As of now doing multiple NG+ is your best bet. Story and side quests give the most XP, safe zones and power and water stations, random encounters are good too. Or you can try and join someone on a higher NG+ like 6-7+ to get the additional XP

It’s the only difficulty I play on, it’s a good challenge and I enjoy the new food and flashlight mechanics. You’ll also get the rewards for beating the game on nightmare so it’s a win win

If you like a challenge you’ll enjoy it, enemies will hit hard. You will also have minimum hud, also loot and enemies won’t be pinged with survivor sense either so it’s immersive.

Stack up on food, batteries and heals and you’ll be fine

Just figured I'd mention a thing I finally found out. I had an issue the other day with my XP multiplier being slightly higher than that of my co-op partners. WE started a new NG+3 and my multiplier was once again far higher than theirs. I did however find out the reason. The scaling of enemies in NG+ that came in 1.5 also seems to apply to the XP multiplier. So it does not matter which NG+ you are on, you get the multiplier for the legend level you are. Just so you know if someone else is mystified 🙂

Yeah I haven’t had any of those issues fortunately, the one bug I had was killing the enemies to fast and the game didn’t register it so I couldn’t progress until I reset which I’ve seen other people have had happen and it’s one of the more common bugs.

I just learned that different dark zones have different loot. I was trying to hunt down oxidizers but wasn't getting any. Looked at the potential loot for different dark zones. The pharmacy has oxidizers in the possible loot. Went there and got like 8 of them. 😅

Yeah honestly I've yet to do any of the things in DL2 yet but the idea of needing to go at night and the immunity timer ticking gives a whole new level of urgency

You have to be a higher level than the enemy by about 20-30 levels

So enemies on NG+1 are roughly level 30 and below so if your level 60 or higher you’ll 1 shot them

Enemies scale by about 30 levels per NG+ and that’s about how much you should be leveling up as well. Enemies and XP stop scaling at the start of NG+11

I’m a legit player I don’t want people dropping me broken items, or trying to boost my level, flying around the map, using infinite ammo etc. it kills immersion and I want nothin to do with it. Do whatever you want in your own game, just don’t go joining people with that stuff and it’s not an issue. And you say it’s not PvP yet friendly fire is on and you can easily get griefed and DL1 does have PvP in which people cheat more often than they don’t. Not sure why me saying I don’t like cheaters bothers you so much especially after I said do what you want in your own game that’s more than reasonable.

I decided to continue with the story after a break.

Spoilers:
The new psychological horror is awesome, like in Starchild's side quest. However I'm not really liking the whole telepathy stuff. I kind of want DL to stay grounded in the science rather than go full supernatural. DL always seemed like a viral apocalypse with experimental mutation, but never supernatural. The cheesy telepathy conversations made me cringe.

I could imagine a DL psychological horror game where it feels supernatural, but everything is just inside Crane's head like a hellish nightmare from PTSD. In the real DL world everything stays the same, though. A DL game with horror elements of Silent Hill or Visage, and Layers of Fear. Starchild's side quest nailed this, but it was too short.

I have an idea: Crane is trapped in his own mind reliving his nightmares in between each of the Baron's experiments; the premise of the game is you are in a hellscape, experiencing seemingly supernatural and psychological horror. Your demons of your past are horribly twisted and hunt you (Jade, Rahim, Rais, your guilt of knowing you started all of this, etc), all the while you are still surrounded by, the usual, but now hellish apocalypse. You are never free from them, because they are manifestations of your trauma. The world is always dark, twisted, and disorients you. You cannot escape. The real world setting of the game takes place during the 13 years Kyle was captured, but everything happening is not real, except to you. Gameplay loop of a psychological/survival horror.
