Many people have problems with dlss in DLTB, and use FSR/xess instead

in the main menu its about 180 fps and in game it drops to 15 AT MOST with frame generation on

Hey guys, this might be a stupid question, but I just got The Beast and it's one of my first few games on my laptop that I got for Christmas. No matter what I do, I can't fix the framerate issue, and it's only 1 frame per whenever-I-feel-like-it.

My computer isn't built for gaming in particular, but it has no issues loading REANIMAL, all three Outlast games, Roblox, and Amnesia the Bunker. I have all the graphics set to very low (it's still beautiful af) but the framerate is still unimaginably difficult to deal with.

Does anyone know what I can do?

the beast is a very demanding game, you playing on a laptop that wasnt built for gaming exactly isnt much of a help. it loads games like reanimal, outlast, roblox, and amnesia decently because those are older games or games that aren't as demanding. as for what you can do, turn on frame gen or an upscaler option with nvidia or amd, if your laptop supports it. otherwise, save up for a budget pc or a better laptop if you wanna run games better, cuz most games are only gonna get more demanding in the future.

but if you have decent specs, it still wont change the fact that the beast will still be very taxing on your system. a lot of times, its a matter of optimization

I would then recommend avoiding night time as much as possible, Through my one life playthrough I only had to go out at night for a total of 3 times.
The chance to die is to high and not really worth it.

Unless you enjoy the night gameplay, but outside of that the dark zones can also be cleared during the day without having to worry about the alpha, at most you have to deal with 2-3 regular Volatiles but they are usually split up in different sections.
I played it slow and safe until beating the story on one life

Some side quests could take place at night but for the most part if you keep an eye on the time you can do the majority of missions during the day, I would suggest sleeping until morning before doing any main missions, but there will be at least around 2 or so missions that will put you at night time.
I am just being a bit vague to avoid any potential spoilers.

Like there are these moments where I'm ambushed by 3 humans. Normally a somewhat hard encounter early on, especially with low Stamina. Well, let me just pop out my AR with 200 bullets. 1 bullet to each head, done.

no, NG+12 is just when all enemies stop at lvl 300. Since we also have 300 as a cap, it feels basically no different from when we did NG+1 as a legend level 5-10

it depends on how much you're doing side quests. Each NG+ cycle has a minimum level and maximum level. If you focus main story and only main story I imagine the level of the world would eventually outscale your own level

yep, nightmare barely changes enemy health values, mostly just damage. Early game I'm killing biters in 2 light attacks or 1 power attack. Only near the last 2 or 3 main quests does the difficulty start to feel a bit better, but it's still easier than Brutal with lvl 15 cap

You could stop if you want but it's fun to play through the story again, especially on co-op and you could grind out co-op loot boxes

most of the mines are pretty shit, idk why they exist. They function fine as a source of damage but there's almost no situation where setting traps in advance is the best option compared to just using the insane mobility that the game offers

once you're at about lvl 5 in RL he's perfectly killable with a lvl 5 weapon, and he gives tons of resources

This part is intended to be stealthy. Watch the volatiles and learn their paths. Only move to take a sample when they have their backs turned. Crouch the whole time and don’t use your flashlight. Be very very slow and patient and you’ll do just fine

There are 3 volatiles and they all only walk in a straight line back and forth, so you have a lot of leeway to get the samples

Also worth noting that I’ve done that mission 3 times and I’m pretty sure while you are taking the sample, the volatiles can’t detect you at all even if they turn around

So you’re protected during the animation at least

The can detect you while walking around, but while you are retrieving each sample (there’s an animation of Crane kneeling down and using the injector) they won’t be able to detect you

Like the only way I can enjoy that is just by not NG+'ing anymore but that kills my fun because I can't replay fights or bosses or questions

In DL1 and 2 once I got to max level I was having a blast being overpowered and just NG+'ing up the wazoo and speed running the story as an unstoppable force

id say the gore, animations, melees and the finishers all make the game seem more alive and interesting to play compared to the other dying light games not slandering dl1 or dl2 but dltb looks beautiful has nice animations and just is honestly a very well made game sure theres bugs here and there one of my strongest likes about this game personally though is the parkour and the gore

Aside from what others might say Ill keep it real with you do not get this game unless it's on sale the others have made good points as to why it's better in some ways but unfortunately they forget to mention a huge problem you can finish the campaign in less than 6 hours and there are less than 20 sidequests, literally.

The only thing the beast has over dying light 1 is the fact that it's a modern game with dying light mechanics, it also brings back 3 popular characters which helps in the nostalgia department but the beast is basically an overglorified dlc they sold as a standalone game because problems just like dl2 I wouldn't expect much but it's still a really good game

The colour grading does make the game look a bit grey by default, but you can always go into nvidia control panel on your pc, select colour settings (or whatever it’s called) and then increase the digital vibrance slightly

That will make the colours pop more if that’s what you want

Also make sure the colour depth of you monitor is set to the highest value in nvidia control panel

Use crouch and jump, time it correctly and it will work better. Some people try not to have an active landing for this to go faster (you don't have to time it as much)
