D1 raids arent universally bad, they just seem like it because D2 just made better
because... well, its a sequel!
ok so you just like shitty lighting everywhere
D2 is mechanic heavy. D1 is dps checks
ngl i had no idea d2 was just a massive rehash of d1, like almost everything ive played so far is just a remake
d1 isnt even dps checks
Destiny 2 is a engine update so of course you can do more thing , 2026-2027 you will have the release of unreal engine 6
d1 has nothing that compares to day 1 caretaker
@marble raptor You, did you see the dev insight?
yes
i recommend checking out the LFG channels in the LFG servers! Make sure to ask for a sherpa, theyre teachers that allow you to learn the mechanics in a stress free area. I recommend watching a guide before doing it too
destiny doesn’t run on unreal
Wtf fast reply
you need to theyre the peak of the game
i'm in school rn but it looks so sickkkk
oh fs, ive been watching walkthroughs on youtube haha
GO FOCUS ON CLASS MF
nah we d2 maxxing
a good start! Will make it easier to be taught by a sherpa
Real pooks, real
just getting some gear first 🫡 and waiting until the 9th
Crota Oversoul and phasing got a lot of people. Bridge cheese was dumb there tho. Aksis might be the most comparable to D2 bossing
most of D2 is... well, D2. Its a sequel though so you'll find comparisons
good luck
I keep seeing art style being thrown around when their art styles are like pretty much identical bar the guardian armors.
Maybe one can make the case that the color pallate is different, sure.
not a bad call
Which one? Hunter, Titan or Warlock?
wrath is the only d1 raid that holds up to modern standards

:(
no i mean like the levels, like in Ops, unless im taking crazy pills a lot of them are the same as in D1? like the beginners tutorial i swear was almost identical to D1 too. i havent played d1 in 10 years so maybe im just tripping?
But like, I thought everyone nowadays universally hates the greywash/bluewash gritty color pallates in movies, why are we talking about like its a good thing in video games?
Them not remaking Wrath upsets me ngl. Dogma was goated
Even Aztecross said he actually really enjoyed d1 this time around
Cbgray Really enjoyed it too
Aztecross cannot be trusted with an opinion as he seldom actually has one in the videos
aztecross makes his living by dooming about d2
Destiny as a universe is full of space magic bullshit. More color is fine.
And more color isn't a change in art style either.
he just likes making money
his channel isnt something he does out of passion, hence the lack of passion in his work.
and yknow, thats ok, actually
i've actually seen more of this kind of comment nowadays
"everything is too colorful! somebody took the saturation up to 11! irl doesn't look THIS vibrant, where's the browns and greys????"
wild lol
You can shade or deepen colors tho. Everything doesn’t have to be the sun
average millenial greige enjoyer:
The "sun" has to do with lighting, not colors.
I swear I've seen valsecca before. Have u been here a long time? And or are u in a d1 server?
@hybrid zealot
some people will look you straight in the eyes and say d1 kings fall looks better than root of nightmares or garden of salvation
Brightness smh
nah, i played d2 only, don't have a console
I'll take colors over the gritty dark greywash of the DCEU for instance.
Brightness of colors. Can use deeper hues and shadowing to make the gritty atmosphere
D2 isn't a gritty game.
That's like saying bloodborne looks bad cause it's not colorful lol
Why are we pretending gritty is the way to go
as somebody who lived through 2010s military shooters i agree lol
and it benefits from it sooooo much
I just prefer it
It's boring
preferred artstyles of games change overtime
It's like weird teenager edgy bullshit
in terms of colors ?
i always thought destiny was a colorful game. all kinds of planets and landscapes, why make them all grey
nowadays, most people dislike gritty artstyles
everything
Exactly
doesnt make it invalid to like it, but its not a preference one can expect to be met
There's selective color in d1. Usually in skyboxes and specific details like the hell mouth
as most games like D2 will try to appeal to what most want
Destiny is a universe full of wonder and magic and dragons and shit
why make it all greywashed?
especially since D2 is a lot less doom and gloom
D1 was a bit more so though even there it felt somewhat jarring.
We rebuild it on it 🔥
Okay, maybe my preference for the darker aesthetic of Destiny 1 which looks more realistic is a preference. However, I also have to say the fact that Destiny 1 came first and was like that and Destiny 2 is not like that upsets me as different from the original game
Is that fair?
omg the season icon for the new gear is the destiny icon 🥹
you never needed to justify that you like something
I mean. You sound like a Nimbus lover. Could not wait for that DLC to end
theres no shame in liking or disliking something
If the new title isn’t “Guardian”

for me its hard to choose one raid. like i really like KF but warth of the machine also good. then we have GoS and RoN.
there is, however, shame in shitting on another thing because you like the other thing.
like i cant choose one
eh that's fair, i can understand that
i hate the current ability spammy sandbox bec i prefer more grounded, more weapon centric playstyle. a lot of people like the opposite though
Neomuna was probably the worst expansion imo
wasn’t the tricorn originally used for some other gear before it was changed to the red war logo?
What i didnt like in destiny was the farm 🙁
Lore , campagn, raid, dongeon , high quality quest > all
Why on Earth are you using that as a pejorative 😭
curse of osiris exists
gos and ron are beautiful and d1 kings fall is lowkey butt
I love when people say Lightfall was the worst when Shadow Keep is RIGHT there
or more accurately shitting on other peoples enjoyment because of what you like
cough cough.
I loved CoO
Now with ai we can maybe make a epic quest generator
I was interested in marathon, I mite wait for a sale
This guy gets it
no.
Not sure but either way I think this is a nice full circle moment
You can enjoy what you like. Hell, I tell this to people who enjoyed the Snyderverse stuff...
You can like what you like, and I'll never attack you for it, but I'll still prefer color over greywashed gritty Snyderverse shit anyday. You can call what I like shit, ain't going to bother me.
i dont think i paid attention to what d1 looked like im ngl
I’m pretty based sometimes
The best part of shadow keep was when it was over
Do it , create a raid alone
I feel this
pfff
Unironically yeah. The final cutscene is pretty cool.
not even wrong cause arrivals was a great season
It’s so funny that pretty much the only times the new Lego Batman references Batfleck’s mythos is to make fun of it 😭
Lol
I mean if we do community quest
Its noway possible to do it everything ourself at a sustainable rate 😭
God I’m so fucking happy they’re basically killing the portal
Btw, you can make something dark without something being gritty.
I make destiny raids in Minecraft. Fully functional and as accurate as possible. Making raids is fun. I wish they gave us a “forge mode” for Destiny at some point
I understand you're joking but i do wonder the issues that will no doubt appear from people that will try to do this
because LLMs are fundamentally incapable of being creative
salvations edge and vow are perfect examples
its literally impossible
I dont talk about the creative part but the execution part
It’s such an awesome cutscene but god playing shadowkeep on my other characters was the worst
I suppose it can be summed up as I order the original game and franchise and hate most of the changes except qol and some of the weapons. Liking the game simply for what it is is understandable and I still argue music, sounds and certain visuals are objectively better in d1
Everytime i see news about how good the update is and how Pete Parson ruined everything i hope he like committed tax fraud or something so he loses his cars
Vow is gritty. Salvation not so much
i talk about every part.
Yeah, it's a shame it's too late to get rid of tiered loot but maybe other people liked that idk
LLMs are gonna be bad for... all of it.
You can automate coding and debugging
salvation is very dark until verity
Didn't Pete only bail until he could get his shares payout after a time period?
a technical exception but still one thats very risky
LLMs are notoriously bad at software engineering
even the LLMs best at coding is prone to errors
I can see that
They did such a great job
even for small projects
I've seen people say heresy was when the loot system was best and I completely agree
salvations edge is better
Gonna buy the full content pack
salvations edge is honestly just perfect
using LLMs as a replacement for a human in a single step of the way is super risky
Its prone to error yes , but it's for that you use a coding harness like open code
Shadow Keep sucks to play cuz it’s just “go on patrol” and farm for this armor the campaign. Then you do a strike… Then you- nope it’s over big sorry. cutscene!
i cant think of any flaws
I really don't want to get into the AI convo. Say what you will about the cases where it could have been useful, the fact is that it is causing a lot more harm than good.
Heresy was aight yes
Give me Wrath of the Machines any day
theres no but
I should clarify that I still enjoy aspects of Destiny 2 and that's why I'm interested in playing it and this final update is actually going to fix a lot of those things that had complaints about. So I'm not simply saying Destiny 2 is completely horrible. It's just I have some preferences and I'm glad they're fixing some of the issues. I have plenty of time on Destiny 2 as well and there are very specific time periods that I really enjoy Destiny 2
its just prone to error, period, no buts or ifs
Raid tier 1 was also nice
When they released the brave arsenal weapons and the round-based mode, I really enjoyed that
you cannot use a LLM as a substitute
actually now that i think about it salvations edge doesnt have enough lore
thats the sole flaw
LLMs as a substitute is THE example for why LLMs are bad
I'm so excited for pit of heresy and moon refresh
However, the campaign I always dread playing is Beyond Light. Not because I hate it, but because it’s the campaign that gives us stasis, I am always helping friends, get it for their characters, and I’m just burnt out on it lmao
pit of heresy only has one unique gun lol
its the main one, the one everyone goes to, the internet is littered with examples where this has been done and failed miserably.
I hate a lot of the fetch or grind quests in game
Witherhoard catalyst quest is f****** evil
Absolutely evil
You can find some ethical cases of AI's use, but they dwarf just how bad it is in a lot of different aspects (environmental issues, price hikes and shortages, data center infrastructure, plagiarism, and other smaller issues).
you do it passively
my friend has done BL for 9 accounts he feels your pain
its pretty chill
They might change that and I enjoy the dungeon
Holy fuck 😭
400 activity completions. Even after hundreds of hours I was only like halfway done
I did EoF on all my 3 chars in the first week of its release
I have experienced ultimate pain
As it only includes very specific activities as progress
true
? You can use local llm from huggingface.com
They should've made it 100 or less
they havent updated the quest
acknowledgement of the ethical and useful applications of AI isnt counterargumentative, it only shows that no, disliking AI isnt blind hate
400 Is actually evil
5 were his, 1 for me, his sis, our 2 other friends
8b models /20b models if you have a rtx4090 of course
It’s like- WOW what a soundtrack! WOW what a vibe! Man what a fun location! I love Europa so much it’s right now my only title, Splintered.
But C’MON man, why can’t my friends stop deleting characters I can’t do this campaign anymore
its warranted, justified, extensively documented and researched
Even destiny 1 doesn't have a grind that evil except maybe her champion God roll
You really couldn't be bothered with BL campaign aye
i did it solo for warlock and hunter
Yes and no. In terms of people's personal intelligence, etc. Definitely yes
I did mine solo for titan and hunter iirc
Tbf I only did it once for myself too, all the others times are for others
the setbacks complete removal overnight would provide are recoverable
my titan canonically cant solo anything except shattered throne
Yeah. I thought it was a neat and pretty cool technology at first... Then the implications of it all set in.
I EXCLUSIVELY play warlock
noooo leave claude alone it does my homework
Lmao why
at an overall basis, it does not do enough good to justify the bad
not nearly
You’re joking right
Also, it's funny that all these companies and investors Don't think AI is a bubble but I've been paying close attention to AI and it continues to hallucinate pretty much as much as it has 2 years ago
yes
yes.
COIL IS FUCKING BACK MOTHERFUCKERS
Thank God 😭
It just began dude lol
why are you happy about this
im gonna take sam altmans word for it and say AI is indeed a bubble.
You seem like the type of guy to enjoy Savathun’s Spire
I’d have been so pissed off if AI was around when I was in school
because she's a socialite (just like meee) and she loves her friends
I FUCKING LOVE COIL
That guy is a psychopath
Coil was a fan favorite activity
why
delulu
ITS COOL
i like savathuns spire
I will say it is a pretty impressive plagiarism machine
yeah, but even he thinks its a bubble, the AI shill.
REAL AND TRUE I LOVE COIL
i have haruspex
Cool is good. Spire is fun imo
The real gold of llm is on huggingface not on samAltam cloud platform
its been back
Oh I see, associating guardians with lore/personality is cool cute yeah
Dude I actually squealed when they added Ketch Crash to portal
more roguelite please
I Hate astral alignment. All right guys. We're going to make an activity where you grab a heavy object and you can't do anything except walk and we have enemies that you can't kill. I think this is going to be the most fun activity we've ever made
I have seen like 3 people hate on it, everyone else liked it lmao
and AI being a bubble doesnt mean when it pops AI just magically disappears
you shouldve heard me when i saw override coming back
i roared in joy and triumph
i'd #ratherberaiding
I seriously think that the developers at Bungie sometimes don't just ask themselves "Would this be fun"
no matter what happens, AI is here to stay. But it will be reduced in some aspect, it literally has to because of how expensive it is
and it doesnt earn enough money, not even close
The biggest thing I f****** despise about Destiny 2 is health gating
you can kill the abominations im pretty sure
You have to do some s*** I don't know you can't just flat out kill them
why not just push them away
i think you stand near the runner
Well I'm always the runner
you're still very new/inexperienced to D2's movement tech so this will be difficult for you to do at first
let someone else
but you can just send it to baby jail lmao
I just wish game studios would simply ask themselves. Is this good? And also look at other games and not make the same mistakes like bro? It's not that hard to put two brain cells together and ask yourself would this actually be fun
i mean
Then dont worry guys i will vibecoding destiny 3 with python and react html 🔥🔥🔥🔥
its not hard
you mistake personal opinion for common consensus
to just follow the runner and kill them
i think what will happen is that the barrier to access for gen ai will only get higher as newer models become restricted to paid users and older ones shut down
It's not about difficulty it's about fun
the problem is sometimes a bit of frustration make the fun later better
so it's not really that straightforward
You can have acces to local llm
Yeah, but there's good types of frustration and bad types of frustration
and most find that enjoyable!
you just dont.
Here's something I've been thinking about, to shift back to Destiny related shit, if D2's dying, what's happening to Destiny Rising? I haven't kept up with that. But as it is, it is literally the only thing Destiny-wise that is carrying the flame, technically. Even if it isn't Bungie.
I know it was dwindling in player count itself in many of its game modes though.
People find it fun carrying a ball very very slowly that you literally can't do anything while you're carrying it?
whether it’ll keep up-to-date is another story
If so I have a great game for you. It's called walking simulator
if you dont like carrying it let one of the other 5 people carry
If destiny rising bake money it will continue to go
i somehow forgot how inexperienced and/or inefficient you were with the movement despite being reminded of it a mere minute ago
so i understand your plight a bit
A situation where slow movement is actually good. Is something like crota's end, but that is specifically a penalty, not the core gameplay and the whole idea is having this vibe of being suffocated so it actually works
rising is by netease, bungie only gets like royalty payments for using their IP i guess
Dude I don't know about f****** Icarus tech. I try Icarus and I don't see increased movement so I don't know any complex tech as I'm not some massive Destiny 2 player in recent times
unsure how it works in D1
D1 is still up ?
in d2 we have eager edge swords and skating so... yeah
youre just inexperienced with the basic fundamentals of D2's movement stuff, not just icarus
d1 you just walk through
Weight of darkness
ahh
no mechanics
You can use swords
I know about well skating and eager Edge and Mountain top
the vast majority of movement tech in D2 completely ignores weight and isnt even slowed down by it
I was doing the Teletubby raid last year using Mountain top and eager Edge to get on both sides of the map
some are just reduced in efficiency but still good
I really enjoy that movement, although it's stupid that you have to be forced to use those two weapons just in order to have that movement
teletubby
what
Only those that explicitly hinge on you sprinting dont work
Titans can move at Mach 10 speed with only inexotic armor piece. Even without the exotic armor piece so you can still move super fast
The giant Teletubby boss
yeah thats
not impressive
??
nor new
oh nezarec
Nezarac
Imagine…just IMAGINE.
You know exactly what I’m thinking.
its actually pretty old
Why did they make him red dude and look like that
Weird is not always good. He just straight up. Looks like a Teletubby
...red?
i like his design
Yes, that is me.
tormentors are teletubbies? huh
hes meant to be grotesque and bloated
oh right he's read at the start yea
Why are we talking about teletubbies?
hi red
but Teletubbies?
Just finished reading the insight, pretty pumped.
the fuck kinda bootleg television you got as a child
a person here called Nezarec a teletubby
guy called nezarec the teletubby boss
I do see one issue regarding weapons but I'm pretty excited for what we got already.
at least we ain’t talking about barney
who
?
Null Composure spotted in the Insight btw
WHERE
calhoun
i think all the old pinnacle weapons are also getting reprised
Yo Angelo
lol
i think i gotta do some googling.
null composure
damn
haven't heard that for so long
but who will use fusion rifles now that rocket pulses are a thing..
NULL COMPOSURE AND OVERRIDE COMING BACK
IT GETS BETTER AND BETTER
Anyways, I'm glad with the final update stuff it looks like they're fixing and improving a lot of stuff and hopefully they balance the weapon sandbox so that stuff is actually good and that double special won't be the norm
ah well tbf this is the last update
If you don't understand why double special meta is bad for the game is that it completely removes 1/3 of the weapons in the game
this i agree
While they are going back to updating world drops as well as adding some to worlds that don't have any, I fear for old seasonal weapons that may just be forgotten to time, least of all including all the Episode weapons.
A primary is called a primary for a reason
Unless they plan on adding those to the world drops.
them putting the portal off to the side in favor of the Director is what they should've done in the first place
fuck ass portal
Primaries should be closer in power to special weapons than they currently are
weve had a double special meta for years, but early on primaries were still usable
Truth Nova Bomb
i find it rlly funny how nessus has the most strikes of any destination
In Destiny, 1. I would argue the gap between primary special and heavy was almost perfect
having a double special meta isnt a bad thing, having no other options is whats bad
season of the lost era had cool sandbox balance imo
early on primaries were mandatory
i miss fusion meta so much
Whenever I'm playing Destiny 1. I feel I have to make a real decision if I want to use my special weapon in a situation or not. And the damage is pretty well balanced to the point that my primary can still play me through an entire mission without being completely miserable while special and heavy still does more damage
only took them the game dying to finally listen to player feedback
particle decon come back
double special i like, and i also like primary/special
gotta love destiny 1
i like it when theres a reason to choose
meant red war
i'm ngl double special should be a niche and not a universal meta
during lightfall (or at least Defiance/Deep) Traces + special were the meta
Also, small note that they didn't touch on. I noticed they're making weapon sub-archetypes anti-champion. So the artifact will straight up be gone.
i recall
primaries lowk ass now
im sad
i can’t imagine forced double primary
i wanted to have wayfinders compass back
Yeah, a lot of these changes are the mosr frustrating part about the update. It took the game reaching its end for all of these things to be added.
Think of this way. Two situations
Primary: 10k DPS
Special: 15k DPS
Heavy: 20k DPS
Vs
Primary: 10k DPS
Special: 30k DPS
Heavy 50k DPS
They both have relatively equal proportions, but the gap between each of them is much more severe to the point that a category below is virtually useless compared to the higher category
I'm still peeved it took them eight years to make Daybreak scorch by default.
Like....what?
welp, at least more of mercury returns
where
through the srl map that is
i find primary/special/power weapon designations pretty balanced until rocket sidearms came out
???
yeah
"Guy... what if... people dont' actually like the portal like that"
I can barely kill majors with a primary weapon
rocket sidearms and rocket pulses just throw away all that balance
Yeah, then rocket pulses just completely blew that out of the water
On the topic of SRL, I'm surprised they didn't make a Pale Heart map instead.
Actually I'm surprised the Pale Heart hasn't made any returns since TFS.
No Crucible map, no Gambit map, no SRL map, no dungeon.
Kinda thought it would've been a goldmine for devs to spread throughout the game.
yeah, but for other part i feel its like the place ingame is too "Sacred" for being a map
lightweight spare rations refresh
a finger on the monkey’s paw curls
gambit reward
Well, they could always go with the usual excuse of using a simulation.
it being stasis tho. fingers crossed for a good combo with headstone
to be fair, none of those things except RaD have seen new content in a while
but... eyasluna or spare rations hmmm
the last new crucible maps were added in ItL
It doesn't have headstone.
the last new gambit map even longer ago
i don't like that perk tbh because the crystal kinda randomly spawns where it likes
we know the perk pool, it gets Corpsebloom + Explosive Payload
The last new Gambit map came before I even started playing this game.
Corpsebloom do be better than Headstone also
@onyx sinew Also hey you said you wanted Override back yeah?
no
Or someone else did.
ive never played override
Point is, they're happy.
what’s override
Splicer activity
I'll be happy to jump into it, though.
oh wait it gets firefly OFA lol
we’re finally getting everything we want and it’s all done
I wouldn't say everything.
But yes, we've discussed this.
Everything that’s realistic
i mourn the loss of the vaulted campaigns
You really shouldn't.
wait actually even then
they’ve massacred my game
we’re still lacking a good new player experience
A reminder about how Destiny campaigns used to be....you could only play them once a character.
bro i feel so bad for dmg
Not that the old campaigns were any good.
It is a lot though! Except new Stasis and Strand supers
not that the new light campaign that replaced red war was any better
warmind was hype at first and mid afterwards
but i digress
Man if they aren't saving the supers for the sandbox or surprise reveals on the day it comes out I swear.
Not getting new darkness supers is insane.
stasis needs some love
fr
I’m also praying that we get throwing hammer on Prismatic
Imagine being a f2p player, you unlock your only non-light subclass, with limited exotics to choose from for synergy, and you realize you're stuck using Winter's Wrath.
Warminds big bad was literal strike fodder
Please Bungie I’ll do anything
June 9th update looks like one of the best updates ever . This sucks this will be it. Looks like a good update. Everyone needs to show up june
A strike you can no longer play. 🗣️
ikr
imagine being broke
funny to think we kill a literal worm god in a story mission and the actual accompanying RaD content is just someone else calus hates
Not even panoptes was strike fodder
xol could have made a good dungeon boss tbh, sadly it was in the game before dungeons were a thing
They didn't mention any prism updates
I mean he was
Removing old campaigns and destinations? Whatever, don't care.
Removing strikes and raids?
They just didn’t make him into one
Nah it was the other two missions that were
Fellas the update is lookin pretty juicy
They did say there was some stuff they kept secret
Imagine io with distortions tho
t5 lightweight spare rations
it only took the end of the game for them to figure out overdelivery
Panoptes was an actual campaign boss like voice of riven or ghaul
this will heal the game
Ghaul
check the phone while at work
portal is gone
thank fuck
We love overdelivery too bad there will be no delivery after this
I don't know how to tell you this.
it's still there but relegated to a corner in the director
man thats gone enough
Panoptes went down in about 3 sniper shots IN CoO
Bro was NOT an actual campaign boss lmao
Only good part was his design
Tiered rewards being tied to difficulty 🙏
Adding spammable supers to Ghaul's bossfight was a mistake.
it kinda is right now as well they just made it less convoluted
Mind you this overdelivery only occurred because of a major delay and 6-month content draught
Savathun was the Light vs Light boss done better. She mogged Ghaul.
Being regular fodder>strike fodder
Shit was over in .2 seconds
Great dev article love it
Game finally panders to the skilled
tbf ultimate solo ops is not hard at all lol
The only benefit Ghaul's bossfight had over Savathun's was having a better looking setpiece.
Ghaul was honestly just a very weak villain in general
The exception is fikrul because him being strike fodder works within the lore and is post-campaign content and story
99% of the portal is stupid easy
salt mines sitting in the corner
with the exception of contest of elders that shits hell
eh not even that, salt mines is just annoying
The only thing that's hard in salt mines is the music
Thats true wish we got more aggressive scaling
oh maybe you mean the dread version of salt mines
that one is pain
who thought it a good idea to put an enemy race originally made for combat in open areas in a cramped area for a change
lodi did that and the opposite happened to bro
I'm not sure how recent the news was known internally, but I find it curious that they are adding back a pretty decent portion of stuff within a short time frame that people claimed that bungie couldnt add back. To me this makes it pretty clear it was always top brass limiting the output of the studio intentionally
The nine were so strong they killed a game to prevent their fate
Dread were definitely not meant for just open areas. In half of the Final Shape campaign you’re in cramped spaces with dread enemies
seems abt half knew and half didnt
update still isn't here yet, we don't know how polished the content is, maybe they have no choice but to dump everything that is playable but not completely bug free or something
idk i'm enjoying it so far
June 9th will break the servers
idk, there’s smth about salt mines the location that makes the dread particularly annoying to fight
Literally fucking pillar of devotion or whatever the scorn boss was xd
Yeah but we'll never bind the nine
is that the sniper scorn boss
The fanatic one with the weird floor
they did say the following few weeks after the update they would monitor bugs. At least, thats what i took it as
don't know what that means yet but
Regardless we have a tentative date, that's the most important aspect. Bug free or not is here nor there since the important takeaway here is that it is returning in a short time period when some claimed it could not
so ass during rushdown
i miss rushdown
It's such a non-issue
we’ll never get that back
Gotta play the edge of snoozefest to understand
oh the one where there's an aegis?
i'm going through it atm
Yes
bleh that one
I don't think a third game is gonna fix anything y'all.
Sucks because the story was pretty good the missions were just so unbelievably boring
one eventaully would be nice, like in a decade maybe
I mean, it’d depend on a lot of factors. Upper management/executives and mismanagement of funds being a big one. But if they know what they know now and still make Destiny 3, I’d say a lot of problems could be fixed
one in development now? no
And without the tarnished reputation of content vaulting, regardless of however dogshit the content was
Apart from Levi
I could never hate Levi
Sony isn't entirely stupid so I don't think that they're about to drop another $500 million on Bungie after Marathon flopped, but I can see it eventually
i really have a question
Give d3 10 years and 800 million and we good
is it worth to come back now into destiny 2?
now or never
the final update is june 9th, its gonna introduce a lot of neat stuff, i recommend really getting into it then if you feel like getting back to it
Destiny 2 is fucking amazing, and it's even better when there aren't sad losers whining in your ear about it.
The game has a lot of content and is fun to play with friends. If you see the game’s DLCs are on sale then ye
Go play it. Cause there's nothing else like it
well i used to play but quit when edge of fate came out
also everything on sale forever after june 9th if ur missing anything
I mean yeah, they won’t drop any money right now, but given time we might see something come up
so they wont bring out a expansion like they said this is really the ending of d2?
More or less, yeah
Yep. This is the last content update
Permanent lifesupport
this is an expansion sized update tho, minus a campaign
this is honestly the most loot any expansion will have brought
real
well ill come back.
yeah there will be tons of loot
Everything look fantastic so far, excited for the next update
i had alot of fun
even tho its mostly reprisals, im very excited since its all new perks too
most armour theyve released and guns reprised ever
and best of all, you don't have to worry about your loot being outdated anymore
Tier 5 recluse and mountaintop 🤤
forbbbbyyyy
serious?
Yep. You can thank Bungie's infinitely intelligent leaders once again, because to my knowledge this was a bungie decsion and not a Sony one, they are also shifting resources to the flop that was Marathon which will never not be funny
Finally wont be punished for wearing my memory of cayde, hopefully you can now get a t5 version
t5 lightweight spare rations 🤤
I’m getting the vow forbearance personally
its the last update so nothing is going away or added anymore
well, yes, since no more updates after this, so no newer more powerful loot
Also public events being more relevant is awesome
health on reaload right?
Infinity?
health on reload after multikills iirc
You saw on X
I will also laugh if its literally just the 3 old gambit sets, I think I still have them in the vault
I don’t think Marathon is a flop either. It’s been in Content Limbo for a bit waiting on a new season, but now that’s coming out and we’ll likely see a lot of people returning to the game. It also has a negative reputation with the art scandal which will go away in time
i mean spare rations has always been a lightweight
i have been saying theyre going to make spare rations a lightweight on this update
Thats not what defines a flop though. Cost to sales is what determines a flop
they have to give pvp players everything they want
Corpsebloom / EP is gonna be awesome
isn't spare rations always a lightweight???\
we did NOT neee another one broo
maybe back in the day
they just changed lightweight hcs to shoot 140rpm
hasnt been one for a while
rose has been the only one
for years
Also there is new title call Destiny Infinity
And cost to sales, there was no way it could ever succeed. By this same metric, Final Shape was a flop
okay you guys are right lol nvm me
The new destiny changes look like they’ll be fun
There was gonna but it never got green lit. It was basically, 2 DLCs a year didn't work we're going back to 1
Incorrect. This was an idea floating around Bungie but it got scrapped in favor of ending support on the game
imagine what theyre going to give eyasluna
yall think they bringing back onslaught shinies
Thats an understatment
EP / EP
Neva
firefly headstone id assume
big maybe
The eepy gun 💤
Sadly yes, tech debt and dev costs are unreal. Part of why the marathon choice stings, because it really should have been a D3 to streamline and cut back, and then marathon. But it is what it is now
Maybe for the Tier 5 variants?
Sundered weapons… 🤤 🤤 🤤 🤤 🤤 🤤
that would be lame
I will be farming
The Hc, scout and trace feel so good
i'm more a firefly ofa person
I personally haven’t used the shotgun
scouts in pve
no
The slug is also really good
DMG said they won’t
it’s good for damage
SRL armor bonus looks good for arc builds
Also, 21% delerium.... cant wait to grind that out again
I just hope we hear about a primary weapon buff tmrw
great for pvp
Only rapid fire scouts feel good in PvE imo
cope pve shotgun
They’ll have the shiny variant for MoT but not ITL
Best damage per shot slug in the game and really good in PvP
I'm sorry, but it is a flop, at least financially. We probably wont ever get concrete numbers but we know that it likely cost a lot to make, and that it didnt sell very well. From what I gathered and again - not concrete, but it sold like 1.3 - 1.5 million units. At $40 a pop that's still only $60 million in revenue and of course this is before deductions and all that
I hate sundered farming but the loot is too good not to
Im actually satisfied with the new gear so far
who using slugs for dps tho
Yeah but it's pretty cool tho
The gift of Apollo tells me weapon balancing/changes tomorrow will make Double slug meta
I frankly don't find it very interesting. I played it for a bit and liked if but I've already uninstalled
Thats what I'm sayin, fourth horseman, cascade point gl, cascade point rapid fire shotty for the win
dsc taniks quickswap meta
I’m still new so I don’t really know how impactful any of that is
As I said, it’ll be for the MoT variant, not the one for ITL
And again, financially there is no way it could have ever been a success. Bungie’s biggest problem is financial mismanagement and horrible upper management/executives, which both eat away at what should be profit for the company
To each their own
didn’t see u said that already, myb
nw
Is the moon getting the refresh too?
Yep
no everything but the moon
Distortions are there
even eternity
It was weird cuz they didnt show a sample weapon
They are finally bring loot quality to being tied to activity difficultly which has been asked for since portal was released. Destinations getting some love is amazing. And my god the sheer amount of weapons we are getting is absolutely insane. Not to mention ALL R&D weapons and armor are being revamped
seen a wizard there recently, not sure if relevant
I’m kinda curious as to what they’re gonna do for Shattered Throne/Pit weapons lmao
Again, a lot of marathon players take it as an attack but its not. Sometimes games that really resonate with us flop and eventually die. I fucking LOVED new world but, it had a rough launch, a terrible engined that made its content cycles way too long and in the end, it didnt last. New World was a great game to a lot of people, and a flop
I'm surprised distortions will rotate hourly instead of daily.
new ones i’m assuming
Nope, its still haunted
cosmodrome distortion looks like siva
They also didn’t show one for the EDZ. A lot will still be a surprise
Or Throne World
What about Season Pass for new skin armor and weapon?
No idea yet
They’re basically giving people a reason to replace all the stuff they’ve earned across the games lifetime for new and possibly better builds
Toast to toa5t, ik the game isn't doing well and I don't believe it will be enough to keep Bungie afloat. But damn is it a cool game
I just wish we could go back to mars man.... or titan. Titan was bland as far as gameplay, but man, the scale and visual design was 10/10
They will still run the season pass intended for shadow and order.
Has a new exotic hc
Precisely. Since they are bringing old gear up to the power standard of today, builds are going to become significantly more diverse I believe. Especially in the legendary realm
That is the hope. We’ll see tomorrow I hope
Secret exotic mission on nessus trust
A perfect way to close it out, so I am 100% grateful for that
Sounds super cool :3
I got set up yesterday with a risk runner set and I’ve been enjoying it tho I’d perfer to do.. other things
Thorn...2!
What kind of play styles do you like?
Edit: risk runner is great but it just does everything for you
I just need a tiered memory of cayde to be a thing
toot
New weapons perhaps
Why do we still have nessus? I don't recall there being a campaign left on it. I miss mercury
D2 team confirms artifact will be talked about
Yippee!! Any inferable hints
We saw already that weapons are going to have intrinsic stunning capabilities
It'll be made to fit with the update presumably
Strike/Campaign content. Also the largest of the planets. Mercury had the LEAST on it
BUNGIE LET ME PULL ARTIFACTS FROM COLLECTIONS AND MY LIFE IS YOUR 🙏🙏🙏
Current artifact is boring as hell
The void stuff is dope tho and that sword circle bit
... i kinda like the sniper perks
Big fan of AOE, debuffing, and high single target dps while being able to weaken crowds to be easily defeated by myself or allies
I also really enjoy doom, so anything that would basically turn destiny into doom for me would be sick
there are 2 too many words in this sentence
meditation and refurbished pair well icl
Yeah. Sniper meditation + reload at range make that gun a nice weapon
Shhhh🤫

they never were
What campaign is left for though? Strikes make sense. Been a few months since I've last played
Also curious to see what they’re gonna do with the artifact system. Seems like champ mods are becoming innate to weapons/weapon archetypes but I wanna see if we actually get custom artifacts or can equip previous artifacts
Trophy Hunter probably returning btw
Liiiit the best kind of build, I could cook up some ideas.
What class?
I’m guessing we’ll just get a cycling artifact that doesn’t have champ mods to allow for more unique artifacts
Has ties to other campaigns and was frequently used in seasonal/episode content. No campaign takes place entirely on Nessus though
Currently only playing warlock, that’ll be simplest to talk about for now lol
I agree, but Marathon also does not offer much to the market I'd argue. In contrast there still isn't really a competitor to the destiny franchise at least directly anyway, but using an IP as old as Marathon for a genre as niche as an extraction shooter was probably not a very good move from the start, nonetheless it is also contending with a few titles most notably tarkov on pc and arc raiders on pc and console, even if i dislike arc raiders as well. I have stated a few times probably here and the marathon discord that I foresaw the game bleeding players once they tuned into what the gameplay loop is like, and that has been evident for a while now. It's no secret they also basically said it's not for everyone - they're only now adding a PVE mode, but i'm afraid it's already too late. Attempting to expand your playerbase is dangerous - we saw how that ended up with Halo Infinite, but limiting it is clearly not a good idea either and Marathon couldn't be a better example
Probably nostalgia but I miss the first few years. I really liked the titan and mercury environment
Marathon killed d2
Bungie shouldn't have allocated funds to a new game if they were going to neglect the old one
Cryo go to bed
Marathon killed nothing, bungie killed d2
I just woke up
Have you tried the buddy build yet 👀
Go back to bed
Well alright
Anyone else agree most of the game is too easy?
The entire of the game is too easy
Try solo vespers on hunter
Me when i just do patrols
-50 is easy
I wish they upped the difficulty or had options
plenty
First decendant had hard mode patrol for example which was actually kind of nice
Chat that's what the portal is 😭
I don’t think trying to revitalize a game is a bad idea, nor do I think it’s impossible. Destiny has done it SEVERAL times (D1 Launch sucks, Taken King brings people back. D2 Launch sucks, Forsaken brings people back. Beyond Light is mediocre? Witch Queen. Lightfall? Final Shape)
But you don't default matchmaking to activities that are difficult
why did bungie make a new game if they were just gonna stop supporting their old ones?
bad management is what it is
So then it's harder cuz it's solo, but also lfg
Common Sense solves a lot of problems, but unfortunately CEOs and business people don't have common sense
Financial mismanagement and bad executives
They were working on about four projects to five projects all at once
Lack of resources
Because they were not under the impression that they would stop supporting d2
I didn't say you can't create difficulty. I'm saying most of the game by default is not difficult and is way too easy. Extremely easy to the point that I did a strike on a new Titan and didn't die once even though it was in the middle of the open just because of hammer
No chance we get heresy activity back? Or other ones like the season of the deep? So much content just wasted down the drain
In Destiny 1, You'll get your f****** ass eaten on dark blade as a new character in the middle of the open
We got overrides so I'm cool
And now theyre in a death spiral with losing devs and having to put out more and better content
So happy about this
It's straight up over they're not going to recover from this
Overrides?
And most of the good talent is gone
and they might be bringing back warmind cells

Splicer activity
Same, i was screaming, i LOVED override
Splicer was the best
Ah didnt play that season
Miss the cabal weapons
Tbf you are basically a god
I mean they’ll recover. Sony isn’t going to let the company go under, but they’re gonna downsize and new games will be slow from here on out
im excited
The fact that you can run around with a hammer and survive with very little effort is dumb
The whole point of combat is to struggle against an enemy and win not to get free kills with no survival
any takers on bets whenever or not a "no, us the guardian is not actually that strong in the lore in terms of raw power" is warranted again
Yeah, just not anytime soon, i wish the bungie devs the best of luck and i hope for a brighter future
The talent is gone
Abilities have got just that strong now
They are certainly going to attempt it with Marathon, I can't see it getting any more than triple its current playercount, but the way i see it is since Destiny had a larger audience to begin with, the returning players become exponential if that makes sense. Marathon is already lower than D2 only a few months in, and it's not even June 9 yet.
If they put in new talent, it's not the same talent so it's not going to be the same game
My point about difficulty is imagine you have a shooter game where you have no HP and you don't die. How fun would that be
We want destiny 3 when do we want it now we want destiny 3 when do we want it now we ....
Some of the talent yes. There are still plenty of talented developers and artists. And those who leave will likely join new studios or start their own
still not as strong as it was before
There's no chance. We've killed CROTA, Nvota, Xul, Oryx, his daughters, xivu araths high champion (twice), THE WITNESS, rhulk, calus, the list goes on
which would apply if we killed them fair and square
We're not smart, we're clever
and really lucky
We haven't killed the winnower
shit, name a single powerful enemy we've killed fair and square that is a demonstration of our strength and capability
No guardian has so that doesn't count
For the story to continue, they're probably going to have to do the winnower and then a parallel universe after that because once you kill the whenower it's pretty much over
You might be, took me 8+ months to get a inmost + cyrt roll
Dude, Google cannot pick up on voice to text to save its f****** life
i mean why would we
im just going by lore here
not gameplay
Wtf is whenower
He's our hype man
uhhh the tank strike
dude at the end
the winnower literally cant try to fight us
Let it go... most d2 players now like their ability spam. Nothing is gonna change that tbh
I agree with you but its just not worth complaining about anymore at this stage
Difficulty is problematic because it usually just involves the stupid deficit which turns you into a plywood board and enemies into bullet sponges, but i somewhat agree about difficulty. The main issue i think is that enemies arent really designed to be "smart" as they would have been in halo 3 for example, where the ai directly reacts to leadership deaths, changes tactics etc
right yea i guess they were kinda strong
we are above average for sure though yes
we're just not some kind of god who could 1v1 oryx
Fair
Old halo AI on legendary
Those mfs were insane
Yeah. They didnt mess around
Very actually. RoR2 goes crazy
borderlands 2 with grog nozzle
Wait are people trying to claim the guardian doesnt have feats? Have none of you raided? Our feat list is massive
and thats why we did a 6v1 against an oryx we starved just barely not to the point of actual death, while hoarding his magical nuclear arsenal to blow up right in his face, while also stealing his nuclear bunker
You still have HP and difficulty scales over time but it's relatively easy and I see your point. That is a pretty fun game even if you had no HP but having HP makes it more fun
thats not strength, but it is being clever.
100 percent true. Nothing manacles build is my soul mate build
Salv was genuinely so boring to play😭
like all the raid bosses didnt take us seriously or just revived so weakened
we're not even the strongest guardian, but they send us into hell not because we're "the strongest", they send us in because we're quick on our feet, we adapt to any situation quickly and formulate a solution almost immediately
rhulks final phase is him being serious
Someone with pic perms please Post the screenshot of the Sparrow racing weapons
They look really good
He was fun but was also the most powerful character in the game by a mile
we're able to also do this while communicating this between 5 other people
we canonically do every raid wipeless
Made UVHM look like a joke lmao
I have never seen so many bad, misinformed takes
that is a feat, that is impressive
I like the rocket in the bottom right weapon
Ror2 difficulty is the most unnoticeable thing ever until something gets behind you and breaks each separate vertabre of your spine
Bl2 endgame genuinely makes me so sad
Its so fucking bad
was crota at least fair game
You should not have been able to keep gunzerker up for like 20 mins at a time 😭
Rhulk straight up throwing hands as a bossfight is still cool af. I like RoN cuz its fun but Nezerac is such a bitch ass lmao
It’s unnoticeable for now
BL2 "fans" when it's time to boot up UVHM:
yea at this point is common knowledge we're not "strong" rather than adaptive and clever. Well, we're strong, but its not our main strength
Next dlc looks promising
you rarely see anyone with the misconception these days but they still exist.
Ruby/grog simulator
That and some of the combos with guns were ridiculous. AHAB and Pimpernel were insane
Our guardian is... what are you.... bro what
Guys the last time I played D2 it was the final shape. Do I even dare get renegades now that the game is ending?
I like the idea of slag but not when it becomes mandatory to even kill stuff lol
YOU WILL SLAG AND YOU WILL LIKE IT!!!!
Or magic missile if you're playing anyone else
well its not exactly a closely kept secret.
You still want grog purely for the passive healing
Dont exactly need a particularly good understanding of the lore to know that.
Wait for a sale and then sure. The DLC actually was fun, don’t get me wrong.
Are you going to make a point or just sputter and stammer
thats not to say we're weak
Some of you do not read the lore and it shows. Our guardian is well well renowned for our immense power
by no means are we weak
Can we please get a cluster rocket buff
yes, hence my statement of this very thing
I want my D1 fantasy in D2
i implore you to read it.
I don't even wanna imagine badassosaurus
Well the badasssaurus rex afterwards was even more annoying
Wdym boss can reflect your damage back to you anytime it feels like it
I also want explosive rounds to be absolutely cracked
but its not our strength that was the main factor for dealing with raids
D1 fantasy was everything was weaker and hit harder
John "walk em' down" guardian
What was weaker?
Enemies
When I did true vault hunter I just hid behind the wall with unkempt herald
in a regular 1v1, any raid boss would turn the floor into a canvas, and our mangled corpse as the paint.
They didnt take a lot to kill
Bomb logic baby
In terms of damage sure but difficulty no
D1 hard mode raids was you had 5 hp and the enemies had 5 hp
Opposite
To be fair the game was scaled differently. You also had SUBSTANTIALLY less heavy ammo
Enemies dealt more damage generally on d1
Yes correct. And your primary did more damage back then
Yeah cause the game lacked depth
There also weren’t the insane regen effects in D1
||TROPHY HUNTER|| IS COMING BACK
adaptive and clever cunning, at the right place at the right time, is more devestating than any blade
It was more of a conventional shooter than anything else
Yesssss
bungie if you’d love us, you’d make the DSC armor bonus warmind cell related
When you needed health, you used Red Death because that was just about the only way to get it back besides passive regen
Guardians are fun powerscaling wise because they are kinda glass cannons too
D1s fantasy was kinda a cod campaign with some very minor perks tossed in
Please I need Alone as a god
Red death sucks. Ass is not even worth using even on crota

We dont demonstrate strength
we demonstrate the validity of the bomb logic, by repeatedly kicking ass with it.
Idk about lacking depth - d2 took years to get to super customizability anywhere close to 1, but I guess in terms of weaponry thats somewhat true
Best weapon name in the game
Enjoy your downvote kid
A lot of destructive potential and power, but also their life and their Ghost could be ended by stray bullets
Well crota you just needed to hit hard, cause you dont need to actually damage him
ive died to screebs more than raid bosses
Destiny 1 best primary
we killed the witness using the bomb logic
leviathan raid weapons have some of the best designs ngl
Holy mid
Best designs and all S tier names
we killed the witness by using facts and logic
you also need to consider the skill of a guardian and their ghost, which vary a lot
Treads upon stars with explosive rounds, life support and grenadier is the absolute best role you can get
in the end, we never got a primary ammo shotgun 💔
our guardian and ghost is probably smart enough to not make it easy to kill our ghost
Well technically lethe Nobless but you ain't getting that s***
Good
Best roll on a mid weapon
WOKE ghost beam took him out
I’m crine son
yeah, love wins
Yeah there's a reason they didnt bring universal remote back
I’m actually not familiar with that
Woke took out destiny 2
We may be able to summon black holes but we only have ~200 health
Woke will create destiny 3
Do you have 13,000 hours in Destiny 1?
that srl armor set bonus looks pretty nice
Tell me what you think is better
close, we can shoot black holes!
be quiet bro
Spreadshot hand cannons:
ur baiting
That's not the flex you think it is
You all do know, that in D1 Ikora literally states we are her equal and that she knows we will surpass them? Even saint agrees with this. People saying our strength doesnt make us special clearly do not read the lore
still not convinced they're just trying to make people hate D1
What is it
wrong. life support was a crazy perk that rolled with explosive rounds on scouts and hand cannons, energy drain regained health, cauterize for solar titans
Nova bomb
well, not a black hole
bro they’ve been arguing about d1 since 3am
No. I talk to women. And men. And everyone in between
😭
hunter had terrible recov and nothing to regain health other than life support tho but invis helped
Graviton lance
yeah my point exactly.
yes!
Tell me what gun is better than tread upon Stars
-Revving Up (2-piece): Fast movement builds up a charge that gradually increases your health regeneration speed. Once you are Fully Revved, sprinting grants Speed Booster.
-Dielectric Drift (4-piece): Sliding while Speed Booster is active jolts combatants in front of you.
yeah ik adding onto it
Life Support more like Slop Support
ahh. Yeah to be fair it didnt seem like a rebuttal.
Fatebringer:
Oh that's neat
t5 midnight coup is coming in june
Its d1 bro all the guns are good
btw panentheist was ran out of ALL destiny 1 servers for his deranged damage testing
In Destiny, 1 is extremely mediocre
Its a miniature gravitational singularity, it's a black hole
It's a little bit overrated but it's not bad for a starting gun
BUDDY
That one FWC scout
Treads upon Stars the same archetype that has better perks and better stats
literally top 3 perks in the game

no, some aspects of it can emulate and be similar to a black hole, but its not no
Wrong
Maybe if you’re a noob
A black hole at that size, at that mass, would end our solar system.
Oh is he d1's waxpython
What about it is wrong
Whip out the proof gang
Don't make me pull up the spreadsheet
You’re misinformed
Spreadsheet is unreliable
Hope that helps
the real life physics that this would canonically operate on
oh no, keyboard warrior is rising up
literally the best perk for solo play and the best possible perk in that 1st slot for pve usage. cc is shit
Tell me precisely why you think the wounded is better than treads
A black hole of that volume would end everything
graviton lance might not even shoot black holes
not to mention: Not every singularity is a black hole
Gotta be trolling. Literally like bottom 5 perks in the game
every black hole has a singularity though
We are absolutely a strong and prodigal Guardian, but there really isn’t meant to be that big of a gulf between us and our particularly notable allies. The game and lore goes out its way to demonstrate the real reasons we defeat our enemies is through strategy and how we exploit weaknesses and advantages and such
This guys a d1 casual
Better stats
Woah woah woah we are definitely extremely strong. There's no other explanation for how we were able to hold on to the side of a ship going near light speed.
go watch any vosik solo and tell me life support is ass
Is this the Krusty Krab?
Clearly you’re new to the game
actually the "light speed" effect thing on ships is not light speed!
its space folding
He thinks having 15% damage boost for 3 seconds is better than life support
i mean yeah its fast as fuck and we should not be able to hold onto that
He also doesn't understand that having life regen allows you to be more aggressive
clearly you’ve never solo flawlessed wrath
but its not lightspeed
That's why I said near lightspeed.
have u tho
What are we talking about anyway
i have
its not quite that either afaik
Take the Witness. We do not defeat the Witness through strength, but because of the actions we take to free the Traveler’s Light and also to understand the Witness’ consciousness and the defectors, allowing us to then use the Traveler’s gifts directly to sever the Witness from within, weakening it little by little until we are able to unmake it
Gunk probably thinks that Firefly is the best perk
I wonder if the Pale Heart with have distortions.
to give a rudimentary explanation of how it works:
Imagine two ends of a paper
space folding is kinda like folding the paper to shorten the distance between the two ends
