It's really really dumb to run it over the open internet and pretty dumb to use it at all
There is no encryption, you're logging in and running commands via plaintext

Hey, was just coming to ask a quick question: Is there a way to host say, 6-8 minecraft servers, so each one gets a single thread each, but they are linked, they share the same map, and all players appear to be on the "one" server with the main three worlds (world, nether, end)? I'm considering this would be a better approach since I have some slower single threaded performance and entity issues are completely shitting all over performance in both 1.16.4/5 and now in 1.17 vanilla (as far as I can tell, it's worse in 1.17, idk how).

ideally what you do is take that one world and split it up into chunks and move people between processes which handle those chunks
