Essentially every time I quit the game I get teleported to a different safe zone or sometimes straight up to my current selected quest. You need metal parts to repair weapons. However, each weapon only has a certain number of repairs, depending on rarity.

You can do Blue Shield Protect missions to refurbish those weapons, only available in single player though. Otherwise, no. You have to either dismantle or sell the broken weapons.
