Java 8 being an LTS does not mean you magically never had to update it. Mojang used an old build of 8 for forever and the world didn't implode. It was just as if they were using Java 14 now, or 16 after September. And it worked perfectly fine.

if there are cases where the conflict cannot be handled, then you'll need to write something specific for it
