From DL2 on it seems like they just messed up the parkour, it’d very janky compared to 1, earlier I died because I jumped towards a wall to grab it and instead of grabbing it he scrambled up it and then fell but didn’t grab the handholds

That is not a skill issue, the parkour is definitely less reliable

The same issues can happen in one. Also dude just press the jump button again while looking at it and you'll grab on manually

Its definitely something you gotta get used to but it makes alot of sense when you do

I really want another dying light spinoff. 2/beasts freeflow mechanics paired with the more realistic jumps and climbing of 1 for the true regular human feel but still fun. You could play as a runner in harran and you need to deliver and retrieve packages, zombies are more like obstacles than enemies. During day missions you place traps and pipelines and at night you use them. Could be round based and multi-player with classes like tower raid.

What are our thoughts on the new update? I haven't got into it yet as I'm finishing a Nightmare run, I think what they have added is cool, but it would have been great to get some proper side quests into the game, a new mode is fine but if there's no new content to go with it, it's just a decent mode that requires yet another playthrough of the campaign

Well yes, essentially, I don't disagree that some games are made for that one initial experience, some of my favourite games are like that, with The Beast though I think that adding content such as that does enable player retention, keeps people coming back

I think updating the beast is just supplemental and meant to not leave a barren wasteland between it and the next big release.

And when you have that mindset it becomes a snack here and there rather than scraps of a meal

Good question, I'd like something with a bit more verticality like DL2, the parkour for The Beast is something I enjoy, just not so much of a focal point given the map, but I do enjoy the map, just feel there could be more ways to get into the parkour

All good, I think that's fair, but I feel adding additional side quests, focusing purely on the people in Castor Woods, maybe set up some very small nod to the GRE in some way without being too on the nose, that would add more life to Castor Woods and build up to the next game

Alternatively it could be sorta very like rust or dayz and you could pick rais or the tower or neither and everyone's vying for the same pickups. Characters drop inventory when they die. Ziplines and traps stay there until the server shuts down or it gets destroyed ingame

Everyone has the same stats

Weapons will make a difference but guns are loud and ammo is rare and better used on players

If you need to kill a zombie youd be encouraged to do it through stealth

Overall stealth and item management would be emphasized

UV Light wouldnt be a batter and instesf every time you leave whatever HQ you picked you get like 4 flares till you go back

My suggestion is just to always have an open weapon slot in your weapon wheel and switch to that whenever you're not in combat in a story mission

Never deleted it for me but dropped it almost every time unless I had an empty weapon slot

Turns out trning FSR on and setting it to quality gets me 90-100 fps on 1440p. Which is good but also... DL2 I played on MAX-NATIVE on 1440p on 100-200 fps. So kinda sad. Wish the optimization was better.
