Can’t do nothing but give feedback. I can agree volatiles are crazy xp. I’d expect that as you get higher and higher but it was quick. That type of XP should want the player to prepare properly and motivate them as it would help them grind faster each NG+ vs all in one run for sure.

Yeah I’m not crazy. When I started the first day. I could only do head stomps to them. And finishers only on volatiles and goons. Can’t anymore. I took a level 15 weapon at 180 and it took 5 hits to kill a regular infected but no finisher showed. (Not that it matters since they get one shotted)

Is the legend level upgrade for craft parts found bugged? I have invested into it 6 times, giving me just over 50% and pairing it with my full set scavenger gear and I don't see any difference. Not even the rare parts like oxidisers increase. Just always a +1

The legend level upgrade just increases the odds for the "best" loot roll of that resource.

Look at it like this: You pick up wiring, it can give anywhere between 1 and 5 wiring per pick up. Maxed out legend skill for it increases the odds of the larger roll to happen, so more likely to get 3, 4, or 5 wiring.

Scav gear is different, it only works when you play the "creepy hands" search animation, so it works on things like electronics, corpses, and bags. Scav gear's thing is that instead of increasing the loot dropped, it rolls for a second potential loot item in that object's pool. So looting a cash register can give Wiring, electronic parts, or a battery, and then has a chance to give another white item (wiring, or electronic parts) and a different chance to give "uncommon" loot as a bonus (just battery)

Why is "ultra" a significant downgrade on 1.4? I had my preset on ultra and I found out they turned on dlss frame gen x4 so I was getting 30 fps.

I have a 5090 there is no reason to turn on frame gen. I have a adequate computer to render the game at a playable fps without using frame "doublers" (or in this case quadruplers). I couldnt figure out what was wrong and why everything ran so badly until I checked how much gpu usage I had and it was at like 13%, which then sparked me to realize they changed all my settings.

I really like the game but why is frame gen x4 and dlss performance default on ultra. Ultra to me means better settings than "Very High"

Yeah if you’re higher then intended due to 4XP and the ridiculous volatile xp and you’re in NG+1 it should just scale for you until it properly lines up to the NG+ to where you then finally have to properly level if you’re still under the max in the NG+ you’re in if that makes sense. I tested at 200+ on NG+ 2 with a level 15 weapon that took five hits to kill a regular infected and that is when I knew damage didn’t matter, besides one shots. They just don’t exist their meter for the high damage numbers that exist and scale properly.

The grind would be been fine as doing everything and story usually gets you to hit the max XP for the highest area. Or usually over it a bit, so you get a head start in the next NG+. Bad volatile XP and 4X fucked their good idea up. And it made the one shot causals happy who forget finishers are now gone despite being broken for most of NG+ up to 7. So I have to grind 7-10NG+s while they can happily run around one shot everything and not skip their story stuff unlike me who has to because one shots are stupid. One shots should be for story and survivor not brutal ever and never ever nightmare

I loved brutal. For me I could kill 2 volatiles at a time. My only issue was he was a bit weak. He should’ve been one or two steps ahead. Or even. I’d would’ve been happy to kill 5-10 volatiles if playing smart or 5 and then having to run. Also take a few more hits but the causals whined about the whole concept of brutal because their ego couldn’t handle being humbled that it wasn’t for them and they didn’t want to drop. The situation now is due to them and they’re glazing the power now. And I swear if they ruin NG+ 7-10 and nightmare rather then stick to their baby difficulties I’ll be pissed lol

All I can say is 2XP event did not help. 2, it was too much XP given for volatiles. It should’ve been like brutal before NG+ you need to do all side and story stuff to hit 15 or some of the side and main. You can’t get 15 rushing the story. I think this was their idea and for some reason made volatiles even without an event still give out tons of xp faster then quests because they messed up the XP tuning of volatiles which left the players doing unintended one shots and out leveling their NG+s. Only what I said should’ve been the main sources of XP and encounters and if one wants to kill a volatile some decent reward is given for it (not massive XP)

People might think I’m fucking stupid for repeating myself but it helps spread the feedback which is why I enjoy the discussions

With how brutal was before it’s not the challenge that needs fixing it’s the amount of times needed to do it to get the proper experience for us grinders and challenge lovers. XP should’ve worked like pre NG+ brutal. You either do all side stuff and main story to hit 15 or some side stuff and main or you suffer when rushing main story to where you don’t hit 15. 4XP and 2XP on volatiles is way too much faster then any other method of how you get XP.

So for me if I’m not legend by NG+ 8 let me at least make NG+ 2 scale to 8 until I get there and then stop scaling so I can properly level up for 9-10 and if getting my ass beat it’s fair game to complain if I rush it. Since they messed up the XP of a good idea like how it worked before on brutal non NG. Will leave a lot of us burned out to beat it 10 times just to play how we want to.

Just to get the experience yeah. Challenge is fine. They just messed up on XP which left us getting power too quick and unintended one shots early. I think it was meant early on in each NG+ to feel like non brutal progression. So I’d like them to let me scale to NG+ 8 difficulty wise and then crunch the XP since it would be too little for me on NG+ 2 which is where they fucked the XP. Up. Then when I get to 8 I get the proper XP again when I hit 8. So it lets me play the way I want until I get there and when I do. If that makes sense? So if I rush NG9-10 and I’m not the ranks I can’t complain getting my ass whooped.

If they’re doing it before leaving NG+1 that’s on them but it’s also bad that it even let them do it which is the bigger problem. People should’ve hit 30-35 in one NG+ to then have a 5 level advantage in 2 and so forth. It’s never been the weapon damage problem. Since as you said it scales better later but that’s because the game finally catches you up which is not what techland wanted to happen. That’s just how we as players gotta fix it due to them.
