get the loot you want one out of three times, it just means there is that percentage of chance whenever you run the activity that you get said loot.
• Perks are not weighted. All weapons drop with their perks at the same rate.

In all fairness I think the lack of an onboarding process for raids and dungeons is sort of why it ever was appealing for the game

As far as dungeons go most of them are fairly quick to figure out even blind and they're designed to be soloable though it'd be much more difficult

Raids are typically more mechanically obscure and much more reliant on the community sharing knowledge which is by design

Have fun first, get through the very first campaigns, when you feel overwhelmed, you'll have a basic understanding of the game by then and then start asking difficult questions, build guides, dungeon guides and how power works all and that.

If you strictly focus on how the entire game works now, progressing will be more "time consuming" than an enjoyment.
