But the client was very insistent on us having a folder structure with the metadata and then each text file was like 6-8 folders deep. And I simply did not want to write the code to traverse that and then ingest the text file, because the text file had all the damn data that the folders had. But the client was so fucking obsessed that we had to keep the folder structure. Ended up getting PM to say "No, the folder structure is going away because you're getting a new system that will have that structure. Let the team do what they need to do." But that took about 2 hours of back and forth and it escalated all the way up to the Director of their department
I cannot even fathom why it had to go that high but it did
