Yes yeah these guys are rare, I initially thought they were exclusive to the side mission "Stay Human" but I've seen seen them rarely appear in a random encounter with some Baron soldiers with guns. They're just out in the middle of the street shooting at zombies and there's 2 armor virals and like 2-3 baron soldiers fighting them

One also had a couple of Asylum virals in the mix

It’s a dark zone not a safe zone, they should’ve been spawning in there since day one but at least the recent update fixed that. They’ve always been able to get into dark zones if your in a chase, not every dark zone has spawns for them but a lot of them do

so ive been doing ALOT of comparisons between raytracing settings, and its QUITE clear that raytraced shadows is seriously fucked up

It’s not even worth the effort, there’s not enough difference between RT on and off, it’s not worth the performance drop and TB isn’t the type of game that would benefit from RT like Cyberpunk does. Sure it helps makes things look a little better but it’s not enough of a difference to me.

when the FOV is adjusted with raytraced shadows on, this sort of thing starts to happen all OVER the place, and if its at a time of day where the sun is at a steep angle, like sunrise or sunset, it gets way worse. first game ive ever seen to have this issue

Cyberpunk is one of the very very few games that actually benefit from it, in fact it’s the only game I can think of that actually does. Almost every other game is better without. It’d be one thing if the game needed it but most games these days are optimized well enough to not have to have it and still look amazing and there’s other ways to get the same/ similar results without something as demanding as RT

even though its supposed to be a natural organic mountain area, every, single, wall, cliff, ect, is for all intents and purposes, flat, with only small irregularities that will never be bigger than a certian amount as the parkour system wouldnt be able to deal with it

And if you mean the edges of some of the rocks that’s because your meant to climb up them, but not every rock has that. I’ll look again more closely but I’ve put over 300 hours into the game and haven’t see that, I’ve ran the entire edge of the map.

way less vegetation density in this one, so there is even less things to hide this limitation

Yeah but the surface is flat for video game purposes because you can’t climb them otherwise, unless they revolutionized the climbing system to be closer to real life rock climbing and that’s just too much. At the end of the day it’s meant to be climb on and quickly at that. RDR2 is way different most of the mountains are just there for show and aren’t meant to be climbed on or up and climbing isn’t a core mechanic of the game like parkour is to DL, I understand what your saying though

There’s a point where if you blend reality into gaming too much it’s just not fun and you’re better off doing it in real life. And to spend all that time and money over developing the parkour system just for this single game is too much, would it be nice? Sure but nobody expected that this game was never meant to be this grandiose thing it was originally a DLC that turned into a game. It’s meant to be short and sweet, it’s the next game that’s going to do what you’re saying but no one expected that from this game. I’m not saying your wrong but your picking the game apart and you can do the same thing with any and every game to be honest.

It’s a game, of course you’ll see flaws if you over analyze it

for once, a clear example of raytracing making a big difference! any situation where light streams into a room always gives dramatic results. check out the objects on the far right leaning up against the wooden dresser of some sort actually having shadows, and the vegetation near the entrance actually reflecting the sky color and lighting in general, where as without it, everything has a very flat look.

and to play devils advocate, here is an example of it making almost no difference at ALL lol

another great example of a big difference between raytracing on and off, but its primarily just raytraced global illumination that makes the big difference, reflections play a small but noticable part, but raytraced shadows basically has very little impact in this scene

I just don't get the thought process, what's the point of having a server about a video game if people can just post slop that isn't even actual gameplay or screenshots in channels meant to be dedicated to those. like sure he posts a screenshot but then he's fed it into an AI slop generator, that's not really a screenshot or gameplay anymore

AI clearly makes multiple people here uncomfortable and I personally see it as going against the spirit of the channel. Like, it feels like allowing AI generated images into a photography competition where everyone else is submitting real photos they took with a camera. What's the point?
