Besides that, there's the weekly ritual activity challenge that'll give 3 per class per week, there's a few in the season pass, vendor resets after the first-per-season give an engram, and then there's always just RNG.

Not if you want to be able actually farm. Arguably your best bet would be to do Garden of Salvation 3 times (one per class) and hope you get decent luck on Accrued Redemption red borders. There's that world drop Neoptolemus and there's Biting Winds in Europa that don't have any hard limits on them, but they also don't have a repeatable consistent drop trigger.

You can lose one engram on each character and replace one more on two characters with prime engrams and be fine. It'll just barely get you to Rank 17 (it's 6000 xp exactly) and it should take the minimum number of resources while leaving you with exactly one exotic engram left over for the new armor pieces.

Not really? Buried Bloodline is good because it's free Devour which means easier survivability. Forerunner is decent to okayish damage but is probably outclassed by a number of other weapons. The rest are all primary ammo and I would really only use them in Crucible, if at all. They can be good, but very niche and definitely not PvE meta contenders. Traveler's Chosen might be good with the upcoming stat changes but that remains to be seen.

Vex Strike Force is a special public event on Neomuna that is guaranteed to drop an exotic on successful completion. Despite being on Neomuna, it does not require Lightfall to get rewards. The exotic loot pool is determined by what DLC you own (and includes LLS exotics). Unacquired exotics (only those released before The Final Shape) that you have access to are guaranteed to drop before duplicates.

When does it happen?

It's random. There's a discord server that runs a bot that'll alert you when one is coming and help you group up with other players to work on it. It's a difficult activity to solo so it's useful to have a big group.

If you are a solo player, keep in mind it is better to load into the Liming Harbor even if the VSF is in a different area as it is more likely you'll join instances with other people.

Note: VSF won't happen when Terminal Overload is active in the same spot.

Checkpoint Farming Guide

1. Reach the encounter
2. Have someone switch to another character and rejoin. They're the Checkpoint-holder
3. Start encounter, wipe immediately
4. Checkpoint-holder changes back and rejoins the team
5. Do encounter normally
6. Checkpoint-holder changes to the character with the checkpoint
7. Checkpoint-holder loads activity
8. Rest of the team loads on the Checkpoint-holder
9. Go back to step 4. Repeat as needed
