There are a couple exotic weapons with random rolls like ergo sum and hawkmoon but they don't have nearly as much variation as with legendary weapons

And most are fixed

Basically treat any exotic as having an exotic perk/effect that should never change

Ergo sum is the only exception for that and that's because it has a pool of 8 exotic perks and that's the gimmick

Hello, I am a returning player from Witch Queen, bought Lightfall and Final Shape last night and completed Lightfall. Somewhat overwhelmed by all the changes - should I even buy Edge of Fate? Keep playing through the legacy?

Not sure what the best use of my time is - if it's even worth it etc. Reception to the current state seems negative but I was going to give it a shot.

Im a new player myself so I understand the overwhelmingness, but I found it easy to divide content into a few categories:

1. Portal Activities which are all for power grinding and new loot. Portal Activites can be divided further into solo/fireteam which has the same loot and pinnacle ops which are harder and have better loot.
2. Campaigns, for the campaigns themselves as well as the abilities or exotic questlines they may unlock.
3. Legends tab in the world tab is where some exotic missions rotate weekly
4. Dungeons and Raids for fun or specific weapons linked to them
5. Crucible is for PvP which has its own loot pool as well.
6. There is usually an event going on such as Iron Banner going on right now, these have their own specific loot pool.

Beyond all this, every activity, excluding pvp has customisation options to increase difficulty, resulting in higher level and higher tier loot.

As for other notable things Xur is a vendor who sells some good stuff, he is present every Friday through Tuesday. Exotic Ciphers are an item you can use at the archive near the vault in the tower to get any exotic weapon listed there for free. Exotic engrams can be opened on their own for random exotics or can be used in conjunction with an exotic cipher for specific exotic armor pieces.

I appreciate this write up, but it's not entirely accurate. They intentionally leave the rules around accessibilities tools grey so they can choose when to enforce it on a case-by-case basis. However, it's fairly easy to see their intentions.

As per the Destiny Account Restrictions and Banning Policies Abuse of External Accessibility Tools section, "We do not intend for difficulty to be automated away via software or hardware. [...] Using these tools to mitigate challenges all players face, such as reduce recoil or increase aim assist, would be a violation."

If Bungie thinks that the input timing for Skating (as the inputs themselves would be covered under accessibility) are a challenge all players face, using a macro to bypass that would be a violation. Given their opening statement for this section, a ban could be warranted. "Abusing external accessibility tools or aids specifically to gain an advantage over other players will result in escalating actions, including bans."

That said, it doesn't seem like Bungie is interested in this level of rules enforcement, so one would likely not get in trouble for macro-skating, though the risk still exists. It's better to just learn to skate manually, it's not that hard once you get the hang of it.

It depends. In PVP, having the cooldowns from getting to 100 can be more important the additional benefits at 101+. In PVE, getting to 200 can really push a build to the next level.

But you should also be able to get 200/120/100 fairly easily once you're getting Tier 4/5 gear. It's also possible to get quad/quint-100s if you really want to minmax.

So you get super really fast by dynamo/distribution stacking at least

If you’re asking if they can put out more total damage on a boss vs a one-done then some can, so yes. In a dps scenario you would not use a roaming super on a boss though, especially if the window for damage is really short.

Supers generally don’t have damage multipliers vs bosses, golden gun is an exception though.

Most bosses in the game only have critical hit multipliers. Khali for example takes something like 6x more damage to the head than the body.

If it’s a dungeon lair, meta would be a high DPS loadout. If it’s a fireteam op most likely it would be rapid super regen, you should also have the ability to deal with champions by yourself.
