Remember that cron runs with way fewer environment variables set, it doesn't read all shell files etc. My guess is something is outside of your default path.
Usually it's the easiest to just make it:
* * * * * /bin/bash /path/to/script.sh >| /tmp/crondebug.log 2>&1
Then wait a minute, comment out this line and check the logs :)
